I was having a rough start to my day and decided to head over to Panera bread for my coffee and a sweet treat. As I entered the establishment I was greeted by a young lady walking outside the door with an order which was very sweet of her. As I walked up to the counter, everyone was walking by and seeing me there but no one came out to help me. The same young lady, whose name is Alyssa, came back inside and asked if I have been helped yet to which I replied that I have not. She immediately apologized and jumped to help me. She was very sweet and answered all the many questions I asked about the food. She was quick with her work and knew what she was doing as well as very patient and polite with me. I got my coffee and a few pastries as well as a breakfast sandwich, which was very good and went on with my day. Thank you Alyssa for making my day so much better than it started and thank you panera for continuing such great work! read more

I get that this location is trying to streamline everything and add in the new kiosk checkout but the wait times are horrific now. Before if you ordered just a pastry or bagel they would give it to you right there at the cashier. Now your bagel is put into the system in order with all the other meals. So your 1 bagel now has to wait for all the lunches and breakfasts to be made. 25 mins waiting for 2 bagels is absurd. read more

I do not know if this is a manager or a corporate decision but the Italian Combo keeps changing ingredients. It used to be served on a baguette with pepperoncino; then it was served on large ciabatta with excellent cuts of Italian meats (IMHO the best sandwich Panera offered). Tonight, I ordered what I thought would be a half ciabatta Italian Combo. I was completely shocked by the sandwich I got. It looked shoddy and had some weird "salsa" ingredients that made the sandwich taste bizarre. It certainly didn't taste like the Italian Combo. Dissatisfied with the order, I mentioned to the chef that I specifically ordered half-size because I was under the impression it would be the large ciabatta version. The chef was gracious enough to make another half equal to the size of the half-Ciabatta Italian Combo. I commend his professionalism and generosity. However, I am naturally disappointed that my favorite Panera sandwich has once again fundamentally changed. For the sides, I had a choice of kettle chips, bread or apple. The bread is a non-choice. It is typically a weak dinner roll. The chips are always good, but I did not want the calories. So I opted for the apple. Total disgusting flavor. It had no snap to it. It was mushy (you know the kind). Plus there were dark spots all over it. Not the sort of thing you expect from a $7 meal. My rating is primarily for the constantly changing ingredients of their core menu items seemingly at will and without notice. Because they make no effort to inform their patrons, sandwiches regularly have unpredictable results. Well, no more. I like Panera but constantly changing the core menu ingredients isn't cool, especially if they make no effort to inform their patrons. Improve your game Panera, and I will consider coming back. To the staff, keep doing your thing. You guys rock. :) read more

I spend a lot of time at Panera Breads across the Sac County area and this is one of my favorite. Give me free Wi-Fi, all you can drink soda and some great pastries and you have a winning combination in my book. Clean restaurant makes for a wonderful setting also. I am at this location about once a month for a few hours, and I have never had a reason to complain. read more

I really like this place. I like to come here in the afternoon and study when I get too distracted at home. With free wi-fi, it's a good place to enjoy your coffee, surf the web, and do homework. The place gets loud sometimes during lunch but that's nothing some good headphones won't cure. The food is pretty good. I have liked pretty much everything I've ordered. Their hot panini sandwiches are really delicious. The frontega chicken especially is definitely all sorts of amazing! And the infamous broccoli and cheddar soup in a bread bowl was pretty good as well. Customer service is okay. Sometimes I get bad service, other times I get really good service. I came here few months ago for the first time and I must say, this place is great! It's a great place to have lunch with friends or come here to catch up on some school work since they provide free wi-fi. I love Panera Bread! They have a very delicious Fresh Fruit Pastry that is filled with pastry cream and topped with fresh strawberries, blue berries, and pineapple! They also have some great sandwiches and soups. There Tortellini Alfredo pasta is one of my favorites. I have yet to try their frozen drinks and smoothies, but they look delicious! They also have free wi-fi. The location is right off the free way, and other overall look and feel of the restaurant is great. The staff has always been very friendly and ready to help. read more

