I love Panera! I've been to this location several times. The food is delicious and the staff are helpful & friendly.

First of all, the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, my mobile order is always missing items and never ready when I arrive for pick up. I once received a rotting Apple - photo attached. The manager emailed me and offered to comp my lunch. I haven't taken her up on the offer yet due to lack of time. I did place another pickup order last night, wasn't ready when I arrived even tho I gave them 30 mins before I picked it up and received a text that it was ready for pickup. The French onion soup was missing the cheese on top lol and the baguette that comes with it. The food is good when it's not missing any items and is correct. I hope they improve or I will have to take my business elsewhere. read more

Since this was my 1st Panera Bread visit, this review will be a little on the fairer side. The building looked clean when I entered while the cashier was polite. The staff present Saturday evening 7/20/24 were polite. While waiting for the food, I noticed that the music playing was a little loud as it drowned out the voice of the employee calling out the names for orders from the pick up window; which included mine. The time between placing the food order and receiving the order was long, but it appeared they were short staffed for a Saturday evening. When I picked up the order for my group, there were two things immediately wrong. First was the soup spoon given to us was dirty and second was only receiving half of my sandwich. This might be the worst Panera bread I've ever been to. I've tried on multiple occasions to give them a chance and each time I'm disappointed. Every single time I order online something is missing in my order. They forget the bread, they forget the chips, and/or they forget the drink. Even though everything I order shows on the receipt they still forget. I've had to wait on multiple occasions for my correct order. The point of ordering ahead of time is so u don't have to wait. I don't understand it. Is this place under new management? Today I ordered a sandwich that was completely soggy and disgusting so much do that I had to throw it away. How do you make a soggy sandwich? I just don't get it. Everyone here seems rushed and inattentive. I'll go to the Vacaville location in the future since I've never had issues there. I'm enjoy Panera salads, my favorite is the strawberry poppyseed! I had a taste for my favorite salad! Go in 2 patrons ahead of me and 1 gentleman behind me! The gentleman ahead of me finished and paid his order, mine turn so I thought! A female patron came from out of the dinning area, on her way out, spoke with a female managers (who I see all the times I go in) who just happen to come from the back kitchen area! She helped this elderly female patron before me! I stood in line, at least ten minutes, if she had acknowledged me, or said I'll be right with you....NOTHING! The young man that was taking orders prior to this manager, stood there, out of her way! He saw the look on my face...drop! I thought it was absolutely "RUDE" and poor customer service! Ordered a bagle bag and special instruction was ignored. After the email received order ready, still waited 15 min to get it. Didn't have the coffee made at all. Decaf and hazelnut. My order was specifically instructed to cut and toast but was given to me a bag. I asked the manager in orange shirt and she said no we don't toast them for togo order even if asked. Not my friendly panera store specially for being the monthly member. This place need new set of respectful staff that can follow instruction and don't make up story for customer when they are short staff. They have paper sign all over the counter and door that short staff and your order will be delay. I'm happy to say I've had a few pleasant day visits now. Been here a few times in the morning and the service has improved. Still have some waiting time but they now have good customer service which was the key. Today I went in for a breakfast sandwich and a chai tea. They had one person ringing up, he was extremely polite and what impressed me the most was when he went to cut a loaf of bread he washed his hands and put the gloves on. Then he took my order and I order a loaf of bread too and he had grabbed some gloves then he realized he had to get my money for payment threw the then contaminated gloves, washed his hands and repeated what he had done earlier. My chai came out quick The lady prepping my sandwich told me they had to make fresh bread and that I could have a pastry for the long wait. Mm mmm mmmm! Compliments to Panera for the delicious 1/2 tuna sandwich with the side of veggie sprouted grain soup and baguette . I did not go inside I used their curb side option when I ordered online. They do offer pick up inside. As I thought I would save myself sometime by doing so. BUT the shopping center in which they are located is a MADhouse to toggle through during lunch hour lol. I had to drive around the parking lot until my order was brought out, as I did not notice any designated parking spots for curbside. I honked to get the nice young lady's attention. She handed my my order and I apologized for not being able to be in closer proximity. She understood. On a food rating I was pretty satisfied. Saturday March 16 at around 7:40. Went inside to sign in for a large coffee. Also asked the store employee for the bathroom code. She said, are you going to buy anything? Technically I've already bought the drink membership to sign in, so I said no. But I needed to go, so I told her I was there for the large coffee. She then proceeded to water down regular coffee with hot water, calling it Americano--lamest excuse for this. Then finally gave me the code. Panera, I want my money back. read more

