The fries and onion rings are both tasty compliments. Like Germany, they serve the fries with mayo, not my personal favorite, but a unique twist. If you are looking for a tasty app, try the "Great Balls of Fire" (fried risotto balls with bacon, jalapenos, and cheddar). I also think it is worthy to note they have recently established a commitment to all-natural, humanely raised animals (no hormones, antibiotics), which makes you feel a little better when eating a burger or wings. They also have a really nice selection of beer and cocktails. I've never ordered a cocktail, because it feels like the type of place you should order a beer, and I have never been disappointed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor is usually a bit more lively and outdoor is "chill". I like both. The service can leave a bit to desired. We've always been seated quickly, but have had inconsistency with prompt service. It's always friendly, just not always prompt. The service isn't the best but the food is amazing. When I say that, I mean they're a little overwhelmed with the lunch crowd. My wife and I have been coming to this place regularly for years. We absolutely love all their food as well as their beer and cocktail options. But our last visit recently had to be cut short unfortunately. We arrived shortly after 6pm and the music being played over the speakers was the normal Rock and R&B type of music. But then the music changed to Rap. The last two songs we heard were Kanye West Bound 2 and Kendrick Lamar Alright. That was it for us. On this visit, it was a Saturday night during prime diner time. There was a 45 minute wait, but with the games they have in the back, it didn't feel long at all. I have never had a hot dog with such distinctive toppings, which they also split down the middle, flavoring every inch. I got The Southern Dog; it had pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried pickles, and ranch. I'm a sucker for anything with pimento cheese on it, but the fried pickles took it to the next level. They have all the safety measures in place from servers wearing masks, hand sanitizers, distanced seating. When we were there, they kept the doors open, so inside seating makes one just as comfortable. We got the cheese and crackers as a starter. This is a shareable appetizer for two. The crackers were bit soft and the bread they served would have tasted better if it was toasted. Their pimento cheese is delicious! The Lemon-Rosemary with Pecorino wings are a hit. I've now been here twice. Both times were good experiences with the food as well and service. The atmosphere doesn't disappoint either. What couldn't be better than combining extremely good bar food like burgers, wings, etc AND a side area of arcade games? Look no further than Paramount! The drink selection is pretty extensive and has excellent local choices; and while smaller, the food menu doesn't disappoint and is perfect for options-not too big but not limited either. I have had the Great Balls of Fire appetizer (fried cheese) and the hummus and both were super tasty and rich. The burgers are competitive with the best in Birmingham. All are cooked to your liking, yet juicy and full of flavor and served quickly as well. Parking can be a big issue if you come here during busy hours, so be prepared to walk a little ways if during peak times. I know there is a pay lot about a block away, so that is always an option if you can't find street parking. Oh yeah-The arcade area is great! Lots of options from skeeball to pinball machines to classic arcades like Galaga and Pac Man. they also have a machine for bills that will convert to quarters. They have an arcade in the back which is a lot of fun and good for a fun date or to hangout with friends. They have a bar in the arcade which is sometimes staffed. I can't remember which night but there is a night where they have free basketball/skeeball during the week. The drinks are pretty typically priced with a good assortment of cocktails. They have a cocktail on special each night. They have a pretty large craft beer selection as well. The food is really good here. I love their garlic fries. They also have a hot chicken sandwich which has a very good but different flavor. Last time I went they were kind of skimpy on the sauce but hopefully that was just a one time thing. Walk through the bar to the back room and you can turn back the clock to a classic arcade and game room. Pinball machines, video games (pretty good selection) as well as basketball shooting game. Prices are really reasonable for the arcade games. I had the Ed & Eddie Peach flavor....these are seriously one of the best drinks in town. Also, for you cider fans they carry Angry Orchard (somebody in our group was very happy). Hoppy and flavorful, it went well with the Torta Pueblo sandwich that I ordered for lunch. Quite possibly one of he best sandwiches I've ever tasted, it consists of slow-roasted pork, chipotle, smoky bean puree, pickled onions, lettuce, oaxacan cheese on a seasame roll. All the games have been updated to new ones that cost a dollar to play a brief 30 second to 3 minute game. It's easy to blow $30 in games in under 30 minutes. Also I know there are staffing issues everywhere but our waiter was just having a tough time. He was a nice guy but we waited an extremely long time for him to make rounds around the floor and it was hard to flag him down. Well wasn't very impressed. When we sat down with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson of one years old she had to take him to the restroom to change his diaper. They have no place in the restrooms to change babies diapers. Just had to put him down on the floor. When she got back a man came through the restaurant with kegs. He couldn't fit through the walkway and just stood there looking at my daughter and me to we got up and moved. Then less than 10 minutes later he did the same thing. We placed our order and hope for things to turn better. They didn't. I ordered a burger, it came with bacon avocado and mayonnaise. I asked for no mayonnaise but they have it on the side, because my wife was going to eat half and she was going to put some on hers. When we got the burger it was slathered in mayonnaise. Seem to take the manager a long time to get to us. At that point I wasn't willing to wait for it to be replaced. He did take it off the ticket which was good because it was left on the plate. So I have always loved this place and this visit really showed me how much! My friend and I started our night here instead of ending up here. It was Sunday and 6 ish so there weren't too many people. I had discussed this magnificent grilled cheese with him for a while so we both ordered the grilled cheese. We even had water so it wouldn't mess with the flavor. It took around 10 min to get our cheeses. They really were hot and super cheesy. There was no grease! The bread was a little more cooked than I like it, but it didn't take anything away from the sandwich as a whole. Every bite left a string of cheese! Once again, this sandwich was superb. We ended up talking and I took half my sandwich home (I just reheated it and it tasted just as good). The waiters were nice asking us if we needed help and we didn't feel rushed.
