12/23/2019 I started ordering from them again.. Every Friday is "Buffalo Chicken Friday" where I work and Athens delivers the goods. So far we are an hour and a half waiting on a small Pizza and salad that was supposed to take 30-40 mins. Everything wrong. First I had to repeat all my information to not one but two confused guys to order the food. Then a confused guy called to say he was in the lobby (ordered to a hotel) but when I can down he wasn't there. Called him and found out he had gone "to the other place". The restaurant called me and said "ma'am don't give me a hard time, I apologize". They offered a free drink. I said the pizza should be free and he said no, so I told him I wouldn't pay for it and he could eat it. Got a call six minutes ago from the delivery guy that he would be here in three minutes... Ah! he arrived and yelled at me in front of the whole hotel. A bit disappointed. Calzone came close to cold, I had to heat it up in the microwave. The bread they used was rubbery...not sure else how to explain it. I ordered the Cuban Panini, Greek salad with gyro meat and a baklava. The panini was somewhat edible but cold. The delivery took over an hour, ordered before 6:00 pm dinner rush. The Greek salad with gyro meat was pure rubbish! The "gyro meat" looked like beef jerky. It's not proper gyro meat cooked on a spit, instead it's crappy frozen "gyro meat" that's reheated in either a microwave or with the hot whimpers of the whining, crying new englander that clearly hates his/her life. The baclava was the size of a little Debbie snack. The meal cost me over $30 with tip. This is the kind of wretched food plaguing this region of the country. It's almost like new englanders don't have taste buds, eyeballs, or a sense of urgency about eating food. If they did then there's no way this place would still be opened. read more

I go here weekly and never have had a bad meal. The service has always been friendly and the service prompt. I was amazed that they were delivering during this storm we just had. Most restaurants will not deliver during snow storms, but Athens is always customer first. They were up front and told me that it could take awhile for the delivery, but are you kidding me??? I would wait two hours just so I wouldn't have to drive in it. As luck would have it, the food was here in 45 minutes and still hot and tasty. Stayed late tonight for work and was very hungry so I decided to order from Athens through Yelp. I had them deliver to my job since I couldn't leave to go pick it up, plus it was only a 8 min ride. The delivery was fairly quick. The only issue and complaint I have is about the driver. When I placed my order, I had wrote down to deliver to the back shipping area because I had the garage door open and I can see when he arrives. I got a call from the driver confirming that he is near by and will come to the shipping door. I waited, then he called back and asked if I am coming down to get my food. I went outside, didn't see him so I called back and asked if he is at the shipping entrance or parking lot, he said he is here down at the security office. I asked why didn't he go to shipping as I wrote down on my order. He replied back with the this is shipping. I said no, it's the security office. Long story short, I just went down to meet him and as I arrived to where he was, he yelled at me saying what took me so long and said to me that he wasn't sure if customer was coming or not. I told him I wrote down to come to the shipping area, he now said I didn't see it. At this time, I was hungry and wanted my food. Before he handed my food, he said let me show you something. He pulled up Athens website and told me to order through here, not Yelp. I asked why, he said because I don't get my tip until tomorrow. Then complain that the 25% custom tip from my 16$ order wasn't enough. Mind you, my GPS said it was only a 8 min drive. He repeatedly kept telling me next time to order directly from Athens website over and over. Overall experience, food was good but bad and worst delivery service ever. Ordered into a hotel when I was stuck in Westborough for work. Delivered in less than 40 minutes. Lasagna was great, sauce was good and it was hot and cheesy, and the portion was massive for the price (although the container was covered in grease). The cheese quesadilla was good, the chicken was extremely tender and flavorful, but it was literally just a tortilla folded in half with cheese and chicken, nothing else, which was disappointing. Delicious pizza, low prices and super friendly. My husband and I used to meet here for lunch when I worked in Westborough and he worked in Marlborough - it was a great place for us to sit and have a cheap lunch. Their small 10" pizzas are only around $5 for a single topping, so if you add a soda to that, you're well under $10 for a fantastic lunch. We just ordered some pizzas from them for an evening rehearsal with a few select chorus kids and they were proclaimed to be delicious by the hungry middle schoolers - we all know the affinity of teenagers to cheap pizza! They also very generously delivered us a bonus box of warm brownies along with the pizzas, a totally unexpected treat to follow up a tasty dinner. The BBQ chicken pizza is one of their most popular and the student who ordered that particular pizza said it was really good. Another ordered bacon on his, which came in big strips, not crumbled salad topping bits like some places use. Personally, I prefer the spinach and feta pizza so much that I haven't ordered the other ones there, though I've tried them. They also do subs and the usual pizza place fare. They don't have a website and I don't have a menu handy, but perhaps someone else on Yelp can add to this! :) read more

