The food here is ok, nothing I would go out of my way for. The only reason I go to this place is to buy the Mac and cheese for my daughter. Decor and ambiance is nice, but I will say the staff there is not too friendly. They seem cold and they get annoyed when you ask too many questions about the ingredients on the menu. My first experience there, I ordered some cookies and they forgot to put them in my bag. I didn't realize this until I got home and I never went back for them. Since my last review, this location has gotten better. Food portions have increased AND quality of food has increased. I am no longer scared to order the broccoli cheddar soup. Tried to have dinner at this location and they were out of bread bowls. Unfortunately we had to wait in line for 12 minutes to find this out. They only had one employee up front to take orders and answer the phone. When we starting walking away the employee chased us and told us to call ahead next time to make sure they had bread bowls ... Every Time I visit this specific store, there's always something wrong. May it be my order itself, or this time, the lack there of. I visited the Pinole branch at 2/28/2015 at 7:59pm and ordered a large bowl of chicken noodle soup. I patiently waited for my order to be called for 20 MINUTES and when I approached the cook to ask how much longer i have to wait for a bowl of soup, he then informed me that my order isn't even on his order screen. WTF. It's already unacceptable to wait for 20 mins for a simple order and for it not be on the order screen the whole time?? What are the employees doing here?! Spoke to a manager in charge and he immediately made my order but offered no other resolutions. Got my soup at 8:20pm, however I asked for an apple and got a dinner roll instead. I give up. My order was so wrong. They didn't mark any of my instructions down on the receipt. I asked for my apple to be cut up into my salad, and not the dried apples. Also asked for no tomatoes. This rating is only for their internet connection (everything else is good). Their internet connection is TERRIBLE. and it is not because there were a lot of people sharing. It's early morning on a holiday. I may be the only one here. It takes literally 6 minutes to load a page and eats 4% of your battery. I only came here in the past because I had gift cards. Expensive considering I get the same half sandwich every time and only once did it actually have enough content inside. The Thai salad is usually good, though. The smoothies taste like McDonald's smoothies. The first two times here my order was wrong. I came in with my girlfriend on 1/13/13. This place was packed with a line out the door, which I understand since it was a Sunday. There are 3 registers available for use and there was only one person working as a cashier. The line wasn't getting any shorter. Finally when I get to the front to order the food was way over priced. It cost me $27.00 for 2 sandwiches, smoothies. And 1 cookie. Not to mention the food was bite sized! The cookie was more filling then the sandwich. While we were waiting for our order we were given a device that glows and vibrates to let us know to come get our food. When we were called over our food wasn't ready but they kept assuring me it's almost done dont leave. I waited there nearly 10 mins. I thought the point of the device was to let you know your food is ready to avoid standing around.. Another thing, there menu doesn't give a description of what your ordering. It said "asiago roast beef" that's it. Am I expected to know what asiago means? Or does it mean anything? Regardless it was a roast beef sandwich drenched in horse radish. I can't stand horse radish! The only good thing about panera is their 1.25 bagels and even that seems a little pricy to me.You can bet I won't be going into a Panera anytime soon. read more

The menu didn't seen as big as the one in Fairfield. Me and my other half dined in 3/7/14 and noticed that the rear corner of the restaurant was infested with nats. So needless to say while I was trying to carry on a conversation while eating. I was continuously swatting them. Kind of annoying. Three different people at two different times were so helpful. Stephanie on 11/25 helped me make a special order and was very helpful. Today, 11/26, at 9:39, a really nice young man took my order and when he saw they were busy in back, he made my coffee and brought it out to me. I wish I knew his name because he deserves a big kudos! Then to top it off, Karla who was there on both occasions showed me some wonderful new pastries that were wonderful. I can not seem to get a complete order. My last 5 times have been missing at least 2to3 items every time I get the poppy seed salad. I don't get it. What is so hard to complete these orders. He answered all of our questions about fruity salads . may I add I'm a chatter box and he handled me very well ! We call this place dinner and a show because this is THE ratchet panera. All the staff constantly fights and are rude to eachother in front of customers arguing about training eachother. Arguing about who is doing their job. Arguing about who isn't the boss of who. I was in bread heaven!!! We stopped here on our way back to Reno after a football game in Oakland. I ordered the Creamy Tomato soup in a bread bowl (when in bread heaven you order everything in bread!). The soup was served piping hot in a sourdough bread bowl with a side of bread - yep, a side of bread!! The soup was delicious and the bread in the bowl that soaked up the soup was insanely yummy. The kids that run the cashier are usually mentally impaired, thankfully they seem to be getting better but just as I have to leave the county again. IE: Like not leaving a customer mid sentence to go fix a problem with an order mistake. OMG please just focus and press the right button on the computer, no not that one... ugh. I am a regular at Panera across the country and this one is by far the worst. Silverware was dirty so we asked for a replacement. They were also dirty. Cream cheese was watery. Threw away most of our food because we didn't want to get sick from it. Avoid. read more

The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star review were the cashiers. The manager and the cooking staff are very kind and friendly. I LOVE PANERA, i have a rewards card and love just about everything on the menu. But the majority of the cashiers, are rude to the costumers, repeating or answering questions in a condescending tone. I think some of the staff need to adjust their attitude but other than that this is the place to eat, absolutely affordable foods that taste home made. read more

Always used mobile order and it has been fine. Today ordered and they forgot my soup! Tried calling pressing all different options as it continually just cuts you off after ringing for a few minutes. First time customers and were weren't quite sure how the system worked so the patient cashier walked us through it and helped us find something delicious! Today was my 3rd visit to this Panera. It's part of a busy shopping mall but the cars move in/out so very little wait if any to park. Today I went at lunchtime, 5 people in front of me and it moved well with 2 cashiers. I've never had a bad experience like many of the other reviews. My cashier (on the receipt) Nicole, was so friendly & helpful. She took the time to check the back bread racks to see if she could find the 2 loaves I wanted. They were out of the whole grain and w.w. ones I initially wanted so I ended up getting a Farm style loaf ($9.17 incl. tax) pretty steep until you see/pick up the actual loaf. It's extra large and heavy, a very hearty loaf. I also got a bear claw pastry which was very substantial. Their big cookies, loaves, bagels and pastries are fairly priced because you get a lot. The farm style loaf is like a country whole wheat dense pullman shaped loaf and extra tasty if you slice it wide, toast lightly and spread your favorite topping. Don't let the not so kind reviews dissuade you. Give them a try! read more

So I had lunch with my 2 year old who told me he wanted soup for lunch, panera seemed like a good choice. Boy was I wrong. For starters I didn't get a pager to eat in, instead they did the whole call your name thing and were of no assistance helping me get the food to the table m, which sucked seeing s how I wanted eat outside. So we opted to stay in seeing as how my toddler can't carry his own soup. Then when we sit down I realize they messed up my order on several accounts even though it clearly has my order on the receipt. Came here recently with my wife to get take out. I have had their french onion soup in the restaurant before and it is pretty good. I decide to get it to go and for me it was a mistake. Now, I am pretty finicky about my french onion soup, it is one of my favorites. The problem was the cheese. Normally it is baked or broiled but as take out that wouldn't really work. So they put it noble side for use later. But it just isn't the same without that crusty cheese on top. I also had the Italian sandwich and it was pretty good. For these two items, I was just moderately pleased. Hence the three stars, for me they are also just better for staying in at least for the stuff I like. read more
