A "qualified 4." Been a while, and I work in the area again, so an update after a couple years and a few morning visits. - Still a great vibe, with comfy seats for resting, eating, working, or playing checkers (which they provide), plus a view into the roasting area. - Still good coffee, with two rotating original roasts available daily (one lighter, one darker). - No longer are donut collabs with Donut Stand a Thursday thing. As for food: -- Cranberry Orange Scone: Superb. Slightly sweet, a little biscuity, with good moistness and understated glaze that lets the base shine. Sometimes warm. -- Chocolate Croissant: I doubt this is made in house. Flaky, yes, but something's off. Seems like a prefab product from the freezer section. You can do much better than this. -- Rugelach: Very rich with potent Nutella flavor. A little greasy, but in a good way. Small but packs a flavor wallop. -- Cinnamon Bun: Decent. Nice moist glaze and a somewhat dry winding dough. -- Brioche Bun: A small round braided number similar to a pain swisse but also a Scandinavian bun, with custard and chocolate chips. Innovative, but dry and rubbery. Good coffee and good atmosphere, but a mixed bag on the morning treats, with some hits and misses. Order what works for you and you should be happy, especially when comparing against similar places in the immediate area or distant 'burbs. Just don't expect Boston quality and you'll be fine. read more

Thanks for being there for me, Aero. Ever since my workplace took away my beloved nitro cold brew due to rising costs, Aero has become my go-to on commutes. Heading to work, I can't help but make a stop for a their Americano. Even with Starbucks on my route, Aero remains my top choice as I head east. The quality and flavor consistently makes each visit worth it. read more

This spot offers everything you'd want visiting a busting cafe/bakery in the morning! The energy here was so enlivening with upbeat music and several customers enjoying their drinks and breakfast without it being overly noisy or crowded. Their menu offers A TON of delicious fresh baked pastries that all look absolutely delicious and they also have various healthy breakfast and lunch options to satisfy your more savory cravings. Overall, the experience eating here was perfect! From the moment I walked in the door, the baristas were sweet and happy as could be, brightening my morning from the get-go. The food was served up quickly and with delicious and fresh flavor. The avocado was ripe, the egg cooked perfectly, the bread toasted nicely, and the entire dish seasoned well. As for the matcha, it wasn't the highest quality powder in the world but still had good flavor. I'm a huge fan of this spot and I can't wait to go back and try some of their popular pastries! read more

I was recently searching for a new coffee shop to try in my travels out of town. I came upon Aero Coffee and man, I was not disappointed. The options of pastries and coffees made it so hard to choose! So, I didn't choose one pastry...no, no, no. I chose five! Each and every one of them was delicious. Do me a favor and try one of their scones. They are off the charts. The real MVP was the everything bagel stuffed croissant. It had a fancier name that I can't remember. THAT pastry definitely lives rent free in my mind! I also tried the iced chai and it was delicious. All in all, if you love variety with quality, come to Aero! read more

Aero is simply great. The coffee is delicious year round. I'm a sucker for any seasonal latte they concoct. The coffee at Aero is excellent. I got the rose cardamom latte and I could not get enough. They told me they steep rose petals to make it and it shows. My husband got the cortado and really enjoyed it. He said it was different from what he is used to when we go out. Ambiance is chill and low-key, too. Can't wait to return! read more

Just what you want in the morning.. or after! The breakfast sandwiches are excellent- very fresh, well-prepared ingredients. The drinking chocolate is amazing (yeah I'm that type). The chocolate chip cookies are YUM. The smoothies are very fresh and flavorful. The service is great, and the team seems to enjoy working there. We come here quite frequently and happily. Great coffee, friendly helpful staff, tasty sandwiches and pastries. We often buy their whole house-roasted beans for home use. A perfect local coffee spot! Plus, they offer actual washable mugs/glasses and plates for dine-in customers, which is always so much nicer than the compulsory lined paper cups and disposable containers some places use for every type of order. read more

It boggles my mind that I have not reviewed Aero until now. It's been my regular spot for over 15 months now. The coffee is fantastic, and I'm into flavored lattes when done right, and Aero is my favorite. It's so common for flavored syrups to just taste like pure sugar, or give that "oh, is that supposed to be cinnamon?" sensation. Aero's house-made syrups are creative, delicious, and most of all for me, aren't pure sugar and taste like something. The food is all good - the everything croissagel and the sandwiches are personal favorites. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and knows what they're doing. I'm here at least 3 times per week, since it's a great spot to talk or work. read more

