Ordered the Southwest Chicken Salad to go. Got home and discovered they forgot to put the chicken on it. Called the restaurant, if I'd come back they'd make a new one Got there and picked up a new salad and when I got home I realized they forgot the southwest fixens such as the roasted corn and tortilla strips. They made the salad wrong twice! By that time I was too tired to deal with it further. read more

Say yes to the Cheese Broccoli Soup, the Mac and Cheese and the Green Goddess Salad. Say no to the Onion Soup. Overall: Very convenient location, great variety but you pay a literal price for it. They are also EXCELLENT with delivery to most places in Dubuque. read more

This employees in this restaurant always seem a little flustered and therefore testy with the customers. Front desk person acted like I was bothering her when I placed my order. Just a little aggravating. However what's really aggravating is the manner in which they can remember to provide utensils but the slices of bread or other extras are consistently forgotten. If there was another Panera in town, I'd be switching to that one. read more

Having not gone to Panera for a while I was surprised with the additions of the kiosks for ordering but gave them a try. I was there to just get bread. I placed my order and waited. And waited. And waited. In the past this was something that would have taken five minutes. This time, with the marvelous technology it took fifteen. I'm giving this location 1 STAR solely based on the current Cattering manager. I have had 3 bad Cattering experiences with her thus far, which isn't normally the case with Panera's of Eastern Iowa. Just this morning I received a rigid scolding and lecture from her for requesting a same day catering order, similar to another I received while transporting hot soup 45min away (if my customers want soup they get soup). Even after begging her not to lecture me this morning, she continued to badger me and I was forced to speak to another manager (Not the first time). I have been Cattering with Panera for over 10 years in Iowa and have never been made to feel so shameful for spending over $200 in my life. Her sarcasm, ego and failure to not "sweat the small stuff" will not take her far in her career. read more

Normally I have good meals here at this particular Panera, but this last meal that I had was another story. I get the same thing every time that I go to a Panera the pick 2 chicken noodle soup and Mac n cheese. My soup was fine but then how can you mess up soup... my Mac n cheese..... that was a different story, it looked like it had been heated up about 10 different times before it was served to me. Funny story about this Dubuque Panera! I was in for the day from Chicago to go canvassing in Dubuque for President Obama (YES WE CAN!) and me and my canvass buddies stopped at Panera for some relatively healthy dinner on our way out of town. So we order our food, and two of us (self included) get the Roasted Turkey Avocado BLT. In the car, on our way out of town, she opens her bag of food and goes, "they forgot to put turkey on mine!" And I'm all like "haha!" And then I open my bag and they left turkey off my sandwich too! What the damn? the receipt said "roasted turkey avocado BLT" so we paid for the full sandwich, and didn't get it. It was just this sad, silly sandwich. Two slices of bread, a few slices of bacon, some avocado pieces, a leaf of lettuce, a tomato. It was mostly bread, without the turkey. Awkward! But we were so tired from canvassing and already on the road so we just ate our bready BLTs. BUT - redemption! I actually emailed about this on the Panera website. I got a call from the manager in Dubuque. He was incredibly polite and apologetic, and offered to send me a $25 gift card. Hurray! I really believe in giving positive reviews for places where mistakes were made, and the management remedies those mistakes. Sometimes things happen, turkey gets left off sandwiches, but it's how the manager handles it that matters most. Given his fast response, I would have no qualms about stopping here on my way home the next time i'm in Dubuque. I'm sure it won't happen again, and they care about making their customers happy. I had a love/hate relationship with Panera while I worked in the campaign office across the parking lot. Without much time to visit other restaurants, Panera was a go-to for the whole office. I had more Cuban chicken paninis than I can remember, and a whole lot of coffee too. Panera the chain gets a three from me, but this location gets a four for consistently great and friendly service. read more

This store is always clean and nicely decorated. I usually only get a drink and breakfast item, and the quality is pretty good - my biggest complaints being that they only have Vanilla to flavor the coffees (why even offer specialty drinks?) and the choices are really not very healthy unless you get a piece of bread (look them up online). It's hit or miss on how friendly the staff is. I continue to go back because it's really a nice place to meet with friends or family - fairly quiet - good atmosphere. read more

I absolutely love the food here and everything I've ever tried has been amazing. It is a bit pricey for a sand which and a salad but it is fresh so I can't complain too much. I have only had one bad experience with a young high school girl who was more worried about her hair and flirting with the boy than taking care of my order so I could go. I also feel like their pastries are either in abundance or there is nothing there to choose from. I had a free pastry for my birthday and when I went to pick I got to pick from only 3 things and none looked appealing to me. I herd abought this store from plenty of people who just went on & on about how grate this place is; I found this place is about as impersonal as you can get, not even taking your order in person not only that but it took so dam long to get my food I nearly fell asleep at my table the food I did get (if you can call it that) was not only cold but completely wrong being that I'm vegan and have to eat kosher too,... I got a ROAST BEEF WITH CHEESE AND WHOLE MILK LATTE so then I had to stand in line again for another forty five minutes (as it was "moderately" busy from what google seid at the time while I waited in line) to get to the front of the line explain what happened, didn't even get a apology like at all or my food or drink for another half an hour; So by the time I got my lunch it was nearly dinner time and you know something I had the nerve to complain and this lovely manager (at the time IDK if he's still there as that place seemed to be kind of a shit hole and he was the shittest thing in there) the best was I can describe it threw me out for lack of a better word for daring to speak up and "asked" never to come back told me that they don't need freaks like me in his store witch is funny because he interviewed me for a job not long before that took me a little bit of time to not be as angry about this hole thing and tell this story with out going completely off; A trained monkey could run the Dubuque store better than what it is as of late from what I have herd of my friends, that being seid and my feelings being down the way they are they owe me a HELL of an apology and should consider themselves lucky that at the time I didn't have a cell phone that could take video, as I know it would be all over the internet at this point what kind of people the hire over there,... I have no idea what I ate at this Panera yesterday. I ordered a BLT w/avocado. It had globs of chicken on it, bacon didn't appear to be cooked, bread crust was so chewy & tough I cut it off & left it on the plate. This is not the first time a Panera sandwich was disappointing. Have had bad food at others as well. May be done w/ Panera. read more
