    Southwest Chicken & Avocado Salad

Decent food at reasonable prices. Lots of healthy or hearty options, depending upon what you're in the mood for. Restaurant is clean and service is friendly. Basically all you can ask for in a simple deli chain. If you need a ton of calories, enjoy their spuds. If not, they gave great salads. For in between, plenty of soup and/or sandwich options.

The amount of chips included in my "loaded" nachos to-go order was infuriating after waiting as long as I did for my order. For the amount of money I paid I would hope to receive a much larger portion size than this. Not coming back to this location.

My food is always fresh and the service is always great. The baxter village location is favorite. The outdoor seating is a plus on a nice day

McAlisters deli has went down over the years. They used to serve really really fresh shammiches but I don't know what happened. My hubby had the Reuben and he said it was very bland and lacking flavor. My hubby is from NYC and he knows a good Reuben when he sees one! I had a Roast Beef, sharp cheddar and horseradish sandwich which was alright but nothing spectacular. I don't believe I will be entering another McAlisters ever again lol.

    Harvest Chicken Salad with fruit

McAlister's is a chain deli serving up sandwiches, salads, spuds, soups and more. It's a fast casual type of place. I feel like the menu changed since I was last here. My old go to was a muffaletta, but I didn't see it on the menu. I settled for a harvest chicken salad sandwich with fruit. They also have pick two combos where you can get half a sandwich and a soup or half a salad. There is an upcharge for premium items though. There are some healthy side options as well My sandwich was just okay. The croissant was flaky. For me the chicken salad was overpowering sweet that I couldn't taste anything else. The fruit was a mix of melon, berries and grapes. The environment was noisy. A lot of kids were there so it's great for families. We sat at a high top away from the kids. We do like the healthy options and hubby likes the bread bowls.

Service was much better. Got a to go order from here and was overall pleased. Everything was securely wrapped and we had to go silverware and plenty of napkins. I love their chili. You can't go wrong with either. They have the regular chili with just meat and the vegetarian chili with just beans. The veggie chili has more of a spice to it which I love. I tried their southwest chicken salad for the first time. Had fresh mixed greens with cheese, grilled chicken, corn and tomatoes. Comes with a side of chipotle ranch and guacamole which made it delicious. You can't go wrong with their sweet tea! Their strawberry lemonade is also very refreshing!

So glad I moved to Fort Mill and my new northern friends suggested this place. Not only do you need warm and friendly help, the food is so fresh and amazingly tasty. No frozen or fridge yesterday leftovers either. The salads pecan is a special return favorite and she gets Savannah Chopped Salad. I also had to try the carrot cake which is so out of this world fresh and yes, I don't say this very often, is better than Mine! Would love to know were they get it but so good, fresh and not overly filled with unnecessary ingredients. Definitely needed another slice for later tonight mmmmm Try this place once you too will get hooked!

For whatever the reason, I can assure you, as I did with Tony, that when my wife and I return that is there are any issues I will immediately bring it up to the manager. The shop also has a small bar and a small dining area. Friendly staff, nice menu, comfortable atmosphere. Menu specials offered, most of us ordered the meatball lunch with red sauce, mozzarella cheese , fried grits with goat cheese, others ordered a crab cake sandwich, Cuban sandwich, side of mushrooms and a side of hot honey brussel sprouts We all liked what we ate. However for me the fried grit squares had no detection of goat cheese in them and seemed to me not the best addition to compliment the meatballs. The mushrooms tasted standard. However we all loved the hot honey roasted brussel sprouts and I enjoyed them more than the meatballs! Food plately nicely, brought out hot, good portions size. We certainly would return and try somet other menu choices.

With a name like Southern Salads, you would think they had a salad with Iceberg lettuce…read more Nope, they do not! I read thru the description of each salad and their 'spring mix' includes just about everything but iceberg lettuce. So disappointed, right? I just don't understand this trend today around calling something a salad with no real iceberg lettuce. I had to be in the area for business so I stopped in to pick-up a 'to go' menu. There was a real nice young lady there and she said 'we are out, we are getting ready to come out with a new menu'. I asked her specifically about the salads not having iceberg and she confirmed that was the case. So sorry, she said. No big deal really, I know where to get them. I thought to myself you should change the name of your restaurant because you don't have Southern Salads. I'm born and raised right here in the area and I bet you ask any real southerner what a salad is made with and they will say lettuce, real lettuce, not arugula, not spinach or any one of a bunch of random green things you throw in there. I'm sorry to rant, but if the name was anything other than Southern Salads, I would shut up. I did order a patty melt. It was just OK.

The shop was easy to find, located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. When I arrived, I waited in line and mentioned my reserved Goodie Bag (pay on the app to reserve). At first, I didn't buy anything extra, but once I got to my car and saw the variety inside - plain, poppyseed, garlic & onion, sesame seed, cinnamon raisin, and wheat - I decided to head back in for some cream cheese. They didn't include my favorite everything bagel but with the mix I got I couldn't complain! I picked up jalapeño cream cheese and a hazelnut raisin flavor which was unique and tasty. The bagels might have been (not sure) day-olds, but they were still delicious. Over the next few days, I enjoyed some fresh and froze the rest. While thawed bagels never taste quite as good as fresh, these held up well. West End Bagels also offers paninis and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, which I'd love to try next time. Overall, great value, friendly service, and a solid bagel selection. If you're in the area, check them out--especially if you're using Goodie Bag or Too Good To Go!

The whole place has a New York theme - very appealing to me being an East Coaster and knowing that NJ and NY absolutely have the best bagels. I have yet to try their cream cheeses because I always get bagels to bring home and serve them with my own cream cheese but today I noticed they had a couple of fun flavors that would very well appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth: cookies & cream, and also funfetti. My absolute favorite thing they have that will always keep me coming back is that they have colored bagels that they call "wagels" and the colors are always themed for the holidays - and if there's not a holiday, they will often have rainbow! They look fantastic! Today I got Christmas themed ones, but in the past I've gotten green for St. Patrick's Day, red for Valentines Day, pastels for Easter... They have real wow factor! I knocked off one star for being pricey because 4 wagels cost me $14. ...fyi: their general rule on weekends is that they won't cut bagels for you because they are too busy. I took a shot and asked today (Sunday) and the employee said she would do it if I waited for the line to go down - I didn't wait, though....
