Popular trendy dinner spot in Walnut Creek for Peruvian food. We stopped by for dinner with a group of 12 and got a variety of appetizers to share. Good atmosphere and vibes. Cebiche Cino - the House Made Chips are amazing and we ordered an extra portion, they're like thinly fried yucca chips. Empanada Trio - each type was delicious and flaky Bolitas de Yuca - three fried balls of yummy goodness Costillas- pork spareribs in sticky sauce Arroz con Marisco - basically a seafood paella. Lomo Saltado - good portion but the fries are mixed and become slightly soggy. You have the option to swap out the beef for other protein if you so choose to. Pollo a la Brasa - cooked beautifully and great entree option. read more

Second visit here. So good! The food is homey, filling, and delicious. We ordered Tequenos, ribs, empanadas, and the hangover soup. Similar to my grandma's menudo, the soups broth was delicious and filled with chicken, vegetables, and hominy. The service is excellent as well. You might expect casual service in a casual atmosphere, but you won't get it. The staff, including Tony, was attentive and professional. read more

Been wanting to try this peruvian restaurant for years. Alas, one night we decided to get take out from this place. We ordered all the variation of cebiches, seafood paella and the pescado a lo macho. The cebiches were all great, but out of the three choices, my favorite was the Mixto. i do recommend you get the trio so you get a taste of each and determine which one you like most. Between the seafood paella and the pescado, i personally like the flavor of the Pescado a lo macho. It had a very good flavor and the fish was soft - it was just very nice to eat. The paella, while there were plenty of seafood and the flavor was pretty good, but i definitely had way better paella at other restaurants. read more

My wife wanted to take me here and was very glad she did. Very nice restaurant and the waitress - Catherine was very nice and pleasant. We ordered the Ceviche Mixto and Lomo Saltado, which was excellent! We will definitely be back here again - as our new favorite Peruvian Restaurant. Thank you Catherine for making our first visit enjoyable and welcoming! Muchas Gracias! read more

Food was amazing. Service was great! Only complaint was it was a little loud and I had to ask for water.

Always had this place marked as Wanted to visit and finally after the visit got very much disappointed with food selection, it's quality and service overall. Can to give it a try in the very late lunch hour on Thursday. The place was pretty much empty. Going through the menu did not find anything exiting. Went by the Yelp images and picked Empanada Trio sampler as appetizer and as Pescado a lo Macho for the main. Chicharrones Calamari was recommended by the server. Empanada Trio sampler came oil-free cooked puffs with covered with sugar powder filled with chicken (1), chilly (1), mushrooms (1), a one time try dish. Chicharrones Calamari came as regular, deep fried, dough coated, greasy ones that partially were left in the plate. Assuming Pescado a lo Macho would be top notch turned out to be over spiced, mixed seafood dish with two good pieces of tilapia on top. The dish was on the oily side way too heavy. When asked for the piece of bread, that was packed next to our table, we've got rejected calling that it's for the sandwiches only. Service wise was kind of on the cold side with no welcoming note of happiness being the only customers in the place. Overall experience - marked as Been there and don't feel like coming back. read more

Superb! First Peruvian food I recall having, first-time visit; a veritable treat! Wife & I thoroughly enjoyed anniversary lunch. Free parking in garage right behind the facility, available at least for lunch. Used expanded, heated outside (enclosed) section ... much quieter than inside main dining area (even when no crowd). Excellent, one of best meals we've had anywhere. Upscale, but not hoity-toity; just great food and service. Same menu for lunch and dinner. Even better with $20-off $100 online gift card (seasonal?). Started with libation. She had house-made Sangria; unique and delicious. He had Old Men Redemption cocktail, with Redemption (Indiana) bourbon & Pinot Noir wine; surprising flavorful blend. We shared Roasted Farm Beet salad. Wonderful blend of multiple ingredients with complementary tastes & textures. Main course. She had grilled Salmon Bandido; very nice, different from many such dishes elsewhere. He had Pescado a la Macho ... creamy stew base with swordfish and variety of other seafood, served piping hot with side of long-grain rice topped with toasted coconut. Gastronomic taste ... outstanding! We could have quit after this, but indulged a dessert. Shared Flan de Quinoa, different from many flans. While light and tasty, he did not care for it as much as she ... maybe a quinoa thing. Overall, first-rate. Service was prompt and quite helpful. Recommend highly. read more

