I've been coming here for years with zero issues, until this morning my friend and I had such a terrible experience. My friend ordered an omelette and we were sitting and chatting waiting for her order. Both of us had our eye on the kitchen and we didn't see anyone come out or call her order. Eventually an older man came out and was talking to other customers while holding an order. He yelled my friend's name and as she went up to get her order, he started yelling at her, saying he'd been calling her name, and "Why were you on your phone". My friend immediately started apologizing, but he only continued yelling, continuously saying "why were you on your phone", "I've been calling your name" and "don't cry about it". I've never had such a ridiculous experience in my life. We had been listening and watching the whole time for her order and didn't hear or see anything. And this man's treatment of my friend was beyond unacceptable. She started crying as soon as we got in the car to leave. It was an embarrassing and humiliating experience, and I will never be returning here. read more

Saw high ratings so we stopped in. Ordered two egg and cheese bagel sandwiches. Heard our name called. Watched a guy take our bag, open our sandwiches, wrap them back up and give them back to cook saying he had the wrong order. Perhaps the cook didn't know the guy opened the sandwiches but even after I told him he did not offer to remake them or apologize. I think his response was, "fine I don't care." Got a refund instead. Why not just remake them and be nice? read more

I come here so often the ladies behind the counter know my order and are making it as I walk in. They have the sweetest staff who know every regular by name and order. This specific Coffee Bean is really good. The other two locations are complete trash. Although the Upton's staff isn't pleasant all the time (you can tell they'd rather talk to their favorite customers than treat everyone equally), they make my coffee delicious and actually put a decent amount of cream cheese on my bagel (unlike many other coffee joints in the area). There are so many bagel flavors to choose from and from going off of taste, I wouldn't doubt it if they were homemade. This is my go-to coffee shop and I always end up waiting in line because the coffee is that good. read more

I'm all for supporting small business in my community. I have been to this establishment a few times. I was unaware that they are not pet friendly which is completely ok! My mistake... however, when I walk through the door instead of someone coming up to me, discreetly letting me know. Or kindly saying I'm so sorry we are not pet friendly. A gentleman who was preparing peoples orders, looked at me with the meanest look just shaking his head no without saying a word. I assumed he was addressing me, and so I said "no pets?" and he just shook his head again without saying a word. I just turned and left. I would like to and that, I've been in there before waiting on a lunch order and there has been a dog in there while I waited. Again it's their prerogative but also why I assumed they are pet friendly. The encounter with that man was embarrassing, uncomfortable and unkind and I will find another local coffee shop to support. read more

I am writing this in hopes the owners wake up and avoid this happening to other paying customers. We visited this establishment on May 20, 2018. It has turned into a nightmare. Yesterday May 25, my husband was posted on a local police site asking for people to identify him regarding an incident. Since my husband was at dialysis I called the police to inquire what the issue was. He was accused of stealing $10. When my husband exited the establishment 5 days prior, he did inform me that the cashier had almost short changed him, as I had handed him a $20 bill. I do not know who this cashier's parents are, but I am fairly certain this is not at all legal. To slander my husband all over facebook because she was incapable, the manager was incapable and even the owners to know how to handle properly a dispute over change is deplorable. The cops do not have the right to get involved, the BBB will be contacted regarding defamation of character as we run a local business as well. I urge everyone to read this and understand, we are good people, and try to be patient. However avoid this place and their poorly run establishment. You are far better off going to Dunks around the corner and avoiding possible public humiliation. read more

Excellent coffee! Most amazing place I possibly could go for a coffee. They have a great selection, my personal favorite being the Java chip iced coffee, as well as their delicious food! My go to being jalapeño cheddar bagel... I must say their customer service is not only fantastic, but you really get to know the employees from going so often and they love to build a relationship with their customer. It makes you want to come back every time. If you're looking for a go to coffee place this is the one. I live in Rhode Island so it is quite a hike for me but I think it is worth it in every way! read more

