My family and I are pleased with the quality of work, pace in which the project was completed, level of communication and the provided customer service. Our roof was completed in a matter of days once our project was approved for permits from our city. First day was teardown and disposable, second day was bringing in material/repair/1st permit sign off/start roofing and the 3rd day was completion. The final permit sign off would've been sooner but our city doesn't have inspection on Fridays. So in all, the project started Wednesday 3/30 and ended 4/1 with final inspection on 4/4. First I want to apolozie to owner Dave and John the field representative or estimator for not imputing my review earlier when the roof was fixed in October 3, 2023. I'm sorry. I have had very good results and good experiences using Yelp based on other reviews and it was a help to decide on Parkside roofing for my leak that was occurring at my kitchen window. I had to wait a few extra weeks because I was away for a while and later found out from John they do not prioritize jobs by the size and it is first come first served which is very fair. John comes over and it was a great connect with him because he is a very congenial person to talk to. What WOW me was he unfolded this mini drone with camera and sent it up to scope the section I was having the problem with. He mentioned a couple of possible causes for the rain water to seep in but I think during the repair day it was found that the plywood had wood rot I think and that because the of age of the roofing paper that was changed also along with the plywood. I have to mention here the (3) man crew was like the first roofer that came out two months prior but all they did was just focus on changing out the roof tiles. What was similar was there was a language barrier both times but with Dave & John's people there was another lead person that I could talk to on the cellphone but I just waved it off as I already told John in our first meet I just wanted the leak to stop. Along the way that day someone was texting me with what the "lead" person at my house had found to be the problem and that they needed to add the cost of a piece of plywood to the quoted cost to which I agreed. The two to three month delays was from me wanting to wait for some good rain to confirm there was no more leak but I also needed the person to come in behind the roof repair to replace a section of the drywall. After this long story there was no more leaking at the same spot and the roof was repaired finally. The reason why I can recommend Parkside roofing is 1) customer service is good and 2) the crew and the "lead" person knows how do roofing and do it throughly on his own. I told John when I have my house painted by May of this year I am calling him again to get a visual with his mini drone on the roof tiles where the painters having to step onto the tile roof to paint parts of the house. read more

We were interested in getting solar done (via SolarMax), and their inspection of our roof showed that our underlayment was brittle and some of our roof tiles were broken. They suggested we re-set our roof tiles and get new underlayment installed. The house we live in is 30+ years old, so it was understandable if the underlayment was on its last leg. But we wanted an outside opinion to make sure that was the right course of action. (Luckily, the tiles were in relatively good condition) Dave was awesome and inspected our roof. He confirmed the roof condition that SolarMax had also found. So we went forward with the recommendation of re-setting the tiles, installing new underlayment, and replacing any broken tiles. The project lasted a handful of days, and we are pleased with the result. Side Note: I picked up some old underlayment pieces they removed, and they literally crumbled in my hand. YIKES! So relieved we got that replaced! I'm so glad we did this before getting the solar panels installed, rather than dealing with possible issues/cracks/leaks after the fact. I contacted these guys for roof repair. A small job that an appraiser already said would be a small repair and small cost. David Park comes out, flys his little drone around the roof to look techy cool, but never pulls a ladder out to go up on the roof and actually identify where the actual leak is. Never asked to go into the house to see the leak from the inside. Then he just insults the company who put the roof up previously saying, "I can't believe they did that or that and did that, they did that wrong etc!" Then he says he will speak with the Foreman and send me an estimate. Several days later I get an email with an estimate for a whole roof replacement!!! And his email says if you have any questions let me know. I email him asking him to confirm if he really sent me an estimate for a whole roof repair and he never responds. I guess if you ask them to come out, they will just give you a quote for a whole roof repair! Give me a break! read more

My detached garage had a leak that I patched and I know it's about time to replace the main roof since it was reroofed over 15 years ago. So I called Parkside Roofing who immediately responded to my request for a free inspection. John came out and spent a lot of time pointing out "creative" fixes that had been done to my roof and fascia over the years. He used a drone fly-over and was able to show me on the screen the flashings that had been installed to divert rainwater and explained why some of them were either unnecessary or not effective. He also located a vent where the edges were beginning to lift up and a Verizon line recently installed that had been attached through a pole that was anchored above instead of under the shingles. He suggested that I patch both of those areas before the next rainy season (which I have since done). He said that the fascia boards that are pulling away are because incorrect wood was used. He also explained that because I have the maximum two layers of roofing right now, my next step would be to put in an entirely new roof. At the beginning of the inspection, I told John that I plan to begin building an attached ADU in the next few months. He advised that it would be best that I wait and have the new roof installed at the same time the ADU is built so that there is continuity in the structure and design. He said the garage leak and the current state of the main roof should be fine for another year, but that if any issues did come up, to let him know and they would come out right away. All this advice and guidance for the cost of a free inspection! BTW, I really enjoyed talking with John and there was absolutely no salesmanship involved. We were talking about random things and jobs in general. I asked how is it to be part of a family business. His eyes lit up and he seemed very proud of the dynamics, quality, and service standards of his company when he responded. He said his favorite part was meeting with the clients. He said they do get pretty busy, but they're used to it. That's the type of company that I would like to work on my house! read more

I searched for a roofing company to fix a leak that was caused by our roof. Found Parkside Roofing and requested a quote. Dave responded quickly and we exchanged a couple of messages. We also needed our rain gutters replaced so I asked Dave if they do rain gutters as well to which his response was "Yes, we do"! We scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on the roof repair AND the rain gutter. A few days later, one of their employees, John, came out to or house. He used a drone to take some pics of our roof and said he would provide an estimate within the next couple of days. I asked him about the rain gutters and he said we should consider removing the rain gutters altogether instead of replacing them since we don't get too much rain in CA. I asked him to give us a quote for replacing and to remove them to which he said he would. A few days later I received a quote but it was for the roof only. The price was reasonable so I let them know we would sign the contract. After waiting several weeks without any word, i sent them an email to ask when they could come out. Dave told me it would take another couple of weeks since work was backed up due to the recent rain which was fine. Dave also told me that if someone cancelled, he would contact me to fit me in. I was on a business flight coming back home on a Tuesday when they sent me a text that they could come out the next morning. but unfortunately, I didn't get the text until it was too late and they scheduled another customer. They eventually made it out the following week and again, I asked about the rain gutter and was told they would give take a look when they come out to work on the roof. John told me the guy would come out between 11am - 12pm but the worked showed up at 830am. Now this is fine but it would have been nice to know just in case we were not home or busy. They guy they send out has no idea about the rain gutter but completes the job on the roof. I sent several emails to Dave and texts to John about the rain gutter and all they do is apologize and tell me they have to contact a rain gutter specialists and will be back in touch. Well 10 days later, absolutely no word from either John or Dave. Very disappointed and feel they mislead me the entire time. I would not trust this company and of course not recommend. read more

Needed an second opinion from a roofer in connection with installing solar in terms of what portions of roof (installed originally at different times) likely needed to be replaced in next few years before putting panels on. Parkside was able to have someone come out within 24 hours to take a look who was able to explain the process and his opinion on stuff. Didn't try to upsell or pressure to replace parts that didn't need to be done and explained why or why not parts looked suspicious. Even walked me through how to handle a poorly installed satellite dish and why that part wasn't worth pulling out or replacing. As a novice, I felt like he was trustworthy and not just trying to squeeze additional money out of a sale. In terms of the actual work, they were able to work us in sooner than expected and completed the bulk of the work when I was out of town, so minimal intrusion.
