In short: -great service -good price -very helpful and informative free consultation/staff -results wonderful Dani did a great job on my hair and after 2 days it's still holding up and looking great which for me is quite impressive as my hair always gets destroyed after a day!! I struggled with keeping my hair frizz free and defined but Dani was wonderful and very helpful when it came to hair care advice. She helped me figure out what products would work better and how to properly treat it and style it! I had a great time here and conversations were really enjoyable the vibe is very mellow and the interior has a nice modern loft tropical vibe to it which is refreshing. I always had my hair done at a barbershop and they would always mess up my hair and leave me with a frizzy mess but here when I left the salon my hair was styled cut clean and feeling better then ever, Dani went above and beyond for me and was very nice. Will definitely come back and recommend this place to others!!! read more

I've always just gotten a few inches off the bottom but decided to get a shag cut this time--I'm so glad I met Carol to cut my hair!! I was a little nervous but Carol listened to what I was hoping for and made it a reality. Really lovely salon experience, extremely competitive pricing for a curly cut (only $80 compared to $150+ other places are charging), and beautiful haircut. I'm from out of town but I'm going to get haircuts from Carol whenever I come to visit :) thank you!! read more

Carol is the most amazing hair whisperer EVER! She knows what your hair needs better than you do. I wanted to "experiment" by chopping off my hair, going gray, then changed my mind, then she had to correct my brassy ass head once I bleached it, to going to highlights to try to tone down the brass I had created; to finally ending up right back where I started - BROWN. She tried to talk me out of it. AND then, even when I f*d it all up, she still managed to make it look amazing. I will never go against her opinion again. If she tries to talk you OUT of something, do what she says. She's not bossy, BUT she knows hair. A fat lot more than you and I do! So, LISTEN TO HER!! Five star service, person and shop! They are like a family and you're laughing non stop. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I got a killer alt mullet from Hef! Highly recommend Hef, they listen and are queer friendly. Great vibe

If you need any barber services, Hef is your pal! I followed Hef to this salon and have loved every minute I've had the pleasure to spend with her! She always checks in at the beginning of our cuts to ensure we are on the same page. Always a fantastic cut and even better conversation! I'd recommend Hef to anyone! I've also enjoyed my time in the salon as well, the other stylists are always warm and welcoming! Support colfax businesses!! read more

When I moved from Texas to Denver, I thought I would never see a curl on my head again. My hair was flat and sad. Then I found Dani! She helped me find my curl again. She is absolutely amazing and I cannot speak more highly of this salon. It is fantastic. Everyone is welcome, the vibes are perfect. Run don't walk. Best Hair in Denver! read more

I absolutely recommend Bekah! She is a true artist with color, not to mention cuts. I always leave with the most gorgeous shade of blonde. If you're looking for a professional who not only is a master of her trade, but also takes the time to really understand what you're wanting in a result, I couldn't speak highly enough of Bekah! read more

Have been here a couple times- first time with Dani was great, she gave me an awesome cut. Then came back and had someone else cut my hair and he did an ok job, nothing special. Then returned a third time- this was my last time at Pangaea. Dani absolutely destroyed my hair. I showed her pictures from my first cut from her that I had really liked and asked for something similar and she started cutting huge pieces off the back. Gave me the worst haircut I've ever had- super uneven, choppy in the back, looked terrible for about three months. Can finally laugh about it now that it's growing out, but I won't be returning. Confidence was in the drain after that haircut. Uneven from the front, back was weirdly short, no way to style this. read more

I saw Dani at Pangea. I was super nervous going into it since it has been so long since I've had a hair cut and it's super long now (for me). Dani took the time to sit with me and talk through what I wanted before doing anything and really calmed my nerves. She talked me through every step of the way before doing anything. All the while staying super positive and enthusiastic about it. I left feeling like $1,000,000 without the price tag to match! I kind of want to go back just to hang out. I've never gotten a curly hair cut before but have done a lot fo reading online so I knew sort of what to expect. I am very low-maintenance with my hair and made sure Dani knew this upfront. She recommended products that will help keep me curls easy to manage and hydrated and shaped between washes. Total plus for a not-morning person trying to get back into the swing of things post-vaccine. They have two days a week that are dedicated mask days and the other days are mask optional. Dani wore a mask while she did my hair, the other two stylists did not. The check using Vagaro was super simple and easy. I'm totally looking forward to going back! read more

