I was a bit hesitant because of the mixxy reviews on this place but I'm glad a went it was a cool getaway nothing much to complain about it was relaxing . Check in was a breeze the woman at the desk was very pleasant and held conversation and gave us information on things to do around the property . I stayed in the garden of eden Apple suites , the room was really cute it was clean me & my boyfriend really enjoyed it . The property seemed to be up kept to me it gave me that old school kind of vibe . I also really enjoyed the fact the resort had things planned for their guests to do and a number of free activities . While here I played mini golf, basketball, horse and carriage ride & went to the club for there game night . I went during the week so the place wasn't to crowded . This was emailed to Paradise Stream and to Guest Reservations and I received no response so I'm taking it to the people. We stayed in Paradise Stream in a Champagne Towers Suite. We are Gold Forever Lovers and have stayed at both Cove Haven and Paradise Stream multiples times. This trip was nothing short of disastrous at best. When we first entered the room, it smelled like smoke from a fire. Nothing changed about that the entire visit. We unpacked and I laid on the bed in the "updated" suite only to find out the bed was as hard as a rock. Instead of complaining and relocating, we decided to go buy a bed topper from a nearby Walmart. We returned and the room still smelled like smoke. Stayed overnight. Awoke next morning and went to breakfast only to have to wait 1 hour to be served. 1 hour for an omelet and some potatoes and meat since I am unable to tolerate eggs. Let me add in here that there were only 12 couples registered and maybe 4 of those couples were in the dining room. Upon leaving breakfast, we went to the Front Desk to voice our concerns about the mattress, the smokey smell in the room and the lack of responsiveness in the dining room and having to wait one hour for breakfast when there was barely anyone there. The Front Desk Manager said she would send someone up to check the fireplace but didn't address any of our other issues. We saw a maintenance man before we left but never heard anything about the fireplace. We assumed it was taken care of. We left and went to spend the day offsite. Upon our return, the room still smelled like smoke. We did light a fire log around 4 pm. Went to dinner and returned. Fell asleep around 10:30 only to wake up at around midnight to choking on smoke and my husband coughing. My husband went downstairs and there were a few embers in the fireplace and the suite was smoky up by the lights. I opened the front door and began to fan the smoke out. We turned the AC downstairs on constant fan. The fire alarm never went off. We cleared the suite out enough to try to go back to sleep. I was seriously considering leaving and driving the hours and a half drive home because I was afraid of what was going to happen for the rest of the night. When we awoke we went to breakfast and the front desk. AGAIN, we waited 1 hour to eat. At that point, I was TOTALLY AGGRAVATED and went to the front desk to tell our horror story. Manager came out and said did maintenance come yesterday (again ignoring our complaint about the dining room). We were like we think so. She said she would send someone up to the room but offered no apology or compensation for our waking in the middle of the night to smoke issue. Upon our return to the suite to pack, there was a log lit. Another maintenance person spoke to my husband and said he thought it was a backdraft that filled up the suite with smoke. I have no idea what the maintenance man the day before did. We were disgusted with the entire visit and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I feel sorry for the next person to stay in the suite where CLEARLY you have an issue with the fireplace. I have stayed in MANY Champagne towers and have NEVER had a suite smell like that the entire time or something happen like that. I don't believe we will be returning to the resort. Next time, we will just go to Mount Airy. I don't know how you could renovate a suite and still leave it with issues with the fireplace or have a resort with 12 couples where you have to wait an hour for breakfast. It is sad that even with the renovations, there are no people staying at the resort during fall foliage season in Pennsylvania. read more

My husband and I were very excited to stay at Paradise Steam Resort until we stayed in the Diana's Osáis room. It smelled moldy from the AC and the was lint and dust on the walls. I didn't bother saying anything and let it ride till my husband suggested we should get into heart shaped jacuzzi to relax. So I ran water and put jets on and found dirt and filth after I ran the water THREE times. After we couldn't get tub clean we just took that as a loss. So one day we went to have the appetizers at cafe when there was mold in my food! A female manager was apologetic and up graded us to the champagne room. Which we didn't mind since we were disappointed with the room we were in anyway. Then we went to have dinner at the restaurant and there's dust all along the wall and next to the tables. This place is in need of a face lift! We are nearly in 2020 not 1980. Especially the doors to get into the room. We had to call maintenance three times to get us into our rooms after driving back and forth several times to get new rooms keys. I wouldn't recommend paradise stream not would I return. Maybe try cove haven to give it a second chance. read more

My husband and I were dying to come here after seeing the numerous advertisements on TV. We took a quick trip from Sunday - Monday which we booked through Groupon. All in all this is a very nice place, we stayed in the champagne tower suite which was very cozy and private. We checked in late and it was raining, so we did not get a chance to participate much in the outdoor activities. However there is a pool hall/game room that also has a indoor heated pool and jacuzzi which is nice. I can't rate the food since we decided not to choose the all inclusive package due to the numerous bad reviews we read on here. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms. When my husband and I went into our private pool, we noticed that there were crumbs all around the sides of the pool. When we actually went in it looked like there were some more crumb particles floating around. We were highly disappointed at the laziness of the cleaning staff to clean up this mess! The bathroom stalls looked like they were not cleaned properly as well. I would have rated this place as 4 stars, however I took a star off due to the above mentioned issues we had with the room. The concept of the hotel is great and unique! The staff was friendly and helpful .. The room was extremely outdated .. and smelled horrible ! The pictures on their website were very deceiving . We went for my bday weekend Feb 16-17 2014 and I wanted to do something different and fun. Well, let me start by saying that we arrived there at 4pm our room wasn't ready. So the manager suggested to go to their cafe and have lunch. The cafe smelled bad to me and the so called chef/cooker was the take order/cooker/cash register guy. His cooking area didn't look kosher to me so we left and had lunch at Wendy's. To kill time we visited the shopping outlets and by 5:30 pm we decided to go back to the resort so we can have our room and shower and change for our romantic dinner. That was not the case. Our room was still not available and it was almost 6 pm. WTH!!! I was so frustrated so the manager was nice and was apologizing for the delay and offer us a free drink. So we went to the bar had a drink. Our drinks were horrible. Still no room, we decided to have dinner and my food was horrible. I order the ravioli shrimp/sausage pasta and it looked and tasted bad. The waiter offered to give me another choice so I went with their prime steak and that was ok. Finally at 6:45 we get a call that our room was ready. The room was nicely warm and everything in the room looked and smelled clean. We had a nice round bed with a heart shape Jacuzzi and a private mini pool in our room. I must say the decor was cute. We made the best of our stay but I won't stay there again especially for the money we paid. It wasn't worth it. read more

