This particular Panera has the worst service ever!!! I work right next door and keep trying to pop in for a breakfast, lunch or dinner. Each time there are several workers , that makes me happy I think quick service ! But no ! I am always waiting in line for 15 minutes or more! Why ?! So at times I try the ordering kiosk maybe that will get my food faster? No that adds another 10-15 mins on top of the already super slow paced Panera. My final try was the other morning I ordered a single cup of black coffee and a soufflé . I waited for 30 mins!!!! Yes 30 mins to be handed a cup and an item that only needs to be placed in a bag ! All 12 workers were too busy I guess? By the time they were ready to get my food the soufflé s were all sold out! I will not return to this Panera location. I will go across town if I ever decide to eat at Panera again. So frustrating!!!! Sad!!! The food is good but the workers are on there own slow timeless pace!!!! Lunch at this Panera has usually been a good experience, but not this time. The cashier took the order correctly, but the kitchen staff fell down miserably. First, asked for no cheese on French onion soup, came with cheese, ordered half sandwich, received a whole sandwich, asked for chips, received baguette, NO dressing on the salad!!! It almost became comical that so many errors could have occurred in one order. Williamsburg Panera needs to step up it's game, competition is coming! read more

First off, the staff here was amazing. They were all very friendly and cared about each order. Elijah was taking my order and was very personable and helped decide when I was stuck on two things. Usual panera fare, but I had exceptional customer service here this morning. My son drinks soy milk (he is allergic to cow milk) and that's not an option on the menu (or many menus at that), but they were very accommodating in getting him a small cup to have with his cinnamon roll. I also have a three month old who is breastfed and the employees were very supportive when some other patrons made some loud comments about my discrete breast feeding in a booth. Other patrons were also really nice to us and not the "snotty" W&M students others have described. If you go to panera you know what to expect food wise and our breakfast was what we expected for the price we paid. The employees were great and the service was fast! read more

I normally have no problems with this Panera. However today, they gave me a half rotten avocado on my sandwich! It wasn't like a few brown spots, like through the entire slice on both sides rotten. Not cool! read more

This place is kinda awful Like I'm sorry but I have (against my better judgement) continued to come to this particular Panera bread in hopes that it will possible redeem itself bUt no. I met a friend for lunch today at 11:30 and as the weather was cool and rainy, the inside was packed. We could not find a place to sit and had to change our order "to go" and bring it back to my office to eat. There were about 4 or 5 tables with only one person sitting there with their computers hogging space. One lady was sitting in a booth that could have held 3 people! While I understand this is a popular place for students, etc. to access WiFi, it seems to me that a designated area to accommodate these folks who want to study instead of eat would be reasonable. I love the food at Panera but in the future will rethink having lunch there unless the weather is nice enough to eat outside. read more

I've never been to this Panera in the evening but decided to stop in after a meeting for a treat. My most favorite item is the signature hot chocolate and I was so disappointed to receive my mug and it was lukewarm which made the marsh mellows squishy instead of melty into the hot drink as it should be. The evening crew seemed more interested in getting closed up and switching signs than serving guests as we had to wait to place our order. I won't be frequenting again in the evening as it is very obvious this is the JV squad. They can do better. read more

Williamsburg has gone through its fair share of coffee, bagel, and sandwich shops, and none of them ever seem to stick (Brooklyn Bagel, New York Bagel, Big Apple Bagel, etc). Perhaps now that Panera is in town there will be a consistent bagel place. The nicest thing about this place is that there's a large patio out back, where the locals runners can be seen on the weekends sipping their post-workout coffee. Oh and they support Williamsburg's burgeoning immigrant population! I think that the mixed-use development on this land that used to be a field is hideous, but at least there's a Panera here. read more

It's a Panera. It's a chain. They sell sandwiches, coffee, soup. They have free Wi-Fi. They are less than two miles from the William and Mary campus. In the evenings it's full of college kids decked out in the booths using laptops and sipping their nightly purchase of small coffee so they can retain their space. Need I really say more? read more

Panera in Newtown has the worst customer service I have had anywhere in a long time. The person taking my order never looked up, no acknowledgement, eye contact, nothing. Clerks were chatting among themselves even as I was asked for my order and all while I placed it. The Clerk's tangled hair didn't look clean and was only partially covered by a black beanie. Are questionably clean beanies the new hair net? And to the person checking orders for correctness - Puh-leeez put a glove on before you put your hand in my bag of food. I won't be back. read more

