I'm late with this review, but I had to brag about the experience at Pantora bridal in Brooklyn. My sisters and I traveled to Ny to find the perfect wedding dress after going to boutiques such as even Kleinfeld this was hands-down the best experience we had. We were greeted with warm, friendly smiles, and the store is absolutely stunning. The bling captured my eye at first sight, which is exactly what we were looking for. Corey and Shira are masters of their craft. My sister purchased the first dress she put on. It was exactly what she was looking for! They were very attentive we basically had the entire store to ourselves, the drink menu was an extra special added touch. I would highly recommend this bridal store, support this black owned business. Very professional, courteous, and clean, I couldn't say more. It definitely exceeded my expectations. They also recommended a great restaurant within the area that we also absolutely loved. It was around this time last year when I was dealing with Pantora Bridal. With everything going on with my wedding, I didn't have a chance to write a review, but since I still remember this horror story like it was yesterday, and how poorly they treated me I need to share my experience for any current or future brides considering them. I had ten bridesmaids who each spent over $300 on dresses, and my experience with this company was nothing short of a disaster. If they had a BBB account, I would have filed a complaint there as well because their business practices are completely unethical. For context, I traveled from North Carolina to New York to attend one of their showcase events because I wanted to see the dresses in person before making a final decision. After carefully selecting three colors: pearl, rose gold, and hot chocolate. I had my bridesmaids place their orders in November 2024, confident that we were getting exactly what I saw in person. However, when the dresses arrived, the hot chocolate dresses were a completely different shade than what we originally saw in the store. After all the time, money, and planning that went into this, the last thing I expected was such a major discrepancy. I reached out to Pantora Bridal to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. Instead, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful customer service. They offered no solutions and no discounts, even after having to be open to changing my entire wedding colors for their dresses. However, they did allow us to return the dresses, but by refusing to assist in finding an alternative solution, they left me with only a month to find new dresses for my bridesmaids. Since they refused to help over the phone, I had no choice but to fly back to New York to speak to someone in person. Even then, it was another frustrating experience where I had to suggest possible solutions myself while they remained uncooperative. The only option they offered was for me to change my wedding colors and choose from whatever display dresses they had in inventory, without offering any discount for these used dresses. After returning home, I waited for a promised follow-up call from the manager, Kadine, which never came. So my fiancé and I followed up again. When we finally got her on the phone, she claimed there was a "dye lot issue" and insisted that this was clearly stated in a clause on their website. However, when we checked, there was no such clause. We immediately took screenshots of their website while on the call and emailed them proof that nothing about a "dye lot issue" was listed anywhere. Kadine put us on hold for 15 minutes, and when she returned, she blatantly lied, and magically provided a screenshot of the website now showing the clause. They had obviously added the clause while we were on hold. The font, wording, and formatting were completely different from their other policies, making it clear that they had just inserted it to cover themselves. To make matters worse, Kadine refused to let us speak to anyone above her, and when we attempted to reach out to the owner of the company via Instagram, we never received a response. In the end, we had to scramble to find a new vendor at the last minute to replace ten bridesmaid dresses, a stressful and expensive process. I never got to have the exact color scheme I originally envisioned, all because of their dishonesty, unprofessionalism, and lack of accountability. Brides, if you are considering Pantora Bridal, think twice. They do not care about customer satisfaction, they do not take responsibility for their mistakes, and their customer service is terrible. I would never recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the stress and disappointment! I ended up going with Tatiana's Bridal Boutique, and they were beyond amazing! They heard my horror story and immediately jumped into savior mode, not only providing expedited shipping, but also garment bags and custom jewelry for my bridesmaids. Let me preface by saying this happened before & during the pandemic - so I