Been coming here since I was a little girl. Food is always fresh. Calm welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. My go to is the club royale with a side of broccoli and cheese soup. Jason's always hits the spot. They have THE BEST salad fixins in town. Numerous deli options ensure I never tire of the same items. There are a dozen sandwiches I'd give an excellent review of. I recently tried the Carmela, which exceeded expectations. I recommend the beef eater, muffy, California Club, Club Royale, and the meatball. Paninis are also quite tasty. read more

Person taking my order was multi-tasking and split her attention between me and 2 other customers that made communication confusing and frustrating. When my order came the Mac-n-cheese was stone-cold and watered down. There are no customer service members available in the dining area, so I had to leave my table to bring it to the deli line. The staff are unapologetically apathetic and simply made me stand there and wait 2 minutes for them to nuke the item, during which time my other food items are left unattended and getting cold. This is actually a shame on me for trying 1 more time placing an order online after having my previous orders screwed up 4 times in a row. Called to have a sandwich tray for 10/12 ppl, fruit tray w/dip, chips and some gingerbread muffins delivered to a family who lost a loved one, I felt the cost was a bit more on the higher side than we pay in a major metropolitan city. The person taking the order was extremely nice, but when asking me if I wanted to leave a tip didn't tell me there was a delivery charge already included so I way overtipped. For sandwiches of turkey, a couple roast beef, chicken and tuna salads, chips, gingerbread mini muffins (24) it came out to +/- $18-20 a person. The salad bar is among the best I've ever had and I don't typically give salads in restaurants the time of day. Not a lot of fluff, all good stuff with pastas, marinated toppings, cheeses, etc. And at the end of it all, you can throw down multiple soft-serve cones, if you so desire. Jason's Deli, you need to up your baked potato game, both in taste and appearance. I just ordered one about an hour ago. It was cold. The melted, stringy, oily plastic-like cheese substance covered the potato like a thick skin. I found a small dab of sour cream on one side and large chunks of dry potato. I've been doing Nutrisystem so it's hard to eat out and stick to the plan, but the salad bar here is great for it. Since I can have all the vegetables I want, I can I can get most of the things on the salad bar. The bar is constantly being checked and refilled so everything is pretty fresh. For salad, I highly recommended this location. My friends seem to like the deli stuff, so if salad isn't your thing there is probably something for you too. read more

Great, healthy food. Always quick & easy for lunch on a busy day. Last time, I picked up to-go food, the manager greeted me warmly, brought my bagged food out to me without the counter in between us, and then opened the door for me. My favorite is the nutty mixed up salad. read more

Overall, probably not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, but then again I was feeling pretty terrible when I ate here (thus my judgment is perhaps unreliable). Not much to report because I remember very little other than sitting outside hacking up a lung (when will I stop being sick?!) and dropping a glass bottle of tea when we left. Which, needless to say, was awesome. As was cleaning up broken glass. Whining aside, here are some arguably useful details. This place is a chain. I know there's at least one in Lafayette and one in Baton Rouge, and I suspect there are additional locations. The hummus is gross. Don't order it. The French Onion soup, however, is absolutely delicious. Seriously, I think, the best I've ever had. Once again, I was deathly ill and badly in need of soup at the time, which may have impacted my ability to make rational judgments. Hmm Jason's Deli... a different take on what I know to be a deli, having been raised in one in NY. The guys who started this joint, which now has about 100 locations are from Beaumont, TX. To their credit, they've managed to deliver consistent quality from location to location, whether you're eating at one in Dallas, Houston, Boca Raton or Lafayette, LA... and I've eaten at Jason's in all or these cities... and then some. Jason's does a lot of things well. Their salad bar is very good, has a bunch of fresh and unique items on it, and is worth the $7.50 or so that they get for it. Some of the soups are quite good as well. The chicken chili soup and french onion are delicious and reasonably priced. Where Jason's falters is in the sandwich area. Their corned beef and pastrami does not measure up. The meat. and the bread are all lackluster, and do not do justice to this superior Jewish specialty. I give Jason's a sold three stars.. 3.5 if Yelp had 1/2 stars. read more

Inconsistent, but generally satisfactory. Sometimes they get the orders a little off, but the employees seem to be good natured for the most part -- so I try not to give them a hard time. Today my baked potato was missing chives, not the end of the world. Another time, they put chicken on a salad that was for a vegeterian... We specifically said "No chicken". Had to have it replaced. Two nights ago we asked for take out but the food was served for dine in. We said nothing, just ate it. Nothing huge, just inconsistent service. Young people who often pay too little attention, etc. Food is alright though, and none of the issues bother me enough to deter me from eating there. I absolutely love Jason's Deli. I love that there's something to eat for everyone there, like whether or not you're on a diet and whoever is with isn't, both of you are going to leave satisfied. I love how they include nutrition information for every item, as well as have plenty options for vegetarians that aren't just salads. I'm a returning customer for their salad bar. The items never look old and always taste nice, fresh and crisp. The staff has alwaysssss been friendly and helpful with me and my kids. I'm always ordering the togo salad bar and my little girl is a screamer. They have never made me feel guilty but they have always helped cheer her up while im in a hurry to load the salad containers. My husband likes their loaded spuds. Theyre super loaded! My favorite soups are their tomato soup and french onion soup..YUMMM.. I fell in love with Jason's Deli when I had to evacuate to Jackson TN for a hurricane. They delivered to the hotel & I think I ate from there every other day. My wife & I were in Laffeyette to grab some boudin. Smoked boudin from Billy's in case you are wondering. I remembered there was a Jason's here so we stopped in. We both got half a sandwich with soup. I LOVE the chicken pot pie soup & that delightful little piece of flaky buttery bread that comes with it. My wife got the tortilla soup. We each got half a sandwich , mine was my fave...the Rueben & hers was a French dip type that came with a side of au jus. I raided the salad bar for as many of those fantastic pickle spears as I could eat. Gotta have a piece with every bite of my sammich don't ya know! The 2 reasons I am giving this 4 stars & not 5 is that the bread was so toasted and crunchy that I literally scrapped the sides of my mouth/lips & they still hurt for 2 days. Second, both of our soups were not hot at all. That drives me insane. But we will still go back, and I'll make sure to ask for HOT soup. Ok so in my opinion 10 per person for a salad bar is a bit high. I think maybe 6-7.5 range would be more appropriate. however if your craving a salad and your Leary about buffet's (as I am) this place really is good.
