Here's another restaurant I went to in Kaneohe town, and I totally blew it by ordering the wrong thing, as I saw a few of my Yelp buddies who came here and posted some FABULOUS looking pics of their plate lunches from this place called - "Pan's Kitchen". Located just across the street from the car dealership - Windward Dodge Chrysler Jeep, you can find this little hole-in-da-wall restaurant at a small strip mall. The restaurant looks newly renovated & clean. The day I came here was on a weekday, off hours after the lunch crowd. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted right away & after looking over the wall menu, I decided to get a Garlic Chicken plate. For ($9.95) I got two scoops white rice, one scoop mac salad, and some dried out chopped up chicken with flavorful garlicky sauce. Although the garlic sauce was strong & flavorful, I wished the served the chicken in whole pieces, instead of the chicken pieces all chopped up. Since the garlic chicken was served that way, I guess when they cooked it, I felt the meat had dried up, which made the texture of the chicken no as palatable. I relied on the yelp photo's to decide on what to order and got the hamburger steak and cheeseburger which mister and I split. The hamburger steak was good! I liked the gravy and homemade patty. generous with the serving, the salad is good too, I'd order it again. The cheeseburger was good, need to add more ketchup. The cashier is also distributing the orders and she was extra busy. The wait time to have my order taken was a while. Wait time for the food was worth it, everything was super hot. Love how clean and tidy this restaurant is. Plenty private parking and near by street parking. read more

This is a very old school local place, like plucked rright out of the early 80s. It's cheap. The foods ok. The place smells funny and everything caters to an era past. Coffee comes in a paper cup and is...not fancy. The food was quick but kind of bland. read more

Yummie! This Restaurant sort of reminds me of a Home Cooked meal today for our Lunch! My Hubby & I ordered the same exact thing, which is very rare since the both of us are total opposites!!! So, we ordered one of there daily Specials which was their Pork Chop w/Onions, Mushrooms & Gravy, one with tossed Salad = (Hubby), mine was with the Mac Salad, which I regretted when I saw the Hubster Tossed Salad, haha!! Nah, next time I'm ordering da Tossed Salad for sure! The Pork Chop plate Lunch is a generous portion, tasted good & both of us enjoyed their "Homemade Brown Gravy!", couldn't eat all of the Food, but the Hubby ate all of his of course!! Lol. We even took a "Selfie" (lol!) while waiting for our later Lunch today, hehe!! They charge around $2.50 for a medium drink. When I asked for no ice, they charged me an extra $0.50 without telling me. I would stay away from their mochiko chicken. It's bland. read more

First appearance, this hole in the wall local kitchen appears to blend into the tiny business center with several free parking spots. The BREAKFAST SERVED ALL DAY! $6.59 1, MEAT, 2EGGS, 2 SCOOP RICE and flashing neon "OPEN" sign below their Pam's Kitchen Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner sign definitely gets your attention! I'm going to have to check out that breakfast special one of these days! They are OPEN EVERY DAY! M-Sat 7 am to 8 pm or Sunday 7am to 3 pm. I decided to check this place out after doing my recycling run just down the street. I went with a Onion Cheese Burger and added a side of fries $9.62 a bit on the pricy side without a drink but the burger was very tasty and the grilled onions made it way above ordinary. The portion of fries was enough for two or a solo Hungry Don G. They were hot and crispy just like I like them and came with good old fashioned Heinz Ketchup! Good food! Local grinds! Well... waiting to start work and I got 2 hours to spare. I'm from Kāne'ohe but I've never been. I heard the breakfast was good and they gave a lot. So I ordered the breakfast special with Bacon and Soft Scrambled Eggs. As you can see from the pic. It was cooked to perfection. The food came out really fast and bacon was on point. The place was clean and there was only one other person, so I sat and ate. Got to watch h the news and just enjoy my breakfast. The food is usually pretty good and reasonably priced. However, I experienced getting a plate where I got diarrhea and a stomach ache within an hour after eating. It hasn't stopped me from buying take out from here but it has made me more cautious in what I order and I cut open the entree to see if it is completely cooked. read more

