Dined here tonight (Wednesday night) and arrived around 4:30 pm. It was packed but were seated pretty quickly in the bar at a booth. The server came quickly and took our drink order. Placing our order when we got the drinks was perfectly timed. I had the Roadkill with the mushrooms and onions on top, a side of baked potato and salad with bleu cheese. This salad is the perfect size for an entire lunch salad. Eggs, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, red cabbage and croutons! The bleu cheese dressing was thick, creamy and delicious. Others at our table had the early bird deals with pulled pork and 6oz tenderloins. I always take half my dinner home for the next day and there's so much pulled pork, it makes an additional meal as well. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner and to-go containers were brought as well. We did use the kiosk to pay but we always use a custom tip since it isn't accurately calculated, pre-tax, for their estimates. My only complaint is how loud it gets when they do their dance... not just the music (which you can't talk over) but the clapping. It reverberates so much that I actually had to cover my ear that was facing them, as it started hurting my ear with every clap. I have never noticed that issue before but this was the first time we were seated in the bar area, just next to where they do the dance. Found out later that tonight was also a donation night, wish may explain some of the crowded night. Fabulous service and was well stuffed when we left. read more

We really appreciated that as the restaurant was packed and most places don't do that. A bit noisy but that's expected with so many people and music. I'd say bad service but I only saw them once. No refills. Food came out after 45 minutes and was cold and inedible. Manager gave me a ticket for an appetizer next time I don't want. They credited only part of the meal. I was hungry and asked for a box since I didn't eat. Manager said she was new but heard that she had to throw the food away because it was credited. The list as they call in, ok while we are sitting 4 feet from the host a young couple come on and says to the girl behind the counter long wait, she signal for her to come over so I get up walk over to try to listen to what she says to her friend it was short and sweet your name will be at the top of my list with in 3 minutes her friends were sitting down to a table while me Andy son are still waiting poor service that girl should be fired as of right now, Next my waitress did a great job took a little long getting a bottle of ketchup which affected temp of the steak was cold it sat for 10 minutes drying out and getting cold, overall the waitress tried I think it was a honest overlook on her part she forgot about us. read more

Went here for a work get together and wasn't a bad visit. Last time I went to a Texas Roadhouse it wasn't good and swore I wouldn't return. Services was great and the food was good. I still feel like I need to figure out what to order from here because people rave about it but I have t found that item yet. The rolls and butter are great but I'm not just going to go for that. Told us he PREFERRED that we win in the outer lobby, and we could not sit on the benches inside the main entry way. What an ass!! Food is great. Prices are fair. Service was excellent. But honestly, we were immediately reminded of the reason we do not go to Texas Roadhouse. The noise! The music is much too loud, and I'm a rock guitarist! It's also mostly terrible "bro country" which sucks at any volume anyway. I was taken to a booth that was broken. My wife went to the bathroom and she told me to order a coffee. I did it came and it was cold and burnt. The waiter brought a new one. Hot and fresh. We got there just after they opened and there was dirt like nobody swept. Dust buildup on the lights above the table and the bathrooms were nasty. Rust, buildup that looked like mold and pee, maybe water?, all over the floor. The food was good. The best part of our experience was the waitress. Her name was Tori. We got an order to go for a nice night in. Easily the simplest order for a steak house - NY Strips, mashed potatoes & corn. The strips were the dinkiest pieces of meat, barely the size of my palm. I don't know if there's a shortage on mashed potatoes but literally there were five bites. RARE, was the theme for tonight's cool grilling steaks tonight. Ordered the 8oz Dallas filet, medium. When steaks were delivered I could tell by the amount of juices on the plate, they didn't didn't hit the medium grill. Waiter came by to check and informed him that mine and another person at the table steaks were cooked wrong. Waiter apologized and placed a reorder. A few minutes later two need steaks were bright out and Damn, OOOOH for four, both new steaks came out even rarer than the first order. At this point the guest in our party were about done, so we gave up. What a shame because this is the first time at Texas Roadhouse ever there was an issue with the steaks. Went with my boyfriend and had literally the best steak and salmon. Our server seemed like she had a long day but she was really sweet and got us things we wanted before we even had to ask for it. It was slow when we went in there so it wasn't as loud as other Texas Roadhouses, so that was nice; overall had a good experience. read more

Saturday night in a word: Busy! We decided after more than a year of pandemic isolation, it was time for a nice steak dinner. So after learning that calling ahead and getting on the list is a must, we called and were told the wait was 75-85 min. We gave them our phone number. No problem; we were a 50 min drive away. When we arrived, we sent a text to say we were there (waiting in the parking lot) and waited for our "Come on in!" text. Seating was relatively quick. Our server, Haley, was top notch, welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly. Made us feel we'd like to come back. But the main reason to return is the food. And, while this is not a high-end steak restaurant, we had a pleasing meal. The meal stars as soon as you are seated with fresh warm rolls and sweetened butter. Be careful! They are addictive and will be resupplied. It's easy to fill up on them. Side salads are an option and are a nice size. Our main courses of a filet and rib eye were both prepared as requested and were tasty. Dessert--no room. The meal was plenty. Dining out isn't the same process as it was in 2019. But don't let that stop you from making plans to dine at Texas Roadhouse. Call ahead. read more

