Alesha and Kim are the best in Cincinnati. Super nice, always make you feel comfortable. Very fast and efficient! The location can be kinda hard to find if its your first or second time. The parking lot is in the back and there are plenty of spots. You can book online and they keep your card on file for faster transactions. My only negative is that the price for eyebrows seems high, most places are $10-15, they charge $17 I believe. But I'm all about supporting a local, female owned business. :-) read more

I went to Heavenly Bodies for my first time today, and Alesia took awesome care of me! The wax was amazing, ten times better than the Brazilian I got at a chain last month. I always prefer small businesses to corporations, and today I remembered why. Don't be fooled by a coupon. This isn't a review for that other place, so I won't get into how awful it was. I'm just so shocked by the difference. Lesson learned: just pay for the service you want. Alesia was kind, quick, gentle, and thorough. The pain was barely noticeable. I have no shame or modesty, but even if you do she won't make you feel weird! Haha. I wish I could just make an appointment for you, that's how pumped I am by this wax. Also as a side note... I hate going places that make me feel weird about wearing a mask or asking to wash my hands. I'm higher risk, and it makes me nervous to try new places. Alesia offered me hand sanitizer when I came in, sanitized everything, had touchless hand washing areas, wore a mask, and opened the sliding door with her elbow. I appreciated that! The house is hardish to fine (it's pink, that'll help you see it!) and there's parking behind it. So much more comfortable than some chain place that looks and smells like a tanning salon. I've had a Brazilian wax regularly for the last 4 years and this was the worst result I've ever had. Priding herself more on speed than an effective wax, the woman BROKE all of my hair instead of removing it by the root. I did not have even one day of smoothness. All the pain and all the expense of a wax WITH NONE OF THE RESULTS. Avoid this salon at all costs. Its definitely no frills; but really if you're getting hair ripped out of your lady bits do you care about the comfort of the chairs you're not sitting in? The best part of the service is the SPEED; both Alisha and Kim will have you hair-free in under 15 minutes; there really isn't time to freak out; just take a deep breath and you're halfway done! I typically leave a VM to make an appt; so that's not unusual; but they always call back promptly. If hey can't fit you in; they'll try to put you on the wait list (and last weekend, I was able to get squeezed in because I live in the neighborhood and when they called with a cancellation, I jumped!) I just have to preface this review with I recently moved here from Chicago and was very spoiled by the person I went to for waxes for years. I totally agree with the other comments that it's fast and everyone is friendly. I was also able to get a pretty last minute appointment as well, which is another plus. Agree with Anne, definitely a no frills sort of place, but it does the job. I explained it to my friends as a wam-bam sort of waxing. From when I walked in to when I walked out, it was 15 minutes. Having had someone use a different type of wax and numbing cream at my last place, this was more painful than usual. The wax was also a little too hot, which left me with a lot of pain for the next 24 hours. All and all, it wasn't a bad experience and I would recommend them. Maybe they can provide numbing cream to customers .. it really helps! read more