I had a very bad customer service from the manager today. When I asked a small piece of bread for my soup I was told "I have to go back to register and pay for it". When I asked I'm not asking extra I've already paid for it but it came so small, I've been eaten at Panera many many times I know the size, then the manager got upset and almost threw a piece of bread and said "here, take it". It's just ok. The food tastes fine, but they seem to run out of ingredients on a regular basis. One night my husband arrived 30 minutes before closing time, and they had RUN OUT OF BREAD to go with your meal. They told us they ran out of baguettes and rolls. Ok, it happens. We tried it again, and this time they had run out of chicken so it really limited your menu options. About $7.00 for half a sandwich, that had LITTERALY, a tea spoon of ham on it...and that is being generous. Cheese looked to be very thin slightly over a teaspoon. A COMPLETE RIP OFF. I'm shocked by the reviews on here! I don't write a lot of reviews, but felt compelled after reading all these bad reviews that all filter to the top. My daughter and I come here at least once a week. We frequently choose Rapid Pick Up, but also dine in occasionally. It is usually crowded, and I do admit that parking is terrible in Newtown. However, my food is always good. Always. That is what keeps us coming back weekly. I've been to Panera Breads in several states, and this one is similar to the rest. Loud, yes. Crowded, yes. Not impressed! - normally love Panera. Good food, good service and fast. We waited for almost 20 minutes for our food. I saw it sit on the counter for 10 of them (and the place was not even busy)! It wasn't until I went to get our food that someone ran up to bring it out to us. The tracker concept is an interesting idea... But only if they actually bring the food out when it is ready... Worst experience I've ever had at a Panera. This was my first time at this location - it was for breakfast. The staff didn't bother to tell its customers they were out of an ingredient before allowing them to order and receive their order and then telling them upon giving it to them. This is not how a business should work. Very poor customer service with no offer of compensation for not providing the correct menu item. Very disappointed in this location. They were also painfully slow taking orders and preparing food in the kitchen. read more

I have ordered delivery from this Panera twice. Both times, they messed up my order. The first time they left off one of my two "you pick two" items as well as a pastry. The second time, they did not give me salad dressing with my salad. The delivery driver should open your bag and show you everything and go down the receipt. I find it so ironic that there is always that receipt stapled to the bag with check marks, yet they still manage to forget things in my order. read more

This Panera used to run much better. I could order on the app, and my order would be ready on time. In the last couple of months my order always take 25-30 minutes, or more, after stated ready time. This Panera is much better than most! I wasn't a Panera fan at all until I ate here and was pleasantly surprised! If you eat in, the food is well prepared and fresh. The employees are ultra friendly and bring the food to your table. I also like using the electronic kiosks to order. This place gets busy at lunch and now understand why. read more

I have ordered from Panera many times without an issue until today. Ordered online for rapid pick up and when I got home I saw the bowls of soup and Mac n cheese were barely half full. I went back to the store and asked about why there was so little in the containers. I was told that they ran out of the small containers so they put it in the larger ones so it looks like there isn't much in there. I'm sorry. I get that they could run out of small containers, though it seems poor management, but for me to drive 10 minutes back to the store and search for parking in the rain to be told, "oh, it's all you were supposed to get". Seems very poor customer service. I am disappointed. read more

It smells like a sewer in this location. Seriously the smell hits you when you walk through the door. It's incredibly dirty too. Take a look at the food prep area when you pick up your order. The food is fine as always but delivery should not take an hour and a half to come when placed after the dinner rush, especially when the location is 5 minutes away from the store. This is not the 30-40 minute wait that your customer signed up for. Either offer the service with quality and efficiency or don't offer it at all. read more

Every time we have gone to this location, we have had a good experience. Nothing great, nothing bad. The main thing that I can recommend is to designate 2 order pick up spots near the door. I love doing order pick up, but hate the fact that more times than not, you have to walk across the parking lot to even get in. Would just be a nice convenience. read more

This local Panera has been our go to place for breakfast after church on Sunday for the past year or two. A cinnamon crunch bagel and coffee are what we look forward each week. The staff is pleasant and friendly and makes an effort to serve us as quickly as possible. About three weeks ago however the bagel toaster was not working. We were told we could heat our bagels in the microwave, but we do not like microwaved bagels. Next both containers of 1/2 & 1/2 were empty, and we had to take them to the counter so someone could fill them. Last the hazelnut coffee carafe was empty too and we had to wait until a new pot was brewed. If this had been the first time the 1/2 & 1/2 containers and hazelnut or decaf coffee had run out, we would not be complaining, but this has been going on for some time now. It seems no one keeps a check on the coffee bar. Patrons have to inform a staff person that containers are empty and by the time a new pot of coffee has been brewed our bagel is either cold or eaten depending on how hungry we are. We love the bagels at Panera and enjoy being at this eatery, as we find there is always a friend or neighbor there. It is a nice local meeting place. The past couple of weeks we had breakfast at another place in town where locals gather. The coffee there is always good and as soon as one carafe is empty another takes its place. The down side is that the bagels are not as good as Panera's and their regular breakfasts are more food than we care to eat. We are going to give Panera another try this Sunday. If we have a disappointing experience again, we are probably going to be done with Panera for breakfast. We are hoping for the best! read more

Used their quick pick up yesterday and was very impressed. I ordered online early in the am and picked up after work. Ordered several sandwiches, some chili, some baked items and dessert. Everything was ready on time, neatly packaged in a brown bag and placed on a shelf ready to go. All of the items were delicious and the chili was still hot when I got home. Outstanding!
