Food is usually good and service is usually subpar. I got my order much later than what was told, and I had my 1 1/2 yr old. I got rapid pick up and brought home a bacon turkey bravo sandwich with ONE (microwaved) slice of bacon. It's a BACON turkey bravo... shouldn't the first ingredient in the sandwich be the most? I am not sure what changed at this location but it was the worse Panera experience I have ever had. The fountains were not working, my order was wrong, the french onion soup came with nothing but a few croutons, there were no napkins, no one was cleaning the tables, the cookies we got were burnt. I mean NOTHING was worth the money we spent that day. My husband is skeptical about going to Panera but there are so many things I love there that we continue to go. I am not sure after this really bad experience if he will ever try them again. :( As for me, not sure I can give that location another chance, it was pretty sad and disappointing. :( read more

So I am an avid user of the sip club. For those of you that don't know what that is you can go to any Panera bread and get free drinks all day long as long as that two hours apart and you can get up to four drinks per day. The drinks that are allowable are hot and cold coffee and tea and anything from the fountain including energizer lemonades. The value was amazing it only $12 per month on her card you post and they save they charge you monthly like a gym membership. So at this particular location you have to swipe your card and then they will give you a cup it's very confusing and all the drinks are located way at the back of the restaurant. At most Panera's you just take a cup you go to the fountain which is located at the front of the restaurant and then you go to the counter and you give them your telephone number or you use the self check in and you can just sign in saying that you got a drink and never even speak to anybody. I had a very difficult time at this location because I did not bring my card with me and I was just giving my telephone number and I got a little bit of a hassle as if they didn't believe I parked my car got out of my car went in and I try to get a free coffee. I was a little bit put aside by the manager eventually I got my coffee but I wasn't happy about the procedure. As at all the Panera bread's all the items on the menu basically taste the same so I do enjoy anything in the bread bowls I also enjoy all the breads especially the tomato basil which is fantastic I highly suggest that you get it sliced. My recommendation is 100% request for thick slicing the bread is delicious. As with all the other Panera bread's the food is always the same so I give it tops because I enjoy all their salads breads and soups. The parking is plentiful since it's in a strip mall. I only had an issue with the management, the young lady that originally help me tried her best and was very sweet. I did not catch the managers name but I think he could've been a bit more polite and accommodating to a customer it's not like I was there to steal a gold bar I was getting an iced coffee. I don't think it should be that hard to get a cup when you're part of the sip program and no other location ever asks me for my card I always give my phone number so I'm a little down on this location but as far as Panera bread's go I like all of them. read more

Wanted to go to Marshall's Homegoods but arrived before they opened so decided to come here to get a quick bite. First time being in or ordering from a Panera Bread. Heard they were overpriced but damn, half of a small sandwich cost 8.55$. Can get a full sized sandwich at any other place that's also 4x the size. Only thing on the menu I saw was the Roast Turkey and Avacado BLT. It said something around 6ish, with tax i would assume no more than low 7s. What i got was a turkey sandwich with no avocado, receipt said "Bacon Turkey Bravo Sandwich "? So no avocado and the price is even more than the sandwich with avocado? Somethings not right. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was because I said screw it and ended up eating the sandwich anyways and it was pretty good, just frustratingly tiny. Barely any meat in it. Honestly the most disgusting sandwich I have ever seen in my life I have attached a picture. I called in for a phone order of a you pick two, half was a broccoli cheddar soup and half of it was supposed to be a chicken frontega Panini with no mozzarella cheese. Extremely simple request just no mozzarella cheese. When I arrived at home to open up my sandwich it looked absolutely disgusting. I would not even know what to call this. The cheese doesn't even look like cheese which there wasn't even supposed to be any on it, no tomato no onion the chicken looks extremely under cooked and still raw and presentation and everything about it just looks disgusting. On 11/19/2016 I went to this Panera with my husband for dinner. After a few bites of my mac and cheese I noticed I was biting on plastic. PLASTIC! Yes, there was a piece of plastic in my food. God forbid that this didn't happen to a child and they choked. My husband went up to speak to the manager and all he got was an excuse for it. Yes she apologized but it was quickly followed by letting us know that its from when they cut open the mac and cheese. No I'm so sorry that never happens, or refund on the meal or any empathy at all. This is completely unacceptable and I understand that mistakes happen but how this manager treated the situation was pitiful. This is the worst Panera location by far... and I love Panera's food, but their management/system/what not has been off-game for about a decade. Every time I order something is missing or wrong. And I am ordering for a family of 4, no replacements/substitutions, not a huge catering event-- pretty simple stuff. every time I go into the saugus store they tend to screw up my order. when I order a roasted turkey and avocado blt they forget to add the bacon or if I order it without bacon they add bacon. that's why I never order anything for myself there. Went to this location with a friend who lives here (I'm from NJ) - was shocked to see about 25 fruit flies all over the back of the booth we sat at....we didn't notice them at first and then I kept seeing flies in my food. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I complained to the "manager", she asked me what I would like her to do about it...she said she knows there are flies and they will take care of it tomorrow. How about closing off that room with the flies? How about apologizing and not copping an attitude with me? How about paying for the food I couldn't eat and paid for? This was a pretty terrible experience at Panera. I came here yesterday at an extremely busy and chaotic time. The line was very long and it seemed like some employees were picking up the pace to take care of customers, while others were snickering and commenting about how busy it was and how long people were waiting. Really?!? My order was very simple, yet I did not receive my drink without asking two people for it. I was then just told to "go get it at the front" since it was a bottle of water. Again, I ask, really?!? How about " I apologize for the inconvenience-I will get that water for you. Thank you for your patience." Customer service 101. The guy behind the counter was callous and spoke at a ridiculously fast pace (with an accent). And then had the nerve to look at me funny when I asked him to please repeat himself. Seriously? Writing this review solely to recognize the awesome manager who works here. This guy embodies customer service. Every time I come in I am impressed with how he does his job: He is efficient and does everything with a smile. He's always joking with guests and doing what he can to make their experience great. Food is pretty standard for a Panera. However, 4 stars because they always seem to be out of certain bagels (cough Asiago cheese cough). Your standard Panera Bread. We all know how good the food is, so I'll focus on the restaurant itself. Great staff, always attentive and seemingly happy to serve. Food comes as quick as they possibly can, and is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The downside to this location is that it is located in a massively busy shopping center, and also is directly across from a Target and Shaws. People tend to go for lunch at Panera, and then do their errands across the street. On weekends, it can be impossible to find a seat. As I've stated in other reviews, the people of Saugus/Revere/Malden are all rather large and looooove to eat. Panera is a chance for them to think that they are eating "healthy," so they flock to this location on the weekends. Pick your meal time carefully and you'll have a great experience. Otherwise, be prepared to wait to place your order, and be prepared to hunt for a table. read more