Came here for lunch and it was awesome. The place itself is pretty large, with indoor and outdoor seating. The location is near BART, so there wasn't a ton of parking, but we did get spots right out front. There wasn't a lot of vegan options, but our waiter was able to help me understand the menu and how to make sure what I ate was vegan. My dish was incredible! So tasty! This place has always been on my bucket list of places to eat and when my bf finally took me for lunch, I was super disappointed. Food was ok. And seriously just okay. I was disappointed that I paid so much for food that I didn't completely enjoy. I didn't make a reservation, walked in for lunch. First, the lady told us we had to sit outside but it was cold so the manager approved for us to sit inside since I was with my 4yr old son. NO KID FRIENDLY MENU bad idea to begin with. It started off good. I like their CHIPS AND GUACAMOLE. And I think that's really about it. The CEVICHE TRIOS was okay if you like citrus and sweet (tuna) ceviche. Garlic fries, I didn't taste the aoli or didn't have any on the side. Peruvian food is famous for their Lomo saltado, but honestly, it wasn't close to what I've had in the past. The meat was bland. Then we tried the New York steak, now that was too flavorful for me that it took away the actually taste of a nice steak. Chimichurri sauce was nasty. It was a big portion but I'm not a fan of their seasoning. And just when I thought I was done being disappointed, the chicken empanada that the waiter suggested was not edible for me. Some may like the curry taste but not on my empanadas. The chicken was seasoned with curry. So overall this place is OK. I still give it a 2 for their appetizers. read more

Very bad price vs quality ! The prices are high and food quality and portions sizes are lowest I've seen in a while. We paid 10$ for 6 tiny yucca fries!!! 5$ for chips (which should come free with a 25$ ceviche). The taste is also nothing out of the ordinary for a péruvien restaurant. We left hungry and disappointed. To owners, I hope you see this feedback as an opportunity to improve. read more

The best empanadas I have ever had in my life! The beef and mushroom were the best, but I didn't get the corn. Kudos to the chef! The tables are a bit close together and the vibe is more industrial inside. Next time I'd sit outside and enjoy more of what's on the menu. read more

I love Peruvian. Amazingly there are a lot of great places in the area now. Not going to lie, the food was good here. The thing with the eggs and "fries" I forget the name, delicious. Good stuff. Service was a little slow but the thing that keeps me from 5 stars was it was pretty expensive. Got to watch out for that. But the food was good. read more

I am so glad that Parada is open and has amazing outdoor seating. Even on a hot day the outdoor area is shaded. It was a very enjoyable atmosphere and makes me want to go back to hang out and have drinks. This is a great place to share appetizers and food. We enjoyed many items together and it was an abundance of food to share. Also note checking in you get a free beer! We had the beet salad and the quinoa salad. Then we also shared the tequenos, yucca balls, and the arroz con pollo. This was such a ton of food for all of us. I have to say the yucca balls and the arroz con pollo are a must try. Next time I need to try the ceviche and empanadas. I look forward to coming back. Great servers, great food, great time! read more

Came here during lunch with a co worker. It wasn't very busy. But service was great and that salmon is delicious. A bit more on the pricier side however, if you're down for a splurge, this is a great place to go to. There's outdoor seating which on a nice day, I'm sure is enjoyable. I like how close this place is to my office which not only gets me out for a short walk but for a delicious meal. I would love to come back and check out dinner. Maybe a dinner date. read more

