People assume I'm a matcha-sipping, yoga-loving kind of gal... and they're not wrong. But I've also been lifting at Parado Power Gym consistently for the past 2 years, and I'm the strongest/most-fit I've ever been. This isn't the place if you're looking for AC or shiny new equipment--it's a little more rugged, sweaty, and all about getting stronger. The trainers are hands-down the best. They constantly correct your form, and somehow the tiniest adjustments make every exercise 10x harder (in the best way). I've been on a mission to grow my glutes, and I regularly leave with my butt twitching from pure muscle fatigue. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it. If you're looking for results, this place delivers. read more

Blake has made exercising fun for me and my wife. His personal attention to both of us has made the drive from Mililani to the UH area well worth it. We recommend Kupunas to put some of their monies in themselves to get physically and mentally stronger so they can have a more enjoyable life. Go to Parado Power!!!! read more

Parado Power is great because Jensen, Blake and Micah PAY ATTENTION: To my activities and ailments outside the gym. And to what I'm doing in the gym. They check in when I'm slower than the group, know when I'm ready for heavier weight, push me to maximize my reps, and tweak my form so I don't mess up my knees and shoulders. I've been coming for 2yrs. I've lost 20+lbs and am buying replacement clothes in sizes I've not worn since college. I'm stronger, more flexible and agile with fewer body aches and pains which really helps my surfing and bike riding. I am the most physically active I've been in my life, and probably the fittest - I did nine pull-ups this week! I've become a little obsessed tracking muscle mass, bodyfat and weight improvements on the gym's InBody machine. Most importantly, the Parado team has helped me figure out how to work all this into a realistic Lifestyle. So it sticks. Like finding lean protein foods I actually want to eat, and committing to regular gym work-outs I actually look forward to. Without the guys I would completely LACK the discipline. They even help me not worry about my cheat meals/days. It's all working. read more

I highly recommend Parado Power. The trainers are attentive, motivating, and they push you to reach your goals. They've got years of experience and know what they're doing. Friendly people who actually help you work out instead of just watching you go through the motions. I'm truly glad I started coming here! read more

This is the place to set goals, push limits and have a good time getting and staying in shape. The coaches are knowledgeable and customize your workouts just for you. And if semi personal sessions aren't enough, then hit a few move and strong classes just for fun and some spice!!! 1000% recommend! read more

I have been coming to Parado Power Gym for about a year now. Initially I was participating in the group sessions and lately private sessions. The 3 coaches are all very friendly, professional and caring. My husband gained more strength after starting private lessons here. I gained more muscles as well . The gym is clean, well equipped and very welcoming. I highly recommend this place! read more

I highly recommend this clean, well-equipped, and welcoming fitness community. Since joining a year ago for the group classes, I have really appreciated the excellent coaches, the convenient location with free validated parking, and the easy-to-use app for scheduling workouts. read more

Been going to Parado Power for half a year now and the personal progress has been amazing. Never worked out for almost 5 years prior to coming and it really seemed like they knew what my body needed more than I did. They gradually curated workouts to get me so much stronger in such a short amount of time and I'm excited to see what the future has in store. Highly recommend Parado Power, you're in good hands with great trainers who are very knowledgeable read more

I started coming to Parado Power because I wanted to look as good as I possibly can for my bestie's destination wedding, which was a year ago! I've continued attending group classes because working out has sort of become a habit, and regardless how I feel before class, I always leave the gym with a blank slate. Bad day? Go to the gym. Mentally exhausted? Go to the gym. Deciding whether to send that angry email? Go to the gym. The coaches are super chill and fun, as are the members. There's a program for every body and for every goal. My weight has not changed by much but my clothes are fitting a lot better than they did a year ago and I am stronger. Sometimes the coaches nudge me to take heavier weights but I like to "pace myself" haha! Parado Power is a clean (everyone wipes down their equipment) and bright and well-ventilated gym in a convenient location. Parking is plentiful (for the most part, depending on the time) and free with validation. Towels are provided and the water dispenser was upgraded not too long ago. First class is free; visit the website and sign up for a spot in group class! read more

Best workout! Kicks my butt, I'm huffing and puffing the whole time...but the next day I can feel all the muscles I worked out! Love our trainer Jensen! read more

