Love this location! It's in a busy plaza with many cars fighting for a parking spot or to get in line for the in-n-out next door. If you want a nice quieter location to either enjoy your lunch or get some work done, definitely check out panera bread! My mom and I came here and almost half the people there were diligently studying or working! At first when we ordered, they had accidentally charged us an extra plate... when they brought the plate to our table, I was a little confused at first but the server was nice enough to fix the problem efficiently and refunded the money to my mom's card! I always get the "You-pick-two" deals because it's so worth it to get multiple yummy items in one meal from so many choices! read more

Near the airport great place to spend an hour or so before a flight. Lots of variety in terms of drink selection. I'm not the biggest fan of the bread served on the sandwiches though. Ask for it toasted or order a panini. Parking lot can be hectic and hard to find a spot. I think InNOut customers take up all the spaces... this place is never that full. I like the peaceful atmosphere here. Its calming and beautiful. There is a fireplace and chatter from patrons that is like grey noise. Good place to whip out your laptop and take care of some business. I had all their pastries by now. I enjoyed their holiday bread with apple filling and most of the other offerings. All good stuff but given its so close to the city I have to keep in mind that a short ride can get me the really really good stuff from Tartine or equivalent. Come for the ambiance and the awesome drink selection. Its really worth an extra $5 not to have to deal with the crowds at InNout next door. read more

For the past five years the attitude of this owner towards his Internet users has been somewhere between ambivalence to hatred. He has a good size dining room. But his service sucks, so just turn it off and quit torturing your customers! Too bad. The food is usually excellent, as it is at most Paneras. I have over $100 gift cards with Panera, but Millbrae is the worst I go to! I came came in for brunch the lady that was working behind the counter i never got her name but I'm sure you guys will know who I'm talking about I asked if they had any soup she said no she were very rude she said the soup could be ready in 10 minutes 20 minutes maybe an hour and told me to to order something else so I did, I noticed she was wearing a Biden mask and I asked what would happen if I worked there and wore a Trump mask she said I'd probably be fired and that was kind of mind blowing because how can you be so rude and politically disgusting to a customer. OMG, my first Panera bread, and I'm definitely coming back again!! OK listen, I am like the worlds, biggest mac & cheese, fan! I absolutely love mac & cheese! Panera bread has some of the best mac & cheese! Everybody here is very nice. It's fairly quiet in there, you may hear some people carry out a conversation. But usually it's not very crowded and fairly quiet. OK, I do not live anywhere near Millbrae, but I live in San Jose. I visited this location twice on my recent trip was it was conveniently located near my hotel (Aloft SF Airport). LOCATION: Parking is plentiful and there is an outdoor sitting area as well for customers. MEAL: Breakfast....as the saying goes the most important of the day..... 1st visit: Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Priced slightly north of $4 and served on ciabatta bread. Very good! I would absolutely order this on a future visit. 2nd visit: Blueberry Bagel with plain cream cheese: Toasted just right (and to my liking) and served with a generous helping of cream cheese. Just the right size portion to start the day in my opinion. On each of my visits I ordered a large coffee to pair with my breakfast. The large is priced at slight above $2, and you can select from 4 choices (self-serve thermoses) at the counter just opposite of the ordering cashier/cash wrap. I selected dark roast and hazelnut, respectively, and highly recommend the hazelnut flavor. SERVICE: Very good. I appreciated the cashier's efforts to keep the line moving at a decent pace by always offering to help the next customer, or any customer that was ready to order. Hello, I made an online order so that k can pick up my food on my lunch break. I got there at the time it says my order will be ready 12:22pm. I didn't see my name on the screen or where they leave the food to be picked up. Waited for about 3 minutes just in case my name pops up on the screen, my name didn't show up. So I went to the counter where you order your food, let the man know that I had ordered my food and my food isn't there or in the screen, he went to go check then went to where they prepared the food. Came back and told me to step aside and he will get a manager, instead he took other people's orders while I waited. Then he went to go check on the computer for my order, let me know I didn't have an order and if I'm sure I added the correct date. I showed him my confirmation number with the correct address. 20 minutes later a manager came up to me then found my order and asked the cooks if they had made my order earlier, they all didn't know since all they do it make different orders. Then she asked them to make another. Which they did. She just gave me my order and walked away. All that took almost 30 minutes!! Very disappointing read more

