My very first time ever eating anything from Panera Bread. I ended up ordering Mediterranean veggie sandwich and the Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Creamy Tomato Soup. It also came with a pickle. Although the chicken sandwich to me was small. I would order it again because it was really good. The Mediterranean veggie sandwich was okay just wet. Not the biggest fan of wet bread. Finally got to try this place and it leaves much to be desired. They seemed pretty busy in the drive-thru so I decided to dine in. I was flabbergasted at how high the prices are. I just bought two cups of soup and a half grilled mac and cheese sandwich for a whopping 23 bucks. Besides the pricing, the mac and cheese is amazing as well as the turkey chili. It took a while for the food to come out though. I sat there for 25 minutes waiting for the buzzer to go off. The kitchen staff seemed pretty disorganized to say the least. I think the only thing I would come back to get is the dessert so I can go in and out quickly. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. We showed up before 8, yes I know, yucky customer and all, but all we wanted was a pack of bagels to take home and freeze cause I live an 1.5 hours away. We sat by the drive thru for a minute before driving to the window for another couple minutes. I honked, and then finally called in and by the time she answered the phone it was 8 and she refused to help stating they were closed. I literally had already been there 5 min before had they paid attention to anything. I could see the two of them the whole time through the window. If your gonna close before 8, then don't advertise being open. Or let people know you stop serving 30 min before close. read more

This Panera is in a league of its own. I'm on the road non-stop and generally work out of Paneras.. the typical experience is overpaying for mediocre food and, at best, okay service. The WiFi and sip club are really the only things that keep me coming back. Not so with this Panera. I came in and sat down to work on the computer and a lovely lady came over (for lack of better descriptors she is a middle-aged black lady who mentioned she has kids and smiles non-stop) and asked what I would like to order.. not pushy at all but with this genuine "I'll take care of everything for you so you don't have to get up and walk up to the front" attitude. I've been to 150+ Paneras and this was a first. I wasn't ready to order yet and she happily went on her way.. she proceeded to chat up every customer that came in, each leaving with a wide smile on their face. Then Kait came in and it was more of the same. Each customer was warmly greeted and she went way out of her way to help each one individually.. even came over and offered to get me a cup of water. I had already ordered and was just waiting for the food.. she then took my name down and made a personal commitment to come let me know when my food was ready. I got a notification on my phone the order was ready a few minutes later.. and it actually was. Normally it isn't truly ready for 10 minutes or so after the notification comes through. Now as far as the food goes.. should've taken pictures but this wasn't typical Panera food. The sandwiches were full and wholesome, perfectly toasted and the french baguette was fresh (and warm). As far as the ambiance this Panera, again, stood out. While there was music playing it was pretty low.. heard it by the bathrooms but out in the dining area you could have a normal conversation. The atmosphere was very laid back and after listening to a few of the managers chat while eating it's pretty clear the entire team at this location goes above and beyond. The employees are always chatting and laughing behind the counter, albeit discreetly, but as soon as a customer walks in their entire focus shifts to them. ... which brings me to my last point. I can't even remember seeing an employee walking through the dining room to clean tables, yet the dining room was completely clean the entire time. They were subtle in getting the job done. Kudos to management and staff at this location.. as far as I'm concerned you're officially the top Panera in the USA. read more

Love the summer salads, especially the poppyseed & strawberry blend green salad. I like driving up and ordering this to go. However, I don't feel its a good thing to put the small containers of salad dressing INSIDE the salad container with the salad ingredients. Doing this presents a HUGE risk of contamination and is probably not approved by the board of health. Please do not put the salad dressing containers inside the container with the salad its not a good thing to do. read more

