Pantry (Rosedale), located along Yonge and Roxborough, is Toronto's freshest fast food. Pantry actually has several locations around Toronto but I've probably been to this location the most. I've ordered from this location many many times (mainly takeout) and I'd figure it's best to finally write a review. Owned by the Food Dudes (who also own Rasa, Sara, and Chop Hop), the eatery offers a variety of proteins and sides daily. You can either opt to get a combo or just the item itself. The space for this location is minimalist where you order at the counter and choose your combo. The protein and sides are all displayed where you can choose to your heart's content. You are able to dine in or take out and they are also on several food apps (Ubereats, Ritual). I've tried most proteins but my favourites are the salmon and the chicken shawarma. For the sides, my main go to's are the kale caesar salad and always always the truffle mac and cheese. There are times I have ordered later in the day where they have run out of the mac and cheese. Overall though, most of the other proteins and sides I've tried are great as well. Overall, a great grab and go concept in Toronto, one of my favourites for fresh and tasty fast food. I have been to Pantry a handful of times & always had good experience. However, this time i ordered form Uber Eats & i was not happy. I ordered the combo which comes with 1 protein + 2 sides. My order was the Ponzu Salmon with Tokyo Slaw & Beet Salad. I received my order fairly quickly, but it was incorrect. They sent me the Ponzu Salmon (which was good), but with Kale Cesar Salad & Egg Fried Rice which i did NOT order. I was quiet disappointed as i was looking forward to my lunch. The kale salad also did not taste fresh + had a sticker mixed inside of it. Pantry (Rosedale) is my go-to place for weekly meal prep or for eating healthy. I recently ordered some meals from Pantry (Rosedale) through UberEats with BOGO deal. So I don't have much to say about their service and ambiance. I'm willing to dine-in next time! Menu1: The Peri Peri chicken was cooked to perfection and was full of flavor. The Kale Caesar and Legume salad were the perfect sides to go with it. Menu2: The Jerk chicken was equally delicious and paired well with the Caprese quinoa and Seasonal vegetables. Menu3: The Ponzu salmon was my favorite dish, it was so flavorful and light. The Roasted sweet potato and Village Greek salad were the perfect sides to round out the meal. Disclaimer that I came for a tea and a snack, and not the usual meal options that the majority of patrons come for. I had a tea and a cookie there, which was both passable. The tea was a bit strange as the teabag was thrown in with hot water then immediately doused with milk. It was tepid and didn't taste like tea which is a crime in my books. Really should have served either served the tea in a teapot (which they had) or the milk on the side. We watched many people assemble different meals for lunch or dinner, combining protein and side options as they liked. I will keep this place in mind for the future for meals on the go! read more

This is a popular neighborhood healthy food spot. I had only tried the cappuccino here beforehand but the consistent flow of what looks like repeat clients intrigued me so I decided to give them a go finally. I chose the 1 protein plus 2 sides combo. There is a decent selection of main proteins some hot and a few cold, the selection of sides is quite extensive. A lot of the sides have so many ingredients that it is probably worthwhile just to buy them here IMO. I tried the salmon with mushroom and sweet potato side. Decent IMO not overly seasoned. What I like about this spot is that one can come here with the picky eaters who are on to whatever is trending diet and still satisfy their need for eternal youth! 3.5 stars. read more

