I'm glad Panera is now in Pooler - and this one is big, nice, and in a great location. They keep it pretty cold, so bring a sweater! The team here is quite attentive, so service is rather quick, even when they're busy. The food has always been good, the wifi is free and a good speed, and nobody hassles you for taking your time and enjoying the opportunity to relax in a good environment. This Panera location has really great table locators, so you don't have to wait to hear your name called over the loud crowds at lunchtime - they'll bring the food right to your table. There's a lot to like about Panera's food selections - and of course their pastries are always dangerous to the waist-line! I recommend the turkey-bacon sandwich and their lemonade to drink. Breakfast here is good also - try a breakfast sandwich and a pastry. I hope in time the cashiers will be a bit more educated on what goes on all the sandwiches. I like to try new things, so I ask a lot of questions to make sure my sandwich isn't loaded with a bunch of nastiness. They generally have an idea of things, but several times haven't been entirely clear of all that comes on a particular order. I'm expecting that with time this will improve, so it's not a big deal. And it's not Panera's fault, however it's their burden - the parking/traffic around here, particularly at lunchtime, is horrific. The parking lot lanes are a bit narrow and there are a lot of cars going through here, so take your time and go slow - there will be an accident sooner than later, unfortunately. Don't go through the drive thru. Took me 25 minutes with only 3 cars ahead of me. It would have been faster to do a rapid order and pick it up. Takes five minutes just to get to take each customers order and then they have to wait another five at the window before someone comes to get their money to get the food. Ridiculous. read more

Very unusual Panera BUT - pretty bad!! Stopped here for lunch on the way home from "Up North". Sandwiches and soups were just ok. This is the first Panera I have seen with a drive-thru. Eh- ok if you like the Mickie D approach. Also the first Panera where your order was brought to your table - a very nice touch, but not enough. The service people, prepping your food were yelling and screaming throughout our lunch. Very loud and very obnoxious. Another Mickie D concept and it turned us off as well as most people around us. Then, we got to our pastries - you know, the 99 cent add-on. Well, the cinnamon roll was overdone and dry - horrible. I brought it back for another and they were all the same. I exchanged for Bear Claw and that too was overdone and dry. In fact, most of the parties looked overdone!! Pretty bad for a bakery!! Definitely not worth the stop. read more

I hadn't been to this location and was excited to get some good food and some get some work done. I couldn't leave fast enough! Panera has made some changes nationally to remove preservatives and additives from their foods. In theory this sounds great. Who wants fake stuff in their food? Giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, hopefully the kinks will get ironed out in the coming months. However, today, I couldn't finish my food. The new garden veggie soup recipe tasted like a couple of canned vegetables poured together. And the produce in the salad was wilted. This used to be one of my favorite places in college. The food at this Panera (breakfast) was good. Other than that the cashiers were a disaster. The boy got my order wrong so I had to go back to place another order which took longer than the first. All total I waited 27 minutes to put my orders in and get my food. The atmosphere was chaotic with unruly children running around. The cashier was VERY slow and never repeated my order to verify that it was correct. It seemed like the least experienced employees were on shift at the busiest time. I will NEVER return. read more

