I love Paris baguette! This time I got the cereal and milk mochi, which had fruity pebbles. I enjoyed the fruity pebbles a lot. I'm actually not insanely crazy about mochi but this one was ok. The curry puff was delicious. I love the flavor combo. The honey garlic baguette was delicious as well, but the bread was a wee bit tough. Not in a stale way just very chewy? Its a really neat concept--walk around a variety of pastry cases and serve yourself, then bring your items over to the counter to check out, have pastries warmed, and order coffees. The ick factor came when I realized how many people weren't using the tongs they provide for you to pick up pastries and were instead reaching into the cases with their hands to grab items. The other downside of this place, and of the places like it, is that the pastries are sitting out at room temperature for a prolonged period of time. They offer to toast and warm anything, but it doesn't quite taste the same as true fresh pastry does. Of course, you can't beat the convenience of this place! read more

The best find at the end of the red line! Jump on red heading toward Shady Grove and stay on until Rockville. Spend some time tasting the best carbs and coffee northwest of DC! You'll want to stick around and check out the cute surrounding neighborhoods. I had a donut and a stuffed pastry and both were incredible! So, if you come up to the counter dancing you get free coffee. I witnessed this personally. A sweet guy really got into it. Lovely to watch and experience. Smiles all around. There is also delicious pastry everywhere. After walking around I chose a cream stuffed croissant. Very tasty and a bit sinful with that luscious cream. I ordered a nutella frappe. It took awhile to make but I didn't mind as I was not in a rush. The frappe was delicious. Spacious place if you choose eat in. I got my order to go. Staff was very friendly. Happy Grand Opening Day to Paris Baguette Bethesda! I had the chance to stop by last night before their official opening, and I'm so glad I did. I was super hungry and needed a quick bite before a dinner event, and everything I tried was very satisfying. Paris Baguette doesn't disappoint! They were offering cookie and pastry tastings, and the white chocolate macadamia cookie was so delicious-- a little on the sweeter side, but still very enjoyable. I also tried the Biscoff Cookie Butter King Cream Donut. I was worried it might be too sweet, but the butter custard had just the right balance to highlight the Biscoff flavor. Definitely one to enjoy with a good cup of coffee! The pastries were constantly being rearranged to be beautifully displayed. Your eyes/phones eat first, right? haha The cafe is also a perfect spot to hang out, quietly read, or get some work done--cozy and welcoming with plenty of seating. I came on a Sunday when parking is free in Bethesda. As someone else mentioned, there is a parking garage on Saint Elmo's, which is one block over and that there was a cut through between two apartment complexes where Paris baguette has outdoor seating. Street parking can be a little limited on Fairmont. I posted photos of some of their many sweet selections. It's hard to choose, so I will definitely be back. I've been several times to their Rockville location, and in Michigan, so I was familiar with their self serve policy. I believe you have to ask the staff if you want a cake slice from behind the counter where they work. I love their fancy brand tea. I always get the English breakfast because it's a very strong black tea and the water is very hot which helps it steep faster. I ordered a tea and a Pistachio Supreme Croissant. It was ok, but not enough cream in my opinion, and it was a little artificial tasting. I have had savory items, but some of the savory items don't look appealing sitting in the display case for an unknown time, especially the one with egg in it. I will return. Fall far would be a great time to sit outside and enjoy one of their pastries. If you don't already have their app, I highly recommend you download it now there are many rewards, including what I got today which was a free pastry with a purchase of a drink. Overall 4 Stars Ambiance 4 Stars This is my second time to Paris Baguette but not at this location. Located in the heart of Bethesda and near to a lot hotels and apartments, this location smaller than the other one I have been too, however the variety of pastries, sandwiches and drinks were wonderful. Classic Parisian with the decor and food. Service 4 Stars: the staff were friendly, professional, respectful and pleasant to converse with. Food: 4 Stars We had a light breakfast consisting of a coffee, ham and cheese croissant, a strawberry and lemon cream croissant and a prosciutto, fig, arugula, and mozzarella baguette. The Ham and Cheese Croissant: 3.5 Stars. By request, I ask for it to be heated and this is the way to get it. It was hot and the cheese melted throughout the croissant. However with that said, there wasn't enough ham in the croissant. One thinly sliced ham is all I tasted. The croissant, itself, was flakey, buttery but not oily, crunchy and hot. I wish it had more ham. The prosciutto baguette: 4 Stars This sandwich was heated and the ingredients had a perfect balance of sweet (fig preserves), salty (cheese and ham) and peppery (arugula) that complemented the buttery bread. The baguette itself was crunchy and slightly flaky on the outside, airy and light on the inside and had a great crust and chew. Just like it should be. When you bite into the baguette, it will break off with a tear and you might have to work a little bit on the chewing side before swallowing. You will know what I mean when you order one. Coffee was strong and dark. I forgot to ask what region of the coffee they use. Fresh strawberry and lemon cream croissant 3.75 Stars The croissant was fresh and flakey however it would be considered a mini or "petit" croissant. The Lon cream filling was a little bit too sweet for our palate and there was only one strawberry, cut in half, that was layered between the croissant and lemon cream filling. This has so much more potential to be bettered if it was in a bigger croissant but I understand they made it small so you can indulge with the other pastry selections. So I recommend to get something bitter (coffee or tea), savory (baguette or croissant w protein and cheese and end it with a sweet pastry. You can go wrong with that combo and it won't fill you up too much...depending on how many sweets you selected. LOL! Bon appétit! read more