was trying to be understanding of the situation as I worked as a medical professional throughout the entire pandemic. Service: Communication was lacking from day one and that should have been my first red flag unless it was discussing payments. I continued conversation with them via email and phone; they always seemed too busy to speak, if you plan on being on time to this establishment for a fitting... good luck! Whether I was on time or early I was always seen 15 - 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment (super annoying seeing as how I was traveling from out of state). But God forbid you are running slightly late or are lost, they try to tell you that you have to reschedule (which I never did because I reminded them of how I waited for 1.5 hours for my first fitting). They also need to work on their customer service. I entered the building and all they said was hi, no one even checked me in - I believe this also has to do with the waiting. Dress: I hated my wedding dress! I truly believe the entire experience ruined the whole bridal feel for me. I kept explaining to them that I wasn't satisfied and I was so over the whole experience they had no idea how to even help. I will however say that their tailor Whitney * was the best part of my experience and the only reason why I put 2 stars! He did his best to contour the dress to my body & when someone else completely ruined my dress - he apologized and promised it would be completed by my wedding day (10 days away). On my wedding day, I had so many dress malfunctions ( the dress kept shifting in the back, it was getting caught in my heels/shoes, and the buttons that were supposed to keep up the train broke off so they had to pin my dress with safety pins). Pricing: I think for the "Custom" experience that they provide the pricing was overpriced. My second dress was custom & that experience included more participation and I was able to have input and be a part of each step of the process. I think that they should enhance their "custom gown" experience by allowing the bride to try on her dress in each stage of construction - this way if things go wrong or something isn't to the bride's liking they can avoid stressing out the bride even further. All in all - I would not recommend this establishment. Talking with other brides in the waiting area we all seemed to have similar experiences & I am not sure if they over-extended themselves during their move and expansion but this isn't the Pantora Bridal that I was hoping for & I honestly think I would have been happier at David's Bridal or some other boutique. Shop around and just know that it is okay if your dream store doesn't have the dress for you... you will be a beautiful bride either way & the man of your dreams will make you feel beautiful either way. I found Pantora Bridal on Instagram and instantly fell in love with their designs and how they enhanced women of color on their wedding day. All of their dresses are stunning and I knew that when my time came it would include Pantora Bridal. It was great to know that their flagship store was near me. As I began my wedding planning, I fell in love for the second time with their bridesmaid designs. It was divine timing that they were getting ready for the bridesmaid event which aligned perfectly with planning my wedding. I was able to schedule a fitting and look at the dresses in person. The only challenge I experienced was the limited guests at the fitting as I have a large wedding party. We were only allowed to attend in groups of 4. It worked out but I would have liked to invite more. However, I do understand the safety precautions. My bridal consultant Debra K. was a huge help. She was patient, knowledgeable and extremely kind. Answering all of our questions, even responding to emails on her day off. All of my ladies ordered their dresses during the event and we are super excited to see them. Vendor Reviews So I struggled between giving this review 2-3 stars because although my outcome was the worst possible outcome, I did love my bridesmaids gowns...but even those had small issues. Story time: 11/2021 I make a VIP appt to shop for gowns. The VIP appt allows you to choose a bottle of champagne to sip during your appt. My 2 maid of honors and I show up (from Baltimore to NYC...3 hr drive) and are greeted warmly. Once inside we are told that alcohol is no longer served Ok cool, I guess. The money spent for the VIP appt goes toward the dress anyway. I try on about 5-6 gowns, find one that I love but only the cut of the bodice. I ask about modifications to the skirt of the dress and the beading. "No problem." So we do all the things and an invoice is sent to me. None of the changes are on the invoice so I call. I am then told that the young lady that helped me at my appt no longer works there and the changes to the beading were not possible. The Pantora Maids event was coming up in Jan so a new appt was set for my Maids & myself at that time so that I could start my process again. At this