We had such a wonderful time at its sister property Pocono Palace two years ago that we decided to try this resort for a short honeymoon. Big disappointment. Short staffed, horrendous overly-salted food and very stale desserts (both my husband and I left there looking like blimps we were so swollen), depressing dining room, uninspired activities--especially for Valentines Day weekend, tiny pool and jacuzzi...we stayed in Diana's Oasis this time rather than the Champagne Suite in PP. And B-rated entertainment at best. The Thursday night comic was such a hack we left 5 minutes into his pathetic act. The main center was so poorly insulated, most people kept their winter coats on because it was just so cold and breezy particularly in the bar lounge. Worst is the staff at the front desk upon checkout didn't bother to ask how or if we enjoyed our stay. Overall bad and highly priced experience...we paid a total $1250 for four days/three nights on a AAA discount. Never again. Big nod to the housekeeping and restaurant staff however who were wonderful. read more

I'll give this resort a 3.5. My wife and I came here for a few days to get away, this is our first time at a "ski"resort. Overall, the room was cool! Nice jacuzzi and private pool inside the room. The pool isn't big enough to really swim in it, but it's comfortable to chill and relax in. The surrounding area is nice too, we stayed in the garden of eden and behind us was a nice flowing stream. This place is nice but could use a huge renovation. The room did has a considerable amount of dust in areas which I've read from other reviews. The biggest and I mean biggest downfall is the FOOD. This is an "all inclusive" resort but the food is horrible. The salad bar was the best thing here. We went to the seafood night and ordered "stuffed flounder with crabmeat" and bygawd I couldn't eat it. It had absolutely no taste, the crab meat tasted like the canned meat and lacked of seasoning; horrible. The potatoes au gratin I swear they put sheet cheese on it and the broccoli bland. The breakfast wasnt worth anything neither, omelette bland and had the ends of tomato in it. Anyway, prob won't return. This place is affordable yes, rooms decent, but the food was horrible for what you pay for. read more

The food here was incredibly disappointing. My boyfriend and I spent 3 days here and the outdoor activities and pool were very nice. Drinks were reasonably priced and tasty but overall, this place looks like it was built in the 80's and hasn't been updated since. Our room decor felt sleazy. I get that it's a resort that is catered to couples but I couldn't help but feel like if I ran a black light though our room, I'd run for the hills. This place needs two things desperately: a decor update and a new chef. We had high expectations for the food from this all-inclusive resort. I ordered Thai Chicken the first night from the Dining Room and it was clearly frozen. Not crispy at all like you'd expect breaded chicken to be. Is it really that hard to get fresh chicken out to the Poconos? The vegetables were unedible. The broccoli was a strange mint color and the mashed potatoes were lumpy and hard. The strawberry shortcake dessert was a mess. This kitchen is clearly cutting corners. We won't be going back...unless we catch Paradise Stream on an episode of Restaurant Impossible. read more

on a good note, everyone was very nice. the nightly entertainment was fun. and the courtesy shuffle to and from the casino was a nice touch. now to the reality of the situation. this place was about $500. per night. for that kind of money, i expected class and luxury. it was cheesy and bland. the pool room had drywall pieces on the floor. the wall behind the front door was rotten. the room itself was outdated. it had the same Egyptian theme that was there 15 years ago when my co worker went there. the shower stall was stained and i had to stoop down to rinse. (I'm only 6' not a basketball player). it was also billed as an "all inclusive" not hardly! alcohol is outrageous. $6.00 beer and $8.00 house wines? lunch is extra. FIRE LOGS are extra. snacks, you guessed it EXTRA. bottom line is for the money, i could have gone to the Caribbean and stayed at sandals where all inclusive means something and you get your moneys worth. the hotel wasn't horrible, but in my mind with my travel experience, anything over $150 per night is a rip off. read more