I'm a bit disappointed that this is one of the highest rated places on Yelp for hair removal. From my experience, it definitely doesn't deserve such a high rating. PROS: Making the appointment was not as conventional as I would have liked but it was fairly easy. It's just like a game of phone tag: you call them and tell them your name, appointment date, and phone number, and then they call you back and leave you a message confirming your appointment. The appointment itself is extremely quick. You can be in and out of that place in 20 minutes tops. Once you find the place (extremely easy to miss on your first visit), parking is pretty convenient. They have a lot at the back which was pretty empty when I went there. There also didn't seem like there was double dipping which was a big concern of mine. CONS: Location- If it's your first time there, the place is a bit hard to find. It's easy to miss because it's just a little house with a little sign at the front. Ambiance- The place looks like a house that was haphazardly sectioned off into waxing rooms. I don't mind that much but don't expect too much if you're used to being in a comfortable room when you're having hair ripped out of your body. The room I was in was crammed and did not have a full wall. I think it stopped 12" short of reaching the ceiling... Experience- I definitely had much better experiences elsewhere. It's nice that they give you this paper thong, but you just end up holding it throughout the service. This is quite unnecessary. I mean, please stop with the false modesty. We all know why we're here. The wax was unexpectedly hot and burned a bit. It would have been nice for her to warn me beforehand though. The thing that really made me give this place 2 stars was really the finish. When I was done, I had oil all over (not sure what it was) and strands of wax all over my leg. I was NOT there to wax my leg. I still had strands of hair left over, which are usually removed at the other places I've been to, but they apparently don't do that here. I left feeling gross and unsatisfied with the service given the amount of money I paid for it. BOTTOM LINE: If you need something quick and don't mind the mess, this is the place for you. I had my very first appointment for waxing EVER with Kim and she made me extremely comfortable and I was done before it even seemed to begin. They know what they are doing, know how to make their customers comfortable and are extremely affordable. Once, before my wedding, and was hurt so badly that it messed up other stuff, and another time, where the hair grew back within three days (all of it, so they just essentially "shaved" it). Went for a Bikini wax and came away with the skin under one strip completely raw- I'm guessing from the wax burning. Been getting bikini waxes for 20 years and never had this issue. Waxing was far more painful than any other I've had- both at the time of service and now that my skin is raw. After reading the great reviews about this place, I was very disappointed. The tech stated that she was an expert at waxing and had been doing it for over 20 years. I would hope if he has been doing it for over 20 years, she would know that her wax was not hot enough. I have been to many waxing salons in various states( Ohio, New Jersey and Florida) and this was the first one that actually ripped my skin off. She ripped skin off in several places during my bikini wax. I was extremely worried that I would get an infection from it. I would definitely not recommend this salon to anyone. Although the establishment was quaint and in a nice house, the quality of the wax for the price was not great. It was quite painful compared to my previous waxing experiences and there was still a fair amount of hair leftover in all areas (note a brazilian should be taking off ALL areas). In addition, there was an exposed trash can next to where I recieved my wax with previous clients' hair on wax strips. I would suggest a focus on detail to waxing the areas of the body and perhaps not rushing the process. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

Had my first brazilian a few months ago in prep for my wedding. Not the best: I felt the woman doing it was in a hurry and not friendly. I know they schedule 15 minute appointments and so they work fast but she was simply vacant. It felt like she didn't want to be there. Yes, I realize it's not the most enjoyable job but I felt like with it being such an intimate thing and it being my first time that she should at least be friendly. I still tipped her and knew I would be back. You shouldn't go the first time and experience all that pain if you can't suck it up and go back for a second time. :) The second time (a week before my wedding) was awesome! I asked for Alesia this time and was not disappointed. She was friendly, a little funny and very accommodating. You can tell she is experienced. The second time was also DRAMATICALLY less painful than the first and I can't wait to go back. It's totally worth it!! Overall, each visit only took about 8 minutes. Definitely call ahead, I've never heard of a walk in getting an appointment. My bottom line: ask for Alesia. read more

I don't know if it is just me...by all the other reviews it would seem so...but I would not go back to this salon. I have been getting waxed for almost 6 years and I have never experienced a place like this. I just moved here from Colorado so I picked this salon based off of other's review. But let me tell you, speed isn't always a good thing! You are paying $60 for a 15 minute wax. All of the other salons I have been to at least take 45 minutes. This was one of the most painful waxes I have ever experienced. It seems like they are just rushing to get to the next person so they just rip the strips off quickly and painfully. Not only that but when I got home I noticed several spots of hair that were missed. Also they make you wear this weird paper thong...never have I seen this before at any of the other 6 salons I have been to. Don't get me wrong...The staff here was super friendly but that is not worth the pain. read more