Stopped by here because my BF wanted to eat something healthy for lunch. I didn't feel like mulling over the options on the menu, so I just picked out a pre-packed salad from their fridge. It didn't have a price on it, and I was a little shocked when it rung up at over $20. Pretty steep for a refrigerated salad! Honestly - the salad *was* pretty good. The sauce was a great flavour without being too heavy, and the quinoa added a nice texture. I thought the black spheres were olives, so I was rather surprised when I bit down on a grape instead (not awful but olives would have been better imo). The portion size was good, definitely enough to make you full. The food was great, but the price leaves a little to be desired. I'd totally be okay with paying over $20 for a salad I'm sitting down at a restaurant to enjoy, but to pay that much for a prepackaged one that's been sitting in a refrigerator doesn't sit as well with me. Pantry is a hidden gem of a spot in a really cute summer hill neighbourhood. I honestly have no idea why the rating is so low and in fact I'm apprehensive to write this review because now everyone will know my secret brunch spot!! First off the neighbourhood Pantry is located in is just so adorable. Quaint shops, scenic streets, and a nice calm aura. Then you see the aesthetic shop that is Pantry and think wow, this looks good. There is outdoor patio seating but it was a bit chilly so I opted for indoors when I went. You'll also easily find street parking nearby (or go by subway and get off at Rosedale). FYI parking is free on the street before 1 pm on Sunday - perfect for brunch!! Pantry has an amazing aesthetic to it - wood panels, a rustic kitchen, and nice plants. I opted for a vegetarian breakfast sandwich (egg and feta) and got to customize my toppings. The best part is that the pricing is unbelievably good...$5 for a breakfast sandwich, yeah you read that right! The service is prompt and friendly. They also have build your own lunch available at a certain time of day. The ingredients were fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed every bite of my sandwich. In the heart of Rosedale is this lovely food shop that was very busy for a Tuesday afternoon! Service is great inside and they have a lot of options to choose from. I had their combo that came with 2 proteins and 2 sides because I wanted to try different things. Miami short ribs, chicken burger, cauliflower tahini, and kale Cesar were my go to. Got jerk chicken with mac and cheese and curried couscous salad. The jerk chicken had really good skin and wasn't overly greasy which is great. Mac and cheese wasn't as fresh (we came in close to 6pm) but it was still really good, especially with the bread crumbs. Curried couscous salad was good and paired nicely with the mac and cheese. My order along with my bf's came down to about $13 which was really reasonable, considering how one person meals these days start around $12 or so. Portions were good too - you end up feeling just the right amount of full. I've wanted to try this place for awhile - I love the concept of a meal consisting of protein and two sides for a reasonable price. Finally was sort of in the neighbourhood and able to give it a try at lunch.. For the price that you pay, the portion is (in my opinion) pretty generous. I definitely felt satisfied after my meal, and it was nice to have a friend join so we could taste each others food. Frankly, with one exception, everything was terrific and really just motivates me to go back again to try more. The one food miss was the chicken burger, which I found strange tasting and not really good in general. The truffle mac n cheese was awesome, so much so that I went and bought 3 sides of it to take home for another day. Great little restaurant that's very popular, especially at lunch. They have a nice little patio, or there's a pretty big park two blocks south where you can enjoy the food as take-out like I did. Highly recommended. read more

I LOVE this place. They have the best food. My current site is walking distance and every so often, I'll treat myself to a lunch here (when my co-worker decides to get his lunch from Pantry). I've only eaten my food at the establishment once, usually opting for takeout instead. Seating is limited and this place is perpetually busy. My favorite combo is the Miami Ribs, mac and cheese and kale caesar, sometimes switching up the kale caesar with Brussels sprouts. I'm not a fan of eating fat so I always ask for the leanest pieces of Miami Ribs they have available. My only gripe is that they switched from their plastic takeout containers to cardboard boxes. I get that it's better for the environment, but it is almost impossible to use a fork and knife with their new cardboard takeout containers. (I tend not to dig into my Miami Ribs with my hands when I'm at work...) read more

Go to spot for fresh salads and food in general. I find food here is really fresh. Usually get the kale and beet salad which is a hit. Not included in the photos here. Mac and cheese is very rich and will fill you up. I can almost never finish it. So beware and order accordingly. Chicken burger is personal favourite on the protein front. Wish Toronto had more of these style of spots. My go to when I'm being indecisive about what I want to eat. read more

I love this place. Used to stop here on the way home from work all the time to pick up dinner. For me the stars are the sides. All healthy vegetables and delicious. I'm a big fan of the kale salad and tahini cauliflower. The proteins are also great. Happy to see they are back open post COVID shutdown and seem to be doing well. Support them! Portions are pretty generous for the quality of food. I like these guys so much that I've ordered from them 5 times already. Ordering via Ubereats is about $1 more than pick up, which is fine and I thought it was worth it (I have eatpass so I get free delivery and 5% off on fees). Food is decent (hot bar style, nothing cooked fresh). The biggest issue is staff are indifferent about customer service. My girlfriend waited 15 minutes for breakfast and when we went to check on it it was clear they totally forgot about it. She decided to just switch to their lunch combo so she wouldn't have to keep waiting. There was no apology offered for this bad experience. This place needs to level up their game. read more

I came with my baby to get something for my breakfast to go, and for one moment I thought babies were not allowed in the place because both staff members were rude when my baby was bubbling around. I always leave satisfied. I think there's something for everyone here and the dishes are always fresh. Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'm so happy to know about this place! For people familiar with Vancouver, this place totally reminds me of Tractor. But it might even be better than Tractor and that's saying a lot. The food is fresh and bursting with flavor, and the prices are totally reasonable for the quality you get. I love the salmon and grilled chicken for proteins, and my fave sides are the kale Cesar and Greek salad. My husband likes the chicken burger and meatballs. I can't wait to try more stuff. My favourite protein options are: Peri peri chicken, salmon, and the meat balls. I've also had the chicken burger, which was not very good. It's also hit or miss with the sides. The kale jalapeno caesar salad with roasted chickpeas is incredible. The mac and cheese is pretty decent as well. However, I had the grilled broccoli and it tasted like there were cigarette butts cooked in it- it was so charred. The cauliflower, mushrooms, roasted sweet potato also all fell short of my expectations. I wish they had an option for roasted potatoes with rosemary. read more
