After doing some shopping with 2 of my grandkids I made plans to meet with their other grandmother, aunt and cousin at Panera for lunch. I do this frequently as my 7 grandkids love the soup here. After driving around trying to get a parking spot, I entered Panera figuring I would have to wait to get a table. To my surprise, seeing as it was 12:30 on a Saturday, the place was maybe only a third full. When my grandkids other grandmother arrived she went up to put in the order. We waited over 30 minutes and finally our pager lit up. We both went up to pick up the food as there were 6 meals ordered. There were only 4 on the counter, a grilled cheese, a turkey bacon sandwich and 2 lukewarm soups. When asked about the other2 meals, the serving girl stated she was going to bump (I am assuming this means expedite) the rest of the order. After waiting 10 more minutes, she went back to the pick up counter. At that time, one of the employees looked up the order and realized that the cashier had not put the complete order in. The employee stated that the cashier was new and had just started. Okay, we can understand that. At that point a male employee came over and asked what was going on. The employee started to explain what happened to him. At this point, he told her she was going to have to go back to the registers and reorder the food because she was not getting any food she didn't pay for.. She stated that she had no problem with doing that, but did not want to wait another 30 minutes for the food. He then told her she was being rude and aggressive to the employee. She asked the girl if she felt she was being rude and aggressive. The girl stated, no. She then asked to speak to the manager, he said no. She asked for the managers' name. He said, no. The employee kind of quietly said, " he's the manager". She then asked for the district manager name and phone number. He told her to back off, she was being rude and aggressive and he would call the police and have her escorted off the premises. At that point, she told him, "I will find out the district manager's name. He answered " good luck with that". As she was speaking to the corporate office, he sent the assistant manager out to give her a phone number. I felt bad for the staff members, who were all very pleasant and helpful. It's too bad they have a manager like that. His name was Sammy. If he felt he was in the right, he would have had no problem giving his name and the district manager's name. read more

This particular Panera needs some work. Last couple times I've gone here it was real messy; floors, countertops, seats. I can't help cleaning it up while waiting for my order sometimes. My last to-go order was wrong (no avocado on an avocado sandwich). The girl taking orders kept saying she hates her job today and seemed quite frazzled. Another time the other cashier would be complaining there's not enough help, she was alone taking orders with a line out the door. Which isn't uncommon for this location. Loving the pastries, though. We were frequent take-out customers until our experience this evening. We arrived home to find that most of our order was missing and one of the sandwiches very wet with the bread falling apart. While mistakes with an order can be certainly be excused, it was our experience with the manager Scott that will keep us from going back. Rather than offer to credit the appropriate portion of our missing, incorrect and damaged order, he was more interested in trying to mail us a gift certificate amount that he deemed was sufficient - completely ignoring the issue. A simple apology and a sincere effort to make the situation right would have gone a long way and sadly Scott blew it big time. Poor customer service. read more

This Panera Bread location deserves a "Yay! I'm a fan." I probably won't come here too often because I live very far away; however, it's the perfect option when looking for a quick lunch option or coffee place (since there aren't any Dunkin' locations in the Shoppes) in this complex. This specific Panera looks sort of small from the outside, but inside has lots and lots of place to sit down and a well design for the ordering and pick up stations. Even when there is a line, the staff more quickly and there aren't any clusters of people. The menu is the same as you would find at any Panera. Soups, salads, sandwiches are the basics. Only real casual and quick, efficient eat-in spot in the Shoppes @ Blackstone.... there aren't many other healthy places around anyway. Plus, on days when you want to zip in and out for eating, Longhorn or TGI Fridays isn't effective. 4 stars for this Panera. Good enough and a spot I would return due to the good food and the great service. read more

Why do I come here ? Partially because it was the only place open on "the hill". I've been to several other Panera's and general y have good experiences. Here it is a different story. It is poorly staffed, and organized.....it has to be the management at this location. My latest disappointment was asking for a bagel, with tomato and a slice of cheese. Pretty simple right ? The first bagel was cut unevenly by the machine, about 1/6th of it was where it was sliced. I asked for another. Yes, please toast. It was barley toasted, and there was a small greenish tomato on the bagel. Ugh. I then asked for my ice coffee....this complexed the staff...I was handed a small cup....I explained I ordered a large...ok. As others note, tables are not cleaned. While I absolutely love Panera and have yet to have a bad meal at any location. I was extremely disappointed with my service overall today. We were told to use a kiosk to order because we had a debit or credit card. While other customers that followed were not and this was the beginning of the frustration it was confusing and not ideal. Especially when needing to customize orders. After my friend gave up with the kiosk and ordered from the cashier they got her soup wrong however she did not make a fuss. My point is the kiosk ordering is frustrating and leads to confusion and error. read more

