I've been to various Paris Baguette locations around Central Jersey, and honestly, I wasn't a huge fan... until recently. Let me explain. At one location I frequented, the coffee had really disappointed me. Once upon a time, their coffee was delicious, with rich, chocolatey notes, but the last few visits left me with bitter, almost burnt-tasting drinks, and no amount of milk could fix it. This was surprising, since they supposedly use LavAzza beans. I also never loved their cakes; I often found them too heavy on icing and light on actual cake. However, on a recent trip while shopping at 99 Ranch Market (which is conveniently right next door), we decided to give Paris Baguette another try and treat ourselves to pastries. I was immediately impressed by their selection and how frequently the display was refilled. Every item was behind a glass case, which felt very clean and hygienic. The cashiers were great at making the hot beverages, and they asked if we had a rewards program with them. We gave them our phone numbers, and it turned out none of us had signed up or that they expired. Here's what we purchased: - Cafe Mocha - 5/5 stars. Perfect balance of espresso and chocolate. The barista even made a heart on top. Although the lid covered it, the gesture was appreciated. - Cold Brew - 5/5 stars. Smooth and refreshing. - Chausson aux Pommes - 4/5 stars. A French apple turnover with a perfectly crisp crust and tender, flavorful apples that weren't mushy. - Croissant Donut - 5/5 stars. Flaky, buttery croissant-like in shape of a donut, filled with custard that was bright due to the citrus, and well-balanced between sweet and savory. - Blueberry & Cream Brioche - 5/5 stars. Their crust was crispy and light. It was an indulgent treat that was well balanced as the custard was rich, soft, and just sweet enough without being heavy. Patrons can help themselves to cream, milk, utensils, and napkins, which is convenient. The seating is roomy and relaxing, perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries. It's located in the Home Depot strip mall. Parking is usually easy on weekdays, but weekends can get a little hectic. Overall, this visit completely changed my opinion of Paris Baguette. The coffee and pastries were impeccable, and the environment made for a pleasant, stress-free experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. read more

This is located right next to the 99 Ranch. I was hoping that there was a bubble tea shop open inside the 99 Ranch, but since there wasn't, I hopped into the next best thing! This location is bright and clean with very friendly service. I've visited this location throughout the years, and it's just one of those places that I know I'll get something delightful, be it food or drink. This review is location-specific for this Paris Baguette location. This location has all of your usual PB pastries, cake slices and whole cakes that are mmmm mmmm delicious. The only observable differences between this location and the nearby ones in Paramus and Ridgewood are 1) the prices of the cakes are $1-2 more and 2) they have a 4 hour lead time for whole cake orders, so make sure to order ahead! If you plan on sitting around, they have plenty of tables and chairs that look quite comfy. Parking is relatively easy since they share a parking lot with the rest of the strip mall, but the lot can get crowded at popular grocery shopping and dining times. read more

Nice chill environment with a decent variety of baked goods. I enjoyed the mochi donuts the first time I went but it wouldn't be my first choice moving forward. Second time around I had the red bean sweet bread and I can now say I am a fan of red bean paste. I also had the Dubai chocolate matcha latte... I could kiss the creator. Their servers are also so cute and welcoming. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the ambiance while I work and eat. I would recommend this place for anyone who needs to get work done in the area and wants to treat themselves to lighthearted delicious desserts. Went for our weekly bakery restocking. The store seems to have gone over a small renovation, now they have glass displays in the middle. On the labor day afternoon, store was really full with lots of customers. A good number of products were still available. We got some of the pastry bread and chocolate ganache cake slice. I've been to this location a few times now and it's pretty solid. I've had a matcha latte every time and each time it was very enjoyable. I highly recommend the matcha latte with plain cold foam, vanilla and oatmilk. This location has a large parking lot, plenty of seats inside and outside during warmer months. Sometimes my drinks are too sweet, too bitter or too watered down - so really, a hit or miss depending on who prepares my drink. This place is like a hidden oasis in Hackensack. You have to travel within one heck of a strip mall to get to it, but when you do, you'll want to always come back. The food is a mix of sweet and savory items from small pizzas, hot dog creations which are 10 out of 10 bangers all day and sandwiches which hit different. They don't taste like your normal subs and they are on another level compared to diner sandwiches. The cakes too - OMG the cakes, they taste even better than they look and they look great. The service is perfectly satisfactory. The people at the register are very nice and this place gets pretty busy so I know it probably gets pretty frustrating. read more