I had not been out for breakfast since I started trying keep my grannie pudgy curves well proteinated after an F45 slaughter. Of course I don't lose weight... I find it! And after blood, sweat and tears setting up an Airbnb, I announced "I WANT A MUFFIN"! (What? Grannie eats eggs like they are never ending?!) and we head out to C'est la Vie only to have our dreams of coffee and croisants and pastries and gougeres crushed. Like a bug. It was a crisp and early Sunday morning, and I had no other choice than to turn to YOU my helpful, yelpful people. And you sent me to Aero. SHUT UP! The coffee? Serious business here, craftfully roasted in-house. Perfect strength and roast without the starburst bitterness... The baristas are sweeter than the pastries in the case and take so much pride in making you a beautiful and creamy cupojoe. And that started my love affair. The Morning Glory muffin is a "mini carrot-ish" cake in a fluffy muffin, curing all muffin cravings dead on the spot and starting what now will be muffaholism... The case just sucks you in. On carb control diet? Don't even bother. This is not the place for you. Go outside and chew on grass. Let us glutinous people be. Particularly that heavenly sinful fluffy roll that is bacon and onion party in a buttery and decadent bun. Of course I brought one home and made an egg and sausage bfast sandwich the next morning... Shameful. I have no shame. The hub had an egg, bacon and moz on english muffin. Drop jaw and mike and just roll into fetal position and cry. Because it puts breakfast cafe-style to shame. This is a place for flour and sugar and bacon and caffeine loving humans. Yes. it is. read more

Wow. I've been obsessed with coffee most of my adult life, and I've been to many coffee houses in several countries. This is probably the best I've ever been to, and I don't say this lightly: the mocha served here has the perfect balance of bold espresso, rich chocolate, creamy steamed whole milk served at the perfect temperature for immediate consumption. I waited approximately 60 seconds for my order. The pastries are insanely good. Caramelized sugar on the bottom of the cinnamon roll with pumpkin (cream cheese?) icing that is decadent, fully featuring the pumpkin without overpowering the beauty of the cinnamon roll. I also got an egg and cheese sandwich, which didn't look spectacular but was still honestly way better than any egg and cheese I've had in recent memory. I think it's because the egg wasn't overcooked and came properly seasoned. Cheese was melted enough to be gooey, but critically not too melted to lose the sharpness of its astringent flavor. You walk in and are hit with the beautiful smell of coffee and pastries. The decor is cool. The atmosphere is inclusive and the staff gives a damn. 10/10 I might eat here every day. The best part... is that it blows away the competition in the area. There hasn't been a REALLY good coffee house in the central MA/Metrowest area since Sofa Café closed, and this one is somehow better. Thanks! read more

Omg!! I love love love this cafe!! I went there twice in a row on our short visit to MA. I am amazed that they roast their coffee on site, and they make their amazing baked goods right there too. I got their strawberry and cream cheese croissant, an egg and cheese on croissant, and latte with almond milk. Everything was delicious! I also like how they do a little bit of coffee art, that makes for nice presentation. The service is nice and friendly too. I will definitely visit again if I happen to be in that area again. read more

This place is fantastic. Think of a better version of Starbucks without the massive franchise approach but more local, friendly and comfortable. The coffee is excellent, but the bakery and sandwiches are incredible. So. Good. Stopped by after my weekend hike for coffee and a snack. They were able to make me a macchiato, and not the Starbucks kind! It was delicious. I also had a chocolate croissant and it was out of this world yummy! Love this place. Can't wait to stop by again! read more

Good coffee. The matcha latte is not too sweet. I've gotten the turkey sandwich - good crunch on the bread. The jalapeño cheddar scone was a bit too dry and no one offered to warm it. The service doesn't really ask if you're staying or going. Feels impersonal. The space is cute though, they could use more seats in my opinion. read more

Not good. I've only gone here once but my experience wasn't the greatest. My latte was luke warm despite ordering it extra hot. It also had that unpleasant burnt caramel taste which is really unpleasant. I've experienced at many independent coffee shops and I would really like to know what causes it so that I can explain it to the Barista when it happens. Drank a quarter of it then into the trash. The pumpkin biscotti was very large but very soft. I like my biscotti's to be hard. Maybe it was supposed to be soft but not my cup of tea. Also, no pumpkin flavor that I could detect. I might give them another shot but so far, so bad. Two stars for atmosphere. read more

Aero Coffee Roasters - Great hangout spot to do work or socialize. Highly recommended. - Bakeries Near Me - Northborough, Massachusetts

Wonderful coffee and food - great service - very nice Will definitely be back . Very busy on Saturday mornings

Really good espresso in a beautiful location. Employees: very efficient, nice, and knowledgeable. Coffee: cortado was excellent. (Brewed coffee was OK - sitting a while in the warmer really does not show off the brew, though I understand why they do it perhaps make smaller amounts more frequently during off-peak hours like lunch). Food: wrap was excellent, and pastries looked amazing even if I didn't partake. Suggestion: additionally coffee brewing methods. An Aeropress at Aero would be welcome, for example. It would also show off the roasting better than the warming carafes. It didn't hurt that the Decemberists were playing in the background. Probably 4* for the non-espresso coffee but +1 given the overall experience. Glad I found them. read more