I was absolutely appalled at the service I received at this restaurant. Starting off there was one cashier on a Saturday mid-morning so to avoid the wait I went to a kiosk at 10:58am. I know the specific time because the woman ordering with the cashier was going back and forth about not being able to get soup until 11am. I ordered a lunch you pick 2 along with a breakfast wrap. After 20 minutes I went up to the counter to ensure they received my order as I have never had to wait so long at a Panera and they assured me my order was almost ready. After getting back to my seat I was called back up and informed they couldn't make the breakfast wrap as it was after 11. I informed her I ordered before 11 and asked why I wasn't informed 20 minutes ago and the response I got was "I'm not dealing with this". I have worked at Panera previously, along with other customer service jobs and that is not the way to respond to a customer. I then asked for a manager (and I was upset at this point) and informed him his employee was rude and proceeded to ask why we weren't informed earlier and that we placed our order before 11. He informed me it went through at 11:02. He did offer a refund of the sandwich, and then the whole meal and took my boyfriend's debit card and refunded what he said was the whole order but said he didn't have a receipt when asked. I reminded my boyfriend we had paid for half of it with a gift card so it wasn't actually a full refund. While he was at the cash register I went up and let him know that the female employee was what upset me the most and they should train their service members better on dealing with customers. He then told me to calm down and said if I was talking to her like I was talking to him he didn't blame her. I wasn't rude, I wasn't yelling, I was letting him know his employee saying "I'm not dealing with this" was totally unacceptable. I will NEVER be back to this location as I have had other poor experiences there and am turned off by Panera in general if this is how they treat customers. If you would like to speak to that manager it was 11am on Saturday the 21st at the Millbury Plaza Panera bread. Please train your managers and workers to be more proactive in letting customers know they can't fulfill their orders, being not as stringent on the time table (I started my kiosk order before 11 and because my payment didn't go through until 11:02 I was denied breakfast), and in general how to be a nice person. read more

I am so disappointed at how Panera's quality and serving sizes has precipitously declined in recent years. Their prices are higher and the food is a shadow of itself. It is clear that management is trying to boost profits by reducing portion sizes and food quality. I feel like the pictures they show of their food amounts to false advertising. This used to be a place where you could get a moderately healthy meal with good quality and value for a family. A great example is their $9 max & cheese. I can get Lobster Mac and Cheese at a nearby restaurant for only a few dollars more and three times the portion size. It is a shame it has come to this we used to visit twice weekly with our family of size. Last visit was $70 and two of the meals were kids meals and we only purchased two drinks to share. Only giving this one star because I have too. Customer service not where it's at in Millbury. I ordered Aug 10th for a delivery. Half my order was not delivered. I called and there was nothing they can do to fix this problem and was promised a gift card to reciprocate. Here it is Aug 20th. Emailed panera Head quarters and still no email back. I understand it was ordered through door dash but it was panera bread who filled the order and it was not complete. Not only did my family not all eat dinner, I was also not refunded. There had to of been some way to credit my account. Someone named Patty was the manager on this day. She was not helpful and didnt seem to care very much. read more

This isn't the first time my family has eaten here at this location but could be the last. Counter service was good from Savannah but after that it fell off. Ordered a Napa chicken sandwich and chicken noodle soup and a Fuji apple with chicken salad with 2 fountain drinks. When we received our meals and I brought it to the table there was a long black hair in the soup on the edge of the bowl. ( soup was replaced with a fresh bowl with an apology. The salad wasn't that great with mushy tomatoes and pretty much the bitter center parts of the lettuce head as the salad base and one glaring thing missing, the Fuji Apple pieces and the pecan pieces, which I hadn't noticed til I was a third of the way through the salad. We have had issues with take home orders from here before and occasionally when we eat in but it seems in the last 12 months it has gotten really poor in terms of either service or quality. Throw in all the teenagers who do nothing but hang around for the free WiFi and just buy a beverage and milk it, it's making it less appealing to go here. read more

