After four years, time for an update. TBT, I've not been here many times in the last 4 years. I try to stay focused on the local owned and operated business but I make exceptions. This is one of the few places near me that opens early and I was jonesing for a toasted bagel and they have several choices go bagel types and toppings. I was looking forward to sitting on the patio and enjoying the fire and the warmth of the overhead heaters but unfortunately that was not happening. When I placed my order, I asked the lady at the check-in and she said there was a part that was ordered that had not been delivered/installed. I sat inside and had a toasted everything bagel with the light honey walnut cream cheese. It was very quiet at 7am on a Sunday morning, there were maybe 4 other people there. They have changed/upgraded their menu so a lot happens in 4 years. I really like all their healthy options especially their soups and salads. You can order ahead with their app and pick-up at the drive-thru or park come inside and pick-up at the rapid pick-up window. Having options is a good thing and this place gives you several. When the weather is nice, the screened-in patio is great. You have several large community types tables as well as several large booths. read more

The minuscule amounts of food you get for the price is a polling. The employees service they don't seem to really care anymore.. and first the ambience goes people almost look like they don't wanna be there. They're almost embarrassed to being there. The sandwiches appear to now just be flavored with the ingredients you hoped were in the middle. This location has never been great, but on top of the sandwiches being lousy, one sandwich was missing from my to go order this evening. Always a crowd pleaser, especially for the person that now gets an apple and watches others eat flavored bread. The only reason this received 2 stars is because of the soup, which they do not make in house at any location - it is made by Blount Foods in MA. Stopped for a quick bite here and we both had salads. My Chicken Caesar was good. A full size salad with a decent amount of sliced chicken on top, not too much dressing. Fortunately, the croutons were on top and easy to move to the side so that I could stick with my keto diet. The restaurant is super busy but I like that you can order from a kiosk and not have to wait in line. Tables inside and outside. The fireplace was a nice touch as today was a very chilly day. I was so glad to see a Panera Bread pop up in Fort Mill. I'm not fond of the layout of this one, seems cramped and feel like they could have done a better job with the space. Nothing against this Panera, but I went back recently and am starting to really dislike Panera. Prices have gone up and portion sizes/quality have gone down. I came here two days in a row. First time was great. I got the steak panini. It had onions and horseradish sauce on it. It was delicious. I also got the corn chowder. It was good and spicy and had a kick to it. Second time I got the chicken panini, it didn't have panini bread on it but that's ok. The bread was slightly burnt. I also got the chicken and wild rice soup. My only issue with this location and it could be all locations was that we called for a to go order and they told us we had to do it online. Ugh, annoying. We went online to do it and had some questions so we had to call the restaurant back and ask our questions. Time consuming. My other issue is when we ordered the second time, right when we were about to pay, it informed us that an item wasn't available. I get that the online concept might be quicker but sometimes when you are on the go it's hard to do. I hope they would reconsider taking orders by phone. read more

I suppose this is more indicative of Panera in general, vs this location, but I feel like this is my last visit. I am a long time customer and Panera has been my go to for fresh, health(ier) food for 15 years or more. I just hardly recognize the Panera experience anymore. The menu has changed so much and all the old favorites are gone (RIP Thai Chicken Salad). Seems like meat on anything is now an upcharge. No more .99 cent bakery item with a pick two and drink. The bakery case is just sad these days - a few cookies and one or two dried up pastries. Asking for a tip at the register when I know I'm going to be picking up my own food and bussing my own table? Serious side eye for that. The real insult is how darn expensive Panera is now. Our meal for two tonight was right at $30. That was two Pick Twos with cold half sandwiches (on bread that's way thinner than it used to be) and soups, two drinks and a no longer .99 brownie. $30!!! I order delivery from this location close to weekly. I love the Roasted Turkey Avacado BLT and the Frozen Cold Brew Caramel Coffee. I usually add a pastry too. Well, tried ordering today from their app and kept getting a "Something went wrong. Try again later." message. This went on for 45 minutes. I finally called the restaurant and the girl who answered said sometimes they have connection problems. I asked if I could place the order by phone and she said they didn't have that capability. So I said I guessed I'd have to try again another day. Her response was, "OK, bye.". No apology for the issue, no concern for the problem or my disappointment. I am now less than enthusiastic about this location. I realize staffing is an issue in this time of Covid, but staff attitude goes a long way towards the reputation of any company. read more

