The food is great, but I believe that individuals who work there are instructed to do pretty significant cleaning and maintenance on the salad bar whenever anybody orders it. It wasn't until my wife and I arrived and began serving ourselves that somebody began vigorously cleaning every part of the salad bar. Going so far as to completely dismantle it while we were trying to enjoy it. This has happened many times before. We stayed long enough to observe this behavior repeated when other patrons also visited the salad bar. When we first arrived, the salad bar appeared completely stocked and clean. I don't know what this person was doing. I am beginning to believe that this is a strategy on the part of Jason's deli to get people not to use the salad bar. It worked on me. On March 25, 2025 I, my daughter, and her friend stopped in for a quick bite before returning back to work. We ordered 2 tuna fish sandwiches ( my favorite) and pasta. Left out. Returned to work. Getting ready to eat my tuna sandwich and saw hair sticking out from the tuna. Asked daughter to please return the tuna as I was already back at work. I am not sure what was said at this moment when returned tuna sandwich, but the owner did not return my receipt back. However, they retuned back with the second tuna sandwich. Well, when getting ready to bite in, I saw another hair sticking out of the sandwich. I was extremely shocked to see another hair in my food. So I touched it to make sure it wasn't just a piece of tuna sticking out. No, it was a string of hair. At this moment I was very upset as I had nothing to eat that day. I called my daughter and her friend back to please return the sandwich and get my money back at this point. They were highly upset as they had to turn back around (as they live down the street from George Bush Intercontinental Airport). My daughter asked to see the sandwich first as she was in disbelief being this is the second sandwich. She wanted to see it and confirm it for herself. They then returned the sandwich. This time I was called on the phone and heard the lady ( in which she stated she was the owner), immediately tell my daughters friend before she could even get words out, that she ( the owner ) did go through the sandwich and stated, the tuna look like strings of hair. My daughters friend then proceeded to tell her to just give us a refund back please and the receipt showing the refund for our records. This went on for several minutes back and forth. The owner stated she did the refund, but when it came to the receipt she proceeded that she couldn't print it out, then switched to.. she threw it in the trash. Well after a couple of minutes catching them in lies her and a gentleman, the receipt surprisingly popped up out of no where torn. All we were asking for was the receipt for our records. The owner asked, why do you need the receipt? The moral is being that we own a restaurant, it is imperative to wear hair nets, hats, aprons for clothes, and or hair tied back into a ponytail when dealing with food. This was the first time for us to visit here. We had a gift card that was over a year old and there was no problem in using it. They have a great selection so we had to use their menu which was much detailed than their board. Their prices were excellent for their portions and quality. My wife had the full pastrami sandwich which was a half pound. She said it was as good as NYC's Katz's deli. She also ordered a cup of cheese broccoli soup. I had the roasted turkey with muffeletta on a toasted ciabatta roll. This sandwich was simply amazing. I also ordered a cup of tomato basil soup. This was the chunkiest basil tomato soup I ever had. What a perfect combination. We both the black courant ice tea. My wife had to add sugar. On the way out you can get an ice cream cone either chocolate or vanilla. I don't know why it's been so long since we've been to Jason's Deli! This location is close to home and their food is always great! We went on a Monday night. There were only a few tables in there, if even. The staff was very nice and helpful. And the food came out very quick! I ordered the Chicken Club Salad since I was trying to be somewhat healthy. I love this salad and I've ordered it in the past. I think the chicken used to be crispy but now it's grilled. That's fine with me since it's healthier. This salad has grilled chicken (as I mentioned), shredded cheese, crumbled bacon and avocado. Yum, right? Yep, it totally is. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Alfredo pasta. He was craving a sandwich but once he opened the menu and saw the pasta, he was sold. It was actually VERY good! Rich, creamy and flavorful sauce with penne pasta and grilled chicken. It was served with garlic bread as well. He was very happy with his order! And I stole a couple of bites myself. I also love their salad bar! It's so fresh. My boyfriend raved about their sweet tea. The salad buffet always hits the spot. I just don't like that it's 1 trip. I end up getting more than I can eat because I load my plate.

My complaint isn't about the food as much as it is the service and management of this location. During busy times of day, especially lunch and dinner, the three spots reserved for "To Go" orders are often taken by dine-in customers. On several occasions I've sat at the window by them and watched families park in the to-go spaces and come inside and sit down. Not a big deal, but it is an annoyance, especially when I place a to-go order myself and there are not any spaces nearby to run-in and get my food because all the spaces are being used by dine-in customers. My other issue with this location is they seem to start shutting down the Salad Bar around 9pm even though the restaurant doesn't close for another hour and a half. Twice in the past month I have visited around 9pm and staff have started putting away the salad bar items. Not a big deal, but it is annoying when you order the salad bar and when you get your plate, they've already started putting away items. Otherwise, everything I have ordered from here has been of good quality and tastes excellent; The facilities are clean and well maintained. Jason's Deli is a staple in my personal "take away" list. I work close to this location and often times I'll get a group together to order a delivery. I haven't had problems so far. I'll say right off the bat that I'm not a salad person. I rarely get hungry and say, "I want a salad!" That being said, the Nutty-Mixed Up Salad was a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed the lighter portion and was left feeling full. I will normally get their Manager's Special and get half a wrap/sandwich and a cup of soup. I love, love, love their French Onion Soup. I won't even try other soups because I'll regret not getting this one! Note: it's a vegetarian soup, so if you're vegetarian give it a try. With the wrap/sandwich I switch between getting half of the Turkey Wrap or half of the Amy's Turkey-O sandwich. I really enjoy both of these. Note: the Amy's Turkey-O sandwich has an onion bun and raw, red onion. If you're not an onion fan this is not the sandwich for you. My oldest swears that Jason's has The Best Mac & Cheese, so she gets that every time. My youngest loves their HUGE fruit plate and will devour it. They, of course, have the magnificent salad bar (if you're a salad person). The bar also has cornbread and gingerbread muffins along with a variety of crackers. And I can't forget the free ice cream! I love having a Jason's Deli close by my job. This place is always busy and you may have to wait a little while to get your food, but it is worth the wait. I love that they have pretty good variety and even their salads are pretty good. I like to get the manager's special, which comes with your choice of soup, a cup of fruit and a half sandwich. I usally get the seafood gumbo as my soup and I have never been disappointed. They also have pretty good pasta. I definitely recommend them for lunch! Enjoy! read more

I looked up the menu for the Spencer store online. It clearly states the prices for a bowl of French Onion Soup & a bowl of Broccoli cheese soup is $3.79 each. We were charged $4.99 per bowl.. We also ordered 2 Reuben the Great sandwiches priced at $7.79 that is supposed to come with a pickle & chips.. We were charged at the store when we went to pick it up $4.99 for each bowl of soup & $9.99 for each Reuben & got no pickles or chips. There was almost no dressing on the bread & was the worst meal we have ever gotten at any Jason's Deli EVER!! The French Onion Soup was so bad my husband couldn't eat it. The Broccoli Cheese Soup was watery & almost tasteless until I put Salt & Pepper in it then it was not bad. We have never been so disappointed in Jason's Deli as we were tonight. And got charged extra for it!! Today I took a copy of the menu I printed off the website for this store. I had just highlighted the items I had ordered so it didn't have the store address on it. The "manager" argue with me for 15 minutes that this was NOT their store menu.. So I came back home expecting the website to be changed already.