Paris Baguette is a cross between a bakery and a lunch spot. They have all sorts of treats here. The harvest chicken salad from the refridge was too oniony for my liking. The packaged breads however are delicious. The croissant donut is delish too but a little sweet so be aware. They have cakes too if interested. These cakes are so beautiful and are scrumptious. Even though the name sounds like it's a French bakery, it's Korean. Korean style cake has a spongy, light texture. The whipped cream frosting and fresh fruit makes for a lighter tasting cake and there is less sugar than you'd expect. read more

Little Asian bakery with plenty of pastries and treats, always better fresh the first day, they don't keep well longer than that. The sweet rice donut is a great treat, very sweet (as the name suggests). The croissant bread is a family favorite and they have a number of cakes that aren't as sweet as their US counterparts. read more

There are so many cakes - it was hard to decide but the chocolate-strawberry caught my eye. Honestly it was tough because the descriptions all sounded so good and they were all so beautifully decorated. Well I'm glad we decided on the chocolate strawberry because it was light, moist, and delicious. The fruit on top was very fresh and best of all- the birthday girl loved the cake! They provided the candles, matches and the cake knife/server which was a pleasant surprise and the candles were perfect for the cake. Customer service was friendly and efficient. We were in and out with our cake pretty quickly. I'll definitely return to purchase another cake because there were others we wanted to try as well. read more

On a Sunday, close to 10 pm, after doing some shopping at 99 Ranch, my husband and I decided to pick up a few baked goods for our road trip back to Pennsylvania the next day. We got a tray and placed paper on it and a pair of tongs and walked down the aisle of the baked goods and ended up buying: Peanut Crumb Bread, $2.15- A nice peanut butter flavor in each bite. Would have been nice if there was a cream filling inside though. Sesame Tapioca Bread, $1.75- I like the chew of this bread, as it did have a tapioca like type of chewiness. Liked the subtle sesame flavor of the bread. Green Pea Pastry, $2.75- This bread is sweet, with a nice pea filling inside each piece of the bread. The sweet filling kind of reminding me mung bean but does have a different flavor. This was a nice surprise. ------------------------- (Total= $6.65, tax included) It is nice that this place accepts credit card, without a minimum. You can purchase drinks here in addition to baked goods and also cakes that are found in the refrigerated glass case. i love paris baguette but this location always gives me issues. The workers do not know how to communicate and run by a bunch of teens. Always getting my coffee order wrong and giving me the wrong milk and having to redo my order, and it already takes them 10-15 minutes to make one latte. Also they never stir the syrup/sauce in the drink so I never taste it until my last sip. Also they had no espresso on this specific day which is surprising for a coffee shop...Really disappointing. read more

Less then half the cabinets had pastries in them and no one brought out anything fresh the whole time we were there. The pastries we had were good and the coffee was definitely hot. We were looking for a place to buy a birthday cake for our daughter and so glad we found this gem. We bought her the Rainbow Cake. Truth be told I was disappointed that there wasn't any fruit filling and that is why I was hesitate to purchase this one, but so glad I did. It is super delicious. It's light. I can't wait to go back again and try the another cake. One of the workers did mention that the Rainbow Cake was really sweet, but thankfully it turned out not to be and turned out to be light; the filling is light coated inside too! The pastries are super cute and yummy. I've visited a number of times and I always try at least 1 new pastry each time. It's a little pricey per pastry, but nothing crazy. My favorite is the crème brûlée. I prefer that and the simpler pastries. The ones with the fruit tarts are pretty but not much is going on. I didn't love the chocolate filling and I generally think they skimp a bit on the almond croissant filling. The employees are very friendly, so definitely ask for recommendations if you walk in and are overwhelmed by all the choices! read more