After many years, I decided to update my review for this hair salon and an experience I dealt with 4 or 5 years ago. I was bullied and intimidated by one of the hair stylists Dana, about my Yelp review. I wanted my hair a burgundy color (my hair was black/ dark brown) and after explaining what I'd like to achieve at the time, she totally agreed and said it was achievable. It was still my normal hair color and she just curled it/ washed it. Sold me Paul Mitchell hair products and said I needed to restore my hair, in order to get it into a bright color. After 2 months of selling me Paul Mitchell Marula Oil, I felt it did nothing for my hair. I was very disappointed that after investing time, energy and money for this product, she said she wouldn't lift my hair color. She was also rather cold towards me and overall felt like I was getting scammed. I totally understand that there were not bad intentions and decided to no longer buy the product. I was a regularly Yelping, just doing my own thing and left an honest review about the experience; Dana lost it and sent me intimating, threatening text messages to silence me. She also said she would never service me again and totally made fun of my hair condition (at the time) and was downright rude. I was so shocked from the text messages that I was forcibly asked to update this review and give her a better review... but it's not fair to me as a client to be asked to manipulate my review for her sake. If she doesn't work there anymore, that's great. I totally am able to return, but if she does still work there, I want her to know that I'm still going to keep my review honest. She bullied me the entire time and also threatened that if I didn't remove the review ... Well, you know where I'm going from there. She completely ruined my salon experience and I didn't go to salons for a long time-- she was cold, callous and totally unprofessional. She made me delete the text messages, because frankly, I was young and afraid. I was 17 or 18 at the time. read more

The staff here were nice when I was there. Greeted offered water, great conversations. The decor is beautiful so much positive vibes in there. Paula, is my gal! She blessed my hair ! Bleach is damaging but she worked carefully and thoughtfully on it. She used olaplex and explained what she was doing for what reasons and so on. She was a great teacher and such a fun and enjoyable person to chat with! I will be back :) read more

With Dani F's expertise she always does a great job on my longer style men's wavy haircut. I came to Shane for a cut and color correction. The first day I came in my hair was a complete wreck! Pictures added for your reference lol. He recommended some services to hydrate my hair and used some purple shampoo to tone a bit. He couldn't do any color the first day but I returned a few weeks later and he did my roots and evened out my color. He gave me some products and recommended ways to keep my hair healthy and without brassy tones. All of this for an reasonable price. Like I was shocked!! He's amazing! I will be returning to him soon as we work toward an icey platinum. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend him for anyone. He knows what he's doing for sure. read more

Pangaea Salon - Cut and color by Carol! - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I rarely write reviews but Saturday I had a cut & color with KJ - and the experience was so good I wanted to share. I walked in with a faded red and left with a magical blend of colors that are a work of art. I love it. My friends and family love it. And for the past 3 days I've gotten compliments from strangers in coffee shops, restaurants, and even just walking around the neighborhood. If you're looking for someone who knows color (& teaches others about it), book an appointment with KJ. I know I'll be back next time I'm in Denver. read more

I have very curly hair and my stylist was Dani. She did great! Dani was the best she really knows how to cut hair and keep a wonderful positive happy conversation going definitely be back

I saw Carol for the first time last night. I was so happy to see other curiy-haired women in the salon. She's a friendly person and made my visit enjoyable, despite my tardiness. She cuts well and efficiently using the dry hair cutting technique I'm accustomed with. I've tried Deva products before and didn't like them, but she has renewed my interest as my hair looked fantastic when I left. I'm very happy with my cut and will be back! read more

$285 later and I look like a frizzy q-tip! Not a happy camper. Will not be reigni Update to owner: You must have me confused with another client. The first time I came in I left with wet hair because Yanin didn't have enough time for me. She lightened my hair and didn't apply any color. Her other client came in while she was still washing my hair. I had to wait a week before she could fit me in. Walking around with bleached hair is no fun! The second visit she applied highlights. She took forever and I was the last client out. If you are going to promote your salon as a curly salon then train your stylist. The stylist should not be telling me that she's going to attend a training for curly hair. If there's any bullying going on its your overpriced nonsense for crap service! Yes I did look like a frizzy q-tip at the end of the second appointment because she put my curly hair under a dryer with no heat sheild product after applying highlights. read more