Parado Power is a great gym. I've been training here since 2021 and every workout is always a challenge. I'm constantly improving, getting better and stronger every time I complete a workout. I enjoy my workouts here because you never have to wait to use equipment (it's a private gym), the trainers set your equipment for you and tell you exactly what you need to do, and it's an overall friendly and non-judgemental place. I mostly do the personal training sessions but I've also done the group classes. The group classes are amazing. You get a great workout in these classes as well. If your schedule allows you to attend the group classes, I highly recommend them as well. The classes are smaller (12 people max) so you can improve and progress better than other fitness studios that might have too much people (20-30+) so the attention to you is very limited. Parado Power is great for a beginner wanting to start their fitness journey or even someone who is experienced but wants to take the next step and do more challenging workouts. No matter what level of fitness, you will progress like you never thought you could. Don't wait any longer!! Start or continue your fitness journey at Parado Power! read more

Well equiped gym. Blake and team are very nice and helpful. Workouts well designed and fun.

If you're like me and joining a gym sounds intimidating, I encourage you to reach out to Blake for an intro. This is how I started and I highly recommend the gym for everyone! Pros: Coaches - All the coaches are amazing- they're friendly and offer positive encouragement to motivate you to try your best. Coaches are knowledgeable and they visually demonstrate the exercises so you understand the form and movement. Clean - Before you enter the gym, everyone wipes the soles of their shoes with sanitizing spray. Importantly, everyone wipes down equipment after use. Class - You can either opt to do personal training or classes. Classes are limited to 12 people, and it generally averages at about half that. Because of the smaller size, coaches are able to correct your form or provide any pointers. Of course, they won't be able to spot everything, but I've found their tips to be very helpful. I also appreciate the fact that you can go at your own pace. For example, during a 7-minute circuit, everyone will do the same set of 3 exercises, but I will select a pair of dumbbells based on my comfort level and I will go at my own pace. Additionally, the circuits change-up daily, so it never feels monotonous. Non-intimidating environment - People of all different ages and sizes attend the gym and compared to big-box gyms, I don't feel intimidated or self-conscious. Everyone is at different fitness levels and we each workout based on our own comfort level. User Friendly App - To sign-up for personal training or class sessions, you can easily do it through an app on your phone. It's very simple. Parking - There are more than enough stalls available so you never have to worry about finding a spot. Additionally, parking is validated for free up to 1.5 hours and it's easily managed through your phone with a QR code. Entrance is on University Ave, immediately after Betty's Burgers. Amenities - Men's and Women's bathroom is available, both with 1 shower each. Shower and workout towels are provided and a filtered water dispenser is available to refill your water bottle. Cons: Class availability - On Mon-Thu, 1 morning and 1 evening class is offered and on Fri-Sun, only 1 morning class is offered. This works perfectly with my schedule now, but who knows if that will change in the future. I hope that more people will join, so that more classes can be offered in the future! read more

I started personal training at Parado Power in 2023, eager to get back into weightlifting and feeling strong again after a long break due to COVID. Blake, Jensen, and Micah are all incredible trainers who push you to realize you're stronger and more capable than you think you are. Even though there are usually 1-3 other clients training at the same time, they never lose focus on you. They're always there to ensure you're using proper form, providing personalized tips, and answering any questions throughout your workout. I also did a nutrition program with Blake after feeling frustrated that I was working out consistently but not losing the stubborn body fat I was hoping to. Blake guided me through a tailored 3-month plan that paired with my workout routine. In that time, I lost 8lbs and, more importantly, gained a wealth of knowledge about healthy eating and how to sustain the progress long-term. Sadly, I'll be moving later this year, and Parado Power will be a major thing I'll miss. I can't recommend this gym enough. Sign up today - trust me! read more

I am delighted to have discovered Parado Power Personal Training. The owner, Blake Parado, and my personal trainer Micah are awesome. Both are highly skilled and very motivating. This is the first time I've had a personal trainer and I am delighted to finally be able to focus on exactly the areas that bother me. I've been training with Blake since 2014 and moved with him from Raines Fitness to K Fitness to Paradopower. He's the real stuff - I'm 68 going on 30 well maybe it's more like 50 but I'm stronger and fitter than most of my peers and young people. It's worth the investment of time and money - don't buy junk go spend time and money with Blake. Your body and health will thank you. read more