I love this Panera and come here for lunch often. I almost always get the You Pick Two combo, usually with a sandwich and cup of soup. For soups, I like the cheddar broccoli soup, the chicken noodle, and also the vegetable with pesto. For sandwiches, I always get turkey. And the Mac and Chesse... Is delicious. Normally this is a pretty mundane experience - get your food, eat, leave, etc. However this time I came in and a manager handled my order. He asked me if I was in the service, and I answered yes (he said he could tell). Without any fanfare or any other guests hearing, he quietly paid for my entire order. This chain has never been big on my radar. Since my car was in the shop I was pretty much a captive on this trip. This location was bustling with the lunch crowd. The menu was a bit hard decipher since the items where all over the board. The staff was friendly and helpful. I went with the Pick-Two option: Mac & Cheese and Ham/Swiss sandwich. Somehow I was charged more for the Mac & Cheese option. The MC was unremarkable but the sandwich was small but tasty. The whole-grain bread was great. I go to Panera often. This morning, during the 3rd nor'easter, to hit Boston in two weeks, I learned my meeting was canceled so I went to Panera for coffee. Upon purusing the menu I noticed they've come out with a new breakfast called "bacon, egg and cheese on a Brioche bun. IIMHO Amazing. The egg is a little runny , which I love , the cheese is sharp cheddar, I think, and the brioche bun soft and heated. The perfect combination. I'll keep coming back even when it's not a nor'eastet. This is a very busy Panera location. I've been to a few of them, usually dragged by the wife. This time I was in my Sunday-AM-denial-of-hunger-pangs before getting onto RT1 stupidity. Because I refuse to go to the Starbucks in the next strip mall down, even though my destination is Artist & Craftmans I stopped here needed a munch upon and a coffee. I snagged a asiago bagel breakfast sandwich. It features cheese, egg and not crispy bacon on a asiago bagel stuck into a panini press. The bacon is thin sliced and not crispy but tasty. It's served up wicked hot. As far as fast food goes it was pretty good. The coffee here is one step up from... Chock-full-o-nuts and to me it's served as an after thought because they have to have coffee. Skip the plain coffee and get a juice or something. Customer service was excellent. The ambiance here is loud. There were a ton of people filling the eating areas. There is free wifi. I would go back if I were in the area and needed a quick fix before going further down RT1S. read more

Never had a problem until today when making an online order. Place my order 10mins to 7. Phone say it was ready around 7:10. I got there at 7:24. Looked at the pick up shelves, nothing. I waited 10mins then decided to ask the cashier and barista. Ask for my name 2x and spelled my last name also. First, the barista mention maybe I got the wrong location?? Really! I showed my phone and the order number. Then he say it's a alittle backed up. I can understand that cause there's only 3 chefs. After 45mins wait. A lot of customers that came in after me picked up their things and left while me 50mins after. The cashier decided to let me know that my name was left behind!? Behind where? So I waited another 10mins. If it was done right the first time around. It only take less than 10mins to make a sandwich. With my guess. Someone's probably pick up my order by mistake and left then after they took my name off the list. The barista apologized and handed me my smoothie. He see's me not lookin to good and offered me a free drink? I decline the offer. At this point, I should be offered my money back and a free meal!
