    Dry lamb shawarma :(
    Jai J.

Update 2026: came back for great food, but the lamb was extremely dry and chewy this time. I had the lamb shawarma wrap. My companion had lamb and chicken salad bowl, and they did love their food. They agreed the lamb was "chewy". I think the issue was the fact that they shave the meat and store in a warmer bin instead shaving to order and keeping it moist on the spit/rotisserie (if that is what it is called). It is still the most healthy and flavorful option.

Discovered Hummus on a whim. I crave a great Mediterranean or shawarma meal every now and then. As much as I enjoy a Cava, there's just nothing like that in our area. So when I saw Hummus, I was eager to try. They did not disappoint! The meats are very flavorful. You have a plethora of choices to top your meal. Everything is fresh. And they pack the bowls pretty well. The staff are very friendly. I heard them even be very patient with an older white woman who never had Mediterranean food before, explained all the proteins, sides, sauces, etc. God bless her. It's a small place with very little seating but they're very busy (a lot of takeout orders). Give it a try if you're in the Hagerstown area. Worth the stop!

I cannot lie... I love this place. The food is always amazing and fresh. The workers always have a smile on their face. It never takes long to get my food. The inside is quite quaint but everything is delicious nonetheless.

Create your own wrap with both chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma. Very good.

I'm so glad I got to try this gem during my visit to Maryland. As others have mentioned this is like a Mediterranean chipotle, but so much better. The staff members provide excellent customer service and big smiles, which is always nice to see. There are a few tables inside and they keep everything clean. The food is everything you could ever want out of Mediterranean and I love that they're halal. I tried - Create your own wrap - I got the Lamb Shawarma and Chicken Shawarma for an uncharge. I got pretty much all of the toppings (hummus, cucumbers, couscous, tomatoes, tabbouleh, pickled cabbage, turnips, pickled onions, feta, baba ganoush,) and they were so generous with everything. I topped it with spicy garlic and tahini sauces. This was bursting with flavor. Both Shawarmas were so fresh and juicy. The combination of flavors were awesome. 5/5 ($17.49) I also tried their chocolate temptation cake which was so good. My aunt ordered the build your own bowl with pretty much the same ingredients as my wrap and it was awesome as well.. luckily I got to keep her left overs and had them the following day. This place is awesome. I will be visiting my family in Maryland next year and I know I will be coming straight here. I love delicious yet clean eating and this spot is exactly that... wish they'd open one back home!

Ordered the shawarma fries and baklava for the first time. Heard great reviews of both. I spent over $5 for a sample size of baklava?? Not going back.

I can't believe I haven't left a review for this delicious place yet. I ordered a bowl and wow it was unexpectedly loaded ! Easily enough for two meals. Everything was so fresh, flavorful and exactly what I wanted. Mediterranean places are so easy to veganize with their assortment of veggies and falafel. They had so many vegan toppings to add to the bowl like baba ghanoush, all sorts of pickled veggies, Tabbouleh and chickpea salad.. more than most quick serve Mediterranean places I've been too. I ordered online and had no issues with pick up.

Pretty good, not too expensive and quick. Will try it again. Fresh too. Did not look like it had been sitting out.

This was Tulip Grill before so I don't know what it looks like now since the hubby picked up our order. Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. They notified my hubby that they needed 5 more minutes to get all our order cooked, and put together. Minor comment- though I like the flavor both green and tamarind sauces were a little thin. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter.

Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway.

I also got an extra garlic sauce on the side... just love. Until next time.

It's a small mart that specializes in middle eastern Mediterranean cuisine and ingredients. They place does not have seating inside, but plenty of seating outside. So plan on either take out or picnicking. They make the food right as you order so things are fresh. The part I really liked about this place was that the sauces were not overly salted - to increase shelf life - and the amount of oil/butter was not overly used to try to mask the ingredients. It's more on the "let the ingredients speak for itself" which I really dig. In the end, you don't feel heavy after the meal and you feel like you had a hearty and healthy meal. My favorite was the lamb shawarma. He toasts the outside pita and it gives it a nice crunch. The lamb is fresher than other places and he doesn't over season it to hide the lamb smell. Other places - if you notice - tends to use cumin a lot of mask the lamb smell. Not here though. The falafel sandwich was okay. It was colder than the lamb shawarma. But the falafels were made right there in front of you. I got the sujuk sandwich too (which is a type of sausage). It was a breakfast burrito basically. Our order took 20 mins to make and he makes it right when you order. So be prepared to stay there and peruse around. Some ingredients there were interesting. The one thing that caught my eye was a bottle of pomegranate molasses. He sells it close to 50% what Harris Teeter would charge and he has various brands of pomegranate molasses. I use pomegranate molasses to make grenadine for cocktails. Also has orange blossom and rose water (also both used for cocktails) I like this place and the guy is nice and sweet.

Whats more sad is that I paid $15 for something that isn't at all as advertised. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Salad as I love grilled meat. Never have I had souvlaki in over a dozen voyages to Greece that was wet boiled or microwaved, as this chicken seemed to be. Souvlaki are grilled skewers. This place should NOT sell the pile of bland, blond, wet chicken breast as "souvlaki." The "Greek" salad was sad. No other way to describe it. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) but the feta was meager and there were no onions. The tzatziki was more akin to ranch dressing (not made with yogurt- real Greek yogurt would hold a spoon standing in it. This was almost liquid.) ) and the pita was a doughy, cheap substitute. Their listing says fresh bread, and this pita was not so much. The owner seems nice and personable, and I wish him well but I also wish he would pay more attention to the product he delivers, especially if they call it, Greek. UPDATE from owners rebuttal: I write fair reviews as I experience the food. The issue is not whether you have fresh ingredients or quality chicken: it is clearly stated what you served was just not souvlaki in anyway, it was wet sautéed chicken and that was not traditional tzatziki. It was tzatziki-like sauce. Period. If you go to a pizza place to buy a pizza and you get high quality toasted bread with excellent tomato sauce and good mozzarella- it's still not a pizza, no matter the quality, and you shouldn't call it a pizza. I don't deny you are Greek, proud or otherwise, just serve what you advertise. Good luck to you too!