point I have 8 mos till my wedding and I am told that I have enough time. I find another dress, with changes that can be done. I do the whole "say yes to the dress" moment, make my dep & I'm told I will have my first fitting in 16-18 wks which puts me in mid July. July approaches. No communication from Pantora. I send an email & Kristen (associate) tells me to expect a CALL in the coming weeks. I wasn't really satisfied with that response because it wasn't specific enough and my date was approaching. That email exchange was 7/11. On 8/5 I send another email and at that time I am told that the dress was in and that an EMAIL (not phone call as promised) was sent. She then forwards the email and it's dated 7/22. I was LIVID. On 8/8 I am told that they can get me in for my FIRST fitting in 8/18...my wedding was 9/23. I expressed at that time how uncomfortable I was with this timeline and that I didn't think it was enough time. I would have thought that due to the fact they never called me or heard back from me after the email KNOWING I had just inquired about my dresses, that they would have expedited my fitting. But that wasn't the case. So I arrive on the 18th and see the dress hanging and it doesn't have the changes made to the skirt as discussed. Now I've driven 3 hrs to try on a gown that is completely wrong other than the bodice. And even that needed correcting. The construction of the gown was not great. I had straps added but they were just pieces of lace. No backing to support the straps properly. Just thin lace hanging and you could see where it was stitched on to the stress because the fabric had no support and kept flipping inside out. So another young lady came in to see all that needed to be done and assured me the skirt would be fixed. 2 visits later every other week and the dress still needed minor alterations. At this point I'm already trying to figure out other options in my head. On my final visit, 10 days before my wedding I told them I wanted to wait for my dress to be pressed and packed to take it home. I honestly didn't even want the dress anymore but for all I spent what else was I gonna do? Well...they couldn't get the dress ready for me to take that day and wanted me to come back 3 days later. Another 3 hr trip from Baltimore. I told them that was not going to happen. They offered to ship the dress complimentary. The dress was shipped 2 days later, not the next day like they said they would because they wanted another $595 from me for alterations!!! Mind you, 90% of the alterations were due to the dress not being made according to the specifications in the first place. But again, I've spent too much money to not have my dress this close to my wedding. So UPS tracking says I will have the dress on Thursday. Dress never comes. Then the tracking has no more scans so I have no updates other than "on the way". Pantora is still saying the dress would be here. No dress Fri or Mon. I started looking locally for dresses that day. New dress was purchased that evening, altered and picked up the next afternoon and taken for cleaning. Picked up the dress on the way to my wedding venue for my wedding the next day. Pantora refunded me. There's no compensation for the multiple trips, tolls, poor communication or lack thereof and poor customer service as it relates to making me feel like they even cared that the fitting process started so late. The associate (Kristen) even argued back and forth with me at the I tail fitting when I told her the dress wasn't as we discussed. LUCKILY my maid of honor had her on video describing the alterations in detail. Bridesmaids gowns were gorge! One of them, you could see the boning through the dress and another the boning was coming out and sticking her by the end of wedding night. read more

I have been following pantora for years and always knew I wanted my wedding dress from Pantora. From beginning to end it was a great experience. The day of my appointment to choose my dress, my consultant Shaondel listened and made sure I chose the dress of my dreams. I tried on a total of 5 dresses and once I tried on the 3rd one my consultant started to get a sense of amtwhat I was looking for. She said " wait I have the perfect dress with just enough sparkle for you. And she brought put the cadence dress and once I tried it on I knew it was the one. We decided to try on a 5th one to make sure and I tried on the first dress again and knew the 4th dress was my dress. From beginning to end all emails were very detailed about the process and how long it would take for my dress to be made, when I would do my fittings, payment processes, etc. My bridesmaids also got their dresses from Pantora and it was a pretty smooth process as well as long as your bridal party do their measurements correctly. Also once the bridal party dresses are sent out please make sure your ladies put the correct addresses. Overall my experience was a great one I felt like I was taken care of through the whole process, it was fun and I'd recommend this company all day. My advice to brides is to be patient with your dress, I did get anxious waiting for my dress but 2 months before my wedding is when I started my fittings and I picked up my dress 7 or 8 days prior. They will do everything to ensure your dress is perfect. read more

