I wanted to take a "few" classes before I wrote my review on Yelp for Blake. I suppose 50+ classes is enough? I know it shows that I've only checked in 40 something times but really, those are the times that I remember to check in. That alone shows you how much I love coming to Parado Power! I AM THE DUKE!
I attend the bootcamp classes 3-4 times a week. I originally came from EC Fitness (see my review on that) and Blake has taken over this role as my trainer since my prior gym closed. It is located at the same place as EC once was. At first I was skeptical because I didn't think anybody could replace my old trainer, but Blake quickly put me at ease. He is patient, calm, and concise in his instruction. He is able to handle classes that range in sizes from as few as 1 (personal training) to over 20 at times. I am amazed at the various levels of fitness that everybody is in that comes to bootcamp, yet we are all able to work out together and get stronger together!
For the ladies that are interested, it helps that he is easy on the eyes, and I've overheard the girls that come to class say he has a nice butt. But don't get it twisted, he's married so no touchy! (Sorry Blake, didn't mean to embarrass you)
The classes vary from class to class, and while some days are cardio, others are about balancing your body out, and some days are for improving strength. This gives a good range of variety so that you don't get bored. There has not been a single class where I've come out of the hour and said "That's it? I need to go workout somewhere some more" I feel my hour has always been maximized with productive training.
Recently I have had some personal goals to attain, and Blake went out of his way to formulate a way to help me attain these goals. I hope to reap the fruits of my labor shortly.
Despite all my physical ailments from abusing my body in my younger days, such as carpal tunnel, bad right shoulder, bad right knee, bad left ankle, gout attacks, I am able to continue to work out regularly. This alone proves that ANYBODY can train here and get in better shape.
The gym is clean, towels and water are provided, the people that work out here are a joy to be around, it is conveniently located at Puck's Alley on the second floor, and there is ample parking which is a god send. Have you tried to park at some other gyms? It's insane.
Finally, I'm happy that he has continued the tradition of providing an optional "recovery shake" at the end of the class. After a few months I think he has gotten the formula down and it is delicious! :P
Come down and check Parado Power out, you cannot place a price on your health, and I wholeheartedly recommend Blake to anybody that is even considering starting a fitness journey to give it a shot. read more
