Parlor doughnuts is one of my go to study spots as I live just down the street. Great vibe in there and a great place to study, they have a small room with a good amount of tables and usually can get a spot. Their donuts are good I like the variety of flavors but nothing too special. However, the minis with raspberry filling are the best things ever. I would eat them everyday if I could. Their coffee is good but average, I wish it was a little stronger. The energizers are a nice addition to the menu, the tropical one was a nice flavor. The service could be much better. Employees seem to hate their jobs and are not very friendly to be honest. The mini donuts are whats giving this place a 4 star from me

Sooooo, it's on the "second" floor above where Soma used to be. Parking isn't terrible, but it's so lovely. A mix of clean and modern and a little vintage eclectic atmosphere because it's built into a house! We went at 6PM so the display was empty, but he made each donut fresh for us, and honestly these donuts are BEASTLY. Also shout-out to whoever was closing on 5/29 because they threw in a FREE donut (chocolate chip pancake!) and suggested we microwave it. 10/10 would buy again.

These donuts are little works of delicious art and an easy 5 stars. The shop is a little hard to find near the IU campus. They are located on the second floor of a multilevel older building. The shop has the feel of a French pastry bakery. I was greeted by cases of beautiful large donuts. They are not traditional circles with holes. Instead they are shaped and decorated like little cakes. I got the Turtle Donut. The cake is flaky like a French crawler, then generously covered with caramel, chocolate and pecans. Wow, delicious. My husband got the house favorite, the French Toast Donut, which was covered with cinnamon and powder sugar. These donuts are definitely an elevated donut experience. Service was friendly and quick. The shop is cute and eclectic, decorated with a few vintage toys. You can watch the donuts being decorated though a large window. In a separate room, there are a many tables and chairs where you can eat your donut. There are also a few tables outside. The restrooms are clean and nice. There is free street parking out front which I'm guessing is hard to find when the students are in town. Entry to the shop requires going up a step, I think it would be difficult with a wheel chair. I couldn't tell if there was another entrance with easier accessibility. If I lived close by, I'd be here everyday. Parlor takes donuts to a new level. This is a must try!

My partner and I drove over an hour to Bloomington, IN with the full intention of trying out other flavors from this shop. Their spot is in a funky building - that houses other businesses. They have a good size place with a seating area. When we went inside, a lot of the trays were empty already but the staff indicated they can make any donut that is on the menu fresh despite the absence from the display case. We ordered the honey, French toast, raspberry pistachio and churro donuts. Holy cow!! They were all freakin delicious. The donut has a slight chew but kind of airy - they weren't heavy or overly sweet and you can actually taste the distinct flavors of each one. These donuts are delicious and definitely worth driving an hour to get to. Please do yourself a favor and try them out!!!

This spot is SUPER cute & the staff was super friendly, but the verdict is still out on layered doughnuts for me! What are layered doughnuts? Well first off, they have no hole! They're a bit dense and chewy --- almost like if you fried brioche dough! It's supposed to be crispy on the outside, light & fluffy on the inside. It only sort of delivered on that. They also have a tonnnn of flavors as well as some vegan options (that looked more like traditional doughnuts - hole and all!). I ordered the Sandy Beach one which was like cinnamon sugar with a twist! If I wanted to bring something special to a group, Parlor would be a great option. Still worth a try but it's not my favorite type of doughnut!

This place is super cute and aesthetic, and I really like their doughnuts!! The dough is kind of a "layered doughnut" so it does not taste like a traditional donut but more like bread or croissant, and I love the taste! I got raspberry pistachio, and the icing on mine was also very unique and I could taste the raspberry. The only downside for me was that it was too sweet to eat alone LMAO, but I shared my donut with someone so it was perfect I did try their matcha once and it did not hit unfortunately, but everything else is good.

It's a cute and fun shop with lots of great flavors! I think cake doughnuts are my preferred but the layered donuts were fun to try!

Got the Turtle Cheesecakeand the Strawberry Shortcake.

Got the Turtle Cheesecakeand the Strawberry Shortcake. Both were amazing. Airy layers like a croissant. Sweet, but not over the top. Light and not oily. Yum!!!! Service was quick and easy. Got it for Togo. In and out in two mins. Must have each time we come to IU campus.

I've had Parlor one time - I got the maple bourbon pecan doughnut. Let me tell you - to die for ! The flavors are perfect. The donut is flaky - so don't come in expecting a cake donut. All of the flavors look amazing and they even have dog donuts ! The way they have the space laid out is nice - bar up front with the bakery case and cash register while seating is more to the side. They made the place look bigger than it did when it was the laughing planet. Cute decor and setup. Gourmet donuts at a fair price ! They are BIG. I can't wait to come back and try the whole menu !

Inside the door, the floor is so cool!!

On this particular outing a friend was eager to take my husband and I to his favorite coffee shop in his hometown of Bloomington, ID. Hopscotch Coffee & Kitchen sits right in along the Bloomington Rail Trail. The setting of the cafe is calm, inviting, and simple. A large porch welcomes you to the shop; it's obviously a local favorite. When you enter the shop the coffee bar is to the right, comfortable couch seating along with work tables and cafe tables are to the left. If you want something more than a coffee and a treat there is a restaurant towards the back on your left. The cortado was delicious and the company was priceless. I hope you're able to share a cortado with someone soon. It's a good way to turn something ordinary into something special. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Definitely the college vibe of the decade, no one talks and has their faces on a Saturday planted in the computer. If not being socially inclined just sit in the dorm/apartment. The sweets were pricey but tasty. You can sit on the porch, inside or get out of there (never liked tolerated but liked a place so much as this spot). The cashier was swamped, asked about her having help, which I was told she was cleaning (4p), but she finally slithered over to help get orders rolling.

Same good experience here…read more I got a tomato red pepper danish, a piece of blueberry almond cake, and a summer garden tea (seasonal green tea with fruit syrup) The danish was actually my second choice after I found out they were out of the galette I wanted, but I actually liked the danish a lot and was glad it was what I ended up with. The pastry was great, with nice layers but not overly flaky for my taste like a lot of danishes; it had a nice tenderness to it. The filling was delicious, like a cheesy roasted red pepper dip baked into a danish. The cake was also great, not too sweet and very aesthetically pleasing too. The tea was really nice, with the fruit flavors balanced with the green tea. The shop is very cute and felt welcoming. There's a lot of outdoor seating. They have some local art prints for sale and there's even a printer for customer use. The baristas were friendly.

The lady didn't told me that they didn't have milk, but then a display showed that they did have milk so she had to go look for it and finally found it. It's really a unusual Customerservice experience as the employees aren't that friendly and don't seem very hospitable and welcoming.
