    Peach cobbler with the funk
    Daniel Y.

So I've run across this mission bbq in a few different areas but never got to try it out . This evening was different since they were in the plaza next to the hotel I'm staying. Actually when out to dinner at another restaurant but was still hungry so I ordered up some bbq. I noticed on the site that they was closing up at 9:00 pm and the left me 30mins to order and go pick it up. Called in a 5 piece St.Louis ribs with a peach cobbler, drink and I added a brisket sandwich. You have a option of wet or dry. I thought it meant sauce or no sauce but it was if you want dry meat or moist meat. Of course I chose the moist brisket. Walked over picked up my order got back to the hotel I unpack the order to find my ribs was not the St. Louis ribs but baby back and cold. Called back to notify the wrong order and the employee apologized for the mistake and I I want to bring it back they will correct the mistake, which would've been fine if I had the luxury of time. Since it is 3 minutes to 9:00 and they close at 9 and I had to be on a conference call at the same time I was not able to go back and asked if the could just run it by the hotel and they would not accommodate. So they offered to credit me for the wrong ribs. I haven't been able to check to see if in fact they actually credited by account. The ribs were cold as I've stated but the meat was falling off the bones tender. Not a fan of the baby back, the brisket sandwich caught me by surprise. I realize what they really meant by dry or moist. Moist is when the put fatty ends in the sandwich so when you bite into the sandwich you'll get mouthful of fat. That's the moist! I was eating a major heart attack sandwich. I alway trim away the fat around the meats I eat to cut the the fat intake and this sandwich had enough fat intake for a whole year. So that was a 1 bite and done for me and on to the peach cobbler. As I was bringing a spoonful towards my mouth I caught a whiff that caught me by surprise. I stopped the motion towards my mouth and I took a whiff of the cobbler and the stink from the cobbler was foul! I smelted like someone used their sweaty stinking feet to make the cobbler. All in all I just had a bad experience here. Honestly they should credit me for the whole tab.

Out here in Hagerstown, Maryland. I gotta say if you have the opportunity to be out here. Make Mission BBQ one of your stops!!!! As you walk in you will be proud of the layout very patriotic. It has a welcoming effect as soon as you walk in the restaurant . Staff is very friendly and very helpful with the menu. As a first time visitor. I needed a little bit of help and now I'm very pleased with what I was served!!! The food and sauces are delicious as you can see by my pics, but I gotta tell you man I love the decor its amazing a well deserved salute to our troops. This place can definitely become a franchise and honestly our country could use it!!

Prime rib, side salad, and ranch dressing (YUM!)

I ordered both the shawarma wrap and the beef kebab wrap. Both were good, filling, and hit the spot, especially when you're craving something quick and satisfying. We sat on a stone ledge to enjoy our meal when a police officer parked nearby. He sniffed and smiled and said "Ah, Whistle Punk. Nice sandwich. But you want to know the best beef here?" We did, and he pointed in the direction of Keep It Smokin' B.B.Q. He said their their pit beef was excellent but their pit pork was even better. I love recommendations from someone who knows, and his was spot on. We wandered over and watched the operation for a few minutes. The owner offered us a taste of the beef; it was charcoal-charred, really juicy, tender, and rubbed with a pepper-forward spice. It was incredible - easily one of the top three I've tasted anywhere. Ah, but then he offered tastes of pit pork loin, crunchy exterior yet dripping with juices. I've eaten a boatload of Philly Pork sandwiches but this, this, THIS made them all taste like charcoal. Neither one needed onions or tiger sauce or BBQ sauce or anything other than delicious meat. Their prices and portions were reasonable. My only complaint is that their truck doesn't come to my county so I'm gonna have to drive to them - and I will. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. Had no flavor. Like at all. 1 out of 5. Only saving grace was that a) it was edible and b) the bun was soft. The side of fries was waaaay too salty. Husband ordered 6 old bay wings. He only got 5 and they were all drums. He didn't bother complaining because he said he wouldn't be able to eat 6 anyway. Only had a little old bay on them, but they were nice and crunchy. All in all, I was excited to try The Grain Table, but can say my first impression is that I'm not a fan. Don't see a need to return for the food, that's for sure. Would think that with an entire menu overhaul and social media rollout to get people to come in, the food would meet expectations. Side note, (and not just because I'm disappointed with the food) as I said this the other day when I read it, "The Grain Table" brings to mind crunchy, granola, some might say "healthy" food. The menu does not meet that name by a long shot. The menu is pizza, burgers, wings, chicken sandos, ribs- as you read it, elevated pub food.
