We decided on a couple of flights to try a bit of everything. We ordered the bao bun flight and we loved it. Surprisingly the tofu one was good. I'm not vegetarian and honestly avoid tofu. The gentleman said try it. I was so happy I did. It was one of my favorites. We got the dumpling flight and we lovedd it as well. Only downside is there were so many of them I couldn't tell one for another. We also had their burger bao and my husband loved it as well. It definately is a huge twist on traditional food. Was looking for a quick bite the other day. Ordered the pork banh mi and elotes dumpling to-go. The banh mi was tasty, but I wish they'd put less broth since the bread can get soggy quickly (but the flavor was great!). The elotes dumpling was good too, though I'm not convinced on the price ($3 for a single dumpling). Service was okay. I finally tried Pantry on Magnolia to pique my dumpling interests. I ordered the dumpling flight so I could discover which was my favorite flavor. As for the dumplings, my sister and I's favorites were the elotes and baked potato, both were flavorful. Full transparency, I didn't realize the dumplings would be on the smaller side, so do not order this expecting it to fill you up. Next time, I would order something to go along with it. However, it would be a good appetizer. I can't say I'd be in a rush to return due to the high cost of the dumplings compared to what you actually receive, but I am curious to try more offerings from their menu. read more

Honestly the place was cute, and great vibes, people and staff were wonderful. It's great that it stays open til Midnight. I'm sure there's other things that are great there. the dumplings had great texture however I was really fond of the flavors. The pho was like it had been microwaved and noodles were just soaked in water and it wasn't warm and served it in a to go bowl. The cucumber salad was a hit though. We've been wanting to try this place out. We ordered the four dumplings and chose the Japanese Beef Stew, which was pretty good. It had a little kick, so the chilly sauce made it really spicy. It kind of tasted like curry, which isn't my favorite flavor, but my boyfriend liked it. The next thing we ordered was the Bulgogi Bao Burger, which we were told was their award winning burger. It was yummy. The combination of the bulgogi and kimchi were good. Just a bit pricy given their size, but it was something to try. The last thing we ordered was the Pantry Stir Fry Noodles, which was my favorite of the 3. It was bit too salty for my liking, but the flavor of the beef and noodles with the veggies was yummy. Ok what can one say that hasn't been said a ton already in the last year. This place has affordable food with great flavor. Jose definitely makes you feel welcome and explains everything to you. Now the food is just hands down fantastic. My wife had a stir fry with a fried egg and the overall flavor was just fantastic. The noodles are hands down some of the best noodles I've ever had. We then went on a dumpling fest with the garlic mushroom, Indian Butter Chicken and pork shiitake. All of which were well crafted and had a ton of flavor. I must start by saying the atmosphere is inviting. Such a cute concept, however everything else was just kind of okay. I came with my boyfriend and we tried the dumpling flight. I would think that for the price, we would get at least two of each to try. We shared a bite each of all of the flavors and those were phenomenal. As were the bao buns. They lost us on the okonamiaki which was made in a waffle iron...that didn't help but enhance the fact that it was more breaded than meaty. It felt like there was no element of freshness to it by comparison of those I've had previously. It also felt overcooked, if that's possible. The fried rice is very obviously frozen, typical American Chinese restaurant style. The rice itself lacked flavor and the Chinese sausage seemed...tired. With those items and a side of spicy cucumber, our order totaled $97, yet wasn't worth $35. Very disappointing. read more

This place is phenomenal. The food is made from scratch, with lots of love and you can taste it in every bite. I love supporting a small, family owned business and Pantry is an incredible example of that. You are greeted with such kindness and friendliness the second you enter the door and walked through the menu with such detail and passion. I felt like I was given the perfect amount of direction to make choices across the menu for my first visit here. You HAVE to get a dumpling flight so you can sample their tried and true classics along with whichever seasonal flavors they are experimenting with when you visit. The black garlic and mushroom is a heavy hitter and I was told it surprises most people by being their favorite. Don't knock any of the flavors until you try them! The banh mi and okonomiyaki inspired dishes are heavenly. There is so much flavor packed in and the myriad of textures and components is just insane. I can't even fathom trying to recreate any of these dishes at home and I wouldn't want to because they do everything perfectly. An honorable mention is their chili crisp/oil. It was sooo flavorful and provided a wonderful heat to complement every single bite. Their dumpling sauce is fantastic too. Everything was fantastic, idk what else to tell you. The leftovers were even better the next day because we went to sleep dreaming about how good dinner was. My god, they have a dumpling flight! The Pantry has changed quite a bit since I stopped in earlier this year, especially their menu. Frankly, I didn't really wait to check out what some of the other new menu items were as, if a place says they have a dumpling flight, your decision is kind of made for you. Is there a more tantalizing word combination than dumpling flight (free beer)? I don't know, but it has to be up there. The dumplings featured in the flight are: loaded baked potato, Japanese beef stew, garlic ground beef, pork shitake, black garlic mushroom, buffalo chicken, and garlic parmesan. However, I really couldn't tell you which ones were the best as I just sort of unhinged my jaw as if I hadn't eaten in 3 weeks. They were all equally delicious. Needless to say, I really like some of the new things at the Pantry and you should try the dumpling flight. I will be back to try more of their new menu items (or just more dumplings). 4.5 stars read more

