Panera- did you change your bakers? The bread was dry and bland, the cherry danish was very dry and crumbly, and the super delicious bear claw has been replaced by a mediocre "almond pastry." I'm so disappointed. Also, the melted cheese on the chicken Romano bagel had a weird electric griddle flavor. Otherwise, the restaurant is clean, the service is good, and the staff are very friendly. Worst Panera location I've ever dealt with. Not sure how it's ran during the daytime. But during late evening hours it's a crew of teenagers who show no respect to customers. But after speaking with Mgr. Les I see why the children had the nonchalant attitude and lack of respect they had towards customers. If an adult needs to go through training again regarding serving customers with food allergies and treats the customer as if they are wrong for bringing awareness to an issue, of course the minors will follow in suit. Push back on remaking an item that instructed not to have cheese and somehow they forgot the protein. The other salad had two missing ingredients (none of which were additions or substitutes) and every side item in the 3 person order was incorrect. 20 mins to only correct the food allergy order but that was because the teenagers were too busy hiding in the drive thru area trying to avoid another customer who was almost in tears who was trying to verify if pork was used as an ingredient (religious beliefs) . Came to this location for lunch and ordered a Turkey Avocado BLT (the only sandwich I ever get because I love avocado) was disappointed when I bit into it and realized that not only was the avocado not ripe, but was also partially unpeeled. My brother went back to the pick up counter and asked if he could just get some new slices of avocado that was actually ripe to which the girl replied "oh. We don't have more avocado." The soup tasted weird. I have learned about Panera through my daughter's friend, who works for Panera, that the food is GMO free, cage free, fresh and etc. However, the soup tasted weird. I said it already. It tasted like a soup prepared with fake cheese and old broccoli. The salad, on the other hand, was good; the lettuce leaves were crunchy, the dressing was rich but never paling, and the combination of veggies with the chicken was extremely fresh to my palate. When I enter a bathroom that has a sign reminding the employees to wash their hands before going back to the kitchen, and I find the soap mixed with water, I never come back. Although Panera is a chain restaurant they are good. Their fresh baked bread and pastries are always fresh and taste wonderful. If you order bread or bagels they can slice them for you, just let them know. They have a nice menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. All made to order while you wait. Although they don't offer table service they have staff walking around to assist with any questions or just to clear your dishes for you. Definitely worth the stop. read more

The Panera in Hagerstown is constantly running out of the baked goods (bagels, breads, etc) they are supposed to have for sale. They apparently do not bake throughout the day so if you go at 3:00 in the afternoon you're lucky if anything is left, which kills me because they are open to what, 7 or 8 at night? I don't recommend this establishment if your African American. They are very micro aggressive and don't greet African American customers like they do others. they also lack diversity in their establishment as at least 90% of their employees are white. Which tells me they either choose not to hire minority employees or their clear micro aggressive behavior towards minorities prevent them from applying. They don't enforce mask regulations when it comes to Caucasian people as I have personally witnessed some of them come into this particular establishment without mask on and no one says a word. . I would also suggest that you check your bank statement when getting food from this establishment because they have a tendency to double charge your card. read more

Awesome location, food is prepared right, and you can usually find a clean table even though this restaurant routinely breaks sales records for the company per the manager. You often see people hanging out beyond their snack/meal because of the jazz music filled ambience and the free wi-fi. There is also a nice sized outdoor patio, although you will have to contend with people walking through as they enter and exit the restaurant since it is situated on the main sidewalk area in front of the restaurant. In the summertime don't miss their strawberry yogurt smoothies and their raspberry mango iced blenders. read more

Pastries, Brownies & Blondie's, Cookies, Cakes ~ LOVE the Chocolate pastry and shortbread. This place is perfect for picking up items for the office, either breakfast or bakery items. The staff are always friendly and even when they are packed their smiling and the food still comes out fast! YEAH for outside tables and FREE wifi! GREAT webs site for everything you need! Except coupons, where are the coupons EVERYONE loves especially in this economic time? One last thing and the ONLY thing that drives me CRAZY! I drink water, lots and lots of water and they give me a TEENY TINY plastic shot glass size cup for me to refill a million times through my meal, which is why I don't go there as often as I would like. I enjoy Panera and it was nice to find one right off 81 South on our way back home to North Carolina. It sure beat getting yet another fast food burger. It's conveniently located a little ways off the exit kind of in front of a mall. The parking lot was easy to get in and out of, and even though we arrived at noon for the lunch rush the service was still quick. I stuck with my broccoli soup which was as good as ever. I did try something new and went for the turkey and avocado blt. I was not a huge fan of the sandwich as the sourdough bread it comes on is very crumbly, so my sandwich kept falling apart. I was also a little sad that it wasn't served hot, so not only was the bread not toasted or turkey hot, but I also had to deal with cold, chewy, tough bacon, which was very lame. The avocado slices were fresh and added a nice creaminess to the sandwich. Overall this particular location was pretty good, and since we got there around lunch time coming from New York I'm sure we will remember this location for our next return trip. I'll just make sure I avoid that nasty blt in the future. read more

I called and they were able to refund me so that I could order the food again! One of the workers wrote a little note on the receipt apologizing about the last order that didn't make it to me. I love going to Panera with my team- I roll in with 25 people and we sit and dine in under and hour. I try to make things as easy as possible, splitting the order and paying at three different registers to we keep it movin' sister. The only thing I'll always find strange- is that the food that is ordered last comes out first so the kids who order at the beginning...are always left standing.