I appreciate them because I was working with them from across the country, and they really made my dress perfect for my day. It fit like a glove. They were able to make changes to their normal alteration schedule so that I could get my alterations done on my trip to New York and they made sure my dress made it to me in one piece. One thing I would recommend (and this is only minor feedback to make the experience perfect) is frequent updates to the out of state brides. There were a few times when I had to initiate contact for updates, and if that were automatic, it'd be great. I wish I had known that they had bridesmaid selections prior to us picking out the dress because I would've gone with them. Love them! Before Pantora, I was definitely beginning to think that I had simply tried on too many dresses and they all started to look alike. Not at Pantora! As a curvy girl Pantora became a haven! Every dress made me feel like a goddess. My stylist, Shandel felt like family by the end of the process. She picked out the dress that I never knew that I needed! To make it even better, you can customize any gown!!!! #gamechanger I added in a corset, and dropped the straps on my dress. I was so satisfied with the process that I dressed my bridesmaids and my mom in Pantora gowns! It was everything! Brides Beware 17 days before my wedding and I had no dress... I placed my custom gown order over a year in advance and paid $5000 for a "luxury" gown. What I received was a chop job that was unfinished, handsewn in some areas, barely lined and altered until the dress no longer fit and my bust was overly exposed.The quality was not there The store manager was unapologetic and rude I was devastated and couldnt believe that it was even shipped, and this was after 2 fittings and begging them to hurry and ship it because I wanted my dress early just in case. So we had a great experience here at Pantora Bridal. Customer Service was great! The professionalism was great. I don't have one complaint. There was no pressure in regards to buying a wedding dress. Our consultant was very patient with us and gave us a lot of time. Parking was easy to find and we didn't have to pay. It was street parking so that was easy. Coming all the way from Baltimore we didn't know what to expect. Last but not least the most impressive part about this bridal shop is that the owner is so humble. This is a black owned business and the owner walks around so humbly to ask if everything is ok and just to make brief conversations. Half of the time when you go to a store you hardly see the owner, or they are not going to speak and talk to you. I am very disappointed in the level of service received (or should I say didn't). While I understand this COVID-19 pandemic has everyone upside down and sideways, however, if you are actively advertising and promoting video consultations, then let's follow through. Initially I paid for what I thought was a video consult, but later found out that I had actually registered for an in studio meeting, which of course did not apply. So I had to re register and pay another fee. I never received a refund for the first payment, and have not heard anything since. Fast forward to my consult, which was okay. My consultant and I ended the video call with her sending me an estimate for the 2 dresses I liked. Several days passed and I received nothing. I reached out and she promised to re-send (which in reality was not a "re-send"). And again nothing. This was a real blow as my wedding is in October. I was looking forward to rocking my Pantora dress, but a bride-to-be had to move on and use a company that did everything and more to ensure that they appreciated my business. read more

The only part that sucks is that the changing room is in the middle of the floor. It is blocked off by curtains but the curtains are so thick, it can get pretty hot in there...or so the bride said. This review is for the bridal dress shopping experience. I will update after I complete fittings and receive my dress to give that angle. This is long overdue but if you are in the middle of wedding planning then you probably know how overwhelming everything can be. I'm a 14/16 and searched for plus bridal gowns and everything felt lackluster. Most important to me was that I didn't want a shopping experience where only straight sizes were in stock and I'd have to use my imagination. I stumbled on Pantora and the range of models used convinced me to give it a try. I chose the Noir appointment which was a 2 hour appointment on a private floor (old location) and went with my mom and one bridesmaid. Before the appointment I filled out a little questionnaire about style preference and added pictures (don't forget to fill this out!). My