I've been a regular at Pantera's for years and I can safely say that we order the hunk with every visit and half the time it's correct. Tonight was no exception. We ordered through door dash for delivery and it was the wrong crust, there was way too much cheese (so much it was overflowing the hand tossed crust) and there was a long blonde hair in the personal pan pizza. When the order is correct, it's great but tonight has made me and the kids take this one off the list for a while. UPDATE: the ordering on Door Dash is very confusing then. I chose a build your own hunk and there were choices on crust. My two cents here is that if I'm choosing the hunk, that's my crust choice. Or maybe use Hunk as a choice because "Pan" usually indicates a thick crust. I truly thought I was ordering correctly. Thank you for your response. read more

Stopped in based off of the high reviews and now I live super close so decided to give them a try. You come in, order at the back and grab a seat wherever. As far as the inside goes, feels a little rundown and funky/dirty but is a super casual place. They offer a buffet thats an awesome deal, about $10 for lunch and has tons of pizza and all of the apps + salad bar. We opted for a large pan "pig" pizza- ham, cheddar, bacon and mozzarella with the app sampler- t-ravs, mozzarella sticks, and wings. App sampler was super standard, nothing exceptional but nothing bad. The food comes out quick here so was definitely impressed by that! The pizza followed pretty quick after the app and was decent. I can't say it was crazy amazing or anything though. Love that this is a family business, but unfortunately I didn't feel like it was anything special. I would give this place a 3 star based on food but the inside was so funky that next time if I come I will 100% get take out. Pleasantly surprised by how good this pizza is!! We got the original crust chicken bacon ranch - only suggestion is that it needs a little something extra. This Pantera's Pizza in O'Fallon has been on my radar for a while. I haven't eaten Pantera's since the 1980s and have fond childhood memories of it. I stopped in on a weeknight and ordered toasted ravioli and the 6" original thick crust with pepperoni. The place was very clean and the food came out promptly. The salad bar was open but it looked as if they were following proper covid protocols. The toasted ravioli was your basic frozen variety. The marinara sauce that came with it had that acidic taste. It was probably just sauce out of a #10 can. When they dropped off the pizza I chuckled for a moment because it looked like my 1980s Book It! Prize for being a good reader this month!! I digress...The crust was thick and had some crispness but little flavor. The sauce was most likely the same as what I received with the toasted ravioli. The cheese was your basic chewy mozzarella and the 4 pepperoni were lonely but tasted good. This wasn't necessarily bad but it wasn't good either. Very dull. It was a nice trip to the 1980s. This and a handful of other locations are what's left of a pizza chain that was all over the St. Louis area in the '80s. It'a been decades since I visited Pantera's so I thought the lunch buffet would be a good way to reacquaint myself. For full disclosure: I entered with the memory of Pantera's not being anything special. Pros: The weekday lunch buffet is a fantastic value at $10.99-tax and soft drink included. Along with more than a half dozen pizzas the buffet included a salad bar and a selection of sides like buffalo wings, fries, onion rings, mac and cheese and more (the cooked potato slices seemed odd for a pizza side). However, apply the "you get what you pay for" rule. Despite the variety nothing was outstanding. I enjoyed the buffalo wings the most. They had a bit of kick but weren't eye melting. Veggies might be chopped daily, as the website says, but mundane iceberg lettuce, carrots and red onions still had the from-the-bag appeal at the salad bar. Pizzas were the chewiest I've ever had--my jaws got a workout--but were otherwise unremarkable. I remember the dough as always chewy but not the mozzarella. It was, perhaps, because it had cooled. So, overall, Pantera's offers good value for the buffet. But, it wouldn't list in my Top 5 local, dine-in pizza places. Buffet not available weekends. Staff was friendly. read more

We have been going to Pantera's for 20 plus years. Love that we can get thick, thin, or medium crust with any options. We love the salad bar and the weekday lunch buffet as well.