I've been eating at Texas Roadhouse in various locations across the US for many years, this location is the worse place possible to eat. Normally I'll eat at the bar because I travel alone and enjoy the sports atmosphere so when I came into this location and couldn't hear the bartender because the supposed country music they had playing was so loud I had immediate concerns. Then on top of that I had the opportunity to watch so called country music videos and monster truck show, all the while there was preseason football and playoff golf on TV. On top of all that they got my order wrong twice, then you add in the extremely long wait for service and food, I would rate this place as the worst Texas Roadhouse in the country. Used the 'handy' online menu to get on the Don't-Get-Too-Close-To-Anyone Waitlist; website said 25-35 minute wait. 45 minutes later, went in to see why we hadn't been texted for a table, and were told we weren't on the list. No "Sorry 'bout that.", no checking to see how soon they could seat a table of two... Hostess was of the variety that looked like she'd do just about anything to check her latest Facebook likes or SnapChat as opposed to actually provide customer service at her actual job- you know the type. Made a reservation for a party of 10 for my friends birthday. When we showed up they sat us at 2 separate booths separated by an aisle with 2 servers. They failed to mention this when we made the reservation. There were tables behind us that could have been pushed together to accommodate all 10 of us so we asked to move. After having super rude service form my waitress Erica. I got charged twice because the waitress split the check up wrong and i showed her that i paid and she said i was wrong and had to pay again. So I had to speak with the manager Benjamin Bastian who then said that i had to pay again before I could leave. So I did after arguing with him for a half hour and he had the audacity to call me and my friends pathetic and rude. My mom then had to call and sit on the phone for 3 hours with different managers to try and get my money back for the whole meal after the manager made me cry. I was in last night during homecoming night as someone put it. I saw a line near the host stand and didn't know why it was there. I then heard the person who was handing out pieces of paper to the seaters say get on the other side of the line while one of the other hosts was trying to get a drink. The food was fantastic. My shrimp tasted amazing. There seemed to be a lot of tension at the host stand. I recommend maybe rotating people around. I've been in multiple times in the last couple months and every time I only see person handing out the pieces of paper. 100% they need to try something new. read more

Texas roadhouse is always a good choice for a nice dinner! The main con is that somethings they get very busy, so there can be a long wait. I've always found the service to be very friendly and quick. I usually get the prime rib rare. They serve it very rare which is great. Our server was very timely and friendly and took very good care of us, even though we were apparently seated at a table that wasn't supposed to be occupied. We're not regulars, but go to the DBQ location every couple of months. Over time we've settled into a regular order. We both really enjoy the sirloin and I get it in combination with the bbq chicken breast. I'm told that the beef is usually locally sourced, so given that we're in the heart of Iowa, that makes sense. I also like the seasoned rice and my wife finds the baked potatoes to be excellent. Other than the fact that the salads are chilled so far as to be on the border of being frozen, they are very good and we both enjoy the spicy French dressing. Our servers have been very good. As the only chain steakhouse in Dubuque, this has been our go-to place when we want a steak that someone else cooks. They do have issues with getting medium-rare right, but medium is good if you're not too picky and we love their rolls. They get busy on Friday and Saturday nights but the call-ahead seating means we have seldom had to wait more than 15 minutes even when they're packed. Our biggest issue with this particular location (and also the chain in general) is their idiotic policy of having their staff dance in the aisles. Not only does this mean that someone cranks the cue music (preventing normal conversation), but then the music stays loud and some staff gather in the main aisle, blocking access to tables by the servers, to half-heartedly conform to company policy. If it occurred once an hour or so, it might be tolerable, but last weekend this happened five times during the 45 minutes we were there (seriously- our server admitted it was only supposed to happen once every 30 minutes). What this meant was that I couldn't hear my partner and our server couldn't easily access our table (unfortunately located on that main aisle) for 20 of those 45 minutes. This isn't the first time this policy has made our dining experience extremely unpleasant. Another time we were there when the staff revolted against this diversion of their attention to their customers and refused to take to the "dance floor." In retaliation, the management chose to crank the music over and over again until they complied. Considering that we're not country music fans in the first place, this is becoming a deal-breaker for us. Although we enjoy the food, I prefer to be able to hear and be entertained by the company I'm with. read more

When I'm visiting Dubuque, this is my favorite place to hit for dinner. The food is great! Starting off with the rolls. Next I had a Caesar's salad. I don't know what they do? But they make a salad like this, taste better than any place around! My catfish dinner was a homerun! Made perfectly! Not over or under cooked. The service was fantastic! My waitress checked back often. Displaying a funny down to earth personality. My lady friend came with me. She can be rather fussy. Hard to please at times.
