The worst Panera experience we've had. Ordered at the kiosk and when we tried to order certain items for the "Pick 2", we got notifications saying they are missing tomatoes or cucumbers. At this point, I wanted to leave because of the missing items but my wife insisted, so we ordered for Dine-In with about 35 min. left before closing. It also seems that you have to tip at least $1 and there's option not to tip. I don't mind tipping but forcing a customer to tip without showing good customer service yet is just ridiculous. There were only about 2 customers ahead of us and it took more than 10 minutes to serve our food. When the female associate served our food, it was in a Take Out bag when we clearly chose Dine In. She said that they were closing soon, and her manager told her to change to Take Out because they are closing soon. We still about 15 min. left, and we would have more if it wasn't for their slow service. That's just lazy-thinking and poorly managed. As for food quality, we were not satisfied. Taste was alright overall but the value of each Pick 2 for the little amount of each item is not worth $15. The amount also seems less compared to the Cary location we went to recently. Ambiance is about the same as any Panera; this one has kiosks unlike the Southpoint location. This location clearly has management and customer service issues, and I wish I read others' reviews before we went here. Recently started visiting this Panera because it is close to my job. I usually stop in for a soda before work and at lunch. It is always clean and well stocked and employees are friendly. The parking lot is very small, though, and sometimes is full. Today I ordered a salad for lunch and cinnamon roll to go. I ordered on the app and it was ready and correct when I arrived. I ordered the chicken balsamic salad with greens and grains. They were out of avocado but the app did alert me of that when I ordered. The salad was really good -- lots of flavor. This is a nice Panera Bread. Panera Bread is my go to place for fast healthy food. Love their duets and normally get the Greek salad and tomato soup. Very filing and they do great job here. Servers were friendly and kept the place clean. Atmosphere is nice indoors but my friend and I sat outside on a nice afternoon. My buddy got the chipolata chicken sandwich . Both of us enjoyed our meals. Decent value for the price. See pics. Pro Tip: Order from the kiosk for faster service. Panera Bread is located in busy area with shared free parking for several stores. Though I have lived in Cary for over 20 years I seldom visit Panera for the reasons I encountered today. Basically they run out of stuff & don't tell you until after you've ordered & paid. Not a great customer experience at all & the food is meh. I ordered a soup, coffee & muffin for a total of $15.32! I used the kiosk for this order. Once completed my payment I grabbed a cup & poured what was warm coffee at best. I waited & my soup was ready rapidly. I was then informed that my pumpkin muffin was not available & I was asked if I wanted another treat. I commented no as that was for my daughter. The guy at the food counter said he would refund the $$ & within 24 hours it did go through. The time of my visit 3:29 pm. I'll avoid this Panera in the future as my experience today was very similar to past experiences. I'm not keen to pay top dollar for luke warm coffee & no muffin. I spoke with the team manager who said that it's normal for them to be out of stuff after the morning. He said I should see a refund within 24 hours. Hubs ordered chicken avocado melt with chips. That's not much and if you see the sandwich they really put a thick slice of avocado but not enough chicken. I frequent this Panera because it's close to me, and especially during COVID, they have done a good job of enforcing precautions. I've never had any problems with placing mobile orders here for both rapid pickup and curbside pickup. I've had some problems with waiting too long during curbside pickup or not getting the order for rapid pickup at other Paneras in the area, but haven't had any problems here. I mainly come for bakery items and hazelnut coffee, though. In my opinion, the lunch and dinner entrees are not very filling, even though they taste good. read more

WHAT THE HECK?! They are so nice here!! They actually anticipated my order at the drive through and were smiling at me when handing me my order at the window! I haven't experienced that at many other places so that says a lot how they select their staff. Small gestures go a long way to make someone's day. LOVE this Panera since they are SO ccommodating to folks with multiple food allergies! I am deathly allergic to nuts so eating out is hard. Also allergic to milk and avocado so options are limited. We finally got a chance to stop by Panera Bread to see what all the hype was about over their new Flatbread Marketing promotion that's on tv these days. Im also participating in their three month free coffee promotion which is an awesome deal by the way, so we went for it. The Chipotle Chicken and Bacon Flatbread did not disappoint. We ordered it through the drive through and it was ready in about 3-5 minutes after we got to the window. Id love to see how they are executing their flatbreads in the kitchen one of these days. Both chicken sandwiches only had one piece of chicken and hardly any of the other toppings. Panera use to be good and have sandwiches that look like the pictures but this is just straight bread now. Also, the quality of the focaccia here is terrible. Super disappointed. read more

Where to start... at the beginning I suppose. Set the scene: Its Saturday about 7 pm, my in laws in town, just got back from Chicago and have to leave on Sunday for Greenville SC, wife and step dad going to concert, middle kid's freind sleeping over (super picky eater but likes Panera), and 7 year old daughter is starving. Developed the story: I wanted to chillax with my fam, and since one of the crew liked Panera, and they deliver, sweet, that means I get to order and hang at home. So, I gather all orders and place delivery order, hit send and web site says they are done with deliveries for the day and to pick a new time. Their earliest is 1130 am on Sunday...wtf? Ok, screw it I'll just pick it up, gotta feed the fam, so I used "rapid pickup"! Click click boom. Order placed... The finale: I had added a 10 dollar delivery tip to the order, which was kept when I changed to pickup, and my 95 dollar order was 111 after taxes, grrrr. Ok, a bit pissed, but it's processed. Placed order at 730, order said it would be ready by 834. I got there at 825 so I could get it home as fresh as possible. I was waiting while the girl at the order counter asked me if I needed something, and I said I was waiting for an 834 pickup. She said it was only 831, not in