Panera Bread in Georgetown on University Ave. opened on Friday the 21st, so I've actually stopped by every day at the drive-through and tried various items every day since, as honestly I've never eaten at Panera before now. Drive-thru lines were short, service was great each time, staff was courteous and accommodating, and wait times for food was about 6-8 minutes, which is not bad at all for prepared food. The Asiago Steak sandwich was a nice sandwich with lots of seared steak and with a great sauce, although the steak was a bit tough (thick) and made biting the sandwich not enjoyable. I asked at later visit and Mgr. stated that maybe steak wasn't fluffed just right when added to sandwich to ensure tender bite. Mgr. seemed conscientious and involved, so that's nice. Italian Combo has great ingredients and is a sandwich I can eat often. (twice already) The bread is like a very good Italian bread that I've purchased and have made before when making a Muffaletta, having not an egg-shell flaky crust like French Bread, but a firmer bread that holds up to the ingredients, and a crust that tears easily with a bite. The Soup and Sandwich deal is great for lunch, I'd get the whole sandwich because it's huge and you'll want the second half later, if not sooner. Others had the Roast Turkey Avocado Bacon BLT, which comes on large white bread and was also great, based on the silence at the table. I had the Seasonal Hibiscus Iced Tea yesterday and the Mango Iced Tea today, and both were excellent unsweetened. I'm looking forward to trying more of the other menu items over the next few weeks. I prepare many similar items at home, but it's convenient with school starting, so that'll likely ensure frequent dining here, when there's no time to cook or sit down at a restaurant. read more

I used to be a big fan of Panera, but today I no longer am. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken, specifically because I wanted some protein in my salad. The largest piece of chicken was about 1-inch square, and thinly sliced. All the remaining chicken was in little "chips" about .25 inch in size. So disappointing. The salad was also offered without chicken, and I would have done as well to have ordered that. At least the vegetables were fresh. I won't be back. read more

Went for late lunch and wished we went elsewhere. Menu is deceiving. When ordering 2 item special the price listed is only for that 1 item . So if you're planing on a combo it will cost about $16. So my wife had salad w/chicken and a sandwich and I had something similar with 2 teas. Price right under $40. Not a good value. The chicken used was cold frozen cold with ice thru chicken. Reported to mgr. He seemed not concerned but offered to remake order. We declined as we already waited 20 minutes for the our order. This USED to be my favorite carry out lunch food for groups that met at my house. However, the service today ruined my party because the order was not filled correctly. They left out a 1/2 Ranch Cobb Salad from a Pick 2. They left out a full bowl of Autumn Squash Soup. There were 4 Tomato Basil BLT sandwiches that did not have any basil on them(they threw in a few pieces of spring salad greens instead) and the bacon was cold, tough and too thick to bite into comfortably. The baguette breads were thrown into the bottom of the soup and sandwich bag and were not in any separate bag or container. The soups and sandwiches were piled on top of the loose bread. To add insult to injury, when I called the phone number on their local listing their phone number does not work! My party has just finished up and I will be driving up to Panera to get a refund for the missing items from my order. They gladly collected my $70.95( including a 20% tip), and for that I expect MORE from this company. In short, they can do better! read more

I would never recommend this location. Twice I have ordered curbside pickup and have had to wait a ridiculous amount of time on both occasions. The first time I ended up going in to get the order and it was short an order of soup. They were not at all helpful about this. My order arrived promptly thanks to Door Dash. My complaint is that I ordered iced tea and iced coffee was delivered. This has happened at least two other times. This particular location does not care about quality, especially when you go through drive through or order delivery. You get what you get sucker. The Panera is the worst Panera I've ever been to the drive through is usual closed and when it's not it's a 30 minute wait at the window you order your food. I go up to the window and there's 5-6 people standing around talking and no doing any work. Management needs to get a grip on there staff or hire new staff. I always say you get what you pay for. Panera is a little higher quality food as far as fast food goes, but the price also reflects that. I was not satisfied with this location due to the fact that I arrived a little before noon on the weekend and ordered half of a flat bread sandwich. I was then told they were out of flatbreads for the day and I would need to choose something else. How does a fast food restaurant, with quite a few flat bread options on the menu, run out of flatbread before noon? Was there a flatbread party before I arrived? The only place in town that sells food that doesn't upset the stomachs of my family members with food sensitivities--if it's not a mind trick, that tells me they must have better ingredients than most. A bit pricey, but decent selection of food. The pick two helps with indecision, and the seasonal soups are decent. The only place I know to get a butternut squash soup when autumn comes around, and the steak and arugula sandwich is my usual go-to tasty grub. If you like chillin' with your computer and your startup business buddy or study for that upcoming midterm in a public setting, they've got decent seating and free WiFi. Have a latte and work away! And a final note: when I get the meal and they ask if I want bread or chips, I always ask for bread, but I ask if they have an end piece, and they're always accommodating of my weird bread request. Well honestly it appears there are a lot of crybabies or ringers commenting on this location. I have been to a few locations from San Antone to Montgomery Ala. this was my first visit to the Georgetown location. The young lady taking my order was pleasant and got the order right. 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich. Apple chicken pecans salad was very good with very fresh salad stuff and tender chicken. The turkey avocado blt was good. The only draw back was the lettuce was a little wet causing a few bread spots to be soggy. I got the frozen strawberry lemonade, very tasty. Great experience ! This Panera is consistently bad. I have gone several times and have noticed that the service is consistently sub par. One time I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The cashier didn't say anything about them being out of cream cheese. When my bagel came without cream cheese, they refused to give me a refund. On another occasion, I found multiple hairs in my salad and there was crusted food stuck to my fork. When I asked for a different fork, the woman working held it up into the light as if to check to make sure I wasn't lying about the fork being dirty. They also refused to fix the salad. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. This place sucks and is overpriced for what you get. The Panera in North Round Rock is pretty good! read more