I could not have been happier. I was skeptical when I read some reviews, but let me tell you - I am not an avid reviewer, I normally don't review stuff unless it's amazing or horrible and this was AMAZING. My husband & I after 16 years fell in love all over again with each other. The resort, is right down the street from Mt. Airy casino and there is plenty to do outside the resort too to venture out. Sadly, we only booked one night, but next time babysitter is booked for 2 nights for sure. We were greeted at the hotel lobby by a nice gentleman who upgraded us to a Garden suite with a private pool in the room. He gave us a list of activities for the day - they have pool parties, fun games for couples, mini golf, shuffle board, bocci ball - a 24/7 open game room with some arcade games which you need tokens for, billard tables ( those are free btw), ping pong and basketball hoops. At night, they have a bar, comedian, but from what I read it could be a magician, or something else, but they also had a live band. We did karaoke and had so much fun. ALL of the couples we seen were so friendly - Always a hello, how are you guys! The only "bad" thing is there are a lot of birds and such meaning watch where you step but that is NOT the fault of the resort - that's nature. There is a cute little lake where you can paddleboat also. We paid for the inclusive so we had dinner, an amazing buffet and breakfast was the same, buffet but you can get omelets or pancakes made special to order also. I don't know who complained about the food, but when I say we were full, we were insanely full. In the room itself- the bed is round, we had a heart shaped jacuzzi, a bose music system - The pool is small, it's not an olympic size pool or anything but come on now - it's a pool - in YOUR room - what's better than that. My Husband and I visited this resort weekend of Jan 24,2014. We arrived at 7:30pm check in was swift and straight forward. I genuinely had a great time.We booked the "Garden Of Eden Apple Suite", The decor was very out dated, the TV was very old but worked great! the Furinture was reminicent of the 80's and red carpet seemed a bit much. But overlooking that, the heart shaped Jacuzzi in the sitting area was lovely, The round king sized bed was very comfortable and clean,there was a private pool leding in from the bedroom THAT was incredible with a sauna to top it off! The "Duraflame" Fireplace was amazing and pulled together a very romantic getaway. The resturant served All you can Eat * weather it was sit down or Buffet style , the food was very good! After dinner there was a live band "POP ROX" they were amazing, the drinks were affordable (Premium beer for less than some domestics in NYC) after the live band we enjoyed Brad Lowery's comedy show and kept me laughing since i left. We plan to go again soon I would give this place 5 stars but the decor relly needs to be taken care of. read more

We were not very impressed with this place. I purchased the race package. First off, when I originally booked the stay, I was told I would receive an email with all the information I needed about our stay and race weekend. I never received even after calling back twice. I haven't even gotten a receipt from the place as of yet (3 weeks ago). Secondly, the bridge that led from the main thoroughfare was closed for construction. We could see the resort from the other side of the bridge, but had to back track about 4 miles to get around to the other side.. This is something that they should tell you about when you are booking. It wasn't shown on GPS that it was under construction either. We just finished a 5 hour drive and were a bit miffed at the fact we had to backtrack. Third, the room was very run down and dirty. It was on the little lake, which was nice. But the trees and vegetation were so overgrown it blocked the view of the water from the patio area. When we got there, the patio had some goose poop in a couple of spots. We called to have someone come clean it but it took them a whole day to come out, after we asked for a second time. We saw a mouse on the last day of our stay luckily. The outside of the villa was dilapidated and falling apart. The rest of the resort was just ok, however there was goose poop everywhere. The basketball court, the archery range, and much of the grassy areas. It also seemed like it was pretty run down. Which I didn't see in the video online. In fact, the video for this location had clips from the other locations in their chain. Seems we were misled about how nice the place was. It really needs a face lift and some maintenance. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was for the food. Dining was a fantastic experience. But after thinking back about the whole trip, I don't feel like I got my money's worth. I won't go back unfortunately. It had the potential for being a great trip, but fell way short. I paid a lot of money for 3 nights all inclusive. Ok, so I'm back from the paradise stream and I must say I'm disappointed. I had a living social deal this time around and I'm glad I did as everything seems so expensive. Well lets start with my room, it was dirty, bathroom had mildew on the tile, pool area had a dirty cover on it, and jacuzzi had a weird grime on it, like if it wasn't cleaned properly. The air conditioner in the room needs to be upgraded and fast. It seems to only blow out cold air about 5 mins every hour meanwhile I'm sweating my ass off just sitting in my room. The fridge was blowing colder air then the AC. Bed is a bit uncomfortable, and sheets felt like wool. Now on to the food, breakfast was ok. Didn't feel to good after eating the omelette but that's most likely because I like real eggs and not a substitution. Cocktail hour was alright, bingo isn't huge in the 20-30 year old range of fun. The good was ok. Drinks are ridiculously priced and suck, yea, drinks suck. Go to the liquor store down the road and get a bottle. It's cheaper and it won't taste like cough syrup. Dinner was a buffet the first night and it was pretty good, the soup bar was excellent. That night in the club a comedian and a band performed. The band was better then the comedian. When the comedian came up me and my wife decided to leave. Mt Airy casino has a much better night club for the younger crowd. Following morning, breakfast wasn't that good. Food was cold. Not much flavor. Even the coffee tasted off. There is a lot of activities to do in the resort but there isn't much that I would consider fun. The bicycles need a tune up, game room robs my tokens, pool tables are uneven and pool sticks are warped. Mini golf needs to be updated. I left the resort and went to the shooting range instead. Dinner that night was strip night. Me and my wife both had NY strips that night. I would have to say 30% of the steak was actually steak and the rest was fat. Horrible cut of steaks. Soups were horrible, had no flavor. I had French onion and it looked like a cup of oil with a bread stick in it. That night in the club, I decided not to go back to my room and get hammered and decided to have a mojito at the bar. It tasted like the used lake water to rinse the glass and never washed the mint leaves. Comedian performed that was better then the night before, but the band sucked. I found myself heading right back to my airy casino for a better time. All in all even with a living social deal I spent roughy $1000 bucks on the resort for 2 nights. I must say. I'm not happy. I think this place needs more activities for a younger crowd. Keep the bingo and ping pong for the older couples but add something different for the younger crowd who is more agile. Don't send us off the resort to enjoy ourselves. I would have no problem spending money so I don't have to drive. After all I drove 3 hours to get there!! Add better tasting drinks and really ask yourself if its worth 9$ a pop. Upgrade some amenities. Maybe a coffee maker in the room. A DVD player so I don't have to spend 15$ for porn. A mini bar at a extra cost. Freaking wi-fi would be amazing! Maybe this is just me, maybe I just had bad luck this time around. I honestly had better expectations this time around, but again I find myself giving this place a negative review. And no thanks to the reservation department who can't seem to link my past reservations together so I can join the forever lovers club. 2 stars I say. 1 star for edible food, and another star because it was still a getaway. read more