Idk if i just went on a really bad day, it was super busy around 10 am. I ordered the garlic buttered shrimp plate with high expectations because a co worker of mine raves about it, but it wasn't that great. Like i said, it was busy and could've just been flustered in the kitchen. The shrimp lacked flavor even with the garlic, it was soggy and not crunchy even though it was covered in tempura batter. The mac salad was warm i order it on the side especially since it's a cold food. But that's the norm in Hawaiʻi ( cold mac salad served with hot food) . I did love their spring rolls, it could've used more filling but the flavor was there . Surprisingly I haven't been here till now and I live Kaneohe. Used to be Chun's before. Yakisoba was 5 out of 10.. Meat Jun 7 out of 10.. Korean chicken wings 8.5 out of 10.. As we drove around towards the mall, we found this restaurant which is one of the few places that was open after 7pm that has better food than windward mall food court. Their plates are a pretty decent size at a little lower than average price of about about $11. We could share 2 plates among us 3, especially with a growing hungry boy devouring food everywhere we go. Pork chops with gravy, mushroom and onions - 3 1/2 stars - lots of pork chops, but their brown gravy had little taste. The mushroom and onions make up for it. Meat jun garlic chicken mixed plate - 4 stars. Love the meatjun and the soy based sauce that comes with it. The garlic chicken is bland by itself, but the taste raises a notch higher when I added the sauce they provide on the side. Rice was a little dry, and mac salad was average, but tasted better when the meat jun sauce mixed in with it. It's great not having too much mayo like some other restaurants slab on. Service - very friendly and food arrived at a decent time. Lady was nice and explained in detail when I asked about the food. Parking was pretty full, and parking lot was pretty dark at night. We found a stall at the farthest end of the parking lot. I'll probably buy here again when I'm in the neighborhood instead of buying at the mall because of the better quality, quantity and choices. read more

Tucked away in an industrial-type of area in Kaneohe, and pretty close to Windward mall, is Pan's Kitchen. This place is REALLY GOOD. I was house-sitting in Kaneohe and came here a handful of times over a week for breakfast and dinner. FOOD: -Super breakfast (specials board, not regular menu). Has roast pork, bacon, portuguese sausage, ham, eggs, and rice. Great taste and value. -French toast. Nice and fluffy, not too heavy. -Garlic chicken. So delicious. Looks like standard BBQ chicken but chopped into skinny slices (but I actually liked it that way). -Meat jun and hawaiian garlic chicken (specials board, and not the same as the regular garlic chicken). The chicken was more like a mochiko chicken that came with a dipping sauce. -Salmon. Moist, but could use a little more flavor. Recommend using your lemon slice. -Top sirloin with mushrooms. Steak was nicely cooked, not fatty or tough, and the mushrooms were nicely cooked and seasoned. SERVICE: I always encountered the same woman working the counter and taking phone orders and she is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of interacting with. PARKING: This place shares a lot with other businesses but I've never had trouble finding a spot. MISC: Lots of seating and cool temperature inside thanks to the A/C. If you dine in, there is complimentary water and a couple of televisions to watch. read more

I asked them to substitute it with fried rice instead of white rice. The lady replies, "Okay that'll be $8.50 because you want it with fried rice!" I'm overhere thinking that it's $8.50 total with only a $2 up charge, boy was I wrong. I get there and she has my food ready and tells me I owe $14.66 because they don't do "substitutes", instead they throw the breakfast on their Sumo Fried Rice which is $8.50!! My Vienna sausage breakfast was worth the price it looks like they give you the whole can. (Haha). The eggs were cooked just right and the rice wasn't overly packed in the take out was just right for me. My husband had their breakfast special it was about $6.00 something he said was good. This place was slamming with takeouts and phone was ringing off the hook and the walk in customer were going in and out. For breakfast this is the place. Now to try their other things on their menus. The food was good but not a whole lot of food. 3 tiny pieces of kaarage size chicken and maybe one slab of meat jun sliced in the small section of the plate. The Mac salad was flavorful and yummy. My friend ordered the beef saimin for $6 something and said it tasted like S&S saimin w bukogi beef inside but was good. This is a nice simple place to eat if you're in Kaneohe. When I mentioned that I was going to Kaneohe to meet a client, he suggested Pan's Kitchen. I couldn't decide on where to eat so I decided to check them out. My lunch buddy was unfortunately busy but she recommended that I try the Mochiko Chicken. Off I went to the Windward side. This restaurant is located in a older building with all the businesses sharing a private lot. When I walked in, the place was spacious and clean. There was a line to order so I got excited. I was set on the Mochiko Chicken but when I saw the specials board, I decided to order something else. Ultimately I ordered their Mochiko Chicken and Rib-Eye Jun w/Toss Salad vs Mac Salad. The cashier was friendly and efficient. She took orders and payments while calling out orders to the kitchen in Chinglish. It didn't take long before I received my plate. The portions were huge! So huge that my to go plate lunch box couldn't close. The Mochiko Chicken had an interesting batter to it and it was a different interpretation than what I'm accustomed to. It ranks about average for me. The Rib-Eye Jun was so tender and flavorful but I didn't care too much for the dipping sauce. Salad was plain with a package of dressing on the side.
