It's 7:00 Pm on a sunday night. There is only 6 people dining and at least 7 workers. Every booth was dirty and also several tables. during the entire time we were eating no one came to clean up.It is unfortunate the environment is so badly neglected because the soup and sandwiches were very good. The dirty dining room definitely took away from the experience and the desire to come back

Cup of soup missing a third from the top. Stingy, stingy, stingy. And this happens all the time at this location.

I hate giving reviews like this. But when I've written about this place for years, and they make no attempt to,read their reviews or take any of our advice to heart, you know the manager is simply stubborn and could care less what people think. It's down to his bottom dollar, nothing more. I just ordered a meal for my husband tonight. He was sick and I just got over being sick. We needed some comfort food soup salad and sandwiches, and their amazing Lemon Drop cookie which I hear is being discontinued. When the order arrived my tomato soup, which is tiny to begin with, had a solid inch of empty space at the top. This Panera is notoriously stingy. The Green Goddess salad was also not topped off. My full chicken sandwich had 2 onions on it barely any cheese, and the chicken was rubbery dry and cold. At the end of our meal, we discovered there was a pizza at the very bottom of the bag, which obviously belonged in someone else's order. Let me tell you this is not something you want to order from Panera to go. Much better when you eat it there. It's also a little too salty This Panera needs a reboot, better training, with less stingy manager.

A little more cheese please!

This Panera Bread really seems to have taken a dive since it opened. The dining area is cluttered and a bit grimey, and while the food is prepared quickly the quality is inconsistent. My sandwich had cheese on maybe a quarter of the bread, and it was melted on so it's not like it shifted when I was eating. The staff is friendly and accommodating though - even though we were there close to closing they took it in stride and without nasty glances.

The tables aren't always clean, but the food is fresh and the service friendly and attentive. The free wifi isn't a bad touch, and the atmosphere is pleasant despite the busy crowds they generally attract. We come here pretty often, and the food quality is very consistent. Great for a quick bite, a relaxed meal on the go or an impromptu but casual business meeting.

Ordered pick two blt and chedd broccoli soup I got bread this time finally but no soup but a soup spoon though

Terrible service. Terrible food. Ridiculously expensive. Just go somewhere else. There is nothing good to say about this place.

Typical panera. Not the cleanest or quickest, but certainly not the worst.

Oliver's Restaurant - Turkey BLT with fries and pickle spear

Oliver's Restaurant

"And so please help (To teach your children) Them with your…read moreyouth (What you believe in) They seek the truth Teach your children well" (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) When was the last time you ate a meal in a high school? Maybe it was at an award dinner for a high school sports team, or at a Boy or Cub Scout dinner? Or maybe it was way back in the day between your history and algebra classes? Well, we had a unique lunch at Oliver's Restaurant. Why unique? It was unique because the restaurant is located within the Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington, and it is staffed by students. You see, the school's Culinary Arts program trains their students for experience in the food service industry. It's an ambitious program that uses a public restaurant to provide 1,775 hours of learning and training in all phases of restaurant business - from the public facing front of the house to the back-of-house. If the students decide to enter the food service workforce, they leave Oliver's with a fantastic skill set. The teacher is Chef Michael McDowell, and he had a crew of 25 High School Juniors operating in two rooms preparing the salads and sandwiches, grilling the chicken and salmon and steaks, baking the meatballs, preparing the soups, slicing the complimentary bread, waiting the tables, and every possible activity they will see when the food service workforce. Chef Michael was fantastic as he oversaw the operation, offering nonstop commentary and tips to his young staff - "did you offer ketchup with those fries?", "too much oil in that pan", "check on your customers and get off your phones", "where's the dressing on the side?", "put the dressing in a takeout container for the takeout orders, and a ramekin for the diners", etc., etc. Oliver's has a real dining room with an open kitchen, so you can see and hear the entire class. There was a steady stream of takeout orders, and three parents popped in to say hi to their kids. The freshman and sophs in the Culinary Arts program start with the basics -how to sauté things, make salads, and the like. Today's class was all juniors, and that's when they actually start to operate the restaurant under the Chef's guidance. We chatted with Chef Michael, and he said that when they become Seniors, they really run Olivers by themselves. Our lunch was a $3 cup of clam chowder, a $9 turkey BLT, a $14 Salmon Caesar Salad, and a $4 Apple Crostata. The food was very good, check out the generous portion of turkey on the BLT and the half pound slab of perfectly cooked salmon on my salad. And we were amazed when Chef Michael called us at home to get our feedback on the meal and service. What a wonderful experience! We really enjoyed watching the Chef train his staff and watching them execute his instructions. I hope whoever is reading this, goes to the school and supports these young restaurant workers of the future. I know you'll enjoy this unique experience as much as we did. PRO TIP Olivers is open to the public Wednesday to Friday from 10:45 to 12:05, and they ask you to call 860-496-5369 to make a reservation.