Sent this to Panera Corporate! My husband and I went to the Millbury location today for lunch. I ordered the Frontega Chicken Pannini. My sandwich looked nothing like the photo! And.....it had one tiny piece of chicken on each half and NO BASIL, plus the tomato and onion were sick looking, the piece of cheese was tiny. This sandwich was NOTHING like what your menu shows! You should be ashamed of yourselves!! I went to the pickup window and said there was no basil on it, to which the girl said they were out of basil! Asked if I wanted something else. I said no. Asked me if I wanted pesto on it. I said no. I wanted the sandwich they way it was supposed to be! Went back to the table, took one bite. DISGUSTING! Went to order desk and told them about what I was told and told them to take it off our bill. I wanted nothing else. Young man took it to the back and came back with a manager(I assume). They said that the people making the sandwiches are supposed to inform the people taking the orders that they were out of basil and they did not. They apologized, asked if I wanted something else, to which I said again NO and gave me the money back. Why would I want anything else?! Do not trust what I would order would even be correct. So, my husband ate his Tuna sandwich(which he said was not that good and not worth $9.00) and I had a bottle of water! But, I want corporate to know about this! Panera is a quick, easy meal with a good variety on the menu. They do any meal of the day and have vegetarian, low fat, and small portion items on the menu. Due to their location (Millbury mall) they can get very busy (and the dining room does suffer for it) and at times there is quite a wait. During less busy times, you can count on flavorful soups & fresh breads like those from a sit-down eatery, but at fast food paces. Definitely a wholesome alternative to other "fast" foods. read more

VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this location zero stars I would. If you are a vegetarian DO NOT eat at this location. When I asked the staff if a soup was vegetarian they told me it was, then later I find out it has chicken stock. I don't eat there for 6 months... I go back and order the clearly stated on their menu board vegetarian black bean soup.... and I get a bean chili that has the meat so finely ground you can't see it, when I figure out that it is meat I bring it to the managers attention and inform him I am a vegetarian all he says is "oh well I will get you the right one." NO apology, no word with his staff about being careful, no offer of a refund. NOTHING. You would think that a franchise that advertises it's many vegetarian options would be more careful. When I am having a crappy week --this is my GO-TO lunch spot. Why, you might ask... well because everyone that I have encountered here is helpful & has a smile... and that goes a long way for me. I am a HUGE lover of the "pick 2" lunch .... love the Tortilla soup and the smoked turkey on multigrain bread. I also appreciate that I can all the veggies on my sandwich that I want to bulk it up. Love this place. One of my favorite go to breakfast and lunch spots. I have had everything on the menu. Breakfast quiche are delicious. Cinnamon crunch bagel is a family favorite. Panini's !! Every day I drive past a sign advertising the Lobster Roll at Panera. Since I do meatless Friday i thought it might a good dinner. This particular Panera in Millbury MA should have a good one... it's Massachusetts! Might as well also try the Lobster Mac'n cheese. What a waste of $29! The Lobster Roll... well it wasn't really a roll, the bread was amazingly stale and totally the wrong shape to hold, well anything. Lobster was not seasoned, no butter, no salt... nothing. Pieces were mushy, lettuce was old and clearly just bagged lettuce that you could get at the supermarket. Mac and cheese was full of unsalted, over cooked pasta floating in what appears to be thick milk. There are chunks of lobster but they too are flavorless. I must say that the breadcrumbs had a decent flavor and they were at least crunchy! Had a Diet Pepsi that actually tasted like a Diet Pepsi! This Panera is located in a strip mall and was overrun by little, obnoxious young teenagers. Overall a very bad experience. Love Panera I have to say that first. However millbury is consistently understaffed and they mess up. A lot . This particular Panera is ALWAYS dirty. The bathrooms are disgusting with overflowing trashcans. There was paper and toilet paper and crap all over the place. The dining area never has clean tables people leave the dirty dishes on the table and the staff rarely comes to collect it and wipe down the tables. Their food may be 100% clean but the restaurants is not. read more
