Recently my family and I decided to visit Panera Bread. I hadn't been there in a while. I walked up and the young lady at the register didn't smile or greet me she literally just stood there and looked at me. So I simply greeted her by smiling and saying hello. She did say hi back but to be fair she did ask for my phone number and said that I had 10.00 to go towards my order. That was fantastic so I said to myself maybe she's having an off night. Now, one of my neices had a bad experience here in the past so she ordered somewhere else near by. But my last visit a while ago was great so I still wanted to grab something since we were there already. Now we're waiting for our food. It was a young man there calling names as the food was ready but he had to take a break. My other niece got her food and left. Now It's going on 20 minutes and we're still waiting so the woman making the food put a bag on the counter not saying a word. So about 3 minutes later I decided to check the name on the bag and it was our food. She still never said anything she just watched me take the bag. I'm writing because maybe this crew should revisit the proper customer service procedures. It just made me feel very unwelcome. read more

This review is for their dining area and their service. This place needs big time refurbishment in terms of their dining area. Back when I lived in Hercules, sometimes we would go here for dinner and some tables would be not clean at all. And then, there was a time from a year I don't recall when I went to get dinner here with my parents, and the pastries and bagels were cleared out, meaning they were all out. When we tried to order our food, an employee said almost everything on the menu was sold out, save two different soups and macaroni and cheese. So when we ordered, we just got two broccoli cheddar soups for my sisters cause everything else was gone. And to make matters worse, I remember it was only 7 pm and not even close to closing time. Suggestion: Next time you run out of sandwiches, soups, pastries, etc., put a sign. read more

I ordered online a macaroni& broccoli soup and a salad. I hurt my foot so I couldn't walk in. It came up that the food was read let them know what parking spot I was in. I was so excited it was ready quickly bc I needed to get to work. I hit the 1 spot several times! No one came out! I called no one answered. I was getting a bit nervous I needed to get to work. My foots throbbing come on answer bring my food out please! I finally went in after 15 min. The 1 star is bc she was so nice. She quickly asked was I ok. She went and looked for the food. She found my bag and smoothie. I asked why wasn't the food brought out. The other lady with the food said! OH MAYBE BC UTS RAINING. Wait what! I get to my car I began to leave! No! I appreciate that they have enhanced the menu to add family meals, similar to Habit and others. But at least the choice I made was rather underwhelming. It included a small turkey ham chipotle (sort of) sandwich in focaccia bread, a turkey bacon bravo sandwich (no idea where the bravo came from as it was sliced bread, cold bacon and turkey ham wit small piece of lettuce and cheese) it was cold and not much flavor at all As for the kids sandwiches they were 2 turkey ham and cheese on sliced bread. The only highlight was a full baguette r and do so Mac and cheese. Almost forgot it had a small salad (lettuce and dressing) So yeah, it had volume but sandwiches you could make at home for less than 10 bucks. i love BLTs and the one received was a cruel disappointment. i know better than to trust photos of the food from restaurants, and i learned my lesson. won't order from panera's again. the bread was delicious and the pickle was a welcome addition. however, two small pieces of bacon do not a BLT make. i had to search for the lettuce. two tiny pieces that didn't even reach the edge of the bread. i've learned my lesson.....again.....order before we get hungry, not when we're hungry....then the photos won't be believable. :-) read more