I went there today and had the SAME EXACT ISSUE! Learn to make food correctly. I even called the manager to find out what goes on the sandwich. They didn't know. My order was not delivered. i had put an online order from the Panera app for a food to be delivered at 7:15 pm. I had to go out but i got the status on the app that the food was delivered. My wife later called and asked when will the food be delivered. So I called the store (at 7:47pm) and the manger confirmed he will redo the order and get it delivered. I was outside for an hour with no access to phone and later found out that the manager James, called the Doordash driver and confirmed that the food was delivered. So he cross checked if I was lying. He then did not process the order and left me a voice message (8:03pm). When my wife called after few mins to check on the order status, he said unfortunately they can not reprocess the order as it was 10 mins to close. My wife and two kids were kept hungry from 7 to 9 pm. What will I do with the money returned. Does refunding makes up for the wait? This is my last order with Panera and me nor any of my family member will ever order from Panera. I will delete the app from my phone. Creating a fancy app does not help if your employees do not understand customer service. Creating a good menu does not help if the food is never delivered. You need to understand, I was Panera's customer and not Doordash. How can you believe on a Doordash driver and not confirm with your customer. Further even if you had 10 mins to cook, you should be asking your customer what can you do and not just refund. The store managers need better training on what customer service means and not just clock their hours. Seriously I am so frustrated today specially hearing that both my kids went to bed without having a proper dinner. They kept waiting for their food for more than 2 hours. read more

Love this place. My go to is the bacon, scrambled egg on ciabatta bread. My husband got egg white, spinach, and avocado on sprouted bread with a large coffee. Food is always tasty and fresh. Ample seating if you want to sit and eat. Love the kiosks as I am a visual person. You can take your time in ordering and not have to talk to anyone or stand in line. They have make your own combos too! They are a little pricey but overall a great place to grab a bite that is on the healthier side. read more

1st Visit: Even seeing the lower rating for this location, I decided to stop in for after work take out food. This is a great place to go to have a relaxing lunch with a couple friends or to go if you've got work to do. It's very quiet but not too quiet therefore work just kinda flourishes. Employee named Jonie was rude. My husband & I stopped in during late breakfast hours, so it wasn't too busy. When I took an empty half & half pitcher up to the counter to let them know it needed filling, I was friendly. Jonie gave me a look & told me "Set it down." When something that happens, I like to give them the benefit if a doubt and assume that the employee was just having a really bad day. BUT, when she filled it later and I thanked her - I got the same treatment, NO response at all. She definitely heard me. I am a Panara fan, but this woman has no business working in a job that puts her in contact with customers. She's hurting business. We just ate our soufflés. My husband's was supposed to have bacon in it, but the little piece of bacon on top to indicate which one it was, consisted of more bacon than what was inside the whole soufflé. We broke our own rule tonight and stopped Panera at 7:30pm tonight. We have long known that stopping by Panera after 5 PM in our area is an invitation for poorly made food, watered down soup, and no pastries left. They have brought back my favorite BBQ Chicken salad so I ordered that and my wife got the French Onion soup. The soup, while hot, tasted like it had been watered down to stretch it until the end of the day. My salad dressing, a thousand island variant, had also been changed. Thinned out with an odd flavor I can't describe. Glad I had some ranch at home to use. Bottom line: Panera has changed everything that initially tasted good to save the customer calories and them money. Give us a choice to decide on the taste and calories we want; not some Corp decree. I really hate to say this b'c I (used to) love Panera at this location but about a month ago I was walking up to the little window where you pick your food up in the back left corner and as I was waiting a lady handed them a sandwich back with a cockroach smack dab in the middle of it. The reviews on this Panera are definitely reflective of the sometimes uselessness of Yelp... This is a very nice Panera. They serve the standard Panera dishes (they didn't invent the crumbled sausage inside the egg white...). The staff here is very reflective of Panera and Fort Mill - mostly great, friendly and efficient, with a couple less than responsive folks, but on the whole, solid. The food is almost always correct and when it isn't, it gets corrected. For the folks complaining, go find a Michelin 3 Star for breakfast in York county, or head to the Waffle House in Rock Hill. So I show up at the drive thru at 5:59am on 12/24 (they open at 6:00). I wait 10 minutes, no one ever greets me. All the lights are on like they are open. I back out of the drive thru and park. When I get to the door, I find another man waiting also. We are very confused. There are employees inside. We knock on the door for a minute and someone finally comes over and says they aren't opening until 7:00 today because it's Christmas eve. I have never heard of a place opening late because of Christmas eve. She says it's on the sign on the door. I checked every door and the drive thru again and never found any sign. She was also pretty snotty about it. I think the other guy was more annoyed than me. I try that same scenario again on 12/26. I pull up at the drive thru at 6:20am. I wait 6 minutes this time. No one ever shows up to greet me. No sign, and all the lights are on. This is getting ridiculous now. Why would they be opening late the day after Christmas??? I gave them one last try this morning, 12/30. This time they are open but I had to sit in the drive thru for 12 minutes to get a sliced bagel. That's all. Nothing else. There was only one person in front of me. Might be time for me to find another place to get breakfast. I'll save money anyway because they are WAY overpriced for what you get. read more