Love this Panera, I have wanted a Panera in Pooler since I moved here 6 years ago and this new location did not disappoint, they have very nice and helpful I have come to this Panera several times and have no complains, I enjoy the fact that their new system allows then to find your table and bring your food out to you. First time visiting this Panera Bread & it will be my last! I get all the way home to discover the sandwich I ordered wasn't in my bag. I called them & the employee that answered knew exactly what sandwich it was. She told me that if I came back, which I had no choice as this was dinner for my husband, that she would fix a whole sandwich & throw in a pastry. I went all the way back, the same employee Maggie that didn't make sure my order was correct the 1st time gave me the sandwich with no apology & there was no pastry. This Panera has the worst service EVER!!! I have been through the drive thru 3 times and I have waited over 20 minutes each time. There were not that many people in line. I just waited 45 minutes for a cup of soup and a sandwich in the store. At 3 o'clock.... also my chicken chipotle sandwich and soup were cold. I will not be coming back. Haven't been to Panera in years and my husband keeps telling me to try it. Came in for a grilled cheese and cup of soup. I suppose I've been spoiled by the Panera breads in raleigh. This one doesn't have self serve kiosks. This one doesn't accept discover. This one doesn't have the updated pagers so they vibrate and you have to walk over and pick up your food. I'm so used to having the people bring it to me. I went here for lunch with no real expectations other than a good fresh lunch in a clean environment. The experience got off to a bad start when the girl taking our order had to start over again three times because she was having trouble putting in our very simple order. Then the orders came out on four plates and only one set of utensils. No big deal right? I went to the counter and asked for additional utensils only to have the person working there keep arguing with me and saying they were on the plates. No...they weren't. And why argue with a customer over plastic utensils anyway? Finally, after sitting down I started noticing how filthy the windows are, missing light fixtures, dirty and damaged furniture etc. Basically a negative experience from start to finish. I usually only post when I want to give a positive review. However, this is worth the negative review because I would want to know before I went and spent an enormous amount of money for sandwiches and salads for my family and received this bad of a meal in return. I fed my family garbage tonight for over $40.00. Not the healthy meal I was expecting. Actually, most of the meal is still sitting on the dining room table as I write this review. I understand everyone's taste buds are different and we all have different opinions on what we think is acceptable service and edible food. Some people are just hard to please no matter what you do to accommodate. Which is why I choose to keep my reviews positive. Not the case here. The drive thru cashier didn't get the order correct. The salads were awful and were all lettuce not much of the other items the menu claimed it would have. Not to mention it has left a taste in our mouths like the lettuce was not washed. The sandwiches were not only extremely expensive for what they give you, they were hard and flavorless. The italian sandwich was a joke. Although I liked the flavor of the spread, the sandwich literally had two small pieces of meat, cheese slice that didn't fit bread and one small sprig of arugula. ONE!! The other sandwich had avacodo in it and we chose not to even eat it due to it being blackened and slimy all the way thru and hard as a rock. The tea was so strong it had slushy sedementment in the bottom. It too is not being drank. I guess the only thing not wasted was the chips. They rock!! So a wasted $40 I have ate at many Panera Bread chains and this is not up to there standards. I only gave you one star because I had to in order to post a review. Upset that I wasted my money. Terrible service. I've ordered rapid pick up multiple times, and they have NEVER put the order where the rapid pickup station is. I have always had to go to the pickup station and either ask for my order or it's sitting there. Not that hard to put it where it's suppose to go. Again today, I ordered a steak and egg sandwich, only to be given a bacon and egg sandwich with no cheese and on a different bread than what I had asked for. There's no doubt that Panera can put out a good product however that is solely dependent on the the staff that prepares it. In this case the Pooler store has demonstrated a consistency to forget how to make things. This has got to be the fifth time I've returned as to either a missed item or a missing addition to a sandwich that I payed for. Nobody likes to Drive back from home because the most essential component in an Turkey and avocado BLT is missing, that being the bacon. How does a staff that looks like they know what they're doing operate the way they do. I even asked if there was someone who had something against me and they said no but still five different times.... come on now. Ultimately the management and staff have to remember that it's not how fast you put out items it's whether or not these items are correct. It's quality over quantity and the sooner they remember that the better off they will be. Remember the "good things comes to he or she who wait" and if getting an order right supersedes speed Then so be it as that's the way it should be. read more