EXCELLENT PASTRIES AND SERVICE! The minute I walked in - I was greeted with a big smile and lots of options! I like options! I gotta say their pastries is out of this world. I have heard of Panera before but never tried their pastries. I bought their cinnamon roll and their bear-claw. I know it's so basic but the breading and the density of these two were excellent. It had robust flavors and their coffee wasn't too bad either! I also noticed they serve "regular" food such as salads and sandwiches. They looked good too from what I observed. I will give a 5 stars to their STAFF as they are excellent. I felt important just by coming in and being greeted with top notch staff who presents superior customer service. This review is not ONLY about the store, but a specific shout-out to the catering manager who also works at Serramonte Daly City. We recently lost my father-in-law and were permitted to have a funeral BUT, obviously, we could not have the guests attend a post funeral meal. So, we looked into to-go box options from a number of vendors. We called and spoke to the catering manager at Daly City, who, personally took care of our order and squared it away Millbrae location. There was some weirdness about the address and delivery but, instead of making us pick-up the order in our time of grief, he personally delivered it to the funeral home. I strongly recommend this option if you ever need a number of boxed meals for things like staff staff meetings, employee appreciation, or other events. The price point was VERY fair and reasonable and the food was great! The boxes consisted of a sandwich, chips and a delicious cookie. The sandwich was very good but the cookie was a standout. Like, I tell strangers on the bus about this cookie; it's really THAT good! Please dont tell my grandma, but it was better than her cookies. I dont want to hurt my dear, sweet, grandma's feelings but facts are facts: The cookie was REALLY that good!! Overall, I have always liked Panera BUT the catering manager really went above and beyond my expectations to show that he really cares about people. I never get to eat Panera anymore. Today i ordered a bowl of French Onion soup with $1.19 of extra cheese. This is what i received "the entire ball of onion soup" with 5 pieces is shredded cheese. Covid alert at this location is the reason I'm writing this review. This morning we ordered a coffee and toasted bagel with cream cheese. Got to the car and found it was not toasted, no problem, went back inside and told the cashier it wasn't toast and left my bag on the counter. He spoke Spanish to the ladies in the kitchen. Here's where the problem starts, cashier wears gloves, he takes my bag and maybe touched my bagel as he opened the bag and reached inside, at the same time, FedEx dropped off an envelope on the counter next to the cash drawer. Cashier came back out and grabbed the envelope, so I said to him I want a fresh bagel since you touched it, he said he's only touched the bag but ok to a new bagel! He then spoke Spanish again to instruct the lady to get a fresh bagel but I don't think they gave me a new bag, I stood and watched them but couldn't see if it was a new bag or not since there was a cream cheese and knife in it. He wears gloves to collet money and stuff, he should not be touching any foods or pour the coffee and touching the cups and lids!! This is covid season, the entire bag should have been tossed immediately but they didn't do that (other places has done that in TX). Spoke Spanish the entire time and no apologies, I used to like this location, never again. Update: we lost that bag of bagel at some point, maybe it was meant to be not eaten. read more

I'm at Panera and the girl who took my order did not feel like doing her job. She seemed annoyed at me asking for a second item. Which I specifically asked to be a buttered plain bagel. My device beeps to show my food is ready and it isn't. The girl who is by the computer is absolutely no hep. I ask her where I pick up my frozen drink and bagel and she says go to the cashier. I walk over to the cashier and she says I don't take care of that and point me back to the counter where my food is supposed to be. The lady who sent me to the cashier is now bad mouthing me in Spanish to her coworker, I don't know if she didn't realize I speak fluent Spanish. So I finally get my cold bagel with cream cheese. I go and ask if I can have it buttered and the manager tells me we usually just put the butter on the side, and hands me butter. So now I take my cold bagel and sit down, only to realize I'm dealing with frozen butter. Panera you failed at getting a customer a buttered bagel. PUTS CONTAMINATED ITEMS BACK INTO HOLDER WITH UN CONTAMINATED ITEMS. Rude cashier, very inpatient and was rushing us to complete our orders while we were in the middle of ordering. My family and I had just left an appointment from my oncologist in the hospital down the street. We had coffee in the car in the normal travel paper cups you get in the waiting rooms oh hospitals. As we we're heading home the roads being as pot hole filled that they are were causing all of the cups to spill out. We stopped here to get lunch and as we were walking back out to our car i grabbed a few of those plastic stoppers and extra napkins to clean up what had already spilled. Same cashier saw me grabbing more than she decided was necessary and that they are for customers only. Last I checked I was a paying customer and they're just coffee plug things. At this point I had already had these stoppers in my bare hands for about 2 min because we were arguing and being treated like I was a child. Point of the story is that she snatched all 5 stoppers from my bare hand into her sweaty bare hands and stuffed them back in with the others. Moral of my rant: if you do go to this location and there's a very thin person at the register, ask for someone else or just order online. read more