If you eat here, do check your food before leaving. I've had many errors to my orders, and when I finally got fed up and complained to a manager I was treated poorly. Instead of offering recompense, I was told that I should know that I had an unusual sandwich. As if I was in the wrong for using the offered sandwich customization tool on their website. Throughout the entire conversation, I felt as if the manager only cared that I was wasting his time, rather than trying to keep my business. I went with my father & his girlfriend who were visiting from Hawaii. We were very excited to go as a family, since we only see each other once a year. Though the staff at the register was very sweet, the cooks apparently didn't care about quality or quantity. We all got sandwiches & soup. All of our soups were ice cold. There was also barely anything on our sandwiches. The bread to filling ratio was hilariously pathetic. The filling (when I could find it) was practically all gristle & entirely inedible. We brought back all of our food to be redone. It was right the second time, but I shouldn't have had to ask. Making a sandwich isn't that difficult, ESPECIALLY ones that only contained two toppings each. Plenty of customers aren't willing to complain, but that doesn't mean the food is good. We've been to Paneras while traveling through many different states over the past few months because it's one of our favorite travel restaurants. We've noticed a decline in food quality and service at many of them, which has been disappointing. Today we visited the Panera in Lafayette and were pleasantly surprised! The employees were very friendly and attentive, the food was fresh and made exactly how we ordered it, and the restaurant was very clean. I went to Panera Bread yesterday to return a loaf of rye bread. I was returning it because it had large seeds in it that got caught in my teeth. The manager Cikledia (sp) proceeded to ask me if I knew that rye bread had seeds in it, and since I knew that rye bread had seeds, she wanted to know why I bought the bread. Actually, this is not correct, as some rye bread is seedless, and as I am sure you know, the seeds may not be visible until you bite into a piece... however, whether it had seeds or not I think is really irrelevant to what happened here. I fail to see why I should be interrogated over my knowledge or lack thereof of whether there are seeds in rye bread for the manager to determine if she is going to refund my $3.91. This whole incident was ridiculous, and I am wondering if it is Panera's policy to question customers over why they are returning a bread to make sure there is a "valid" reason. I used to work in a deli years ago, and if a customer didn't like a product, you cheerfully refunded their money without an argument or a speech, which is what I received yesterday. Needless to say, the service at this Panera sucks, and not only was the manager rude and condescending, the other employees have no clue what to do. This was my first time eating here. It was a Friday evening/night, and this place was practically empty....already a concerning sign. The inside reminded me of a quiet Ryan's buffet restaurant for some reason. Same interior style and everything. I always heard this place was for healthy eaters and I always noticed the food on the commercials didn't look too appetizing (in my opinion)...so I ordered something that sounded like the typical meal that would taste good at any restaurant...the Chicken Pasta, which came out to $9.00 (plus the $2.50 soft drink) = approximately $12.00. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Panera Bread based on the complete LACK of flavor in my dish. The chicken meat in the pasta was "healthy" with "no artificial ingredients or coloring" etc.etc. blah blah blah....we get it. But that lack of flavor and seasoning made me extremely upset with wasting my $12.00 on a meal that tasted IDENTICAL to a Jenny Craig or Walmart microwavable meal. Also, the bread that came with the pasta was nearly as hard as a rock. A friend of mine got the "Pick 2 Deal: Half Turkey Sandwich and Half Salad" which came out to nearly $16.00 (highway robbery) .... Do you know how much $16.00 can buy you at a REAL restaurant???? A lot! And plus he said the sandwich was cold and tasted like the typical sandwich you can make at home! As such, I tried this place out because it is currently "trendy" and whatnot....but I'm not about to waste another $10+ on food that has no flavor or taste. I should have went to Jason's Deli....they sell the same food at the same price, and they actually ADD FLAVOR to their food!!! We always find a Panera on road trips. We've eaten at Panera in many states and different cities and they were great. This is the only one (Lafayette) that we've had a horrible experience with. We asked at the drive through if they had a BLT. They replied yes. Got to the pickup and it was turkey avocado with bacon. Thinking they just made a mistake, we told them we had the wrong sandwich. So the manager came over and informEd us that they don't have BLTs and they can't take the sandwich back. They also forgot our drinks. So, $30 later we have a whole turkey avocado that no one wants. The half turkey avocado/salad we ordered was good. I'm just wondering why they didn't just say, " we don't have a BLT" In the first place. The Employee was sullen and the manager totally unhelpful or understanding It's rare that I leave a comment but this was just a little much. I normally love panera bread and the food was great as usual, but the service was horrible. Sam took our order, charged us for bakery items we didn't get, didn't slice my bread or tell anyone that I had ordered it and was really unfriendly. Then our drinks were made incorrectly and had to be sent back. I asked the manager about the extra charges and only received a refund for one bakery item when we were charged for two because the manager was too busy acting to stop and listen to me.