Based on most of our other Panera's experiences, we stopped in here for a quick and tasty dinner. The cashier took our order and money. That part went fine. After waiting so long we thought we might have missed the food, we went up and waited by the counter some more. One of three meals came out. We watched the people that had ordered before us get angry at how long it was taking. Then after another 10-15 minutes our other meals came. They said that they were running out of bread. Folks, its in the name of the store, Panera _Bread_. So I had a side apple (actually fine with me) but my sandwich was pathetic. They screwed up another one of our orders, apparently somehow mis-communicating "barbecue mac and cheese" (which is on their menu) into "bread bowl mac and cheese" (which is not). Since they had run out of bread of course, we just got plain mac and cheese. By now the family that had ordered before us was outside throwing the parts of their orders that were wrong onto the parking lot. I don't even know where to start. First off, I Went to place my order and I asked if they could give me a description of what was in the corn chowder soup. The two girls shrugged her shoulders and said they didn't know. I asked if they could tell me at least if it was a cream-based soup or broth-based. They still had no idea and didn't even bother to ask somebody. I finally saw another lady walked by and I stopped her and asked and she was able to tell me. Why have the first point of contact for the customer not know what is in your items. After placing my order I went to use the restroom to only realize that the trash was overflowing and there was toilet paper all over the floor. I sat at the table and waited for my food to be called. When my name was called, I went up to grab my food. I noticed that one of the Mac and cheese bowls was dirty around the edge from some previous left over food stuck. Clearly not the Mac and cheese. So I asked the lady if I could get a new one because the bowl had dirt tern food. She proceeded to take her fingers and a scrape it into a different bowl. Y'all I couldn't believe my eyes. Did she not understand that she was scraping my food with dirty hands, across the dirty bowl? Nasty! I asked for a new one. This location sucks!!! Drive threw Cashier Madison, gave me the wrong receipt and told me to call the number at the bottom of it to redeem my rewards. There was no redeeming number at the bottom, nor did it have my 22 customer #, that is suppose to be entered online in order to get points. I would give zero stars if I could. A few months ago I came through and ordered a frontega chicken sandwich and a green goddess salad. The sandwich did not have basil on it, no one told me they were out of basil, and when I came back in to request that it be remade they refused to help me. I took my sandwich out of my bag and set it on the counter for the young girl (associate 1) to look at it and see what my sandwich looks like. She caught an attitude & turned around and walked off, leaving me there for almost 5 minutes until a manager walked up and asked if I was being helped and I said no. Another girl came through (associate 2), saw me standing there and asked what was going on and I told her I think someone's helping me but I'm not sure. I wanted my sandwich remade because it was missing some things and was just clumped together in one corner. Associate 1 looked at her and said "I'm not helping her, I refuse" and turned around and walked off. The other girl came back and told me she would help me. I called customer service and complained about how awful the attitudes were in this location. I was told somebody would call me back in 2 to 3 business days and no one ever called me. Obviously they do not care about their customers. I came in again today, ordered the same sandwich and my sandwich looked about the same way it did the last time I came in. There was minimal onion, no basil and it was all clumped together in the middle and the bread was barely toasted. There were no napkins in the bag either. This will be my last visit. read more

Very poor customer service. I took my family here for lunch while traveling through GA and our order was over $100.00 A rather large expense. We had our lunch at the location outside and when we took our bag outside and sorted everything, we were missing a sandwich, a turkey chilli and bread. My daughter took the ticket inside and spoke to the ASM Omar about the missing items, This POS proceeds to ask her if she is sure cause he put them in the bag. She told him yes and he wsa welcome to come check the bag if he wished. He did not and told her he would send someone out with the items. She came out to me and told me his comments so I waited a few mins for the items. Actually had time to eat half my sandwich and with the items not our yet, I went inside for them, He was just handing them to someone to take out. IMO this order should have been immediate but I digress. So I take the item and ask him why he felt we would spend that much n this store and try to get a sandwich for free. He said he did not say she was wrong, just asked if she was sure, I said that is exactly saying she was lying. If she was not sure, she would not be in there. I told him I think he owed her an apology and he said no. I again said it and he said tell her to come in and maybe I will. I called him a name and walked off. He never came out to see if it was ok, ask or apologize. So thanks Panera, hope you enjoyed that last $100 you will see from about 10 people. read more

This place is always absolutely FILTHY! I go into this particular store on a semi-regular basis because it offers what I want but the cleanliness is disturbing.