I would give this zero stars if I could. Tonight I ordered a sandwich and two bagels sliced with chive and onion cream cheese. They never ask for you phone number any longer. The staff could care less and appear as though they are there for a paycheck. Where is their manager? When I order dinner online for pick-up, I'm usually on my way home from work. I think tonight may have been the last time (for Georgetown location)... maybe. Panera is one of my favorite chain FF restaurants, but at the Georgetown location my take-out orders have an issue Every Single Time. Usually there is a baguette missing - not enough to complain. However tonight none of the bread or chips were in our order & the stuff I asked to be put on the side wasn't. Panera isn't low price & as much as we pay - it's frustrating that the only consistent aspect is the orders aren't accurate, especially when there are check marks showing someone checked the order. I wish I could give negative stars. Second time I've been to this location, and second time they forgot items I ordered. This time I called because they forgot a milk and chips with my order. Associate who answered was short and unhelpful. She put me on hold without telling me. Then manager answers and was VERY rude. Told me I only ordered one milk and said I forgot my chips. I went through the drive through!!!! How would I forget anything. Then she argued with me some more and was very short and finally told me she would refund me and to come in. Mind you I already told her I had 3 kids with me under 5 and can't just "come in". Finally she said I was being rude and she would just refund me next time I came through that my name is in the book. OMG avoid. I just flew in to visit my parents and we stopped here tonight, on a random Wednesday evening at 8pm. There were literally 5 people eating in the dining room, I order a half sandwich and soup, to go. Mom and I sit in the dining room at a 2-top to wait. We were given a receipt, but no buzzy thing. 15 minutes later, the 1 person who walked in after us, walked out with food. What? The girl at the counter sees us. She knows we're waiting, she took our money. Finally, we see 2 more employees come out and clean tables, one girl and one guy. We mention that they can clean our table, we're just waiting for food to go. "Oh, are you Cathy? I called you three times". Mom and I got back to the "pick up kitchen window" and yeah-we definitely never would have heard her. How hard would have been for these kids (I say kids but they were in their early 20s) to come out and look for us? Omg. I mention this, and get blank stares. Like, oh- yeah. Seriously? Terrible, terrible service. Finally we get home and my baguette looked like someone took a bite out of it. No really, this is what it looked like. Eh. These folks need some time to work out the kinks. The girls behind the register didn't know and couldn;t answer questions about several menu items (to the folks in from of us). We ordered and about 5 minutes later the girl comes by and says they are out of the mediterranean veggie sandwich... what else did I want? Me: um I didnt order that? Her: oh.. what did you order? (we both grab receipt) that's what she put on the receipt. me: I ordered the Mediterranean chicken salad - her: ohok, we'll i'll be right bk. All was good and they brought me the right stuff. but... could have been worse. Very light, very flavorful (tasted way better than it looked) SOUP: we both ordered broc.cheddar soup with the pick 2 combo. very good. Love this place! And my 10 year old kid is obsessed! Lots of options. We always do the pick 2. She gets a 1/2 sandwich & soup, I get salad & soup. Always different things to try. Serving sizes are plentiful. Great service! Always clean and classy. We have started using the app to order ahead to. All you have to do then is walk in and grab it. The person at the register had no idea whether Panera Bread Georgetown had Decaf coffee - she went to the back to get a cup of decaf while I paid. When she returned, she said they had no decaf. I asked for a different hot drink and wanted to pay cash -- she could not tell me what the cost difference was and gave me change for the amount I paid already from the $10 given to cover the difference - no receipt - I said several times this was too confusing and she assured it wasn't. I walked away and she brought money to the table and dropped the money on the table. I asked to speak to the manager and he was not helpful except to offer to give me back the $3 tip I had given to a team of people who feel it is ok to treat people poorly. The girl at the register gets away with not knowing anything about where she works and can't tell a customer how much anything costs and the manager gets away doing nothing to improve service recovery. The sign on the wall says there are two sizes of hot drinks, the person at the register said they only sold one size. How does this make sense? I will not be back. Won't give a tip with a card again trusting that a company has competent staff - I learned today that I was too trusting. I was so upset I could not eat the meal either. What a waste. I ordered a 4:00 pm curbside pick-up Mediterranean Bowl which was not ready when I pulled up and clicked the "I'm here" button on my phone. After waiting in the parking lot for at least 5 minutes more with my flashers on, watching 2 different employees in headsets come out in the parking lot and go get things out of their cars and return back inside without acknowledging my "flashing" presence, I went inside to pick it up. It wasn't ready. So, maybe they hastily put it together because there was NO hummus. The receipt has a line for "Order Checked By ____" but it was not signed or initialed.
