Another great breakfast with server Destiny J. Super service and good food. Wife had baked potato soup, for breakfast ($5.99). It was thick and creamy and really filling. reinforces that you can order anything from the menu, plus specials at any time at the Metro. I had my boring but immensely satisfying two egg breakfast ($11.29). Two pork sausage patties and wonderful hash browns. I could have crispy or regular versions. Went with crispy as they were crispy on top and soft underneath. Yum, yum and dragged them through my two over medium eggs. Eight grain toast topped it all off, along with nicely strong black coffee ($3.69). Have to mention that the two restrooms, I checked both, were spotlessly clean. Tried this for take-out tonight for the first time. There was some good and some not so. The good: the fried chicken tenders and fried fish were lightly breaded and very flavorful. You don't get that many places and it's always nice to find a restaurant that lets the ingredient shine rather than coating it in layers upon layers of deep fried batter. The ok: The mac & cheese was pretty good, but I'm sure it's much better when it's nice and hot in the restaurant. I'm sure that's just an issue that comes with food cooling during the drive home. The coleslaw wasn't too bad, just a rougher cut than we like, but if you like a chunkier slaw you'll probably really like it. The not so good: The mashed potatoes with gravy were way, way too salty. Inedible levels of salty. Maybe it was a one off for today and we just got them on a bad night, but they weren't good. We will try Metro Diner again because there were some good things here and promising items to be tried on the menu. read more

Sunday lunch. Always super busy, but service was great and we had a table within 15 mins. Wife and friends had Bissell breakfast, which were predictably delicious. Our server was wonderful, attentive, and very professional. I was disappointed with the chicken pan pie. The biscuit - type top was OK, but did not go edge to edge on the pan. Previous versions of this dish at other Metro's had a more delicious crust that sealed the pie. The chicken inside was plentiful. However, the pieces appeared to be standard shape and size, which is usually an indication of frozen product being used. And some pieces were grisly. Decided to try this place out since they are new in the area, but was instantly disappointed. First off, I tried to order online but received a message saying their website site was having trouble and to try back. So, I called in to place an order, and was placed on hold by Ava who never returned. Okay, so I drive to the restaurant since it's really close to place the order. Ava was there and I informed her that I had called and was left on hold. She apologized and took my order immediately. The wait was about 10-12 mins. Once I arrived home and checked for everything, I noticed that the extra side of bacon that I ordered was not in the bag. I called back and another girl answered didn't catch her name and was left on hold again and nobody returned after 5 mins, so I hung up. The food was not good at all. Pancakes were cold and I mean cold as if they had been sitting where stacks of pancakes had been pre-made. I ordered cheese grits, and there was no cheese. There was a 1520 minute wait to get in but it was Sunday prime time so I just waited in my car and they called me when it was my turn . It's a new location in a future large shopping area that's just now being built out. They're one of the first businesses to open. There may be five businesses. Open there now. So it's brand new and very nice. The waitress was beyond attentive-she was fantastic. She got my order right in the food came out fairly quickly, and it was very good. Large portions cooked correctly and she kept checking in with me. Did I need this? Did I need that? How was everything but not interrupting me so just the right amount The coffee was even decent. I'm really picky. I don't usually order coffee, but it was good. And she didn't wait too long after it was obvious I was done. She asked if she could take my plate away. I said yes thank you Of course she asked if I needed anything else at all and I said just the check Which I got right away -as soon as I placed the money down she assumed I needed to change because I left her a 30% tip-I told her no change required thank you and she said a very surprise. Gave this Metro Diner a try because past experiences with Metro's were very positive. I learned that not all Metro's are the same quality. Seated promptly and went with my fave The Fried Chicken Benedict. I was seated by the kitchen and this is always risky because you can see what is going on in the kitchen good and bad. I saw my food sitting there for a good 10 minutes under the light and was hoping it wasn't mine because no way that light is keeping it hot. Needless to say that was indeed my breakfast and when I cut into it, it was cold. I sent it back and they did make me a new one but they had to know that food was sitting there too long and served it anyway. The kicker is my food wasn't the only food up there sitting getting cold so probably a few meals went out cold. Prices on par, good portions, food plated nicely. I went with several others and all enjoyed their meals. Hazelnut coffee was an option but regular coffee also very good. Decided to try out Metro Diner on a whim for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! We walked in and it was busy for lunch, but there was no wait. We sat outside as it wasn't raining and not too hot. Our server came and he great! Nice and friendly, he was patient and was able to describe the menu items we had questions about. I order the Country Benedict special and my companion ordered the Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich. It didn't take too long for our food to come out maybe around 10 minutes. I have visited this restaurant several times and was so impressed with the food and service. I was hoping this would be my breakfast place in the morning and sometime in the evening. I took my family there one Sunday morning and the restaurant was somewhat busy, so I had no problem waiting but the waiting turn into 45 minutes. My server, Katie was continually checking on and us, made sure we had enough coffee and drinks and assure us our food was coming soon. What a great server! Finally, my family wanted to go so I did something I never do we left. I talked to the manager with the blue hair, and she told me a lot of people called out, and they were under staff, which I understand some of that. The problem was everyone around us was getting their food and we were overlooked for some reason, which was no fault of my server. On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, around 4:30 PM I told my wife I would like to try the Metro Diner again and she agreed to go with me, after all anyone can have a bad day. When we arrive, we were greeted by Kyndel who was out server also. She took care of us immediately. In about 6 minutes our food arrived. I order 2 eggs over medium, has brown with onion, crispy bacon and toast. The hashbrowns were cooked to hard and the bacon was almost burnt and tasted like it was left over from this morning, not fresh like normal. I paid 90 cents for onion, and they were burnt also. While I was eating, I looked around and the restaurant was untidy. the floors had food under the tables and looks like no one bother to clean up from the lunch business. Started out really great we were told a 25 min wait and it only took 10 minutes. Food took a long time and was brought out by another waiter. Food was incorrect but our waiter never came to table so it was never able to be fixed. Waiter finally returned when food was 80% done and asked if everything was correct. Then checks were immediately brought to table. The Food overall was okay but frustrating experience overall and probably won't return. My kids and I were looking forward to trying the new Metro Diner. Upon entering, there was no hostess at the counter and we were ignored by staff. A gentleman in a red shirt which was a different color than the other staff (honestly appeared to be the manager) walked over to the hostess counter, said nothing and walked away from us. This happened 2-3 times including a time where this guy almost pushed us out of the way with an excuse me and walked away again. We almost walked out until a waitress finally came over. Again, this guy appeared to be the manager and if that's true, this establishment needs to have better training. To have staff ignore incoming clients is a turn off and to not even say hello, someone will be with you shortly shows pitiful customer service. Aside from this, the food was good and I really enjoyed the chicken salad and my kids enjoyed their waffles.