I have been here twice for waxes. Both times for full leg, which includes the standard bikini line. A couple of things: 1) the salon is in a bright pink house...hard to miss. BUT if you arent looking for a bright pink house, their sign is hard to see. 2) parking is in the back of the house (or you can try street parking but its always full) and the salon entrance is at the back as well. 3) when you walk in, it DOES have a very strong cigarette smoke smell. Im not super sensitive to it, but its not great in my eyes because it just makes me think things arent sanitary. If smoke smells bother you then you may want to keep that in mind. 4) you DO need an appointment but they are usually pretty open if you schedule a few weeks in advance. I have had no issues with scheduling via their website. I get a nice confirmation email too. You also need a credit card to hold your appointment but you can change payment methods at payment time. The booking website has a complete list of their services and prices, including some that are not listed on the site. 5) alesia was very efficient and the whole process took about 30 mins, which is pretty good in my eyes considering im quite tall. As for the wax, the first time I wasnt expecting a whole lot. I had been shaving beforehand and i only had the minimum 2 weeks worth of hair growth. So I knew there would be hairs being left behind. The first wax took most of them off but a few were too short to be taken. Not a problem. I knew it would take a wax or two to get all my hair on the same growing pattern. So I didnt shave the whole month and planned to have anlther wax in the hopes that by that point, all my hair would have grown out sufficiently. The second time was not as good as the first. There were full length hairs left on a whole patch of my leg. These were hairs that SHOULD have been long enough to take out (easily 1/4 inch). And I realized as I watched Alesia perform the wax that they were likely not getting taken out because she uses the same strip multiple times. This makes the wax build up on the strip and then affects the ability of new wax to stick to it and pull out the hairs. I know this is likely the problem because when I waxed my own legs I would get perfectly smooth legs by only using a strip once or twice. I ended up having to tweeze out the remaining hairs (at least 25-30 of them) by hand. It was kind of disappointing because the second wax was supposed to get MORE hair up not less. And for what I'm paying, I don't expect poor quality the second time around. I came back because it was so great the first time. Its possible I may need an extra week between waxes, and I may try that. But you should see SOME progress in the hair being taken out when you've got 2 weeks minimum growth on what grew back and at least a months growth on what was left behind. It also seems like the hairs were breaking off instead of coming completely out. Again, a month is plenty long to grow out hairs that were left behind. But perhaps another week of growth would have benefitted me. I couldn't tell that hairs were left behind until I got home and the oil had soaked in a bit. So its not like I could have asked her to take those hairs off in the salon. The bikini wax was fine. And I know they are voted highly for those. So if you want a bikini or brazilian wax definitely go here. But for other services, I'm not sure. You would think that ALL of the services they offer would be the same quality but I understand that you can specialize in one thing and be really good at it. Overall, for the value, this place is good. For now I am waiting to see if another appointment makes a difference. If not, I may just come here for bikini waxes. The biggest reason I wanted a wax was for my legs to not have to shave them. Having to go back in and tweeze them after paying $69 (including tax) plus tip is kind of disappointing. read more

I have been going to HB for over 5 years now. Alesia gave me my first brazilian wax, and YES it was painful! That is to be expected though! I have been going fairly regularly since then. Everyone I have had wax me has been extremely nice! I have never had a bad experience there! I like being able to call, leave a message with the days and times that I would be available to come in, and they always call me back with a couple of options of times that work for my appointment! I cannot answer a phone at work, so this option is great! HB is a no frill kinda place, but that is fine with me! I don't need to pay the extra money for looking at pretty pictures and listening to "relaxing" flute music. You are there to get hair removed from sensitive places... Speed is the key! :-D I personally find it hard to believe that some people on here have had bad experiences.. I would like to state that you have to take some responsibility to be a good customer too! Alesia and Kim have given me plenty of instructions on what to do and not do after my appointments. As far as ingrown hair, THEY HAPPEN! Go on Google and read how hair grows. DUH! There are so many variables I won't go into it here... Having just moved to Cincinnati, I relied on Yelp to help find a reputable service line that would fit my needs. When I showed up, I drove right past it. It is located in a house with ample parking in the back. I also noticed on the door multiple bumper sticker signs about "toughening up" and "don't be a baby" about waxing signs and found it to be quite tacky. The service was very quick and my lady was not personable at all. I personally like to build a relationship with my estheticians as I routinely get this service done every month. The lady hardly even acknowledged me. Overall the wax was suitable hence why I am going to give it an okay rating. read more

I have been getting brazilian waxes for several years now. I went to Heavenly Bodies first after moving to the Cincinnati area based on the rave reviews this place got. All the reviews have said that she is quick, which is true, but that is not always a good thing. She rushed through the job, RIPPING SKIN off! She left wax ALL over me, which stuck to my clothes for the rest of the day because I had to return to work afterwards. She uses a disposable container of wax, and it cooled very quickly and she did not reheat it...which you may know does not work very well for several reasons, some described above. Also, after it was done I had brusing -- and I am not sensitive whatsoever... it stung and hurt to get into the shower, and the soreness was there for SEVERAL DAYS. Additionally, once the hair started to grow back, I had a total of about 20 ingrown hairs which is not normal, especially if you exfoliate. I paid about $80.00 with tip. I think a lot of people recommend her because maybe they went to her first and were expecting it to be painful, but it is not anywhere near this excruciatingly painful (what I experienced with her) if you go to someone who knows what they are doing. I understand that she has several years experience, but she definitely does not know how to do the brazillian properly. read more
