Spent nearly 25 minutes land locked in the drive thru. You get better service at McDonalds. Went inside, apparently busing tables, taking out the trash, wiping tables, and sweeping the floor is not an expectation of the workers there. Placed my order online for drive-through pick up, as I was on the road through the area here yet ordered the turkey avocado BLT sandwich and substituted the bread for the cranberry walnut. Seems to be getting better! Their iced coffee is hit or miss at this location. Initially upon ordering one they handed me a watered down light brown colored coffee. Coffee is supposed to be black! But, this was quickly switched out for a new one and it came out great. Returned the next day and the iced coffee was black, as it should be. read more

This place is okay, it has a drive-thru. Despite everything saying they close at 9 pm, the drive-thru is always closed at 8 pm. Not a fan of the type of buzzers they use for food calls, they rarely work and then don't care of your food is cold despite it being their fault. First, a stop in the bathroom and they're out of hand soap. Then we try to order a bread bowl and they're out of that, too. Our food was all served with plastic ware and my friend's broccoli cheddar soup was cold. They showed her where the microwave in the dining room was, since they can't take food back. No apologies were given. I've been to worse restaurants, and besides the cold soup, the food was okay. They also gave decent portions of the baguette, so that's a positive. Easily the worst experience I've ever had at a Panera bread. It started off with a noticeably frustrated employee sharing a considerable list of ingredients they no longer had, which funny enough included every single bread except for one. I say this is funny because it's called Panera bread. After getting to the window and getting our food handed to us and being told "have a nice day" we went to check what was in the bag before we left the parking lot and discovered they never gave us our drink we ordered. We kindly went back inside and waited for them at the counter to acknowledge us, after a few minutes of waiting, they did, and Before we could finish what we were looking for they turned around and got the drink and then proceeded to make fun of us. One of them joked and said "what! Did you think we were going to put it in the bag!?" It seems that nearly every every restaurant in this area has incredibly poor service. Although they were very busy, they had our pick up order ready VERY promptly for a large order. They had a little bit of a mix up with being out of everything bagels when we had ordered one, but we received another bagel instead, the people who were in charge and staff alike were VERY kind and helpful. The first few times I came here, food and service was ok, not great but not bad. I came here yesterday for a smoothie and the woman working in the drive through was very friendly and happy, I even told her she's one of the nicest people that work in a drive through that I've encountered!! Wow guess I spoke too soon. Came in today for the same smoothie, and was given a completely melted, 3/4 full drink. The person working in the drive through this time was not very friendly. I ordered just a drink and she shouted "that's all??" through the speaker. When she gave me my drink she again yelled my total while opening the window and didn't say anything else. Like wtf? Worst. Panera. Ever. Every time we order something from this particular store they ALWAYS mess it up. The last time we went I ordered via drive-thru and our entire order was wrong, I had to go back to exchange it only to find out that they were out of most things. Today they forgot the eggs in my Cobb salad (might as well just give me a regular green salad) and gave me a four cheese grilled cheese with bacon but without the bacon (that, of curse, was extra and I paid for). This place is not cheap and this sort of thing should NOT happen constantly, and God forbid you approach them to rectify it because you get the worst kind of attitude from their workers. It really is a shame. Panera is one of my favorite places to eat. As a chain place, the only things that are going to differentiate one Panera from another are service and cleanliness. While the cleanliness seemed fine, the service was quite poor, and it was evident that the place needs a grown-up manager there at all times. Our cashier rang up our food while reading some sort of SAT prep book. Yes, she was holding her book in one hand and glancing at it at the same time she was helping us. She seemed nice, though. Our food, at a non-busy time, took way too long to come out. As I hovered around waiting for my food, I observed a male teenager putting together meals with a bad attitude, openly complaining in front of customers, like he'd rather be anywhere else than here. What appeared to be a young, perhaps college-age female manager told him something wasn't done right, and the male teen whined, "Yes it is" before the manager told him, "No it's not" and pointedly told him why. When my food finally came out, a third youngster called my number. I thanked him, and he said nothing back, only turning away. read more

