July 1, 2018 - 4 p.m. Floors were filthy in need of vacuum; No tables were wiped off - crumbs and greasy fingerprints on every table; about 5 patrons in the restaurant with 4 visible staff and manager; cashier glared at my mother when she turned in a coupon for free pastry because she wanted her right to choose a scone & not the cashiers choice; cashier showed salad bowl for small & large size at register; both were filthy (this should have been our final red flag). Beverage station was filled with trash, wrappers, lids, spilled lemons, slop from spilled drinks; trash can behind us was over-flowing with trash & dishes; refused first salads because bowls were visibly, inexcusably dirty; got the 2nd salads where plates under bowls were dirty with dried on food. This was worst experience & environment ever had at a Panera franchise. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Moved to the area a year ago and this Panera is consistently awful. There is always a line out the door with just one maybe two registers open. Food takes a decent while to be prepared and they seem to be sold out of a lot of products on a regular basis. HORRIBLE!! This is the last time I will ever use this Panera for my corporate meetings. First the food was 30 minutes late being made - a big delay when you're trying to keep your meeting on a schedule. Then it was the biggest mess I have ever seen. It was carelessly thrown into the bag - some of the sandwiches even became partially unwrapped and some were soggy. The baguettes were just thrown in haphazardly and not individually bagged. There were no napkins or utensils provided. The staff for catering is extremely rude, now that the food quality has decreased; there is no reason for me to order here. read more

This is just the worst Panera I've ever been to. Tonight, as we often do, we ordered Panera through Rapid Pick Up. I ordered one of Panera's Thai broth bowls. I'm not even kidding when I say the bowl was filled 1/3 of the way. $9.49 for this?? It's very often Panera's lazy employees slack off at the end of the night and mess up your order by giving you something you didn't order, or not giving you what you ordered at all. We've been good about checking the bag before we actually leave, but now I suppose we have to open the actual containers to make sure we aren't scammed. I hate this place. read more

This Panera Bread has gotten slower and slower. I had time to kill before work today so I went to get a side of mac & cheese to go and it took them 20 minutes for just that!! It almost made me late to work. I can't imagine how long it would have taken had I gotten an actual meal. Plus, none of the workers seemed to notice or care even after I said something. I ordered grill cheese, soup and salad. They made the grill cheese and let it sit while the made other orders and they almost forget it when they made mine. If you know it takes less than 60 seconds to make the grill cheese than make it last. This is something you do everyday should not have to have instructions from the customer. Avoid. My experience today was the pinnacle of this generation. Employee who's name started with an S, exclaimed "WHAT THE F*CK" at my response to her needing some customer service skills. I was picking up my order one handed, wearing a sling. One hand attempt return the pager. Asked me to put another one back, while in a normal situation, no problem. One arm, good hand on plate. Hungry. I want that turkey chili. Her attitude changed right across her face, like I was imposing upon her. A few more words, and yup, I said it's not my job to do your job. As I turn, she sarcastically shouts, "Have a nice day." I turn and reply, "I will, and you can learn some customer service skills" and turn away, when "WHAT THE F*UCK flies through the air. I make my way, set my food down, go to the front ask to speak to the manager. The front area is full, and I could have just shouted that your employee cursed, however I asked to speak privately. Explain what happens, she meekly says, "Sorry, I'll talk to her." Huh, what? Talk to her? How about an apology from the "S", how about comping the food? how about anything? Manager X, didn't give me a name, nothing, is standing there like a church mouse. Since its up to me to remedy the situation, I asked for a refund. She offered to box up my hot food. Um for what, so it can eat it one handed in my car? Or let it sit in my car for the next six hours? No thank you. I handed over my card, packed up and left. Not returning there. Worst experience ever in a Panera. I eat at Panera several times each week. Terribly long wait to order and even longer to get food, 20 minutes or more. Running out of things at 1 pm?? Trash cans overflowing and dishes stacking up. Using plastic indicated dishes were not being washed. As we left lines were even longer. Don't waste your time here. read more

Food not bad service awful every time. A staff that is very indifferent and could give a #^%# about customer service. I was able to get around this lately via the rapid app unfortunately that failed me this trip. But not to worry the staff lived up to their reputation! Ok update: ...... When you think this place could not get any worse you are wrong. So after a three month boycott I decided since I was on a tight schedule to try the rapid pick up again and just keep it simple with two sliced toasted bagels. How bad could that be. So I walk at 9:30 Sat morning after the early rush there was one customer ordering and about 3/4 staff standing around doing Notta. Good right, I know my order will be there. Proceed to rapid pick up area and no order ( I have to admit I totally expected it). I then proceeded to the kiosk (you know at this point it's getting sideways) where a young lady immediately addresses me ( again not busy at all) I explain I'm here for a rapid pick up and she checks the POS and no order and it hasn't came over the system yet she tells me. I explained that when I ordered it on my app it said it would be ready in ten minutes and my card was charged. At this point She didn't really know what to tell me and she is just looking at me with a blank stare. You know the one. That stare that says "well you dumb ass you obviously mucked something up on your app order". As I'm standing there I look behind the counter and see an open empty brown bag with a receipt stapled to it waiting to be filled. Matter of fact the only open order sitting there. Kinda stood out like a sore thumb to me. Hmmm...... I think that could be my order. So I ask "is that it?" Well what do you know it is. Lucky day for sure!! So out of all the staff standing around it must not have occurred to any of them "hey that's an f'n order let me jump on that bad boy and have it ready for pick up. Anyway, so to top it off the staff again is very indifferent and unapologetic. Matter of fact it was the exact opposite and I felt like I was the one who should be apologizing for actually thinking the rapid pick up order would 1. Be there and 2. Actually be ready. They do get one star for having the order printed out stapled to the empty bag waiting to drop two bagels in it and sitting all by its self out in the open so I could easily spot it behind the counter. read more

