I have been eating here on and off for two years about one to three times a week and I have yet to have a bad meal. Even if they run out of something and substitute it for something else the meal is outstanding. Good clean eating comfort food. Today's lunch from Nan's was delicious. My tender sliced brined chicken breast was served over a generous portion of farro and lentils. These can be bland grains and legumes, but they certainly aren't after Nan "zhuzhes" them up with olives, peppers, onion, and spices. The roasted golden beets were sweet and refreshing, though I didn't get any blood orange in my serving of beets. Still, I love beets, and they were great despite the lack of citrus mentioned on the menu description. All the sauces I tried were excellent, including the z'houg and tahini. While everything was delicious, it was also quite salty...perhaps it was the cracked olives on many dishes, but even the sauces were very salt-forward. We ordered from here for a work lunch, and there were a lot of missing/wrong items from our order, but it was a pretty large one, and the person who was placing the order for us had done so at the restaurant (I think) verbally instead of placing an online order, so I think maybe we overwhelmed the place. One of our coworkers did not receive her lunch :\ The food was really good though! I ordered the chicken thigh bowl, but received a steak bowl instead, and was able to try a side of chicken from someone else's order which was nice and moist and well-seasoned. The steak bowl was delicious and I was able to get small amounts of all of the sauces to try. I really enjoyed the spicy kale and the cucumber and tomato salad that were in my bowl, and would love to try other sides next time. The bowls are reminiscent of Cava bowls. I was really looking forward to trying the chowder and the mud pie, but these were both sadly missing from the order. A couple of coworkers ordered the salmon bowl and some of the fried chicken sandwiches, and everyone loved their food. I also had the golden green tea and it was nice and refreshing. This hidden gem first caught my attention last year when I picked up a meal through the Too Good To Go app. The food was delicious then, and it's just as delicious now with an amazing service. So when I found out their café opens early in the morning, it quickly became my go-to spot for a quick morning stop. As with Stow, the fried chicken is all anyone talk about--and justifiably so, because it's great--but the real reason to come here is for the sides. All are screaming with flavor, and whether it's from salt or grilling or herbs or oils, (varies among what you get), it's going to be memorable, and more often than not memorably great. Fried chicken can be had in a few different flavors and in a few different presentations (sandwich, side, 5-piece entree, and tenders). All permutations are worth trying; just know that the entree version requires 2 hour advance notice. After my first excellent visit here, I had to try a breakfast sandwich. As expected, a breakfast sandwich here is fantastic. A good sized sandwich that is in perfect balance, great ingredients. I chose HAM as the meat as I find the bacon to be a bit too chewy for me. The ham is really excellent. While I loved the sandwich, I would like to know if they will make it with eggs that are not cooked thru... where there is still a runny yoke. While a bit messy, in my mind, will improve upon this yummy sandwich. Also, keep in mind that they may beat the time they promise your order. When I ordered online, I was quoted 30 minutes. Just to see, I arrived 10 minutes early and it was already on the shelf for pickup. So, instead of eating the sandwich there, I took it home and heated it up.