I like Panera. The food is good and its a nice place to pull off the road and do some work on the laptop while grabbing a bite... that's usually why I visit. The WIFI at this location simply suxx. Kicks me off every 15-20 mins and is miserably slow. Forget about actually getting any work done unless you can do it offline. Lodi has much better internet access and they have very friendly staff there too. My low rating is mostly based on these points, not the food which is consistently decent at all the locations. read more

Panera bread is fast food with a nicer dining room. I asked to get their soba noodles without the veggies. Was told it comes "pre-made" and could not be changed. Well okay then, lets try it. Flat, bland just plain disgusting. Epic fail. Its my fault really. Should not have ordered japanese noodles in a quasi sandwich shop of fast food proportions. Nope will stick to using Panera as a last ditch "fast food" alternative on those cold winter nights OR just go home and open my own can of soup and save $5. read more

Good quality food, good atmosphere. Their sandwiches are the best, and so are the salads. But when they get very busy, the quality of salad is a little disappointing because they are thrown together messily. For the price, their salad shouldn't be flimsy but it was one Saturday I went. But when they are slower it's better. I love that I can get loafs of bread there and they will slice it for me. we stopped off for a brunch after a fasting dr. apt I was crazy hungry. we put our order in as normal. given a beeper/buzzer. long story short the buzzer did not go off and someone grabbed my food when I didn't come when my name was called. I asked about my food after waiting for a longer than normal time. ( super fast service here always so knew something was wrong) ** they quickly remade our order and the manager even gave me our money back for having to wait... such amazing customer service. I did not ask for anything from them. the manager even offered me a free bakery item or soda for the wait while they remade our food.... I have always loved to eat here. I have never had a issue with food, service or anything else. we have eaten here since the day they opened and will continue to support their store. read more

She's says, our soup isn't ready until 10:30. I told her, it's 10:40. She turns to her coworker and they chit chat about the time. She then tells me soup isn't served until 11. I've been going to this location off and on for about 10 years now. I typically go during breakfast time and order the Avocado, Egg White & Spinach Breakfast Power Sandwich. This has exactly what I need and it isn't too filling. The casiers are always helpful and nice. I was there this passed Monday, picking up an order. One of the employee's children were running into the kitchen, yelling for her. Is this normal practice? I am very impressed with the way Panera handled a mistake they made the other night. I placed on online order and sent my son to pick it up since I had the flu. Being a teenaged boy, he picked up the order, but never looked inside to check that it was correct. When he got home, the outer bag had my name and the correct order, but none of the food inside the bag was what I had ordered. I was sick and grouchy when I called, but the young man who answered was very apologetic and handled it like a champ. He gave me the option of either keeping what I had and they would comp my orders on a different day, or they could get my correct order ASAP and I could come back. I chose to go back for the correct order. Since I was sick, I called as soon as I got there and the young man ran my food out to the car for me. They provided me with some extra goodies for my troubles, and let me keep the wrong order, too. Everyone makes mistakes. The way those mistakes are handled makes all the difference in the world! read more

I have been to several Panera's and usually the staff is very friendly. But from the time I walked in at this one, there was no one that was welcoming. There was no line so I walked up to the register to order. Although there were two people talking, neither of them acknowledged me. Finally one of them said "are you going to help her?" (I'm assuming a manager of some sort) the girl didn't say anything so the manager lady ended up asking what I wanted to order, with an obvious attitude that she was unhappy she had to do it. She did not ask for my Panera card or what side I even wanted and just chose one for me. It is clear that the workers are unhappy here and this is something that should be looked into. Love this place. The Strawberry/Poppyseed salad (summer only) is wonderful and nutritious. I love the sandwiches, which are freshly made with a variety of breads (except for the paninis which are pre-made), and you get a choice of apple/chips/french bread for a side. The soups are wonderful. Dining is pleasant and relaxing (except for crowded lunch periods) and there's free wifi. You refill your own drinks (sodas, not smoothies). A variety of bakery items (breads, pastries, etc.) are available and the service has always been friendly for me. Overall, a healthy alternative to fast food. read more