I love Parado Power! They offer both group classes and personal training. I've been taking their group classes for a while now and love that each class is something different. Blake is an amazing trainer and pushes you when he knows you can do more. He keeps things fun and just when the workouts start to get easy he will make them more challenging. I also really love that he reaches out when I skip a class because it helps me stay accountable and maintain my consistency. The first time I took the class I was a little intimidated because I had never done a group class before but he makes everyone of all skill levels feel comfortable. He's super patient while reexplaining things to me when I'm feeling a little uncoordinated and lost in the class. Parking is easy in Pucks Alley and you can get validated. Highly recommend! read more

PARADO POWER is a fabulous gym. I was doing online training for a while. When I felt comfortable to come back in person, the protocol to enter was awesome. Great to be back at Parado Power! I have been attending classes for a while and just love it! Classes are organized, timely and efficient. They have a lot kettle bells and free weights. Blake incorporates strength and cardio and the classes are never the same. You will not be disappointed so try a class! Jensen has been a great addition to the Parado Ohana! read more

Blake the owner and his wife are sooo cool and nice! I have some health issues that limit me somewhat but he has been able to work around them and really cater to my needs and what I want to achieve which is just more muscle because I have none. Haha So I've been paying for the personal training 2x a week or 8 sessions which is $540. Go on their website and it will have all the set costs for what you are willing to do like 1/week up to 3-4x/ week. Very reasonable. They also have group classes. 50 min sessions and what they have me doing is a lot of variety that works out your whole body! Never bored, it's challenging for my level and I've been going on 4 months and I've gained some muscle and lost some fat!! They also have an inbody scan where it can measure your body fat and muscle percentages and periodically you can scan to see progress! I'm very satisfied so I save my money to continue to do this because I am seeing noticeable results that might be slow but it's slow and steady that wins and you're doing it the healthy way! They have different trainers as well and the ones I've worked with so far are friendly and very nice! No judgments and all encouragement. I believe there is parking in the pucks ally building. The gym is on the second floor, small space but is efficient with all their equipment. People of all ages, young and elder, beginner or advanced work out here and it's very welcoming and comfortable. They use a lot of free weights and barbell? And trx bands. They don't have too many machines but they do have a few. read more

I've been going for ~6 years now. Quality of coaching and flexibility are why I've stayed so long. I do semi-private personal training but they offer pay-as-you-go group classes all the way up to one-on-one, scheduled personal training+nutrition coaching. No long-term contracts required, which is nice. You can set a recurring schedule or schedule it yourself via app. Having a qualified coach plan my workouts and then ensure I'm doing it effectively is incredibly helpful. I've been able to do way more with 1 hour a week here than I used with 4 hours on my own. Age ranges of clients varies quite a bit, too. I've seen teenagers thru retirees. The coaches have even been able to build workout plans for my grandma, who's in her 90s. Parking also very easy. read more

I've been coming to the group classes for about a year and a half. Randomly decided to try it after reading reviews on yelp and really glad I took a chance. The classes are challenging but the coaches somehow make them fun at the same time. The others in the class are super friendly and were very welcoming to the "new girl.". I would recommend Parado Power. read more

Fabulous gym with wonderful trainers. When you put in the effort you'll feel the results immediately!

When I first sat down with Blake to discuss my fitness ambitions, I was nearing 290lb and 37% body fat. A former United States Marine, I had been in far better shape in my life than the pitiful shape I had let myself fall into at that point. More than that, I had lost hope of ever getting back to a place where I was happy with what I saw in the mirror. This was my last shot before I hung up the towel and accepted what I believed to be an inevitable, sad reality. That was March 2024. As I write this review only 5 months later, the biggest problem I have is that I have to go buy new clothes because, after losing almost 50lb and 6% of my body fat, nothing fits me anymore. Not only was the experience I had with Blake and Jensen, the trainer with whom I did most of my work, physically transformative, but the psychological benefit has been immeasurable. Before where I expected that my condition was permanent, I now have the faith and confidence that I can set and achieve new and bigger fitness goals in the months and years to come. I have more energy, a more positive outlook on all things, and I'm pretty happy with what the mirror shows me. 3hrs a week, that's all it took. If you have three hours a week and goals for your physical fitness and nutrition, then you can stop looking for a solution, it is here. read more

So Happy to be back with my Trainer Blake who I've been with since 2013 after having a hip replaced in 2018. I love his and Keri's new gym, so clean & breezy and lots of parking right at the front door. This is the place to be if you want to build strength and be in a positive happy environment. I do personal sessions but the other members in the group classes seem really nice too and look like they are always having fun while working hard. Blake always changes things up and makes a great program for me. I feel so much better and stronger in such a short period of time. read more