consultant was Debra K and she was so great. Debra was patient, enthusiastic, and really listened to my me. It was clear she had also read through my questionnaire so we started off being able to narrow things down. There were some dresses that I felt okay about but Debra read my facial expressions and knew nope, let's keep looking. When you are trying to be open to things but should probably stick to your favorites, it's nice to have someone making sure that you LOVE your selection. In the end Debra came up with an idea to take the body of one dress and add the bottom of another. She pieced that together based on my reactions to different dresses and then she put them together with clips so I could see. It was perfect. We talked about all of the changes to make to the dress (like mesh sleeves) and she took all the notes down. And the dress did not go over my max budget. My mom and bff were so impressed with her as well. We had a really nice low-key experience, the private room was so worth it. She was so great that this review has been on my to-do list for a long time and I just knew I had to make sure she is acknowledged because I had a perfect shopping experience. Now some pointers that might help: --They have price ranges for their dresses in the FAQs on their website. That way you have an idea on the prices so you can decide if this place fits in your budget. I think they also have "on the rack" dresses that are cheaper but might have a different feel. --The Noir Appointment at the time was $150 (now $200) for a 2 hour appointment on a private floor. I went when they were at their old location so the setup may look different now (like private suite instead of floor). The freedom to walk around in your private area while trying things on was really nice. The fee does NOT count towards the cost of your dress, FYI. That was surprising and I wasn't going to do it but my mom convinced me that it would be worthwhile and she was right. Listen, if you have the funds I recommend booking the Noir. The traditional appointment is $20 and I bet if you can go on a weekday it might also feel private. --You pay half deposit at the end of your appointment. --They send you an email when your dress is done, not a call, so be on the lookout. --Fittings and alterations are an additional cost, they estimate you'll need like 3-4 fittings, and they have an expedited package for out of town brides to do everything back to back. I'm local so mine will be over the course of a few weeks. read more

Even before getting engaged, I was researching designers who had sexy, dramatic, one-of-a-kind wedding gowns. I feared not finding my perfect gown, because to be honest, everything I loved was over $10,000! While on Instagram one day, I came across a photo of a stunning bride... while reviewing her photo credits, I saw that her dress was made from Pantora. Update- After 11 long months of waiting, my gown turned out even more beautiful than i could have ever imagined. I worked with Isis at my 3 fittings and she was a joy to work with. I forgot my seamstresses name, but he worked magic to get the dress fit just right. Thank you Pantora for creating the piece of art that is my custom dress. read more

I wish I could walk around in my wedding dress all day! I heard of Pantora through social media, once I messaged her, setting up an appointment was easy. I visited stores like Kleinfeld and Davids Bridal but those options were either too expensive or not special enough. We sat down and I told her that I wanted something classic but with a sexier back. She DID NOT disappoint! I loved the designed and she worked around my crazy schedule to get me into fittings. I did get my dress a couple of days before my wedding and was nervous. But everything was perfect and pictures of my dress are still seen all over social media. Her entire staff was great, loved her store and champagne. I planned a trip to NY specifically to visit Kleinfelds, as I knew they had a massive inventory and I wasn't sure at all what I wanted to wear at my wedding. I felt like I shouldn't travel all the way across the country just to visit a single bridal shop, so one of my bridesmen and his husband our officiant let me know of Pantora, since it was close to their apartment and they'd just watched Making the Cut. I browsed their website and to be honest, wasn't loving most of the dresses as the majority seemed to be super heavy mermaid style, and I knew that was the one style I likely wasn't interested in. Still, the appointment slot was only a $10 deposit and they seemed to have some other non-mermaid styles, so I figured I had nothing to lose and booked the appointment. Pantora ended up being the 1st wedding dress shop I visited. Debra was amazing to work with, gave the whole party champagne, and settled us into our area of the store. It felt very private, as only 1 other party was in the store at the time. The store was small but very well lit, very clean, and very comfy for the party I brought along with to hang out