I called to see if I could get squeezed in for a haircut while my friend was watching my son. I was told that there was an opening immediately and I could come right in. I was greeted by hairstylist Yanin when I arrived. I had not gotten a haircut for months and I wanted to get a long bob to freshen up my look. Yanin listened carefully and clarified exactly the length, layering, and style I liked. She is a very good listener and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. She carefully cut and styled my hair and explained what she was doing and even game some styling tips along the way. She didn't sell me on any products. I walked out the door an hour later with a fresh cut for $50 (without tip). I will be back to see Yanin! read more

Pangaea Salon - Fresh Lob from Yanin! - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Was wayyyy overdue for a haircut and I hadn't found a stylist I'd liked in Denver yet so stumbled upon this salon and I'll definitely be back! Alicia did a great job of creating movement and body to my flat, heavy hair. I'll be back to her for my cuts and color Update: Went to another salon to get a balayage color done. The stylist asked if he could cut my hair for free because he couldn't bare let me walk around with such a jacked-up cut. He showed me large gaps in layers and uneven parts. I normally don't leave negative reviews but unless you have curly hair, their specialty, I'd stay away. read more

I searched Yelp for a new hair salon. And then Pangea showed up. I feel like I've gotten haircuts at every place along Colfax. This though deserves the best ratings. Ecstatic that a)this place is within walking distance of my apartment b) is located in park hill c) has a vision of serving all hair d) do awesome hair cuts and e) is affordable! Marco cut my hair and did an awesome job. My hair literally looked like a mop--and he did a great job of exceeding my expectations and cleaning up my messy mop head. Thanks! I plan on coming in soon to do hair coloring! read more

Lacey is the absolute BEST! Not only was her cut and color perfection, but she actually taught me how to style my hair and gave me all sorts of good tricks. Kenia (pronounced "Keena") is awesome! CUSTOMER-FOCUSED: First and foremost, she listens to you and really makes sure she understands what you want to do with your hair. I've been to too many salons (even high end ones) in the past where the stylist doesn't really listen and tries to push their agenda or own tastes on you. Kenia is customer-focused and really cares about making her client happy. DETAILED: Kenia very precise and has great attention to detail. This was important to me because I happen to have straight hair and any miscut can be really obvious. I just had a cut this morning and already got several compliments! Kenia can cut men's hair as well as women's hair. I've watched her do both with precision. In terms of the actual salon itself, it's easy to find parking in front along the street. The place is clean and has a cool vibe. The owner Carol is super nice and works there as a stylist too. That's important because there's nothing like an absentee owner who doesn't care about the customer. At Pangaea you don't have to worry about that. Carol is there and working with clients. Plus, I always try to support women-owned businesses! I'll be going there again for my next haircuts for sure! Highly recommend!! read more

Best salon in Denver! Great for all hair types and all people! Very welcoming and helpful

I keep going back because I can always trust that anyone I go to at Pangaea Salon will give me a great style. I have gone to four different stylists at Pangea because I am awful at making appointments ahead of time. I have wavy thick hair that other salons actually complain about because of how much time it takes to style my hair. I have never gone to stylist before that celebrates my hair and knows how to cut it. Yanin Lozano showed me how to manage my wavy hair with its random curls so I now have many fun hairstyles to choose from day to day. Marco and Carol are wildly knowledgeable about colors. I have natural auburn hair and again, never found anyone to help be brighten it up with more red and copper tones. U n t i l NOW! I feel like a celebrity when I leave with my new fancy hair. Thank goodness for Pangea Salon. They know how to treat a ginger. ;-) read more

I wanted to try Pangaea Salon because: 1. It's about 3 blocks from my house 2. Science was my jam in school, so when something's called Pangaea, my inner nerd loves it. 3. The MISSION. I love that they want to serve people with ALL hair types. I think if you're a real-deal salon, you should be able to serve anyone who walks in the door regardless of their hair type. I have the flattest hair of all time. It has no desire to do anything but be boring. However, Marco made it do *something*. It has a little wave. Yes, he had to put a boatload of hair product in it, but it has texture, which is nothing short of a miracle. read more

Where do I even start about Yanin. She squeezed me in for a cut and color and ended up staying two hours after the salon closed just to make sure she perfected my hair. I got exactly what I asked for and even better results than the reference photo I showed her. She genuinely cares about her clients and I'm a new loyal client because of her. For the amount of time she dedicated to my hair the cost was less than I expected it to be. Excellent work and great stylist. Very knowledgable and experienced with balayage I highly recommend her!