If you're in your mid 20's, live in a city or used to going to high-end places, and thinking about coming here; please read the rest of my review to give you an idea of what you're getting yourself into My fiancee and I ended up here yesterday by mistake when my father bought a Living Social and wasn't able to use it. Thank GOD this was a free getaway because I NEVER would have chosen or paid to stay at this place. First of all, this place looks like it was designed and built in the 70's and hasn't been touched since. Driving up into the parking, there is a huge cheesy red heart sign that says "You are entering the land of love" and on the back says "You look beautiful baby!". I got out of the car and started laughing because the place just looked like a joke. I immediately felt a little trashy. We arrived at 10:30 and checked in. The staff was OK, they seemed a little blaze. The building as well as the staff seemed to be extremely outdated. We walked into the dining room and it was just a big room with tables. No decor, style or design...just ugly wall paper. We were told to help ourselves to the buffet. The food was borderline edible except for the fresh strawberries. After we got our food and sat down, a waitress came over to serve us coffee and THEN told us that if we wanted omelets, pancakes or anything else from the kitchen to let her know. Why was this not the first thing we were asked upon being seated?? I would have never taken ANY of the buffet food if I knew we could order our own meal. The service was terrible and everyone just looked like a zombie. I completely understand why though as their service to the costumers doesn't matter. We don't leave them cash tips based their service, the tips are already included with the guests stay. There is no reason for a server to go out of their way and offer excellent service when they already know how much their making in tips. It's a terrible concept. You would never know by the outside of the building that the rooms are not that bad. It looks like a porno is about to be tapped, but it's not as terrible as I thought. The bathroom is really nice and it's a spacious room. The round bed is so weird and the mattress is UNBEARABLY uncomfortable. Like sleeping on sheet rock. The hot tub next to the bed was nice and actually very clean. The weirdest and creepiest part of the room is what they call a "private pool". There was a door in our room that led to a little room with a fire place and a "pool". i have nooo idea what they think people are going to do in this pool, considering it looks about 3ft deep and 5ft wide, but i found it super nasty haha. Clearly there is no swimming going on in that thing...ewwww! So basically, your choices of things to do there during the day are pretty lame. Bball court, archery, volleyball, pool, game room....womp womp. They have an extremely pathetic excuse for a mini golf course and other little corny activities planned. If you want lunch, LEAVE. The spooner's cafe is really gross and the guy behind the counter is just a sweaty mess and not friendly at all. We went to the pocono brewing company for lunch and beers and that was the best part of the whole experience. If you're a really active young person, there is literally nothing for you to do on the grounds. Dinner was just awwwwwful and the only reason why we went was bc we didn't feel like spending any more money. We walked in and were seated in the WORST TABLE ever! It was wedged in between an exit door and the waiters station. This should never have even been a table. When she saw i obviously wasn't happy, she looked at me with her nasty face and said "this the the only table available!". It wasn't the only table available, it was just the only table that was clean. Why not just clean off and re set another table, i would have rather waited 5 mins. Again, TERRIBLE service. The waitress came over and we ordered. The food was clearly not made to order or fresh. Most of it was frozen. The soup tasted like salt water, the salad was pathetic and the cod wasn't edible. I clearly didn't eat it or like it and when the unfriendly inexperienced waitress and came to clear the table, she obviously didn't care about our experience. We ordered drinks from the cocktail waitress and they were just terrible. Strong as heck but obviously they use rubbing alcohol for vodka. Everything was just ICK and the music was dreadful! The after dinner entertainment was a band, a comedian and rockeoke (stupid). The band was just ok and the comedian was really funny. We had to leave after that because we couldn't stand the awkwardness of people getting up on stage and making a fool of themselves. It felt like we were stuck on a terrible cruise ship. They market this place as a romantic getaway, but there is nothing sexy going on here. 80% of the staff is overweight, unattractive and just odd. It's all wrong!! I stayed in the garden of Eden from October 3-5 2015, I was worried after reading al the reviews but my stay was wonderful. We had room 318. It was clean and cozy. Housekeeping came on our 2 day while we were out and cleaned. The inside pool was warm , the jacuzzi was relaxing . The bed was comfortable. The staff at check in and check out were great I forgot their names but they were pleasant and professional. We didn't try the food but next time we will. We will definitely return. Oh we were there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. So When the guy I am dating surprised me with a trip here I was excited, but upon arrival to resort I was very disappointed by the look of place. Very run down and in need of a revamp! Then we got our room. Room is outdated and tvs were older then us but the worst thing was the snake swimming in our personnel pool. I called front desk and they said someone would come but 30 mins later I drive down to desk and said they never got call!!! Meanwhile we r in room w snake... And our Bose system is older then molasses and can't be fixed they said ha! So they moved us to an upgrade of a champagne tower room and the hot water won't turn on in the shower or jacuzzi tub so I call and they say someone will come but once again 30 mins and no one so I drive to office again. And get this, they charge us for upgrade even though it's there fault the place sucks!! The cxo they have hates being there and is always angry and treats couples like dirt. Oh and food? Don't get all inclusive bc it's frozen food reheated pretty much. I would not take my worst enemy here. Oh and as I go to put my phone down I notice the half inch of dust on headboard!! We recently stayed at Paradise Stream (Dianas Oasis) for one quick night gateway. It was our first time there. I was very skeptical because of the mixed reviews. Two major things I was mostly concerned about. Cleanliness and privacy. I was very surprised entering the room. The room was just perfect.!!! Super clean and neat. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Is it outdated like people say?? Yes!! specially the restaurant décor. The food was very average but not horrible. Desserts definitely need more effort. The lounge was nice. DJ played a variety of music and we had decent drinks for the price. Overall experience GOOD!! I would go back another time. Is this place for you?? it depends on what are you looking for. I you want something super modern and chic this is not the place for you, but if you are looking to spend some quiet, relaxing, quality time as a couple you will probably enjoy it :) read more