Stopped by Paris Baguette on their grand opening today and had a solid experience right off the bat. The smoked sausage bread was really good. It had this nice sweet smoky flavor that wasn't overpowering. They warmed it up for me which made it even better. The crab cake surprised me with how fluffy it was. Usually these can be pretty dense, but this one was light in a good way. I would like more food in it. The NY cheesecake hit the spot, exactly how I like my cheesecake. Can't ask for much more than that. Impressed that even on day one, the staff was on it. they'll warm your food if you want it, which shows they're actually thinking about the customer experience. Free baguettes for the first 50 guests in line. Didn't make it to that but it's okay. Everything tasted fresh and the flavors were spot on. Pretty good start for a new location - definitely planning to come back. read more

A big fan of Paris Baguette so when a new location opened up in Bethesda, had to check it out. Fairly bigger indoor dining area that doesn't make it feel cramped up. In addition, ample outdoor seatings are available right outside. New Cookie Butter flavor for the Fall besides the well known PSL ofc. PSL fan don't judge me but not a big fan haha so I def prefer the Cookie Butter taste for my latte. Same as other locations, customer service were on par with smiles and eagerness to explain my usual need to know qs.. lol. We will be back another time perhaps enjoying the outdoor seating, bringing the pup, while the weather is still nice! read more

Paris ( at least a little bit) Open Up in Downtown Bethesda The ever popular bakery and cafe recently opened up its latest location in downtown Bethesda. It was very necessary indeed, the other location in Rockville Town Center was always busy and standing room only. With this expansion, I bet the demands for great coffee and delicious pastries will be more evenly distributed. I love the French decor and feel of the furniture, as if you are Summering somewhere warm. The coffee and pastries with their unique seasonal flavors are perfect and delicious. I believe I tried their pumpkin spice latte on this day. I'd been at a previous event so unfortunately, no sweet treat. I'll definitely return and enjoy this spot especially on weekends. read more

General Manager Jason and Jessica lead an energetic team whose welcoming hospitality has nurtured an inviting and breezy bakery offering a wide variety classical to creative takes on traditional French pastries with a modern spin--all set in a fresh-aired, comfy, and classy ambiance (beautiful white marble interior and spacious outdoor seating area that is naturally shaded by being between two highrises)! PARKING TIPS: For those arriving by car, the most convenient public parking lot is the big one located between Woodmont Avenue and Old Georgetown Road. However, note that this is only accessible weekdays after 11am or during weekends (only free of charge on Sundays) because of Marriott monopolizing the lot during weekday mornings. Otherwise, use the Cordell-Saint Elmo Avenues lot, or the one on the corner of Cheltenham and Wisconsin Avenues. An extra perk is that PB-Bethesda is located a hop and a skip from where I work, making it easy for me and my co-worker to visit 5 times in its first 10 days! Here are our favorite treats thus far (and Coffee): 1) Raspberry Almond Croissant A hearty and delicious hybrid of an almond tart on top together with a tender croissant bottom and raspberry jam-light almond cream center. 2) King Cream Donut Always on the lookout for quality yeast donuts, this one exemplifies a wonderfully spring and moist one with a delicately custardy filling. 3) Very Berry Pastry A mini-danish generously topped with berries (straw/rasp/blue/black) and lemon cream, this is the lightest and most virtuous among the sweets. 4) Strawberry Soft Cream Cake Slice A berry flavor-forward cake with a nice combination of being springy and moist as well as well-binded by the rich soft cream and fresh strawberries. 5) Strawberry Croissant Lovely flaky pastry held together by just enough custard cream and generously topped with fresh berries. Also, complements to the team for their great Hot Brewed Coffee (Lavazza), which has been very consistent in quality every time (ordered it 4 times) in terms of freshness, temperature, and concentration. It is a rarity these days to find good coffee (other than some fancy single-origin pour-overs) to the level of preparation in which we enjoy it black (without any dairy or honey/sugar)! All in all, kudos to the PB-Bethesda team for an outstanding start and look forward to trying more of their wide selections (including seasonal ones)! read more