I am 65 years years old and often have lunch with my two very young grandsons at Panera bread. I ask for help taking the trays to the table as I don't want to leave the grandchildren unattended. All other Panera breads have been accomodating but not this one. I have been here several times and each time I have asked for help I was told they didn't have enough staff to accommodate me, so I wasn't able to eat any lunch with the grandchildren as I didn't want to leave the grandsons unattended for two trips to the pick up counter. I really don't understand why Panera breads in various states can help but this one can't. read more

I had placed an online order for rapid pick up. Well, when my husband got there to pick up the order, we come to find out it's not ready. He asks a man where he can find his order and the man says they didn't have the pasta we ordered so he can refund our card or we can buy something else. Well, at first I must admit I was a little angry they didn't notify me by phone or email when they initially saw the order. I could have avoided the pressure of trying to find a new meal while my husband held up the line. But, the man was very nice and polite about fixing our issue. We ordered and he added extra soup and chips to make up for the fact that we had such issues ordering. He even snuck a second extra bag of chips to make up for the fact they didn't have any bread, which we both found odd. But overall, his customer service made this trip so worth it, I will certainly come back. I hope this man gets a raise because he deserves it! This Panera is the worst location ever. The restaurant is very dirty. Ketchup smeared all over the wall in my booth, the entire floor was disgustingly sticky (even though they had "wet floor" signs like they had just mopped). They never get the order right, ever. It's so sad because you pay so much for the food that has potential to be good, and then it's just not good and you wished you went somewhere else. read more

This used to be my "go to" place. No more. They seem under staffed. The booths are dirty. I've tried three times in the last month to eat Sunday breakfast there. The times have varied (7:30, 8:30 & 9ish). They had only a few bagels and NO soufflés! This particular Panera is absolutely FILTHY and in disrepair. My colleagues and I used to frequent this Panera every week but have only gone maybe twice within the last year because of the total filth. There are crumbs, greasy fingerprints and old dried food goo (for lack of a better word) all over the tables and chairs. The fabric of the chairs and benches are discolored and torn. The bathrooms smell strongly of urine. If this is the condition of the public areas I can only imagine the condition of the kitchen and food prep areas. Not a pleasant thought. You can just tell that this place has not been cleaned properly in quite some time. Hopefully they will make the needed changes soon. read more

The staff here are FABULOUS! Franchesca, Candy, John, Barbra - all treat us like family. Literally! My son and I go there a lot and we are greeted by name and they always help me get settled with the baby; sometimes bringing my food to the table for me or helping me get the high chair. Awesome people! I love the food at Panera, too. It is the only place I know of in Winchester that you can get clean food fast. It is hard to find good bread around here but I am glad Panera is in town because they have the best bread in town, it is fresh and delicious. Their coffee is better than Starbucks, especially Caramel latte and Caramel Frappuccino. Lastly, the service is always friendly and helpful. read more

We have had good service for the most part everytime we come here. I love love love panera and have since I worked at a location a few years ago. I would eat here all the time if it weren't as expensive. And they used to have more changes in menu options, so you could often get something new but not so much anymore. I do love the tomato and mozzarella Flatbread, roasted turkey avocado blt, French onion soup, creamy tomato soup. Their desserts are fantastic. Smoothies are fantastic. read more

Totally disgusting.I stopped going there for my morning coffee a couple of years ago because the Hazelnut blend always was full of grounds.One of the clerks told me that was because they didn't wash the pots from the night before.I decided to stop in today on a whim.They were out of my favorite,Hazelnut.The manager offered to go around back and fill my cup.He brought me back a cup of.....yes, you guessed it!Coffee with numerous grounds floating on top.He asked me"that doesn't bother you does it?"He did offer to brew a new pot,but I was already late for work. read more

Three items were forgotten from our order, one item was wrong. Grilled cheese was cold and chewy with half the cheese melted to the plate, not on the bread. This is the third time we have had an issue with this Panera. Their service is ridiculously slow. When you order Rapid Pick Up they never have it ready on time. This past visit there were 4 people working the register when we arrived. By the time we were at the front of the line (and the only people in line by now) there was only one person taking orders and the other three workers were just milling around looking at us in line. Always eat at Winchester VA location. Always enjoyed until last time. Cashier wasn't trained and soup was barely warm. Ordered chicken salad like most times and there was only about two tablespoons of chicken salad if that much. Took it back up and the bald guy never said a word but did add more chicken salad and roughly put it back on the counter as if I shouldn't have had a problem. I will try again today. I like Pandora in general BUT their bagel rack is al last always empty. I often like to stop to get bagels in the morning for my staff and they rarely have enough to even fill a dozen (especially the plain bagels). One would think if you consistently are running out of things before 10am, you would start making more. I even tried to be proactive once and placed an online order in advance (with a delayed pick up time) and sent someone to pick it up and they were told they did not have enough items to fill the order???? If you get an order BEFORE THE STORE EVEN OPENS, you set aside what is needed to fill the order! Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. read more