I'll preface by saying that I'm Peruvian. It's not bad, it's just not good. Service is mediocre, bordering on bad. I asked server to recommend most authentic dishes, he seemed indignant. It's a legit question. He then proceeded to offer tortilla chips with the ceviche. Ya, Tortilla chips are Mexican, so I knew I was in for a mediocre meal. Pisco Sour was ok. Too many bitters, could have used more simple syrup. I don't even like sweet drinks. Ceviche was ok. Where's the corn? Barely any sweet potato. Needed more lime and salt....and flavor. The fish was fresh though. Arroz chaufa was surprisingly good and saved the experience! read more

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK IN FOR FREE BEER. Us two Asian girls walk in and they were just rude. The hostess was very sweet but the other workers were not so much. I flagged them down to get water. The giant 8 people table who came after us got ALL their food before us... by which my friend was already drunk.... Due to our empty stomachs. I had to ask the servers 3 times for some hot sauce and pepper that came in this tiny ramekins... and they charge you $.75 for it. I mean, I don't mind paying it but if your entrees and appetizers are average $18-20, is this really necessary? Here is some of the food we got: Scallops - I think they rushed this dish after we complained that our food hasn't come out for an hours. It was COLD, undercooked and COMPLETELY bland. Ceviche mixto - decent - 1 giant tiger prawn with a few green mussels and tiny squid Lomo saltado - decent - nothing special - this dish would benefit from better presentation instead of fries piled on top of stir fried beef crammed into a plate/bowl with rice like some $6 take out Asian lunch More so, the server tried making up for it but giving us some drinks on the house. It was a nice gesture. Overall Service 3 - they tried their best to make up for it Vibe/aura - 4 Food - 2 Price - 3 Averages to 3 stars read more

Food is great! But the service from Andres takes it to the next level. My wife and I had a great experience

Came here on a Monday night and the food was delicious! We ordered: -Hangover soup - really good and perfect on a chilly night -Empanadas - we ordered the trio and my favorite was the corn empanada! Really liked the beef and chicken as well. -Aji de galina - this is my favorite dish, but this wasn't my favorite version of it -Pork spareribs - these were my favorite thing and absolutely fall off the bone great! The only thing I'm taking points off for is that it was pretty cold in the restaurant, which took away from the ambiance or desire to hang out for long. tl;dr - Overpriced and overated I must have driven by Parada countless times with a mental note to try the Peruvian restaurant one day. Well, this past weekend, I finally decided to give it a try. In hindsight, I see why curiosity killed the gato... and honestly, I should've kept driving. You see, Parada was no bueno. While the interior is modern and trendy and gives it that hipster vibe with an open kitchen, a bar, and beautifully decorated murals of the motherland, the food wasn't as nice as the décor. For me, taste is more important than the aesthetics. Moreover, as I looked over the menu, I could tell that this place was priced for the gringos of Walnut Creek. Pretty much any entrée is $20+. Also, there is no Happy Hour. ¡Qué lástima! The wife and I ended up ordering a Beef Lomo Saltado ($24.50), the Cebiche Mixto ($22.50), and a Peruvian Beer ($7). The server up-sold us by asking if we wanted chips with the cebiche, so we blindly said yes. Little did we know that the chips were $4.50 for a small bowl. ¡Ay, caramba! The Lomo Saltado tasted more like stew than a stir fry and the entire dish felt like it was not in unison. Also, the flavors were overpowered by a tad too much cumin. Maybe I am biased, but I prefer the lomo saltado that has more of a soy sauce flavor since the dish was invented by Asian immigrants to Peru. And, they really do get the "salt" part right in the lomo SALTado because it was wayyyyyy too salty. We had to order extra rice just to finish it. Again, the server did not tell us about the upcharge for extra rice ($4). ¡No mames! Let me pause here and say when you charge $4 for a bowl of plain rice, this is where you piss me off. As an Asian man I know how easy it is to make rice and it never should cost $4. ¡NUNCA!. Especially when Parada charges a side of bread $3.50. While the flavors of the cebiche mixto were good, I don't think the two pieces of clam, the two pieces of mussels, and the single shrimp make it a true cebiche mixto. If you do come here, just get the regular cebiche since they do give you a lot of fish. At the end of the day, I've had better Peruvian and so I can honestly say, "Meh, I've experienced better". I still can't get over the cost of an extra bowl of rice. read more

