Food: I received a fresh Baker's Dozen with a variety of delicious bagels and yummy cream cheese. Service and Atmosphere: The young lady at the counter was sweet and listened attentively when I explained that I needed to speak with the Manager and why. She didn't hesitate, she went and called her manager whose demeanor was quite inviting and pleasant. My visit had nothing to do with his restaurant but he listened, he heard me, and he apologized to me on behalf of the location that I was not pleased with. Chris didn't have to do that, but he did. I couldn't have asked for a better experience from such a kind, patient, and understanding human being. We need more people like Chris, the Manager at Panera on Fairmont in Pasadena. I would rather travel to a farther Panera location than to visit the one near my home in order to be treated with dignity and respect. I am now a new and loyal customer of THIS Panera! So I rejoined their sip club again and was glad to see the charged lemonades added to the mix along with teas, coffee, and soda. Today dined in for the first time ever. I was intrigued by the 1/2 sandwich/soup duo. Immediately when you walk in, there are self order kiosks and a large walk-up counter. It took a while to order due to indecisiveness by other guests. I rolled with the tuna salad and tomato soup duo. My wife went with the double soup duo of creamy chicken wild rice and broccoli cheese soup. And lastly, my daughter got a Caesar salad and soup. My sandwich was deconstructed with the celery, lettuce, tomato, and onion separated from the actual tuna salad. It was no big deal because it was actually quite delicious! I want to add that you are given the option of chips, baguette bread, or an apple as a side. So why the 3 stars instead of 5. One of my big annoyances eating somewhere is not being given a receipt after you have paid. I am real big on transparency and accuracy on pricing. I didn't realize at first it wasn't given to me, so I went back to the counter. However, there was some type of delay again at the counter, so I didn't bother. Secondly, it appears they use an expediter to deliver food, and I realized our food was just sitting up there ready while our soups were getting cold. On top of this, our apples we chose were warm and not cold?? Overall, I will continue to redeem for the sip club because I am always thirsty, lol. Last week I ordered some food to go from this location. Y'all, I usually love Panera bread. But this time, my salad was missing the chicken. I ordered the salad and sandwich combo. When I got home, I realized that they packed my order without the chicken. So I literally paid 7.99 plus tax for lettuce and salad dressing !! When I called to tell them what happened, they said that I can drive back to get a salad with chicken. I didn't have time bc it's not close to me. They have quick order machines set up at the entrance but I discovered and had an employee confirm that they automatically say they are out of all 0.99 desert add ons. You have order those in person at the counter. Just do the order at the counter. I liked the French Onion soup with the cheese already added, a baguette, an ice tea, and a chocolate croissant. They don't put croutons in their French Onion Soup but I had the baguette I dipped occasionally. I used the opportunity to sample a caffeinated fruit drink and a green tea as well with my plastic tea glass. Reasonably fast. I got out of there paying $12. Got it with sourdough bread and asked for light tuna salad (not sure because it didnt say on my receipt) Vegetarian creamy tomato soup $4.09- pretty good, but it wasnt even warm, almost just room temperature. I think it was more filling than the sandwich though. Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich $5.39 (half) - hubby said it did not taste as good as other locations. He also ordered a whole sandwich, but they messed up and charged for a half. He was still starving so he ate both our chips and a cookie. Broccoli cheddar soup $4.09- my hubby's go to soup. I have never had any issues until recently. I always come here for iced coffee via curbside. Well a few days ago my husband went to pick up my order and was waiting for 20 minutes and they never came out. I ended up calling 4 times to see what was going on and NO ONE answered. The last straw for me at this location was when I placed a $35 order through delivery and it was cold, had a couple of missing items, and the person delivering the food was belching continuously as he was walking up to the door. I so want to like Panera Bread. It is a very nice looking restaurant with lots of yummy looking breads and pastries... but it is just a front. Every time I go I end up trying something different, because the food really isn't that good. The only thing that I have found that I like is the soups. I have not had one sandwich or salad that was good enough to order again, and believe me... I have tried lots of them. Also, the bread that comes with the soup is always super hard. On my last visit I thought I would try the tortilla soup and the turkey sandwich. The tortilla soup was good... but the sandwich was terrible. I could not even eat 1/2 of it. I ended up going back up to the counter to order something else because a cup of soup is all that comes with the soup and sandwich combo and I wanted more than just a cup of soup. (This girl likes to eat!) So, I told the counter person that I didn't like the sandwich and that I wanted to order a plain croissant. She told me that she would just give it to me since I didn't like the sandwich. Well, I must admit that the plain croissant was not much better. I understand that croissants are supposed to be flaky... but it was soooo flaky that it crumbled when I took a bit out of it. I ended up wearing more of it than actually eating it. I usually go for the soup and sandwich combo which is usually pretty consistent in quality. What really confuses me are the side items. Ok so say I get a smokehouse turkey sandwich with chipotle sauce and a cup of soup (yum), well then they ask if i want a loaf of bread, an apple or some greasy ass kettle chips. Never any sort of greeting. A young lady said we could use the kiosk because see was to busy to wait in us. Another young lady told her not to say things like that and she responded she didn't care. Details of visit: Arrived at the location at 7PM on 10/16 Issues: Coffee and hot water had not been serviced, untrained employee on the register, floors and tables were filthy, out of product (Corp issue according to the Staff), Manager and Assistant had a severe lack of engagement. As a leader in my own organization I requested the Manager, and began to coach her and her Assistant on how to run their location. Immediately changes began to happen. As I was leaving, a couple employees and the customers in line thanked me. The leaders I addressed were less than pleased. Panera, SHAME on you for allowing your brand to be tarnished by this low-performing location. read more

Ordered curbside pickup. Sat in my car 15 min PAST the delivery time. Finally decided to go go inside to see what the issue was; if they were busy I would have understood why there was a hold up. They were not busy. I asked an employee where my CURBSIDE pickup order was and she, unapologetically, showed me to a shelf where my melted frozen coffee and salad were sitting. I understand that people make mistakes and communication may have gotten mixed up; I didn't complain. I took my items, thanked the employee and left. Upon arriving home, I looked into my bag and discovered that the loaf of bread was just sitting there, unwrapped and clearly torn in half as if it had just been thrown in there. Once again, I wasn't upset (a bit perturbed and moderately disgusted because it seemed uncouth and therefore inedible, but I wasn't planning on eating it anyway so no harm done). What really got me was the fact that when I opened my Fuji APPLE salad there were no APPLES. Again, possibly a small issue. So I give them a call, no answer. Keep calling, no answer. No answer. No answer. At this point I'm debating whether I should return and talk to the manager, but I have a lot on my plate today and the location is out of my way...so here's a review on why I'm completely disappointed with this location. These may have been small issues, but small issues accumulate and at this point I'm pretty upset, particularly because I am unable to get in touch with a manager and will have to be ok with this half-a** service.