They messed up a very simple Door Dash order, would not even discuss it, would not offer re-delivery of the missing item. Only after an extremely frustrating session with Door Dash could I get a PARTIAL refund. The bag was sealed, and I took it in immediately, so the error was clearly Panera's not the driver's. I'm just here to give a BIG shout out to the staff at Panera bread especially, the manager (I didn't get his name) it's 5:50 pm on a Monday 7/22/24. It's been a while since my last visit here and today, my son and I decided to stop by for a late lunch after his driving practice with me. I was putting my order online and I got a promotion on my email saying half off for over $5 order. It wasn't taking the promo code I was given so I asked the nice young lady at the register and she said she'll get the manager to help me. Since COVID, we have only visited this Panera Bread location twice and both times I ordered online for in-store pick-up. The first time, I went in to pick up my order and did not see it in the pick up area. I waited about 10 minutes before asking an employee for help and she stated that they must be making it. Another 10 minutes went by and I mentioned I had not seen it yet, so she asked to see my confirmation email. When I showed it to her she checked the back and realized someone had taken my order so she had them make a new one. This time the experience was much more pleasant. I had to pick up a few things from Target so I ordered it before I did my shopping. When I got to Panera Bread I was about 10 minutes early but decided to go in to see if it was ready. I did not see my order but after about 5 minutes I received a text stating it was done. I ordered a quinoa bowl, chipotle chicken sandwich and mac and cheese for the kiddos. My kids always love their mac and cheese and a kids size is just not enough so I typically order a large and another side of Mac and cheese with my meal, making it just enough. I ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich, but didn't want it on focaccia bread so I opted for sourdough. This is why I love ordering online. I can customize my order without feeling bad about taking too long to decide. I did not try any of the quinoa bowl but my husband said it was ok. He stated it could use more of a sauce because it was a bit dry. We have gone to Panera for breakfast and lunch many other times and the food is pretty consistent. This Panera bread has the best staff! The good already speaks for itself, always fresh food, bread/sweets, soup and salads. The parking can get a bit crowded. However, it's because they share the parking lot with other establishments. I give this franchise a 5 star rating because of the fresh food they serve, communication of their staff to their customers and co-workers, ample (but limited parking), cleanliness of the dining area, but most of all the excellent customer service they provide! I was there last week and I was notified as soon a I walked in, that there is a bit of wait because they were under staff (it happens). I told her I didn't mind waiting, she was very polite and took my order. While waiting in the dining area I overheard a man, yelling at the manager that he was going to complain because it took them 20mins to make his order and he place it on-line (I over heard all this because he was screaming), and it shouldn't take them that long to make his food. The manager on duty, politely responded with, " Sir if you're not happy with your order I can give you a refund, and the customer still screaming, No! I'm going to call corporate and complain! I give this place zero stars. My pregnant partner was craving something specifically from Panera Bread, so I brought her here. We were knocking the door for about 5 minutes only to be completely ignored by ALL STAFF. There were people eating in there & in line to order, it looked open. We went around to the other entrance where this gentleman let us in. Once we got in one of the ladies who work there rudely stated that it's leaking rain (which we didn't see at all) so for the customers safety they weren't opening the doors. I told her "I wish you would've told us since we're waiting in the pouring rain knocking the door." We get in line for a few minutes only to be told by another staff member that they're closing down and not taking anymore orders. She seemed irritated & wanted the customers to definitely know how she felt. Some of the customers who didn't open the door for us also had to leave, which was the only good thing that came out of this situation since they saw my pregnant partner and I standing in the rain knocking on the door. This place is a solid 4 stars. They have good food that is nourishing and delicious. When I don't feel like cooking I get the premium family meal from the app. It's 4 half sandwiches, a family size soup (I get the chicken noodle) , a family size salad of choice, a full Sourdough loaf, and 4 very large chocolate chip cookies. It's 37.00 and feeds a family of 4 well. Another good value is the bagel deal on Tuesday. I generally buy the whole office bagels on Tuesday. They even slice and toast them if you want, they have a ton of choice of bagels too. Lastly this location is great because of the manager. She is just really lovely. My colleague and I came here to order lunch for our team. It was very simple we got everything ordered on the tablet within minutes and waited for our meals to be made. I never had Panera bread before so this was my first time having lunch from here. I ordered the chipotle southwest without any chicken. The salad was delicious and filled me up! I can't give no more than 2 stars. Honestly would give it 1/ 1/2 if I could. Maybe it's just this location but the service is so sub par. I'm not greeted, I'm the one initiating the interaction at the cash register area. The cashier seemed to be in a deep conversations with her co-workers rather then work I guess. We placed our orders and she seemed to want to just hurry up the order. They were out of bread as a side also.. but didn't care she just said you can only get chips or an apple. She just wasn't pleasant & kind of felt an attitude. I'm not sure if it was just tonight, but our soups were not hot, maybe luke warm. Plus we're not filled up, I think they skimp on the portions here. I normally enjoy my soup but tonight just didn't feel the vibes... Ohh and I saw a gentleman wait for what felt like 30 minutes for his food. The waits here at this location are by far longer than any other Panera. They may need additionally training here.. I go here often. The service is below McDonald's. I always have to check my bag. I can't count the amount of times there was stuff missing out my salad. I like guacamole on my sandwiches and salads, and it's missing a lot. Your telling me I pay 1.29 to not get it 25% of the time. I work close by and I like the convenience of ordering online and picking up, but this place fu**ing sucks! Then it's like do I take the time to ask for the stuff that's missing or go back to work? I came here on a busy Sunday afternoon. The women in front happily greeted me and helped me place my order. I tried Panera's new Signature Chicken sandwich! It was sincerely so delicious! I had it with spinach instead of the emerald greens. I really appreciated the kitchen staff giving me a wet towel so I could clean off one of the tables in the dining room. This is why 4-not 5 stars. Just want to say thank you to Natalie , one of the nicest people who works there. I was waiting for my meal and hadn't heard my pager go off or my name called as I'm partially deaf. She was behind the counter and said she'd called my name, she said my pager might not be working. I just asked if my soup was still hot. She offered to get me a fresh one, but I didn't want to waste it. She helped me reheat it in the microwave, nice and hot. She brought me an extra side of dressing and took care of me. I was having a tough day because Father's Day is hard without my Dad, and I was alone all day. Hands down worst experience at a Panera. Made the food cold, told me they won't remake it, it was ice cold and I just gave you 30 bucks to not eat. Take your gross employees and offer sensitivity training or a pink slip. Total garbage atmosphere. Napkin had green mold on it and best of all when I told them it was freezing they told me to microwave it. Trashy employees ruining a Panera experience,  get on it corporate! This was my first ever 1 star review and I very rarely have a horrible experience dining, let alone at a Panera. I like the convenience and location of Panera Bread in Pinole, CA. It's really sad how every table was dirty and flies are hovering over the freshly baked cookies in this location. I have yet to see the fireplace turned on in the winter, which makes for a cozy and inviting place to eat on a cold winter day. Please change this to a cleaner establishment ASAP. This is my second encounter with the restaurant in this condition. Last month I informed the manager when I saw fruit flies on the cookies. This is my second visit where it appears the carpet needs vacuuming , tables need attention, and the dessert area is not cleaned. We are still in Covid season.