I want to come visit this place again so badly I came here 5 years ago for my honeymoon, however I was pregnant at the time and couldn't do much per my Obgyn. My husband had a blast tho! We had the room that was the garden of Eden Apple was a beautiful suite a bit outdated tho. I did love the round bed it's something different and gives the room a more romantic look. We had a pool and a jacuzzi in our room sucks I couldn't enjoy that either but my health and my babies health was more important. We really didn't spend much time in the room as we were out roaming around the resort. Pretty fun resort I must say all inclusive breakfast and dinner lunch in out of your own pocket. They have a cute cafe where you can get lunch and it's priced fairly. Entertainment is not my type honestly I'm not into comedians or wannabe singers. I'm into a good dj that plays today's music and a good dance floor to dance all night long on. I guess I'm still to young for this place lol. The location was beautiful and the resort scenery was nice. The check-in agents were nice and knowledgable and gave us some pointers for our stay. That, aside from the food, was the most enjoyable part of the trip. The room concept was a great idea but poorly executed and even worse, old and worn out. There was packing tape on the walls holding down the wall paper, the bathroom light didn't work, the carpets were completely worn out, there were numerous stains all over the furniture, the bed was rock hard and the ceiling was literally falling apart. Those, unfortunately, weren't all the short comings. There is a small "pool" in the room which is a fantastic idea however there was no way of telling how clean the water was. The filter didn't run once and the water wasn't exactly see through. To make matters worse, the A/C in the room was subpar. And by subpar, I mean BAD. We even heard of other couples complaining at the front desk about theirs too. There was no microwave in the room however one was located in the 24/7 game room. The mood lighting, again while a great idea, was barely visible and sparse. It was hard to tell it was on and didn't do anything to creat a romantic ambiance. Also, the room service took a while. I ordered my meal at 1115pm and didn't receive it until 1220am. There was also a $4 service charge on top of the over priced food. As mentioned before, the food was pretty good. Not the $106 for 4 meals we were charged good but edible. Dinner was nice with soup, salad, entree and dessert. Breakfast was good too as it was a buffet with lots of items. There was also a nightclub in the resort as well as a massage parlor with incredibly over-priced packages. There was also an outdoor pool area with bar however we didn't visit it. Overall, you're paying a hefty price for a less than enjoyable experience. The idea and concept of the resort is incredible. The execution was abysmal. I would not recommend this resort to any of my friends or family. read more

Wish i had the option to give it no stars. I had a reservation for Saturday March 03 and was very excited to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend with my boyfriend. After a three hour ride from New York and a very bad experience due to the snow they had. When we finally arrived to the resort, they informs us that we have to go back home due to that they are evacuating. I understand that the weather is nothing we could control but the way the staff had no sympathy or consideration for all of us that had travel to get here was outrageous. They couldn't even give us a call or send us an email before doing that whole trip. They stated they didn't have no electricity but when we walk in there was music playing and all the lights on and again everybody has cellphones. They didn't even offer us to give us a refund right there or even another place we could stay at, since we was so far away from home. The staff acted as if we was walking distance from our home. I work for the hotel industry and this unacceptable we would never treat our guest this way as if we didn't spend time or money to get here. It just unbelievable how u could make ppl travel from so far away to then just send them back. read more

It's okay to be for a night or so. Pros: there's a personal pool and jacuzzi in the Diana Oasis suite, so I was pleased with the privacy. Cons: it does have a motel vibe and the jets in the jacuzzi weren't clean and had visible mildew so we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy this feature. The food in the all inclusive deal could've been better as it lacked flavor and wasn't freshly made (the plates were hotter than the food, so we know it was microwaved). Had a great time away from home!! Had so much fun at the inside pool and hot tub. The bar on site was amazing!! Had so much fun!! Will 100% return. My only complaint was that our jacuzzi tub smelled when you turned the jets on. Also some weird floaty residue came out. But over all it was an amazing trip!! read more

My boyfriend and I just got back from a great 2 night 3 day trip for our anniversary. We stayed in a champagne tower suite and we had an amazing time. The room was very spacious and we even had our own indoor pool and sauna. My only complaint about the room was that it was a little run down and the bathroom smelt kinda moldy but other than that we had a great time and really enjoyed each other's company. We did the all inclusive package and it was so worth it. They had a lot of options for dinner and breakfast was all you can eat. My boyfriend is kosher and he was very limited on what he could eat but they were very accommodating and gave him other options. There were many things to do and we wished we could've stayed another night. My only other complaint was the front desk staff when we checked in/out as they were a little rude. Everyone else was very nice and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time together and can't wait to return! read more

