The food isn't overly expensive, you get fairly generous portions, and they definitely don't skimp on your free sides. The potatoes were a tad dry and I probably wouldn't go with them the next time around, but their grits aren't half bad. Hollandaise sauce is thick, yet runny, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The guacamole was offered in generous portions, and the only thing that I could possibly say they weren't generous with, in terms of portion size was my juice. That's fine though. He use to sit in the back with his computer or reading a book. The food is pretty standard with a slight European twist. It's high up on Peel street, not exactly a high traffic area. Most customers are regulars like I was. He has another place called the Brunch & Dinner Club in CWB. Hope it's still there too. The place is full so I asked if they would let me a cup of coffee outside and of course there was no problem.

Rather it is broadly American, with items from New York cuisine, Tex Mex cuisine, southern American cuisine, and others. I had a cheeseburger and fries and also tried the eggs Benedict. The burger was exceptionally well cooked, juicy and tender, but perhaps a bit underseasoned. The fries were similarly underseasoned but well cooked, just like the burger. The eggs were pretty good but nothing spectacular. Prices are very high and perhaps a little too high considering quality and portion size. Oeuf Meurette French style eggs cooked in red wine with chicken & bacon and Barramundi roasted with lime & tomato, served with smashed potato and rocket. So delicious, both. Portions were generous - 2 soft boiled eggs in the breakfast and a large cut of fish in the main. A tip: if it looks full, check up the stairs. There's an entire upstairs dining area! Will be back.
