Went to Red Barn for a mid-day pick me up drink. I was really excited to try this location as I have had good experience in the past. While the service was really good and quick, the drinks were not good. I got an Iced Latte with Cinnamon Bun flavor while my friend got an Iced Chai. First timer ! Was passing through westborough downtown and saw this shop. Wanted to get a quick drink and sides .. we got a regular coffee and a cappuccino... to be Frank , I didn't quite like the regular coffee. It was a little bit watery and less coffee flavor . Cappuccino was awesome ! Amazing taste and flavor . Service was quick and billing too. Was a little pricey but it's fine , once in a while .. They have a couple of small tables but mostly it is on-the-go customers. Bakery was actually good. .loved the cakes and muffins ! Parking can get a little busy in weekends . Weekdays it's easy . I would like to start by saying my family & friends have been long time customers. We have all enjoyed the coffee, sandwiches ect.. The past couple of times that we were in the store. We all noticed how dirty everything is. When your own employees are swatting at fruit flies and waving them away from the food. Who would want to eat that?The counter & register are covered in a sticky nasty filth, that most customers touch to pay. The dead fruit flies were in 2 of 3 drinks we ordered. Also, they were on the bottom of all our cups. Gross! The floor was disgusting with old wrappers, used napkins & sticky dirty spots everywhere. The containers that hold iced teas and other liquids, had a film that covered the inside. Probably some kind of Bacteria. Then on top of all that. The cost of our order was outrageous. To suggest that the Red Barn coffee shop downtown Westborough, is a respectable place. Sadly that is a big misconception, it is far from that. Disinfect Your place and stop serving anything before somebody gets sick! read more

Very pleasant employees. Good coffee I ordered a toasted bagel/egg/cheese w crispy bacon. Served cold bagel and cold not crispy bacon. I was the only one in the place so it wasn't due to short staff or crowds. Also my cinnamon bun is stale. While they come in many flavors, I find their non-flavored beans to be rather average. The place itself is a very sweet little cafe. It's very warm and welcoming when you walk in. The coffee on the other hand isn't my "cup of tea". The flavors are weak for my taste. As for the prices of the coffee and pastries, I'd rather spend my money at Starbucks and enjoy what I'm drinking. Just to be clear, I'm not writing a review for the store but for their online coffee service. I have been doing the coffee subscription online for a few months now & I'm impressed. I told them what types of coffee roasts I prefer and they send me a box every month with different coffees that fit my likes. This service is very reasonably priced. I like supporting a local company and their site is very easy to use. I have also needed to email their customer service a few times and they were so helpful and responsive. Best place around here to have an excellent coffee with a freshly made pastry? Any of the five Red Barn coffee rosters would be the answer. The $2.15 medium size coffee has been excellent. All pastries were delectable: The $2.40 muffin with cranberries was tasty: packed on tasty fruits with the right amount of sweetness, etc. I would also recommend the flaky and buttery spinach feta croissant. Chobani yoghurts, fruit juices, flavored waters, bagels, and oatmeals were also available. The store has a seating area on site, in the lobby and outside. Clean bathrooms were offered nearby. Easy and free to park on the shopping center parking lot, located a short walk from the Sake Hanna Asian cuisine and sushi bar and a 7 Eleven, etc. The points of improvement would be to: - offer free wifi to customers - put systematically prices on all pastries. The vast majority of prices was visible on the chalk board. Nevertheless, some pastries were lacking prices (e.g.: lemon poppy cake, etc.). read more

As a native Bostonian, I know people from Massachusetts don't appreciate good coffee. But COME ON! This is the 3rd coffee shop I've tried with objectively horrible coffee drinks. All 3 drinks we ordered were scorching hot (you're supposed to monitor how how you're steaming the milk-- even Starbucks baristas are trained on this), and our lattes literally were just flat whites. Zero foam. My sister's oat milk latte was so burned she threw it away and went to Starbucks. Just horrible all around. read more

This place is simply the best. The espresso and coffee were outstanding. They were both freshly made and the aroma alone was out of this world. Needless to say our taste buds were singing the happy dance song. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me select a pleasant blend just to my likening. I was charged nearly $4 for a 16oz americano where they gave me a half shot of espresso and put so much cream in it. It was milk flavored water and gross. The barista was super defensive when I was confused. This is a decent place for a cup of coffee and a snack. Mixed bag in friendliness department. Small chain that roasts their own coffee. I've had several of the varieties and most of them were quite good. This location is just a small counter with a few chairs in front so its mostly for coming in and grabbing a coffee/baked good to go. Speaking of the baked goods, they're pretty tasty. I don't know if they make them or get them from another bakery. Scones aren't overly sweet, which is how they should be. My main issue is the strength of the coffee, which is a little weak. I've bought a bag of beans and brewed it myself at home and it was better so I can only conclude that they just don't brew it strong enough for my tastes in the store. I'd skip the espresso drinks here. The machine is small and although I can't profess to be an expert on espresso machines, I don't think this is a particularly great machine. Although you can get them in real mugs, my cappuccino was a little watery and for some reason a little sweet, even though I didn't ask for sugar. I can't fault them too much for the machine, there really isn't space for a bigger/better one. read more

Love at first sight for this shop. I am still new to the area and always find comfort in a local coffee shop. This one is amazing. I had a awesome vanilla latte, a delicious ham and cheese breakfast sandwich and a strawberry smoothie. Two women were working the counter. You can tell they are hard workers. They are great! There was a line behind me and they just kept moving and were pleasant about it. Don't go to Dunking Donuts anymore. Get your coffee and donut ( they have yummy looking cinnamon donuts, along with other assorted treats). here. Please don't go to Dunkin Donuts any more. Go here for coffee.