Wow. All I can say is wow. I have been a regular for almost 10 years and I can't believe the experience I had with one of the workers today. First off, this is not the first time this worker has been rude to me. She has made my coffee wrong on purpose and has had said several rude comments to me. Today was the last straw I couldn't belive her attitude. I asked for a regular sticky bun with a little extra cream. She made it extra extra cream and extra extra sugar. I chose to ignore it because it's just a coffee. My food comes out with no egg and extra bacon when I ordered a bacon egg and cheese. At this point I know I was being messed with because the workers all know my order and I'm just very confused. I asked for it to be changed to egg and she said "you can buy a new one because I know what you said" I was being nice at this point and I was like "I'm sorry if you think I said it wrong but can I please have egg" she said "buy a new one or leave". I was in otter shock. I couldn't bite my tongue anymore and told her she has a horrible attitude and threw my food away and left. I don't know if it's the new management or what it is but I miss the old bean with nice wonderful workers. I worked in customer service for years and I've dealt with rude customers but considering this was my third time here and she was rude I knew it wasn't a bad day and she just always acts this way. read more

Coffee bean. A home town favorite. When ever I'm back in town it's always one of the first places on my list to stop by. I have to say this is a high schooler hot spot though... so if you want to avoid the rug rats I'd avoid 7am-8am and 2pm-3pm. IF YOU DO COME AT THESE TIMES BEWARE OF LONG LINES AND HORMONAL TEENAGERS!!! Ice coffee is very good(depending on the person who makes it) the bagels are good as well (also depending on who's making it) the cream cheese is always WAY too much or not enough. This is a great spot in the small town of Upton and obviously a fav of many as witnessed by the early morning lines! Don't let that dissuade you... the staff is efficient and things move along pretty quickly! Huge bagel selection for a small place and an equally impressive list of coffee flavors! Coffee was excellent but being our first time, we didn't realized it is prepared in the back so unless sweetener over sugar is specified, it is made with cream and sugar. We ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches to go along with a bagel , 2 muffins and coffees. It was the Monday after Xmas and pretty busy but turnaround time was speedy! All were yummy! There are several booths for ordering and dining in but most were taken by the time we left and the line approached the door! Different variety of bagels and sandwiches than the Dunkin Donuts right across the street, and way more parking too! Unforch, they don't have a drive-thru. It's worth it to get off your bottom and stand in line for a minute. The coffee is great, not sure what brand they use but they offer a bunch of different flavors that you don't see everywhere else. Visited this coffee shop 05/21/18 around 1:40pm to get a coffee. It seemed like all the staff were on the clock judging by how many there were of them behind the counter. I stood for a good minute or so while they ignored me; not even a smile or a hello from any one of them. When one of the female staff finally spoke up she did so in a very rude and rushed manner. One thing I could say about this Little Coffee Bean shop is that the staff need some training and counseling on the importance of good customer service. My other criticism of this coffee place is that it doesn't accept American Express; while that doesn't even bother me since I have a secondary card that is not an American Express I find it odd that a coffee shop/cafe that supposedly sees high foot traffic doesn't even want to set itself up to accept all forms of payment. read more

The line usually runs out the door and people are happy to wait. This tells you something. Not much seating (~20), but who cares? This is an awesome place. It's like another universe when you walk in and everyone is hung over, wearing gray sweat pants and slugging delicious coffee until the headaches go away. The food is amazing and the staff is always so friendly. The seating is basically a free for all, and people slap down their car keys at an open table as soon as they can. I can't tell you how many bacon egg and cheeses on everything bagels have gotten me through the emotional turmoil of highschool. I've been there only once to get coffee with a friend of mine, but when one of the (very friendly) women behind the counter messed up on an order (the same exact order my friend had just happened to place, but in the largest size possible) we were given the coffee free of charge. To be fair, the shop was pretty dead when my friend and I spotted it and went in. All the chairs were on the tables and the 3 women behind the counter were more interested in discussing Halloween costumes for their pets than waiting on us. They had nothing out for doughnuts or bagels (the sign outside about yummy bagels is what drew us in) and the coffee flavors were your standard New England Coffee fair. We bought a small Very Berry and it was okay but nothing exciting. It might be the type of place to visit earlier in the day, who knows - we aren't in the area enough to warrant going back. read more
