This place is filthy, management is a joke. The manager was a young-ish man who continued to scream loudly and complain about his job to multiple customers, complaining his store was dirty and even made it known they did not have more than 60 dollars in their register. The mac and cheese sucked which makes no sense given you can literally buy the exact kind at a grocery store for higher quality. Food, atmosphere, and employees are not worth any of your time. This ruins panera's reputation, I personally will not be back. read more

We ordered catering through Alice, and she was great! Super friendly and helpful and the food was perfect.

The district manager is unprofessional and doesn't understand how to follow through. I had placed a $200 catering over the internet the night before- to be picked up at a certain time the next day for an important business meeting. I arrive 10mins early to pick up my order and was told they don't take catering orders at that location. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I was then told to go to the next nearest location that they had taken my order....this location is 27mins away! Needless to say I was extremely late to my business meeting because of all the inconvenience and LACK of communication on Panera! To make matters worse I put in a complaint to corporate and they had the district manager email me...he asked for my number which I gave him...and surprise...he never called me. I had emailed him several times after and never received a response! I used to buy my corporate lunches from Panera Bread but have since stopped because of the stress and unprofessionalism they have cost me that one time! I can't risk that happening again! Extremely disappointed with your steak and cheddar sandwich. The bread was good but had hardly any meat. I was with one other person and we really should have returned them it was that bad. Due to travel - had to spend several hours at this Panera from late morning thru the lunch & beyond. I found it unbelievably noisy - and all from the staff - lots of yelling & screaming "runner", etc. and raucous laughing, personal conversations, and carrying on from the staff. For anyone trying to have a nice lunch with some conversation with a friend - this is a tough sell. Long long lines when ordering - something is wrong with the system. Witness the manager being rude to staff and patrons. WiFi was obviously overloaded - lots of buffering and slow. read more

PRETTY GOOD FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE. I like Panera food as a quick go-to lunch or for morning coffee. The location on Rt44 in Poughkeepsie is well-managed and the staff members are friendly; I never have a problem there. HOWEVER, this location is a different story. Nearly every time I come here, some part of my order gets screwed up. Usually, it is because the person taking the order isn't paying attention. Even the simple things are starting to bother me now. For example, today I requested "coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese--NO KNIFE (I don't like using disposable plastic)--FOR HERE". The person taking my order pointed to my travel mug and told me that I can just take a refill. I explained that I had just walked in, and hadn't paid for a coffee at all today. I was one of only two customers in the place. Then she asked me if I wanted my order to go. She handed me a tray with a bagel, cream cheese, and a knife. This is just one of numerous examples of erroneous orders that I have received from this location. I will be sticking to Rt44 or the Fishkill Panera stores. read more

When the nearby Olive Garden told us there would be a 30-minute wait, we decided to eat here. The result: Quick, tasty and less expensive than OG would have been. The broccoli cheese and black bean soups were very good. My roast beef sandwich could not have been better! Fresh lemonade was great. This location seems to attract a wide cross-section of area residents, students, and, like us, visitors to the area. All seem satisfied. read more

Everything is decent at this Panera. It has a great location, close to the mall and other route 9 attractions. The age of the restaurant is starting to show, and it could use a bit of a face lift on the inside. It also can get very busy and dirty during the lunch shift. I went here yesterday, the day before Labor Day so it closed early. This would have been fine had they not been out of quite a few things when there was still and hour and a half before they closed. They had no bread, no summer corn chowder, no lobster rolls, and no iced tea. I understand it was the end of the day before a holiday but you shouldn't be out of so many staples when you're still opened for over an hour during dinner time (it was about 6:30). The biggest issue I have it that they sold my friend a drink to get iced tea and when she went to fill her cup, all of the carafes were empty and she wasn't told that prior to purchasing her drink. Additionally, the manager was well aware of all of this as he was calling out to his employees what they were out of as customers were ordering. When we asked the girl who prepared our food about the iced tea, she responded with "we can probably brew you some but it's going to take at least 10 minutes" and when we asked about getting iced green tea instead she told us to ask someone else. I absolutely love this restaurant! With its comfy decor and real plates and silverware, it feels very homey and the food is delicious. When I went there most recently, I ordered a strawberry smoothie and a Greek salad. I'm celiac, so I'm very sensitive to contamination, but there were no issues with my food at all, unlike at other restaurants. The food was delivered to my table very quickly, and although the servers did take my plate when I was done, I didn't feel like they were rushing me at all. Overall, the food tasted great and feels really healthy. I have no complaints, this is an awesome place to get a bite to eat! read more

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to Panera off Route 44 in Poughkeepsie. They were out of soup bread bowls, so the employee kindly offered to sell us a loaf of bread, cut it in half, cut out the centers and make bread bowls that way. She very nicely accommodated her customers. This evening, we went to the Panera in Poughkeepsie across from the mall. They were out of bread bowls. We politely asked if they'd sell us a loaf of sourdough bread (there were TWO sitting on the rack in front of our faces) and cut it in half. The employee asked the manager who, in a very rude tone and unpleasant manner said, "No. Absolutely not. It's not possible. We can't do that." I'm not sure what culinary school he went to where he was not taught how to use a bread knife to slice a loaf of bread in half, but I worry for his progeny. Now, if it's against their policy to slice bread (not sure what is so wrong with slicing bread, considering I've been to other Paneras in the area where the employees are fully trained in the use of cutlery) then there is certainly a way to politely advise your customer that it is against store policy. The correct way to handle the situation would have been to simply say he can sell us two bowls of soup and a loaf of bread and we can make the bowls ourselves at home, which we would have done because with our collective brain cells my boyfriend and I are capable of figuring out how to slice a loaf of bread in half, gouge out the centers and pour in the soup. Instead we left hungry, drove to the Fishkill Panera, had very pleasant service and a delicious meal. read more

It seems that every time I eat at a Panera the portions get smaller and smaller. This specific location has constantly served me with dirty dishes and utensils it's absolutely disgusting. As much as I love their BBQ chicken salad and mac and cheese I no longer go back. read more

Upscale fast food. Sandwiches are okay, but not as good a local deli. French Onion soup is definitely out of a can. No hearty onions. Seems like freeze dried onions. Recently I had a wonderful experience at my local Panera bread in Poughkeepsie. The cashier Victoria was very tentative to my order in that when I was not sure what to get she offered me helpful hints by telling me what makes each dish unique. I ended up getting a you-pick-two dish with the tortellini and a half steak sandwich upon her recommendation. This was one of the best tortellini I have ever had! Also the sandwich was delicious! Overall I had a very pleasant visit and am happy I chose Panera. read more