I used to go to this location quiet often for their sandwich, salads, and soup. I always enjoyed their food. So, I decided to go back and ordered a salad to go. It was supposed the Green Goddess Salad which includes some of the ingredients: bacon, avocado, chicken, and onions. However, they were hard to "find" in my salad and all I got was lettuce. I wish, I had checked the salad at the pick up window. The bread was old, hard, and was missing the dough in the inside. I asked the associate at the window "is this all the bread I'm getting" and showed it to her. She replied with "yes." I used to always order this salad but this was my last time due to that the price is not matching the worth. The lack of care and any sort of imagination on the part of the food crew here is painfully evident in the quality and presentation of the food. I ordered the turkey chili, and I asked for cheese and onions on it. First of all, it's soup...ok that's my bad for not qualifying this before I ordered it. I asked for cheese and onions...I got a slice of cheese and a few whole rings of onion. You ever try to cut onions with a tiny spoon?? The chili soup was luke warm, so the cheese never melted...it just formed a large ball if you will. It is served with no bread, so I poured my bag if chips in it. This was an improvement of the flavor for sure. My wife's sandwich had decayed rotten slimy black lettuce in it. When she showed it to the "food prep dou" at the food counter they just stared at her and said NOTHING. So she asked for the manager. Here comes the girl in charge. My wife pointed out the black goop and said that it was gross. The girl pointed out that there was "lots of green lettuce too!" Really, is that relevant? This is not the first time we have had poor quality food and sub par service at the Fairfield Panera...but it is the last. Noone gives a crap and that tells me that other standards are being ignored as well. Wake up Panera, you have some issues in this store. In contrast, the Vacaville store has better service, much better quality control, and is run by a manager that obviously knows how to manage food service personel. I like Panera but the last few times I've been to the Fairfield mall one they've been out of many many items. Today they have only 2 soups left, neither of which i would opt for. So I asked for the Green Goddess Caprese sandwich but oops! No GG dressing so sorry, and that means the salad of the same name is also out. Ok so maybe the asian crunch salad? Well yes but there's no cilantro. As things go in the world these are not big problems but given the competition among restaurants and that I come here specifically for soup or salad or sandwich, I won't be back to this Panera. I like to go to Panera for a quick breakfast of coffee and a pastry, but this was not a good experience. I ordered an iced mocha - and got a frappachino. Maybe they did not have espresso drinks, but they could have told me as these are not the same thing. Then I ordered a bagel with flavored cream cheese. I asked for the bagel lightly toasted, but I think they didn't toast it at all. Then they cut it completely crooked where one half was 90% of the bagel, and the other half was a parital sliver. Finally, they forgot my cream cheese, and when I went up to get it, I got the third degree - Am I sure I ordered it, did I pay extra for it, do I have my receipt. I was ready to say 'Just charge me for another one!' And then, they gave me plain cream cheese. I'm sure this was just a bad experience, but it did not start my day out well. read more

Horrible customer service. This is only the second Panera I've ever been to. The first was in Concord, CA, and it was okay. Placed an order online and walked into the store and was looking around for help. Went a window where I was completely ignored the group of young workers. When I asked if they had my order, one of them indifferently answered, "Nope, sorry." Finally, I saw a gal in the front who was the only one who was courteous and showed me where my order was sitting (already prepared and ready to go). To Panera corporate or the franchise owner: Are you serious about running a business in Fairfield ? Because ALL the other business around your location--Panda Express, Wingstop, Barnes & Noble, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Chevy's, Red Lobster--have customer service that is infinitely better than yours. A couple weeks back, we placed an online order and arrived at the pick up area for curbside about 5 minutes after it would be ready according to the app. We waited 30min for our food and it finally came out. Tonight we ordered at 6pm for 6:10pm pick up according to the app. We get there and click that we're here. I get a phone call 15min later that the order isn't ready. At 6:40pm I get an email that my order is ready and we wait again. I finally decide to call them at 6:50pm and someone comes out with the food. At a glance it all looks correct, and we get home and there's a whole Mac and cheese missing. Called them again, they offered a refund. Not an ounce of remorse or sympathy. I should have read the description of the Tomato Basil BLT before I placed a pickup order. I brought it home and kept wondering where the basil was. I guess the bread is flavored with basil but I couldn't detect any basil flavor at all. The sandwich was decent but still a little high priced in my opinion. I was in this location earlier with my daughter and the service was good, the food the same. A woman who has cancer was in this location being rude and nasty to the employees because she was concerned about germs, covid, flies, and oxygen touching her food. She had the poor people here remake her food twice while she stood there staring and being a total bleep. The people helping her had every right to throw the food at her, but instead they continued to show professionalism and manners even during a frustrating experience. I'm sorry, but just " lousey"! Why? One reason I go there is that they have caffeine free Diet Pepsi. NOT TODAY! Also NO SALT, not today, just 3 bins of pepper! I spoke with one long time employee trying to be helpful who said " we get what we get"! So apparently local management has no control over making sure the restaurant has what it needs to operate. Also the ladies room was closed for the entire day. On the restroom door was a sign suggesting that we could use any of their other of their Panera ladies rooms!!! Vacaville? Luckily, I could drive to Michael's store 1/2 mile away and use their ladies room. Yep! If I had ordered before going to the rest room, not sure what I would have done!! Then, the poor cashier must be new, she could not answer any questions about the new menu items without seeking help ( 2 or 3 times)! Poor thing! Then, in the kitchen area, the staff also seemed new, they weren't using the digital notification board accurately, didn't use my name at all! My grandson and I both ordered the baguette, he got 2. So something isn't quite " right" in the kitchen either! Maybe all new staff? The only highlight was that the new Mexican street corn soup was wonderful! I'm not going back to this Panera Bread location. There are so many other restaurants nearby! Very disappointed when I arrived at this Panera Bread. I was driving all the way from San Francisco on my way to Sacramento and wanted to get a bite to eat and both Google maps and Apple Maps both said they close at 9 which of course was not true they closed at 8. Very unprofessional to have two different websites both say that you close at 9 every single day and actually close at 8, waste of my time to even stop. read more

Over priced!! This place is way over priced. $10 for half a sandwich and an old apple. Unbelievable! The half sandwich taste good, but was definitely no gourmet sandwich. Also, it was supposed to be a hot sandwich, but it was cold in the middle. The small Apple that came with it was old and a little mushy. They have a large menu and the food is pretty good, but they think they are serving gourmet food based on what they charge. I recommend only eating here if it's a special occasion and make sure you food comes out perfect because that is what you are paying for.