while I tried dresses. Even though I wasn't sure what I wanted, Debra made sure she showed me a wide variety of different styles/patterns/cuts. I tried on 9 dresses, and although I wasn't in love with any dress fully, I did really like the top cut from 1, and the bottom from another. Debra offered to have them custom make a gown with the top from the 1 and the bottom from the other, but I still wasn't ready to make a decision. She also showed me what the dress could look like with a removable overskirt. Still, I wasn't completely sold. Regardless, Debra was extremely friendly and fun to work with. I had been a bit worried about trying on dresses without my 'ideal' body due to COVID weight gain, but she helped pick out dresses that made me feel beautiful in my current body and better than I'd ever expected to feel during this process. 2 days later, I had my Kleinfelds appointment. I tried on 12 dresses in the 90 minutes, and had a couple I liked, but they only made me want to revisit Pantora even more as they still didn't compare to the one. When I walked out of Kleinfelds, I immediately called Pantora again. I was in town for only the rest of that afternoon and part of the next day, but they were able to immediately squeeze me in for a second showing right before they closed (in the middle of a tropical storm no less), so that I could re-acquaint myself with the dress that I'd really liked the top of. I wanted to make sure the rest of the dress worked as well, and I'm so glad I was able to come back again, because I decided to end up going for it! I'm sure I could have come home and kept trying on dresses, but I'm not sure anything would have compared to the top cut of the dress I picked. I'm so glad I trusted Debra, who even had me try on a couple of different overskirts the second visit, to make sure I really had something I loved. I did end up loving the dress with the overskirt combo, and am so glad I was able to support a small black owned business to boot. Check this place out and ask for Debora! read more

Andrea is an amazing designer, creator, and entrepreneur and her team is fabulous. Each one of them were intuitive, professional, and genuine and made the experience seamless. Khadine picked out the most gorgeous and timeless dress I've ever seen and I would wear it 10,000 times more if I could. So I initially had a great experience. I urge everyone who goes here & anywhere you shop for a gown, TAKE PICTURES...all you'll have from your special day are photos & videos to look back on, since the day goes so quickly. I loved the gown in person, but when I got home & looked at photos, the seams were showing and it honestly wasn't up to my standards. I raised that concern to the designer/owner, and she told me to live with it. She told me over the phone that she already sent the order in to China, and there's no going back. So I did and gave her the benefit of the doubt (8 months ago...) She just had a baby and I'm happy for her, but during our first fitting appointment she disappeared without notice...we waited 15 min for her to come back to make another appointment, never came back. That was rude. So we told her husband just sitting there to give her our regards. I scheduled online. NEXT fitting (2nd one) too tight. She told me she ordered a completely new dress & assured me it would be better the next time, my breasts were spilling out and it looked crazy. I couldn't even sit down, and her words "you're not supposed to be comfortable on your wedding day"...um, I want to be comfortable for the most important day of my life thus far lol. 3rd fitting 1 month before the wedding!!! it was a HOT mess. I hadn't gained any weight, and the dress was too tight, wouldn't zip up, straps weren't attached. It's like it progressively got worse for each fitting! I tried to be positive, but It was terribly disappointing. I made it a goal to support businesses of color, and the owner Andrea told me that the fittings could go up to the week of the wedding...? It should've been perfect a month before for all the money we put down. And because you sign the contract for the deposit, you lose it. Make sure you're careful with them, speak your mind, and don't compromise for what you want, it's your day. I deeply regret working with them and I had to go elsewhere to get a dress that looked presentable. Definitely a learning experience, and will deal with them after my wedding & honeymoon. read more

Pantora specializes in bridal gowns, but Andrea also is amazing at creating outfits for special occasions. Andrea made the most amazing blush-colored sequin crop and midi skirt with embroidered details on the shoulders and skirt, custom and tailored to my body. I was hosting a New Year's Eve event and needed an outfit to help me "stand out" as the host. I received compliments ALL WEEK from her amazing work. I will definitely work with Andrea and Pantora again. Also, Pantora's show room is amazing. She has a great selection in gowns for brides, bridesmaids, and flower girls.