Yes the pizza was absolutely awesome and equally was the service from both Steve and Maria (husband and wife owners). We were in town assisting a local congregation down the street with their door to door ministry offering free bible studies to those wanting to get better acquainted with the scriptures and stopped by to pick up 4 unique and delicious pizzas before returning to our hotel. The friendliness of the owners was outstanding! They should serve as a model for all of us in how to run a business by treating customers how we would wish to be treated. Sounds like the Golden Rule to me. :) Whenever we are back in town we will absolutely stop back in for more delicious food , conversation and smiles!!! read more

I ordered from Athens Pizza one time on a lunch break and it was the most disappointing pizza experience ever. I called an order and was quoted 15 minutes, showed up more than 20 minutes later and my food wasn't ready, ok sure. I had only ordered a small cheese steak and a small cheese pizza to split with a friend should be another minute or two right?. Sitting in there waiting I noticed how dirty the place was. Cob webs, water damaged/moldy framed art, probably years of hand prints on the drink cooler doors... then I eventually get the food which took about 35+ minutes from original order while they were clearly not busy. Only one person came in and one delivery left while I was there and no one working seemed to be in any sort of rush at all. Then the food........ the small cheese steak was D R E N C H E D in mayo. Like inedibly drenched. I didn't even order mayo.. then the pizza had the most bland flavor I ever experienced.. like I'm saying this pizza made a Cumberland Farms gas station pizza look like a gourmet pie from North End. To top off the experience, 0 apologies for the more than doubled wait, and they were a little rude. You can have off days, but this didn't feel like it. Seemed like an off decade maybe. I honestly am being generous by giving this place 2 stars. I ordered from them a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and broccoli bites. The grinder was bleh- the chicken was way too salty and the bacon was flaccid. The lettuce and tomato were cut up in such a way that they were falling out of the entire thing and it just didn't taste good. The broccoli bites were bitter and there was a weird pink substance inside of them. The driver stayed on the phone with me for almost 10 minutes because he couldn't find the place, and then demanded a tip on top of the tip I had given through Yelp 24. Once we moved to Northborough about 3 years ago, I found this pizza place and we ordered 3 cheese pizzas for delivery and the service was amazing. We got the pizza in 20 minutes and it was still hot and it was delicious. However recently the service has gotten worse, but for the most part, I would definitely recommend if you want a cheap snack. read more

I have NEVER been treated so poorly! These people have no respect at all! Not only was our pizza OVER 1 Hour late and I cancelled it do to the guy lying and saying it was on its way it was forced on us(as I was in the shower after I said keep your pizza) and we were hollered at and now they were supposed to refund my money and now will not take my calls. They blocked me and hang up if I call from a different number. It was after 11 pm before delivered and other than my husband that he woke up by banging on our hotel door my fam was asleep the pizza was burned on 1 side and cold as could be. My boyfriend and I were near the area for the night and ordered a seafood salad, Super Steak sub, Chicken Stir Fry sub and bacon cheese fries. The price was over $30 ( which was highly over priced but we were hungry.) The food was cold and fries were burnt and the bacon was hardly cooked. The order was placed at 7 and I called them at 740 and he said they had just got the order that it would be 20 mins and it would be there. It ended up not coming until after 830pm. Let alone we were in the same town. The delivery driver actually asked for a tip which is ridiculous. When called and talked to a manger he just brushed it off and made it seem that the delivery driver asking for a tip was normal. read more

"Chicken is chicken and buffalo is buffalo. I am not going to send you another order." That is what I was told by the person who I believe to be the owner. I had ordered a pizza and an order of boneless wings. I did not check my order when it was delivered. I received bone-in wings. I called and explained the error. I was told by the man on the other end of the call that it didn't matter what I received or what I ordered but he was not going to correct his mistake.