My girlfriend and I on a whim bought a LivingSocial deal for the Diana's Oasis for two nights. We had previously stayed at one of their sister properties Pocono Palace about a month before, we enjoyed our stay and figured lets try this one too. Upon walking into the room, we noticed a funky musk smell from the bathroom (deemed it not worthy of calling about.) The rest of the room seemed all right, minus the cigarette ashes in the pool area (asked for non-smoking.) Went about our first night having dinner in a windowless dining room, with inattentive sub-par wait staff, again its the Poconos, you don't go there for service, so still not a deal breaker for us. Hit the nightclub for a few drinks, with heavy handed bartender (would have loved them in college...) Fast forward, next day we take in what the property has to offer from a small game room to small pond to a couples message. Noticing along the way that Pocono Palace was a much nicer property from amenities to the staff. We turned in early, my girlfriend woke up about 4 am saying she had a bug bite, I said it must have been a mosquito at the pond earlier in the day, ten minutes later she jumps out of bed and says there's a bug on my pillow. I jump up turn on the lights and see this little bug running around her pillow. I got a tissue and caught it, and placed it into a water bottle. She then says she has several other bites down her arm and one on her face. I quick Google what a bed bug looks like and find out what no travel ever wants to face, Bed Bugs. We went to the check in desk and the gentleman informed us they are sold out (like we would want a new room), he promised someone would contact me and to call LivingSocial for what they can do. We walked back to our room and found another one running around my pillow that dropped to the floor. We left the property and had to find a laundromat. It's now been a full week since we checked out at 430 am, and still no call nor refund for the taxes and gratuities they we paid on site. I even called and left a message on the manager's vmail to contact me, still nothing. My girlfriend's arm swelled up and looked like the marshmallow man's arm, thankfully the bite on her face didn't swell like that. It's still unbelievable to me that no one was bother to call, especially since I asked for a return call. By the way, LivingSocial immediately refund us, and made follow up inquires like a good business should. My girlfriend is now pulls the bed apart every time she gets in for fear that she brought them home! read more

My wife and I decided at the last minute to take a quick getaway after the Christmas holiday for one night. Originally, we planned to stay at the Mt. Airy Casino hotel, but it was booked, so we selected Paradise Stream Resort instead. We're not entirely sure , but we may have been there over 23 years ago for our first wedding anniversary. I had hopes that these resorts had been updated since then....sadly...I was wrong. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly front desk person. She verified our reservation and then without request, "upgraded" our room to include a pool and sauna. We arrived after dark and had some difficulty finding the room as the lighting is not good throughout the facility. One in, we opened the door and were immediately hit by the strong smell of chlorine. The room was big, with a seating area and drop-down to the round bed and fireplace area. It also had a heart shaped tub, but we decided quickly there was no way we were going in it. Let's start with what's wrong with Paradise Stream Resort. 1. Carpet must have been there for a least 20 years. Old, red and dirty. 2. Heart shaped tub appeared dirty and very old. 3. Shower stall barely big enough for 1 person, much less two (this is a couples resort?) 4. Bathroom and toilet.....old. 5. Round bed....small and uncomfortable....old mattress that had us both rolling toward the middle all night. 6. Asked for two extra pillows....45 minutes later, they brought two pillows....without pillow cases...who does that? 7. Asked for two champagne glasses and was told they could not bring us glass, but we could come to the gift shop and buy plastic ones. 8. No robes...but they did have an ironing board in the closet. 9. Not one window. I realized in the middle of the night how dark it was in the room and decided to set my cell phone alarm for 9am. Thankfully I did as it was just as dark at 9am in the room as it had been at 4am. What's right? Location. Less than 10 minutes drive to the casino. Conclusion: This is an incredibly outdated, run-down, dirty place to spend a $300 dollar night. Recommendation: Avoid it at all costs. read more

I would by far recommend you not stay here, there are about 5 other resorts up in the Poconos you could stay at. First off when you pull up, the buildings were stucco, which was falling off all of its buildings mold growing up the side of the buildings. It just wasn't attractive to see upon your arrival to a couple resort. Second you walk inside and it smells of mold, and when you touch things you can tell they haven't been washed and they have that hard feeling, the carpet looked gross and like its been there since the 80's. Now they do offer a wide variety of things to do, however while we were off doing the activities they have, the room service came to our room to "clean" it, no trash was taken, no food picked up, BUT our stuff was completely gone through and they stole quite a few of our things. Over all it was about $200 worth of items. And when we brought it to management that very moment, we got a lot of shrugs and no one was too concerned. However being as the place is straight out of a horror movie I could no longer stay there and made them refund us and we left. We were promised a call from the GM the next day, well today makes a week of no call yet, surprise surprise there. Upon leaving the resort we had to stop to get gas before our 12 hour drive home, and we were so upset we told a few locals 4 to be exact and each of them said "they were not surprised and to not stay there again", that they had only heard horrible things and that we weren't the first they had heard something like this happening. Which is the same thing the key guy who worked for the resort said. So all in all save you money find another place to stay that way you aren't another victim they have and your out your one and only yearly vacation with no vacation. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had! My boyfriend always takes me lovely elegant places so to give back and surprise him I found this place on Groupon. It looked lovely and like we would have a great time, wow was the joke on me! From pulling in the outside is not upkept at all and the lobby smells funny and looks nothing like the photos. I mean these photos are either highly edited or taken when they first opened. The first room we were in was covered in dust everywhere. It seemed like it wasn't cleaned for over a year. The shower was cracked and stained with soap scum as well as the tub and it also had a puddle of water sitting in the bottom that was there who knows how long. The ceiling was water stained and falling apart, some white substance was in our carpet possibly from the ceiling. It should have been vacuumed before we came. All furniture and basically everything that could be chipping was. When he tried to use he jacuzzi despite it appearing not cleanly he found pubes in it! I understand this is couples only but you think it would be thoroughly cleaned. Definitely not. He will never let me live this down and this was a huge waste of money. I'm not sure how one can false advertise to this extent, once I complained about the room they did switch us but it was still the same run down not taken care of scenario. This place deserves no stars, not a single One! My husband booked this weekend trip for us and we were extremely disappointed. He booked the garden of Eden Apple suite with the all inclusive plan. First off the place is extremely dated and run down. Our room had a musty, weird smell as soon as we walked in. The sauna was broken, we called they sent someone right away, he "rebooted it" and left, it turned on for twenty minutes and then broke again. Upon enter the bathroom we noticed mold around the shower, and upon further checking the room we found visible black mold alongside the ceilings of the living room area and other parts of the room. You can also tell there was some kind of leak and they painted over it. Was also peeling wallpaper and the room in general was not cleaned well at all. My husband is allergic to mold so we went to the lobby and they offered to change rooms and refund us only a $100. So we decide to give it another chance and tried the new room, my husbands asthma started acting up that night and he couldn't sleep. We had to go pick up allergy meds since he was starting to wheeze, we started checking room and noticed there was a filter missing on the ac/heating unit and it was DIRTY. Since there are no windows in the room, we were breathing in dirty, dusty air. That was it for us and we decided to leave before my husband got sick or have a full blown asthma attack. We asked to speak to the manager, who gave us a refund but kept our $100 deposit since we ate two meals there. I think we should have received ALL of our money back, the food was not worth $100. We will not come back, extremely disappointed and can't figure out how they can charge over 400 a night for this. read more