I was looking for a place to keep up with all-around fitness training while visiting family in Honolulu for two weeks, and the group classes at Parado Power were perfect! Blake was really friendly and helpful to me and my brother, making sure we felt comfortable in the space and guiding us through the workouts. The workouts themselves were great: intense/efficient, varied (we used many different pieces of equipment over the 4 classes we attended), and surprisingly fun! Our fellow group fitness classgoers were also really nice and made us feel very welcomed, you can tell that there's a really strong and supportive community of regulars. I'll definitely come back here when I return to Honolulu, thank you so much Blake and the Parado Power family! read more

I worked remotely in Hawaii for a month and wanted to get into shape after a year of being mostly indoors. I searched online and glad I found Parado Power and Blake from all the good reviews. I did Blake's semi private personal training sessions and this was the best decision I've made all year. His clients come from all age ranges and body types and makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. This is not a bro-y/intimidating atmosphere at all. Throughout my month, Blake understood where I was at physically and pushed me where I needed to be pushed and also understood my limits. By my last session, I was definitely in much better shape and better stamina from when I started. Any remote workers or anyone looking to kickoff their fitness goals after a rough 2020+, definitely consider Parado Power. You won't regret it. I'll definitely be back when I'm on Oahu. read more

Even through this COVID-19 pandemic, Parado Power continues to be the best gym on the island. During the stay at home orders, Blake and Keri provided (and continue to provide) fitness classes through Zoom and also developed an amazing library of follow along workouts to do safely at home. When gyms were able to open up, many safety protocols like temperature checks, strict cleaning procedures, and reduced class sizes were implemented at the gym. Their dedication to their gym and clients is commendable. You gotta be part of this gym community! Blake and Keri will work so hard to help you meet and keep your fitness goals and make sure you're doing it safely. read more

Even amongst other members, the environment is just enjoyable, no complaints at all. Becoming a member at Parado Power is one of the best decisions I've made for myself. read more

Blake is AWESOME, and I love working out at Parado Power I was in Hawaii for work for a month and needed a home-base, so I evaluated several gyms/programs here before choosing to go with Parado. Blake switches the workouts from day to day, so it's never boring and consistently challenging for different parts of your body. The worksouts are also a great mixture of strength (with weights, kettlebells, and other equipment) and cardio/HIIT. The workouts can be challenging for seasoned people or adjusted depending on your own level. Blake is very good about showing people how to do things and checking form. Also because of the frequency of classes offered on a daily basis, it's never packed which is nice. What I especially love about Parado Power v. other options is Blake does focus on glute and core/ab training (areas that I feel like other lifting/strength gyms often lack) which is great not only for obviously injury prevention, but also booty gains and abs. Everyone that works out here are also lovely, Blake is such a wonderful and thoughtful trainer and it truly feels like a family. HIGHLY recommended if you trying to find a gym family OR if you're here for a week or a month and want a home base or to drop in. read more

I admit it...I've cycled through almost every gym and fitness craze to hit Oahu. I was an Orangetheory diehard for a couple years, then spun through F45, and made my way through a few cycling, barre, and CrossFit spots along the way. Finally, I have found the place. Parado Power is the perfect mix of strength training, cardio, and HIIT training. There are none of the usual gym cliques or to worry about. From day one, everyone has been welcoming and friendly. I drag myself to 8am weekend workouts even when I've worked till 2am. So, guess I'm sort of addicted... I'm starting to see true muscle definition for the first time in over a year and I have more power for running hills and training for a half-marathon coming up. As a super active kid in High school, I've had incurred many sports injuries. As I got older my muscles started to shrink and since I was constantly sitting on the chair at work, my lower back muscles started to hurt and the extra covid weight gain definitely did not help with my situation. When I met Blake they gym owner for my consultation he explained to me that since I had those sports injuries, they can definitely modify exercises and that was one of the reasons why I decided to sign up. I have been going to Parado and each time I go, I'm getting stronger, and stronger. The pain I have on my lower back has been subsiding as well. My recent Dr. Visits also show my vitals and blood test as way healthier then last year. My Dr. Also told me "whatever you are doing you should keep it up cause you are definitely heading to the healthy trend" . The whole team at Parado has been so encouraging and supportive that I feel like I've found "the gym" ! Their mobile app to schedule your classes is super easy to use as well! read more