I'm so glad to have Paris Baguette in downtown Bethesda! The space is clean and spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's larger than the Rockville location. The baked goods and cakes are beautifully prepared and displayed in the showcase. After browsing for a bit, we tried the Sweet Potato Bread and the Crab Meat Croquette. The sweet potato filling was wrapped in fluffy bread with just the right touch of sweetness and was very enjoyable. The crab croquette looked a little flatter than the photo on the official website, but it was flavorful, satisfying, and not too oily. Drinks were prepared quickly and tasted just as good as always. The staff was friendly and efficient, which made the visit even better. The only downside is parking. I was lucky to find a street spot, but since this is a busy area, you may need to circle around before finding one. Other than that, it's a great place to enjoy lunch or a snack, catch up with friends, or get some work done. read more

I came here on a weekday morning and got a few pastries as well as the dubai chocolate iced matcha latte. The pastries were delicious and although the matcha latte was not to my taste ( a tad too sweet), I think it may have just been the dubai flavor I did not like and would love to try a different iced matcha (strawberry, fruit,etc). Visited this location shortly before 10am on Sunday, and luckily found one empty spot for parallel parking on the street. The bakery is located next to a welcoming passageway that connects Fairmont Avenue to St. Elmo Avenue, on which there's a Montgomery County parking garage offering free parking on Sundays. (Alternatively, there's another Montgomery County parking garage on Woodmont Avenue, which is a short 3-minute walk to the bakery.) Given its location, the high rise buildings nearby the bakery shield the sunlight from entering the bakery and the passageway in the morning, providing a nice and peaceful place to enjoy a coffee/tea and pastry to get the day started. Since the bakery just opened a few days ago, there were balloons set up outside the bakery entrance, making it easy to find for a first-time visitor like myself. There are tables set up both inside and outside the bakery (in the wide passageway) to enjoy a quick or leisurely treat/coffee, and all the cakes, breads, sandwiches and pastries were nicely set up and stocked with the exception of one or two items. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the general manager was present in the front-of-house to ensure that bakery operations were smooth. As the cashier was transferring the pastries I purchased to-go into a box, he accidentally dropped my mixed fruit tart upside down on the tray, and all the fruit fell out; the general manager quickly let me know he would take care of it, and immediately retrieved a new pastry from the display case to replace the original one. He even ensured the presentation of all my pastries was satisfactory before having the employee close the box and hand it to me. I appreciated the attention to detail and the way that the situation was handled (among the employee and the manager). I will definitely be back to try their other pastries and drinks! Next time, I plan to stay longer to enjoy the seating area and the peaceful atmosphere at this location! read more

This place is pretty amazing. You get a plate or box and you can choose your pastries from the case. They frequently bring out more items so you know you get fresh baked food. Prices range from around $2.75 to around $5.75 for the pastries, with salad and sandwich options or cake slices being more. I've tried a few of their donut options and they are all really good. Definitely a treat. They have a rewards program too where they have deals and offers including a free pastry with purchase when you sign up. Their coffee is also delicious. Nice place to sit and have a pastry or drink. Wish they had more seating for smaller party diners though. I ended up leaving because all the tables were taken. There's no counter seating. However, there are a lot of outdoor tables. The prices are average for a cafe, but seem high compared to Lidl's bakery section a few streets over. Is it cheaper than a Parisian patisserie? No. Is the food on par with a Parisian patisserie? Also no. Can I get to it by metro? Yes. Does it have handicap-accessible gender-free bathrooms? Also yes. It's clean, it's bright, the staff are nice, you can get your own pastries except for the fancy cakes, and it's open fairly late. I have stopped by multiple times to get pastries for the kids which they loved. The store was clean and the service was great. However, I was really surprised by their catering services. My office had a company lunch catered by their Bethesda location. Ordering was easy and the mini baguettes and mini croissants were freaking awesome. This is a self serve location. Lots of items listed on line were not available or stocked in the cases. I know this is a brand new location but the person at the cash register wasn't able to correctly identify what I had on my tray to ring me up and went so far as to ask me what each item was called. Additionally, not sure if it was an error in the system or the cashier but one idea - the Dubai donut was ringing up at $9.99. Obviously a mistake!! The price card listed it a less than half that.