a nice tone, FYI. At 836 the back line manager came out because he saw me pacing and said they had no other orders... omg. I showed him the order I had and he went back and found it, and stopped the crew from breaking down to make my order before they closed. They were out of flatbread, and two other breads by that time, so I randomly picked other breads and two other sandwiches, and they made my food. Ironically, I am standing by the sign that says if anything is wrong they will make it right and give you a treat for your trouble... they call my name, and I take my food, and very awkwardly make my way to the exit (one huge bag, smaller bag, and coffee drink). As I left, trying not to drop something, heard the manager sigh and say he is going home. Worst part was that they wanted to get out so fast that when I got home I had to rebuild the sandwiches so that all of the ingredients were not in the middle of the bread. I fricking hate touching mayonnaise, and it was sloppy. I rebuilt, where needed, and fed the fam was fed. I was so turned off at this point I didn't even eat. I love Panera Bread! It's the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I visited this location in the Park West shopping center on a Tuesday afternoon. I chose this location because I had an event later in the evening in the Cary area and I had a few hours of work to get done before hand, and Panera is a great place to get work done too. I tried the Baja Mac & Cheese for the first time as part of my pick two and loved it. They add the perfect amount of pico and avocado to pair with the Mac & Cheese. I have to admit that their new service of order online and pickup (on a special shelf in back of the store) has become one of my favorites. You specify what time you want your order to be done. I have used this several times and have never been disappointed. Their vegetable soup has become one of my favorites. It has so many vegies in it. Maybe even barley ? Quinoa ? I can't figure it all out by the stuff is delicious. Last time I got the "Pick 2" and had the soup and a half of the Frontega Chicken (I think) it's a panini. The sandwich was very good. Upon entering the store, a deliver driver walked in before us, did not hold the door for us but rushed ahead of us and just sat at the counter when he entered. My son, 14, held the door for me. Terrible service! I went in to get my first bagel box ever - when I asked for it the cashier clearly rolled his eyes. I didn't know how the process worked and when the total came up I tried to pay (I didn't know you pick the flavors then pay - again it was my first time) he was so rude and condescending to me that I let him know that his attitude sucked and left the property. Brief summary: just don't bother at this location or any other Panera. This restaurant continues to be a location (Cary, NC, Park West Village) where they charge you a lot for "cleaner" (their ads say) food -- but don't know how to prepare the food or serve the customer. I used to just advised Panera of this location's (on-going) problems (well and at other Panera's too) via Twitter but nothing has changed - they blow smoke about how they care, try and take it private and then fix nothing ('here, have an over priced cookie--wheeeee!) Panera charges a lot of money for what they serve. The prices go up while portions and quality go DOWN. In THIS they are VERY consistent. So maybe a detailed Yelp review can get someone's attention and Panera will make customer-centric adjustments. I'm not counting on it. BTW - the manager was in the kitchen cooking---I guess because the cook staff couldn't manage the few orders this very slow restaurant location had. The server person was very aloof and dismissive towards us (all of us at the table thought independently she hated her job) - so there was nobody to talk to this problem about at the location. TONIGHT'S Panera debacle was a 5 person order: ONE of the orders was fine, FOUR were not. A "pick 2" with Bacon, Tomato and Cheddar sammie but no Tomato (said so on the receipt)- this order came out the first time WITH tomato, sent it back. Second time came out with no bacon and charred cheese, sent it back. The THIRD TIME the order came out with the wrong bread - we quit after that because - again, we were annoying the waitress. We also ordered three BOWLS of soup, each whose portions are best described as small, smaller and smallest. $6+ per bowl of their soups, most of which would have filled a cup to barely overflowing. And in the smallest portion, the chicken noodle soup, extra noodles were ordered--- no extra noodles-- heck barely ANY noodles in this cup portion placed in a bowl. I am so confused. This location just opened less than 2 years ago. When I went in while it was new, I ordered a toasted bagel, extra butter, to go and it came in a clam shell container, toasted & buttered. Now I go in, same order, and I'm handed a bagel loose in a bag with a plastic knife and 3 little packets of butter. I just read umteenmillion posts online about not asking Panera to butter your bagel because they wont. But they did during grand opening, so maybe new person didnt know that was their policy. During covid this location has stepped up for our family of 4. My husband and I both work long hours and Panera has been our go to place on nights when we don't have energy to cook. They have stepped up with customer service beyond our expectations. We get most of our meals to go because of the pandemic. A few times as with any restrauntant during pandemic there have been some mistakes but as soon as we called they fixed it and displayed excellent customer service. The soups are always delicious. My children and husband love their breads and cakes. I'm on keto so the salads work great and they have no problem making modifications to fit my diet. In addition, the Managers are nice and they have sweet people that work for them that are always helpful and pleasant after a long day of work. Everything at panera is great, and it is consistent between locations. My staple is a You-pick2 with the Asian sesame chicken salad and either a chicken noodle soup or a roasted turkey sandwich. Always with a baguette for my side. I try to stay away from the baked goods because they are far too delicious. This location has extremely limited parking, so I recommend not even trying to park in front - park across the side street where you will have easier I'm and out. Breakfast is also amazing - who doesn't love cinnamon buns, chocolate croissants? You know what we do at my job when we run out of things, borrow it from another location or mark it out of order so people are not waiting five plus minutes just to be told we dont have cream cheese. They ended up giving me a refund and gave me food, however even if I was to go all the way home for cream cheese...the bagel was burnt.