Every time I drive by this place it is always popping! Even on weekdays, there are always people dining here. It's next to Bart and there is also parking very close that's free for 2 hours. I'm no Peruvian food expert but I must say the food was absolutely delicious! For a group of 3 we ordered: Cebiche Pescado, Pollo Soltado, Chicken Empanadas Trio, and Yucca Fries. The Soltado was definitely all of our favorite - so I highly recommend that! The empanadas were super yummy and filling, would definitely order again. None of us were fans of the Yucca fries and the Cebiche was not my cup of tea, but perhaps this is because I don't know Peruvian food very well. There is no doubt the food is delicious here, but honestly it is VERY overpriced! I don't think the food is impressive enough for us to justify spending this type of money. For example just the Yucca fries were $10 and you only got 6 fries. If I had a craving for empanadas I would pick those up, but nothing else would make me want to come and spend that much. But if you've got the money to spend, definitely go enjoy a delicious meal. Can't speak as to how the staff/restaurant was as we ordered online and picked up. read more

So delicious! Stopped for a quick lunch and loved the pisco sour and lomo. Diana was the server and she was so sweet and helpful!

With Peruvian restaurants popping up all over WC, this is one of my original Go-to Peruvian spots since they first opened their doors in 2015. They've got the gold standards here with the traditional Peruvian chicken and the ever popular Lomo Saltado (salted beef which is not actually salty) plate always being a crowd pleaser but while their paella is on point, I come here for the Pisco sour drinks (reminds me of tequila, topped with foamy egg whites), and small plates: cebiches mixto tastings, and their selection of skewers of which I highly recommend the beef tongue. Who knew it would be so tasty and satisfying? Give it a try, it's pricey but so worth it. The only thing I'd pass on is their empanadas which are a little too doughy and not much filling. The staff here is always friendly, they've got great outdoor seating options, and there's a public parking garage hidden right next door. Ever popular, I recommend making reservations in advance as I've rarely ever been able to just drop in without being told there's at least a 1 hr wait. read more

Give me allll the yuca fries! I love love Peruvian food so I was super happy to see this restaurant in the Walnut Creek Area. Apparently reservations are preferred but I was able to get seats at a community high top table which was totally fine by me. I don't consider this place a romantic restaurant so sitting with other diners doesn't bother me. Service was good, food was good but because there is a lot of "fried" food options things got a little greasy. The Yuca Fries only had 6 pieces, the calamari could have been patted down more, and same with the churro dessert. We ordered the half chicken which was amaze- super juicy- always add this to your order. Overall, food is good but I would hands down prefer Limon in SF. read more

We went to eat at Parada because it was close to the location where I was spending the night in Concord. It was so close and so convenient and they even had two our parking garage free Then we went inside we came there kind of early. We noticed that it started filling up a little by little as we were eating our meal and pretty soon. There were just a lot of people really enjoying all the food. They had a beautiful salad that I ordered with a very unusual and delicious salad dressing and two types of corn. I also ordered empanadas. There were four different types of filling, chicken, mushroom, beef, and pork. All of them were delicious. We also ordered a ceviche dish very delicious very fresh. We also ordered the paella very beautiful, very delicious. I think everything is really great there. The staff was very friendly. All the people that waited on us were very kind and efficient. They have some very good drinks as well, but we didn't order any alcohol this time. I say if you want something different, give it a go. read more

Terrible experience. My friend's dinner order was not served! They forgot to make it! I got the wrong dish but ate it anyway. We waited 10 minutes for our friend's food and by that time ours was cold. They didn't even offer to comp a dessert for her. Worst service and mediocre overcooked seafood drowned in sauce.