Northwest Soup And Sandwich Company - Great sandwiches! Amazing fresh chicken salad

Great sandwiches, great soup and even better customer service!…read more We ordered online-we customized our sandwiches (the only thing I would say is that their online system could use some love, it seems a little all over the place and the customization could be a little more in depth) But despite that, we ordered sandwiches and we both ordered the loaded potato soup. We debated on tasting it when we got there and then deciding to buy it (which is actually such a great idea) But we decided that we'd just go for it and ordered the soup too. The soup was phenomenal, so flavorful and warm, it was exactly what we needed on a snowy day. Our sandwiches contained everything we had ordered and they were beautifully made, not too messy but not lacking anything either. A footlong turkey, cheese, L,T, Bacon and Mayo was around $20. My husband's roast beef footlong with L,T, mayo, pickles, peppers, and provolone was a little over $22. A little pricey but like I said before-the sandwich wasn't lacking by any means. I think the best part was walking in and every single person working greets you so warmly. They seem so thrilled to do what they do every day and that alone makes me want to come back.

I'd been meaning to try this out for the longest time having tried the owners cooking at other local spots and it was exactly what I expected. The small restaurant was like a deli with several tables inside and a lovely outdoor patio that really elevated its overall atmosphere. We placed our order at the inside counter and grabbed a table outside. Throughout our visit, we experienced extremely pleasant and gracious service from Fina and a young man, both of whom were cooking and delivering the food. Though this caused things to move on the slower side, they really had their system down to a science, managing our meals and the several takeout orders that I saw being collected. The lunch menu had various salads, sandwiches, and burgers on offer. I selected the Chicken Gyro, which used a real grilled chicken breast that had been sliced, rather than those pre-cut strips that always seem to contain fillers. The chicken was a tad dry, but the homemade tzatziki sauce, which was heavily infused with dill, helped to add moisture to the sandwich. I had opted for a whole wheat wrap, rather than a pita, and I loved that they had lightly toasted the completed dish, even with its inclusion of romaine lettuce and diced tomatoes. That method gave the wrap an improved texture and a slight crunch. I sampled a few of my companion's fries, which were thin, crispy, and had a real rustic flavor that resembled potato skins. They were great! Fina's Kitchen was a real gem, hidden among an industrial area and catering to the local businesses. It was a great find!

Just a little a this 'n that" (Pete Seeger) My final review of 2022 will describe the worst customer service we encountered all year. We had an errand to run in Sturbridge and figured we'd include a lunch stop in town. The Yelp app brought us to Soup to Nuts. #1) I love soup and #2) it's located inside the Sturbridge Marketplace, so we figured we'd do some shopping and browsing too. When we approached Soup to Nuts we saw a sign that said they opened at 11:00. The front door had another sign that said they opened at 12:00. Since the door was locked, and it was about 11:30, we figured we'd check out the Sturbridge Flea Market and come back. At 12:02 their front door was unlocked, and the sign announcing the 12:00 opening was gone. As we entered the restaurant, we were "greeted" by four words spoken (or more accurately snarled) in a very gruff and rude manner - "we're not open yet". Tone of voice matters, and I will look you straight in the eye and put my hand on a stack of bibles and tell you his tone was beligerant and angry (to the point of aggressive). It was beyond rude. It was shocking. So we turned around, left and never came back. Happy New Year ya filthy animal.

I will say that on our first visit we thought the owner was initially a bit gruff as others had mentioned but we quickly realized that's not the case and he is an incredibly gracious host. We've had both the corn chowder and sandwiches here and they are delicious! Keep in mind with some reviews that people are the problem and not the establishment.