Delicious eats but the proportions were smaller than expected. Don't get me wrong, it was filling and maybe their own fault for being so delicious I wanted more. I would highly recommend the apple vinaigrette, it really completed the Greek salad. Panera has evolved to deal with customer cross contamination during the COVID19 shelter in place. They now give you a coffee/tea cup in a bag and you take it to the coffee station. The lid and sugar packets are in the clean bag. Well done Panera! I still go every few days for coffee and a bakery item. They've reduced the variety of bakery items for the time being. read more

Overall not bad. We got the family meal and it was enough to feed 3 people with some leftover, namely the baguette. The baguette was wonderful but the chicken noodle soup was a bit salty. The 1/2 sandwiches were filling but the steak as Md cheese sandwich was my favorite. The Cesar salad dressing was a bit bland for my taste. I had the difficult choice of choosing whether to grab lunch at Panera or In-N-Out, and it's usually a no-brainer in favor of the latter. However, I needed the benefit of free WiFi today so Panera won the day. I'm a sucker for the broccoli cheddar bread bowls here and it's more or less the only thing I order at Panera. There were some pros and cons about today's experience. On the bright side, they did a great job with the cut out so there was a lot more soup than normal. However, the bread didn't seem to be as crusty and toasted as it normally is. The sop itself was yummy as usual though and that's my favorite part. They've got a nice big patio outside that's shielded from the traffic in the parking lot, and your dog is welcome to join you. They don't bring your food to you here and instead went with the buzzers, which removes that comforting human element from the experience. I've always liked Panera and during the pandemic Panera became one of my favorite places for curbside pickup. Their breakfast soufflés and breakfast sandwiches are delicious as are their baked goods like their chocolate croissants, bear claws, and pumpkin muffins. My other favorites include the onion soup, Napa almond chicken salad sandwich, and the Greek salad. Last week I went to Panera with visitors from out of town. The service was unbelievable, very surprising. I have challenges with my vision and could not read everything on the board behind the cash register. Since there were no customers in the restaurant, I asked about a few questions and was rudely referred to the blackboard, even after I mentioned that my vision was poor. Walked in and notice the delivery I approach and a white woman cut in front of me and there was a Latin woman getting orders from the people who prepared them. She kindly said to the woman who cut in front of me and ask can I help you with something she helped her. I stood there waiting to be asked that same question but she act as if I wasn't standing there by not saying anything. I then went toward the counter and said excuse me. There was a darker younger latin male with a grey shirt whom I said excuse me to he looked away toward his coworker and pretended not to hear me. The woman who we're preparing the pick up orders then ask can she help me and proceeded to help me but that experience as my first was no we're near good as far as feeling welcome. The extra star was because my lunch was ready. The woman who ended up helping me was sweet afterward but the first impression is everything. I have been coming here once or twice a week to work. My biggest pet peeve is the practices of the staff. When they take their break they watch videos without headphones. I have headphones but their videos are louder than the overhead music so it goes through my Bose noise cancelling headphones. This is such a pet peeve of mine and it seems to happen with the staff at many Panera locations. Another pet peeve is that the staff go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet and use their phone. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 customers just waiting for the staff to exit the stalls. Every Panera I go to has 2 stalls in the woman's bathroom. This Milbrae location is the only one that often has a line and you can see the staff through the door crack on their phones in the stall. So maybe sometimes their long bathroom use is warranted but no way it is warranted each time. It isn't possible that two staff members are having bowl movements at the same time multiple times per day. Also they don't know what light is. I order a turkey sandwich with light Mayo and light mustard. It usually has gobs of both. Why give the customers to customize their menu voices if the staff isn't going to follow directions. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Right now a staff member is watching a telenovela on her phone with the sound so loud it's overpowering everything and she is 4 tables away. Panera management needs to stop this practice. read more

I was told that someone picked my order when I got there. I had placed online. The person in charge didn't even apologize for the inconvenience... She didn't even say if I was going to get another one. I was just standing there and waiting. I finally had to ask the cashier to assist me. She was lacking skills in communication with me and all I got from her was I don't know what to do. What kind of response is that for a customer.... This is really bad service in lacking communication with the customer. I expected more... Although, they guy that finally handed me my order said he apologized for the inconveniences and offer me dessert on the house. However, that wasn't enough, because of the bad experience with them. He told me later he would get a meal on the house for me. Lastly, my sandwich didn't even have the mustard I had asked to be added to the bread. I ended up getting a really dried up sandwich. Therefore, it was tasteless. :( I honestly won't be ordering from there anymore. Unless, they fix their customer service skills and/or provide outstanding service to the customer. read more