I was very skeptical at first because of all the negative reviews and I can't speak for anyone else or there experiences but I had a great time. Me and my girlfriend stayed at one of the dianas oasis suites last week. We where told that check in would be at 3:30, we got there around 4:30 and our room wasn't ready until 6:00. When I asked the receptionist about being compensated for the lost time with our room she extended our check out time from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The couple in line infront of us didnt get there room until around 8:00. The room was very clean, much cleaner then expected. The pool was clear and nicely chlorinated. The jacuzzi and shower where also very clean. I did leave with a small rash on my leg and arm which could have been from the detergent they were using. I didn't notice any bugs in the room as previously stated in other reviews but I did see a terminex guy stop by a few other rooms. There is a new list of activities on and off site every day, some of which costed a little extra. At least half of their outdoor amenities were closed during the winter including the tennis and basketball court, golf course, fishing, nature trail..ect. The game room has a very strong smell of mildew that was very hard to get used to. Most of the games were broken and dirty/sticky, all of which costed money except for the pool tables. The gym was small but clean and up to date. The food was ok but the staff wasn't very attentive. The drinks and the spa are both outrageously expensive. The overall feel for us was ok as the resort seemed mostly for older couples but the room was amazing! read more

My boyfriend and I had been planning a trip to go to Pennsylvania for the American Muscle car show. We saw a groupon for Paradise Stream in the Poconos, so we decided to end our trip there. This was a big mistake. When we told our parents that we were going to the Poconos, all we heard was of how nice it was there, and that it was supposed to be the "honeymoon destination." The weekend of our getaway finally arrived, and after the car show, we excitedly made our way to the Poconos only to be greatly disappointed. When we first pulled up to the hotel, the front entrance was closed (not a huge deal), but we were directed to around back towards where all of the service workers were to park. Pulling up to the resort, everything looked run down. "Ugh oh, what did we get ourselves into" was our initial reactions, even though neither of us spoke this at this point in time. Entering into the resort's lobby, we spoke with the front desk receptionist, who was very nice and friendly. She explained all of the options available for us to do for activities, and when we asked about what to wear for dinner at the resort's restaurant we received the answer, "You (meaning me, the female) just can't wear a bathing suit, and you (my boyfriend) needs a shirt and bottoms. We have had people show up to dinner in their bathing suits before." Seeing as I brought a skirt and nice top and him a dress shirt and nice pants, this wasn't what we expected, and was a foreshadowing of how our experience was going to be. Our room wasn't ready for us yet, so we decided to go to the outlets (again, not a big deal, we were a little early). When we received the call that our room was ready, we made our way back, and got our room key. We went up to our room that we reserved--the Champagne Towers. We walked in the room, and were hit with a musty smell that matched the run-down furniture and decor. We put our things down in the living room, and decided to take our normal walk-through of the hotel room before we got settled. Everything that was described on the resorts website was in the room, however, they weren't kept up with and I would not use them. The pool, sauna, and champagne glass hot tub all looked like they hadn't been cleaned down in months--at least. (To be fair, after seeing the whole hotel room I didn't go into the pool area to look closely at the pool because I had seen enough). We made our way upstairs to see the bed area, and then to the bathroom, which also had the champagne glass hot tub off of it. The toilet and sinks looked usable, but the shower was not. The owners clearly do not care about the maintenance of the rooms because it was evident that the shower was not cleaned, and if it were it wasn't with a strong enough cleaning agent. Making way to the hot tub provided more evidence in the lack of care of the facility. The bottom of the hot tub was an off shade of white. After seeing the shower, I told my boyfriend that I was not stepping foot in the shower, along with the pool, hot tub, or bed. I did not even sit on any of the furniture because of the stains on the rugs and walls, and the already discussed shower. My boyfriend agreed, except for the fact he tried to sit on the chair within the bedroom area, and only found himself soon sitting on the floor because the chair was apparently broken. He called down to the front desk to explain our situation and to ask for another room to give the resort another shot, where our drive was all the way back to north of Boston, Massachusetts. They easily gave us another room without argument. To our dismay, this room was worse off than our first. The smell of smoke was the first thing to notice as we walked in, along with the terrible decor and stains. The first place we looked was the shower, which turned out to be even more unclean than the first somehow. Then to the hot tub, and the floor of it was a dark yellow, where it was supposed to be white. Both of us easily came to the agreement that driving home 5 and a half hours was more pleasurable than staying the night at this resort. We made our way to the front desk where we were told we had to contact Groupon for our refund. Coincidentally, there was another couple from Ohio was in the lobby doing the same thing because they were not happy with the way their rooms (yes, rooms they tried a couple too) looked either. The four of us sat in the lobby, as we were on the phone with Groupon in the process of making sure we actually could get the money back before we left. While sitting there for the hour, we received dirty looks from the front desk receptionists and watched a few other couples enter the lobby to complain about their rooms. If you want to go to a hotel, you would be better off going to a Holiday Inn, or any other hotel, and you would end up spending a third of the price. This resort was in the worst condition out of any place I have stayed before. At least my boyfriend and I can laugh about the experience now. read more