I went to this Panera for a quick bite for dinner since it was within walking distance of our hotel. When I ordered a turkey deli sandwich, I was surprised they were out of most types of bread! (That is like a Kentucky Fried Chicken or a Popeyes being out of chicken!) I took one of the few breads they had left, which fortunately was a delicious Ciabatta bread. We had to get the same bread for the side since they were also out of French Baguettes. We were there at 9 am this morning and we were the only ones there The bagels were so under cooked, they had to cut them by hand The tables and floor was filthy. We asked for a manager and she had an excuse for everything. She had a royal attitude not seeing the problem. The problem is the place is filthy and you had to clean the table before you could sit down. The whole floor looks like it has not been sweep up in weeks in including under the ice tea dispenser. This location hired a bunch of young people and all I heard while eating is the staff (teenagers) joking around in the back. The food was cold and didn't taste as fresh as other locations. I can't believe that this location is still open. The place is filthy, but they still manage to get a A from the health department. We were there this past Sunday about 9 am and were the only people there. Most of the tables were very dirty as were the floor around them. There were six employees behind the counter doing absolutely nothing, but no one including the manager on duty had the sense to keep the place clean. The bagels looked half raw. The worst thing that morning was they did not have any milk for the coffee. How can they run out of milk? There is a Walmart a minute away. Instead of sounding like complete morons saying that there is no milk, go get a bottle. Do you have no inventory control? Or don't you care. There was no apology, only "we ran out of milk". We dined in around 8:00 pm at the Pooler, GA location. The food was great as usual and I would rate that five stars. My complaint is about the associates. During our entire visit they were loudly playing around, joking with each other and goofing off. We could hear everything they were saying without a problem. None of what we heard was about business. My husband and I stopped here on our way home to FL. We both ordered a pick two. They were both like nothing I have ever seen at any other Panera we have ever been to. Mine was some kind of weird chucks of meat when it has always been sliced turkey. His was the steak and white cheddar panini. The first time it came out he opened the sandwich and it had one tiny slice of steak on it not even covering 1/4 of the bread. We complained. They made a new one. So as I'm reading the already written reviews a common theme is trending. The lack of good customer service. Which is what I also encountered at this location. It's Panera, I don't expect red carpet dining, or 3 course meal pairings. I just want my sandwich, and some good pastries, with some soup or salad to go. Sometimes the simplest request are the most difficult to achieve at certain establishments. I ordered the Napa Almond Chicken Salad sandwich, with chips and, Green Tea drink to go. I should have known something was awry when the pastry displays were basically empty or only had the least popular offerings shown. Excellent crew working here! I stopped with my family late on a Friday and the food was hot and served quickly. My salad had bacon and I asked them to redo it without bacon and they happily obliged. Totally hit and miss here. The drive through has frequently given me wrong orders, once I emailed in afterwards and they sent me a certificate for my next visit. We come here because there isn't many "healthy food" options in Pooler but I'd probably go elsewhere if there was another option. The people are always friendly and do fix mistakes if it happens. Worst Panera I've never been to. Firstly the girl taking orders in the drive thru was snappy and obviously didn't want to be there. I don't know if it was the same girl at the window, but she was also snappy and was trying to rush us out even though we were the only people in drive thru. That wasn't the worst though, the food was AWFUL. I ordered the tomato and mozzarella flatbread, but there was only tomato when I got it. Not only that, but whatever they use to season the tomatoes with was so strong that it had a metallic taste too it. It also smelt awful, we had to throw it out. Was extremely disappointed as I've had this same sandwich at other Panera's and have never had this happen. The Mac n' cheese my husband ordered was also disgusting, couldn't even eat it. read more

Went for breakfast and the kid at the counter seemed to either be new or still waking up. Wanted to try one of the new wraps and got the Chipotle Chicken Avocado, but asked for added bacon and no avocado and a coffee. The kid forgot to give me my cup (had to remind him), then asked for my name and gave me a buzzer. Went to get coffee and the hazelnut was out, the kid took my cup and filled it with the drive thru one, but coffee was spilled all over the cup. I waited ten minutes with no name called and no buzz (and i was the only customer that ordered in that time), so I went to the counter and found my wrap sitting there. They easily had 10 people working back there and were just messing around, my wrap was barely warm, and it didn't have chicken. The wrap wasn't well made at all so I ate about half then decided to leave. Went to throw the food out but apparently I was at the wrong trash and was yelled at twice: "not there! put it over there sir!" Again, a ton of people working and apparently all too lazy to do their jobs by making the wrap correctly, make coffee, call a name or enter a buzzer number, or pick up a tray 5 feet from where it's "supposed" to be. I am a frequent customer here on my lunch work breaks, I usually get the same order and most of the girls up here know me. It's always a pretty quick and efficient experience (given lunch can sometimes be a little hectic, but that's anywhere you go)! I recommend Panera to anyone looking for a better lunch option than some of the other "fast food" around. It's healthier, full of options, and I always leave feeling more satisfied with the experience! read more