They have a nice selection of gluten-free baked goods. When I lived nearby, I'd get the blueberry thyme bar on a regular basis. The drinks I've tasted have always been great. The people there are friendly, atmosphere is lively, and it's a great place to hang out with others. read more

Great coffee and food. I've had an iced latte and their cold brew. They have a great menu and the blueberry bar I had was excellent. Baristas were knowledgeable and friendly. Also the area is quiet for being right off rt 20. Plenty of parking and seating even on a weekend morning. read more

This is a huge space right along Rt 20 that had the misfortune of opening during the pandemic. Despite that, it seems business is pretty good and relatively busy for them. I've probably gotten food and drinks here 5 or 6 times now, and there are always at least a handful of other people eating outside or waiting in line, so I'm surprised there are no other Yelp reviews for this spot. The pastries and sandwiches are the real standout items to me. I think they have a pastry chef who bakes from scratch every morning. The plain croissants are always out by the time I get there, even when I went in at 9am! But the one time I got a hold of them... delicious. Amongst their baked goods, I've tried their jalapeño cheddar biscuits, nutella scone, cranberry biscotti, plain and chocolate croissant, and cookies. All of them were delicious, though my favorites were the scones and croissants. They taste freshly baked and suuuuper good really. Probably the best baked goods in this area. Their sandwiches are also great. I've tried their Cuban panini, their chicken salad wrap, and their BLT. My favorite was the BLT, and it was a good price too for $4 compared to the other sandwiches. I think the drink quality can be inconsistent. I've had perfect lattes and then lattes that were too bitter. The brewed coffee is fine though, that's been consistent. You also get a small complementary coffee if you buy a bag of beans which is nice. I've tried a couple bags of their beans, and they're fine, but I think until they finish setting up the roastery, I'll stick to Armeno Coffee Roasters since they roast the same day, and right now Aero is packaging up and shelving so the beans aren't the freshest. I'm looking forward to trying the beans once the roastery is all set up though. Lastly, the people behind the counter are super nice. Great customer service. I think it's commendable what this place is trying to do. Roast coffee and sell it but also use that coffee to make their drinks and bake all their pastries in-house. There aren't a lot of coffee shops that do this, especially in Northborough, so it's an exciting addition to the cafe culture here. The space inside would be fantastic for studying or chatting IF it weren't a pandemic right now, but I hope this place sticks around until we get a vaccine, so I can try dining in at some point. When the weather was nicer, the outdoor seating was really nice. There is ample parking and it's a convenient spot to get to from the state highway. It's worth making the trip here to at least try it! Also, @aero, please bake more plain croissants!! They're so good read more

Aero is the best coffee roaster in the area, in my opinion. And the cafe is great. I tend to go a few times a month, to pick up a bag of coffee, grab a cup, and sometimes get a breakfast sandwich. Their in house roasting is fantastic. They offer a lot of single origins, from Central/South America, Africa, and Asia, their light roast is truly light-and they get it right. I'm not much into dark, so I can't comment on those but I also like their medium roasts. And they have some really nice blends. each time I go into the cafe, they feature two different batch brew options, usually a light or medium and a dark. it's all good. I'm not much into espresso drinks, so I can't comment. the breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and they have gluten free options. the muffins and pastries all look wonderful, though I rarely partake. the owner is always super helpful when I am poking around the coffee bean section, explains things, helps me choose based on what I have previously liked. AND the bags have roast-on dates, not best-by dates. don't buy coffee that does not have roast-on dates. love this place. read more

I'm pretty picky about my espresso. I order cappuccino most of the time, occasionally straight espresso. Like most places Aero doesn't know how to make a cappuccino. It's a latte. We decided to check out this coffee shop after hearing good things and were so happy that we did. It's hidden in the corner of a small shopping plaza in Northborough but definitely worth the trip out. The plaza has ample parking and it looked like they may have some outdoor seating available when it warms up. There is an on site roasting area that you can look at through a glass divider which I thought was cool. The food and coffee drinks were fantastic and The place also had great staff. They had fresh baked pastries available so I tried the cranberry orange scone which was flaky and a nice combination of the flavors without being too overpowering. We tried a coffee of the Thailand Doi Saket Honey beans which was great (liked it so much we got a bag of beans to take home) as well as the cookie butter latte which is a flavor I don't see often (and may have been seasonal) but I really enjoyed it. They added just enough of the flavor syrup to get a hint of cookie butter without it being too sweet and the espresso was smooth. The shop has alternative milk options too including almond and oat milk. As for food, we tried The Aero which consists of bacon, egg, cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo and a pesto, tomato, mozzarella, and egg sandwich both of which were served on toasted english muffins. While there, I noticed some people ordered their sandwiches on croissants so I'll likely try that next time. Both sandwiches were flavorful and better than I've had at some brunch restaurants. I have nothing but wonderful things to say and will definitely be back to try more of their various coffee beans as well as other menu items (they serve both breakfast and lunch). read more
