I love Panera, but i wish they would toast the bread/bagels etc. I ordered Avo Toast this morning with an egg and it not only looked like someone sat on it, it was barely toasted and cold. Panera always seems to be a hit or a miss. Overall the food can be good, but at times you seem to pay more for what you get. The service is somewhat non-existent. If you use the app you just pick up a meal and go. And the ambiance always seems to be a mix. If you go early in the day it can be quiet, but it also becomes an after school hangout and unable to find seating. They are all over the place, this one is just like the others. read more

I think the food here is relatively good but very overpriced for what it is. I know that is not the employee's fault that the company itself. However, this location has very immature, childish workers here. I really do not appreciate ordering a beverage sitting and waiting for it to be made while the women working in the back and front are using profanity and making fun of customers in Spanish. Completely unnecessary and very disrespectful. Everybody comes in here to enjoy some food and a mellow atmosphere. If we wanted to hear this type of banter, we would go to a sports bar at 10 o'clock at night. I sat in here for about an hour yesterday and heard these women literally go on and on about every customer that went in and said something nasty about them and another language. Hopefully Panera's sees this and can re-educate their staff on professionalism and how to act in the workforce. This location has a really cramped pick up line area, nowhere to sit either so unless you want to take up a seat where people are tryin to stay and eat, youre wait is uncomfortable and long. I will avoid this location for this reason, personally, as I always order to-go. The lady at the register was nice, but confused. We have frequented the Westborough location to grab quick meals via drive thru. Recently we've noticed that items would be missing from our order when we got home, and likewise this happened again this evening. I parked my car and went into the store to get the order corrected. The male at the counter was unapologetic and, after reviewing the contents of the bag I had just received at the drive thru window to keep me honest, went back to create the missing salad item. He shortly returned and handed me a small sack, and walked away without comment. I opened the sack to find a different salad, and had to call him back to correct again, which he grudgingly did - returning again with another sack which he also handed to me without opening or verifying the correct contents. This place as well as all of the other locations has deteriorated as to food quality and price. Something has likely changed in their corporate philosophy as the food quality is less than average and the prices are high compared to what you get for your money and the quality of the food. The new self service kiosks are a pain in the butt as you are essentially subsidizing their lack of staffing and the process of selection on the kiosk is cumbersome and not efficient. The amazing 1/2 Chicken Fuji Apple salad customized with kale, southwestern corn blend, and cucumber deserved 5/5 rating. This customization was complimentary. You can customize with up to five ingredients per dish. The Fuji Apple chips gave a nice crunch and burst of fruity flavor to the salad. The 1/2 salad came with a free side (French baguette, small apple or chips). The indulgent Tropicana Fruit punch tasted good. The customized Thai Chicken flatbread was standard. The free customization was to add tomato sofrito, spinach, cucumber and lettuce. The quality of service has been inconsistent. The young Caucasian brunette associate deserved five stars. On the other hand, Caitlyn has been getting all customizations systematically wrong. Her customer experience would deserve a two rating out of five. In front of the main entrance, there were three shaded tables and a bench. When the weather will get warmer, it would be nice to eat outside. This restaurant has a drive-in. Just finished my Grubhub deliver from the Westborough Panera and was totally disappointed in the quality of the sandwiches we received for the money spent. We ordered 4 sandwiches and two Mac and cheeses. All of the sandwiches were totally skimped on with the meat. It was like 98% bread and 2% meat. And for $80 for that I was actually angry to the point I will never stop there anymore. Panera in general is pricy but not worth it in Westborough. For an $80 meal, I can get a quality meal that is not sandwich based. read more

I don't think I get the value proposition of Panera. It's neither the best or cheapest option for anything that it does and almost any town with a Panera will have a place that outdoes it coffee/baked goods/sandwiches/salads. I actually kind of like the salads. They seem reasonably fresh and they add new ones all the time. Certainly better than most chain fast food salads. The sandwiches may have been interesting 20 years ago, but you can get a pretty good sandwich at the grocery store for significantly less than you pay here. It will probably be on better bread. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches aren't bad, but they aren't really any better than what you get at your standard fast food breakfast spot. I don't see why some people gave this Panera only two stars! I have been here several times at different times of the day, and have only had a problem with an order once. (And that being said, the manager was quick to come over to our table and apologize and then offered us free pastry for desert! ) It's a chain but the food is consistent and the service has always been fine when I've been here. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful in explaining what was in the different sandwiches. There have always been staff cleaning up the dining room; however, lets face it, children come here with their parents or teenagers with their friends...need I say more! Beware of the drive thru as they cannot get the orders correctly but they charge the correct $$. First incident - I ordered and paid for 2 sandwiches but only got one. Second incident - I ordered and paid for 2 sandwiches - (1) bagel with scrambled eggs cheese and bacon - there was NO bacon, (2) ciabatta with sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese -- it was on a roll instead of ciabatta. The order taker repeat and verified the order details 3 times. I called on both incidents and they want me to go back to correct the order. People use the drive thru due to lack of time to stay there and eat. I'm not driving back because of their mistakes. The owner of this particular Panera Bread could care less about the customer. Most individuals meetup or visit Panera during the business day, for meetings, studying, or some other type of collaboration. As a business road warrior, we and others find the store WIFI to be very convenient, useful & efficient when working remotely or while getting a little work done during the business day. This is the ONLY Panera, I and my associates have ever visited regularly, that NEVER has working WIFI for their customers. They have NOT had working WIFI since PRIOR to the Covid Pandemic!!! And the owner(s) refuse to put any signage to inform their customers, prior to them ordering several dollars worth of food, which makes their lack of customer notification very disingenuous. Again, this has been the case for over 15 months! So my recommendation is simply find another Panera Bread location (i.e. Shrewsbury or anywhere else) that values the "customer experience". I've been in twice recently and found it disappointing both times. The first time I got my typical grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese wasn't remotely toasted and the cheese was partially melted so it was basically luke warm bread with cheese. On our more recent visit, the place was packed, so you would think they would have someone cleaning tables as they turned over. It took me close to 10 minutes to find anyone to ask if they had something I could use to clean my own table (I didn't want to bother the people making the food as it was very busy). When I finally did find someone she cleaned the table for us and took the hint and cleaned up a few others as well. Two of our items were available pretty slowly as we had to wait for bread. Seemed odd -- bread is right there in the name. I'll likely head to the Marlborough location in the future when Panera is requested. read more

Well I've been to a couple of Panera Bread Shops, namely in Worcester and Brookline and both offered mediocre food, lousy service and a restaurant that needed cleaning.