Great seeing a restaurant serve dumplings and baos in Fort Worth! This is definitely fusion cuisine! First off, I would give 5 stars simply for the service alone. The staff is incredibly friendly and so inviting. The man at the counter who I'm assuming was one of the owners was so passionate and gave us recommendations! The food however was 3.5/5! I got the dumpling flight, pork belly baos, and stir fry noodles. The pork belly baos were honestly great and so flavorful. Highly recommend ordering these! The dumpling flight was good for a first experience but I'm not sure I'd get the flight again as the flavors didn't really blow my mind. They were definitely interesting and fun to try though. The flavor I would get again however was the black garlic mushroom. I was not a big fan of the noodles and was disappointed by how salty and underwhelming they were. Overall, the items were pricey but still worth a try. FYI: bring your own water!!! Wish they had complimentary water but luckily we had our water bottle. Not a huge deal. read more

The employees were kind but the food was so bland. I was torn between trying the dumplings or get the Pho. It's hard for me to turn down Pho but I regret that choice. I had the pho and it was hands down the worst pho I've ever had. First, they set it in front of me and said, "be careful, it's hot". I sipped the broth and it was literally luke warm. I thought briefly about asking them to reheat it. However, it felt inconvenient since we chose to sit on the Grandma side so we could order a drink. But the bigger issue was that broth had zero flavor - it tasted like water. I knew immediately I wasn't going to eat much of it anyway, so what was the point of getting it reheated. I was impressed with the size & amount of meat that was in there but it was tough and what looked like a nice thick piece was actually just a giant bone. My husband got the fried rice and he said it was fine but also lacked any flavor. It's rare when he doesn't finish a plate. The funniest part was they gave us 3 tiny cups of sauces / chili oil, siracha, and hoisin sauce. We both laughed at how small the portion was and that neither of our food had any flavor - so we had to share and basically still had bland food. I suggested we should get some more sauce and my husband said they had already charged us 50 cents for them. WHAT?!? That is insane. If I knew a place charged for the sauce - I would have expected that size for free and an up charge for more. The amount in those cups was just so laughable. The dumplings here are really good. I like that they have different shapes to identify the different flavors if you get the dumpling flight. I've been here twice but the first time was a while ago so I did noticed their prices have gone up but it's still not too expensive. It was too hot to eat outside on the street patio so we ate in the back which was kinda fun since you're pretty much in the kitchen with them. Maybe I just don't ask or they didn't offer but I do wish they had a sauce option other than chili oil to go with the dumplings. The pork shiitake and black garlic mushroom ones were my favorite and the Al pastor and Japanese beef stew were surprisingly my least favorite bc they were kinda bland. I also had the stir fry noodles and cucumber salad which were both great. The real downside is that they are almost never open so you have to catch them on the weekends. It seems like they are literally doing what they love, positive vibes all around. We got here between 7pm & 8pm on a Saturday night, there were five of us. It's a small spot, but they have utilized the space well. Another group was finishing up so we lucked out. I had the dumpling flight, great choice. Mind you this is a small menu, it works in this instance. Find something you do & do it well. The jerk chicken was my favorite with the potato & black garlic one coming in a tie for second. I tried my brother's noodles, they were pretty good too. They have fun games to the side of each table that you can play, cute decor, & clean and organized! I have been so excited to try this place. The dumplings were outstanding, but everything else was extremely disappointing. The salad was basically a big bowl of cabbage. I would suggest adding a little more pizazz to this dish. I couldn't wait to try the whiskey smoked peach cobbler. Boy was sorely mistaken It was the worst peach cobbler I've ever had in my life. I wish I would have read the reviews before getting this. At first the taste reminded me of the smell of chewing tobacco, but upon reading the other review I realized it was the smoked flavor I was grossed out by. The peaches were definitely canned and still cold upon being served. I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. Next time we will stick strictly to the dumplings.