Went for our 2nd anniversary. It was exactly what we had imagined as far as the room. A bit of wear and tear on the furniture, but other then that clean and beautiful. Many things to do on the resort, or near it. The spa packages are way overpriced, so we didn't even bother and well as the add on packages. They are very good at wording online, because it makes ypu think you need to get all inclusive packages to be able to do certain things, when really its only adding in food, everything else was included just staying including the "key around club". I had gotten the room only deal, but later added on dinner and it was well worth it. Service was excellent, food was great (and im a picky eater so i was worried), staff was great everywhere except for in the gift shop and at the check in desk, everyone there we encountered was rude or had a bad attitude, or just no rush to help you. The band was fantastic, the comedian was funny, drinks were way overpriced as expected but the good thing is they don't water them down like most places. All in all i would definitely go back, and definitely go for more then one night. Its a very romantic place, just make sure you get a good deal, 800 for 2 nights is just not okay! read more

We went here for our honeymoon and stayed in Diana's Oasis with the all-inclusive meals. First tip, get the room only! The food was absolutely terrible for dinner. Breakfast was tolerable. We had dinner included every night but could only stomach it for 2 nights. After that we got pizza at the place at the bottom of the hill. That was good! But the resort's food tasted off and made us both very sick. The facilities are decent but nothing worth writing home about. We played a brief round of mini golf (it's a mini course) and we played basketball. We also walked the trail- again, nothing fancy, but was decent for something to do. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. The jacuzzi was great, but if you get the bubble soap from the gift shop, use very little! It doesn't take much to get it bubbly. The pool was mostly clean. Could use a good wipe down to get some residual mildew off of the tiles but we have no other complaints there. The water was warm and we had a lot of fun having an in-room pool. Fireplace was also nice but you do have to buy the logs from the gift shop. Our favorite part was visiting the nearby chocolate and pretzel shops. If you go, get the chocolate covered gummy bears. Awesome! Overall, we had a great time in the room. Everything else (facilities and food) was pretty meh. I think our experience would have been a lot better if we had just stuck to take out restaurants and pizza and not attempted their food. read more

My husband and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary atvParadise stream. We stayed in Diana oasis suite. As Soon as we opened the door to our suite right away I was impressed! Very nice & everything was very clean! set a great tone for a romantic weekend! We love that our room had a heart shaped hot tub and a pool just for the two of us! Very comfortable round bed !!! Nice big shower! You cant hear the neighbors and they can't hear you! Paradise stream has a lot to offer right on the property most activities were included since we booked the all-inclusive package! All the staff went above and beyond! Everyone was very friendly! Any issues were resolved right away! I really enjoyed the gift shop and the staff working in the gift shop. The CXO /Dj Jessica was pretty awesome! She hosted a lot of the activities and kept the crowd going! Jessica made sure everybody was having fun! We enjoyed some time at the nightclub! They had an awesome band called digital get down! Plus we got to see standup comedians that were pretty well known. The property itself was beautiful but can use a little updating! We enjoyed fishing in the lake and also they have a huge outdoor fire pit!!! Overall we would definitely recommend this place! The only thing we were very disappointed with the food! Which was huge to us since we booked all inclusive package! The breakfast buffet was mediocre nothing to write home about. But both nights dinner was absolutely horrible the dinner buffet as well as sitdown dinner! I recommend just paying the room rate and going elsewhere for food! We even ordered stuff from Spooner's café delivered via room service and I was not impressed! For this place to be called a resort I expected much better food! Plus the service in the dining hall was very slow even when they didn't have many tables to wait on! The food really missed my husband's stomach up not a good for romantic trip. Sadly, we will not be returning to this resort! We were very excited for our visit and left VERY disappointed. First when we got to resort I asked about the skating rink they advertised and was told maintenance would clean it. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Second I asked about snow tubing and found out it was an hour away. We drove all the way there to have it close only a half hour after we arrived. When we finally got to our room after a long day and wanting to unwind. We turn on the lights and see a huge stain and what looked like dried up vomit on our comforter! I called the front desk and after about 20 minutes someone arrives with the wrong bedding. She doesn't clean the snow off of her shoes and just walks in our room and tracks snow all over our floor just to realize she didn't have the right bedding and leaves and comes back with a clean comforter and drags even more snow in with her! Instead of changing ALL of our sheets she just throws a new comforter on top and leaves. We still tried to make the best of the night and go to turn the jacuzzi on just realize it is also dirty and has stuff in the drain! At this point I was grossed out with it all and didn't want to use anything. I tried to speak to manager at check out and was told she was in a meeting. After calling three times after I left and also leaving a message for her to call me back I decided to try one more time and finally got her. Just to get an apology and "discounted rate" if I wanted to stay again. Why would I spend even more money coming back when I was not the least satisfied the first time! You would think customer service would be their first priority especially with so much spent but apparently it isn't! read more
